worth mentioning though: i dont show "Show points below postcount?" I show 2 "Show level below postcount?" yes/no options instead. One of them does turn off the points though, its just mislabeled.

Probably you use the option to recount only active members. This guy haven't write new post from ages, but he gain new points for time, reputation... etc. Probably he haven't write before you install the version with achievements :) And you didn't recount when you install it. When he write new post Experience recount him and ... voala a lot of achievements.
Also check your Achievement goals.

I'm having some problems. I just updated my site to the newest version of VB (VB 4.0.8 pl1). I have vbexperience 4.0.3 right now and i recounted. Only some of my members have their achievements displayed in the postbit while others have nothing.

I have installed some other mods today though, so i'm not sure if that made a difference. Those i did were:
-rotating banner system
-easy forms
-webtemplates
-move inactive and lurkers to new usergroup

please, can someone help me? thanks!

Try to disable all hacks that you have installed and check which could change this. Maybe also try to revert the postbit template.

vBExperience 4.0.4 RC has been released. It fixes all known errors of the Beta. A new feature is the "Required posts for counting referrer". A new user must have at least X postings to count this as a valid referral.

Upgrade:
/***** Upgrade Instructions *****\
1. Copy ALL (I mean ALL - That is a common error!) files from upload_via_ftp/ to the server.
2. ReImport product_vbexperience404.xml, allow overwrite
3. If you modified any of the vBExperience templates, revert them
4. Run AdminCP/Experience/Recount

This will not work out of the box due to the new vb4 template system.
Edit the file xperience\hooks\postbit_display_complete.php
Add below this:
$xperience['level'] = vb_number_format($post['xperience_level']);
$post['level'] = vb_number_format($post['xperience_level']);

Than you can use in postbit {vb:raw post.level}

the mod was working just fine, 3 days ago activity var in all users is ZERO !!!!, dunno why.

You need to edit the templates via AdminCP and insert a <b> before the text and a </b> after it.

Cannot confirm that. There are thousands of running installation of this. Without any detail about the SQL error I cannot help you.

You will need to edit the level xml file and arrange it so it will change to level 2. You can use the Excel Sheet (\extras\Levels\vBExperience_Level.xls) for this.

With promotion system, its posible to promote to a new secondary group? and mantain the primary usergroup??

I don't think the calculations are correct.

For instance...a member who has 4 referrals, has the referral award...yet there is an active member who has 42 awards.

Why does the system consider the substantially lower # to be greater than the substantially higher figure?

Do you have a limitation on awards, e.g. 2 one max per user? If that person that could receive the referral award has already two awards, he will not get the third.

Yes, it is 1 max per user. However, the person with 42 referrals...doesn't have any awards. All awards are set to "Gold".

Also, when I "test", the "count" does not match the actual. The count gives over 1,000 (when the actual is 42) and 100 (when it is actually 4).

I'm on 4.0.8 and running the RC version of 1121.

You are assuming wrong, as the "count" are the points, not the real count of items.

See also:
Q: My conditions don't work correctly on achievements and promotions.
A: Conditions in achievements and promotions are calculated in POINTS, not in count of items.
If you create an achievement for reaching the first 10 Days, you must enter the points needed for this. If you reward 2 points for every day, you have to set 2 points for every day since registering. Calculation: 10 days * 2 points = 20 as condition. So you will have to set 20 as the condition.

OK, that covers the "count". But your Q&A addresses achievements and promotions, not necessarily awards.

Is the same thing true then of awards? If so...I'm not quite sure how to correct this specific issue re: referrals. Conditions do not exist for awards.

Awards is taking the highest count, regardless the settings.

Is the user beeing ignored for awards? Admingroup is taken out per default. Check settings.

Moving below date works just if you change the location to custom and move it in your postbit template.

To change the template you need to edit xperience_points_postbit and xperience_level_postbit

i have a couple suggestions that my members and i are all looking for in a future release. Can you possibly tell vbexperience to show the achievement images in an order of your choosing please? Right now, everytime i do a recount, it throws all of our achievement images into some random order it seems. If there was a way to specify which achievement should go first, second, third, etc., it would really be nice.

Also, next to the word 'achievements' in the postbit, could you possibly put how many achievements that person has total? We have a ton of achievements and the postbit for some people is pretty full. Thanks!!

ok, i'm trying to get the achievements for paypal donating to work. I have the mod VSa-paypal donate. There are lots of members who have donated through it. Some have only done $5, some have done all the way up to $145 total (not all at once).

So, for someone who say has donated total 20 dollars or more, i have:
paypal donate higher than 19

in settings for points, i have:
Points for VSa PayPal Donate
How many points should be given for donated money? 1

Phalynx, does it look at the total amount a person has donated from all the different times he gave money, or does it just look at what they donated at that moment one time?

Also, there are two drop downs for paypal in the field dropdown.
One of them is 'Paypal Donate' and the other is 'Paypal Donations'. What is the difference and which do you use for VSa-paypal donate?

It shouldn't have anything to do with the market because everything that is calculated between vBExperience and the Market relies on the xperience_shop field in the xperience table, which is seperate from the misc field. I'm not exactly positive what all is calculated with the misc field but hopefully Phalynx can help answer your question.

Currently not. Just stay with vBExperience 4.0.3, it is working perfectly with vBulletin 4.0.7 and below.

i have a couple suggestions that my members and i are all looking for in a future release. Can you possibly tell vbexperience to show the achievement images in an order of your choosing please? Right now, everytime i do a recount, it throws all of our achievement images into some random order it seems. If there was a way to specify which achievement should go first, second, third, etc., it would really be nice.
That has been already asked (Link: http://www.vbaddict.net/project.php?issueid=35), but currently I don't have time to realize this.

Also, next to the word 'achievements' in the postbit, could you possibly put how many achievements that person has total? We have a ton of achievements and the postbit for some people is pretty full. Thanks!!

Cannot confirm that. Using this achievement on many boards without a problem.

Are you using the custom points? If the user got points of it and someone removed them, the misc category could go negative. Also if you assign negative points with custom points.

in order to get more users posting, maybe it will improve activity....
so far it does not seemlike I can get money to post unless money
is some how involved....Its like a busy airport when they know
you are paying, but when the contest is over, or money is not
flowing their way, they all seem to scatter....no more posts...

What I can say, is this Mod has a lot of 3rd party support... ie... There are other Mods in which develop or include add-ons for this mod, with their word. Also Phalynx who makes this... Puts so much time and effort into this mod & makes a strong point to address many questions and concerns... That I'm often surprised this is free (but very deeply thankful for it).

that is unique that has not already been started, and if that is the case
you are telling people, dont even bother setting up a forum since

WF is already here, so why waste time setup up a Internet Marketing forum.

Hell, I think I am just going to quit my job, I am never going to
make manager, why should I when that other guy has more expeience and a degree.

I believe I have a pretty nice idea for your mod... as a user of your mod for over a year, I really appreciate it and it helps boost our forum activity BY A LOT!

My suggestion:

Could you make it so that lets say if a user refers someone else they get a point (already done). But if that user refers someone else afterwards, the original referrer gets a point.

Example:
Bob refers John, Bob gets a point.
John refers Adam, Bob and John get a point.

Make it so that maybe as the tree gets further generations (if you get my visual concept), the further the user is away, the less points an original user will get. This would be made so that the original user wouldn't accumulate TOO much points.

Another idea using the same concept, is the option to give them points based on their points, actions etc..

We would have the option to check off what actions a "Tree grower" would receive points for and how much.

What you think? This would make members VERY happy on our boards, because now other people are doing the job of earning points for them, and in return, the forums thrive in activity.

Such a feature comes with vBExperience 4.1, as there is someone who paid for this. But it's not 100% the same. You get a defined amount, f.e. 5% of the new users points additionally to your own points.

does this plugin work with user groups?
We currently are using 3.8x
I have a long list of user groups set so that each time a member wins any of the photo contests for the first time, i.e. POTW,POTM,POTQ either 1st place or 2d place, I tag them for being a member of that group so that the winner ribbon appears in their profile.
see example of this user. The ribbon colors match the larger ribbons that go under their winning photos within Photopost.

We are currently in the process of upgrading to vB 4,1 on our test site and I have noticed that the ribbons no longer show up in the user profiles.
I need a way to display all those ribbons in the profiles.
Right now this is the only way for me to keep track of all the past and current winners.
The website has been in existence since 2003, but we purchased it the end of 2009.
Since I created all the new user groups, ribbons myself, I spent months going going through all the winners each week and tagging their profiles.
So this is the reason I need it to work with my already created usergroups linked to the rankings with the ribbons.

Please explain more. vBExperience does not touch your usergroups, as long as you are not using promotions based on points. Even then only the primary group is changed.

I created the rankings that work along with the user groups.
Here is a screen shot of how it would look under vB 3.8x

I also created a profile field category called Contest Wins with sub cats of POTW, POTM, POTQ & POTY.
Each time a member wins I add one more to the count of the wins they have already won.
I was hoping to eventually use that data to create automated updated reports of a contest leader board so members can view it.

Thanks for the screenshot. I still see no connection to vBExperience, beside the automatic promotion to another usergroup based on points.

Question: I have only installed this recently.

How do I disable the display of Downloads award from the public experience awards page?

It displays to visitors, yet I do not have Downloads II installed.

It even has a member awarded this award, even though no downloads have ever occured or existed.

This award counts also for attachment downloads and LDM. You can disable it via AdminCP, Experience, Manage Awards

Whats going on with my points, I have 8,454 but vbookie cash is -757,399 when I go on vbookie I have -5855 so can't bet!!

Its all gone a bit funny, also I can't donate my vbookie cash!!! I try to it says its done it but it never leave my account and the person I donate it to never gets anything!!

Please check also the log if the points you were given away are really not given away to someone other.

I did install the vbookie plugin just after I installed vbookie but yesterday I installed the pluging again (overwriting the previous one) but made no difference) I can donate other points, just no the vbookie cash or vbookie bets.
Sorry, I have no clue why this happens. I'm not using vBooking actively so I cannot even reproduce this.

The "Earn Points" tab is also nice but you have to also have the summary, ranking and promotions tab showing which I don't want.

Also, is there somewhere which explains "Level", "Level Up", and "Activity" since if one of my members asked me I wouldn't be able to explain to them what those terms mean.

Finally, on the Summary page when I click the "Show Details" link it takes me to my profile but I am unable to get anything showing in the profile tab.

Please read readme_install_uninstall_upgrade.txt, espacially the first step.
You will have to copy the files FIRST, after that install the XML.

Basically when I click on the link, it goes to the profile and there is nothing visible related to VBExperience details. Perhaps this is because, I've tried to limit what's showing but I don't seem to be able to get anything to show when I go into the configuration options.

re-download and re-uploaded everything 4x. Did not fix this.

Its only a small graphical error, so I'm not really worried about it.

I would suspect this will brake a lot of Mods and Styles.

Please check if your language has the decimal seperator enabled, it should be something like . or ,

Without it, 100,3% (or 100.3%) is read as 1003%

Please check if your language has the decimal seperator enabled, it should be something like . or ,

Without it, 100,3% (or 100.3%) is read as 1003%

??? There is no Beta 1. vBExperience 4.0.4 is GOLD. Text overlay is confirmed.

Great mod, it has a lot of stuff I want, but a lot of stuff I don't want.

I've installed the mod on my forum and I want to edit the postbit bars. I know you operate it by hooks now but I couldn't find the source templates. Basically I want to remove the activity bar because I have no use for it. I also want to remove the "Level Completed %." Of course, I have no idea how to do this.

Any advice you have would be excellent.

Edit: Also, our EXP system starts at level 0. Is there anyway to modify the level XML to show that or not? I put in an input for (0,2000,2) but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Also I asked ages ago about the ability to manually assign achievements to users and you were going to implement it - I cant seem to find it or has it not been done yet?

I,m having problems with some post achievements - the awards are all set up correctly but the posting awards wont work correctly - for instance I have one award for having between 2500-5000 posts I set 2 conditions one saying Post more than 2499 and the other Posts less than 5000 I then clear achievements and logs and recount - problem is its only assigning this to half the users that have a post count between that number. It does these on the other awards too. I have tried changing all my posting awards conditions over to Points for Posts instead (1 point per post) but this doesnt work either.
Not sure what to do - I have deleted several of these achievements and re-created them - checked the conditions numerous times but its still not working correctly. I wondered if I'm assuming the Posts condition value wrong - I'm assuming Posts means actual posts made and nothing else? (I have 1 point awarded per post anyway so it cant be that!)

Never mind--I believe the client wants to count new posts from a certain date... I am all set with the resetting. When you reset this will shjow users current count and not start at zero..I believe this is what the client wants..

How does the vbookieplugin work? What I mean is when I set an achievement up and use "vbookie Bets" as my condition, what is it counting? Just my point value per bet?

I seem to have 4-5 users that almost no matter what I set it to they keep the achievement. Ive done reconts, re-installs, deleted/re-added the achievment.....all the same.

Nevermind this hack isnt counting right for pretty much anything. I added an achievment for days since registration (5 years).....4 users won it......which is odd since our forums wont be 5 years old til march. I tried using days and points as the calculation.

At closer glance there are many calculation errors so I just shut it off. Im going to have a coder look at my install.

There is no way for it.

It seems your achievements are outdated. Please try to re-create them via AdminCP, Experience, Manage Achievements, Clear and create default

There are "Points for posts" and "Points for posts" - one is the sum of all posting relevant data, the other are the real thread postings.

Demoting does not work at all, you need to create another promotion and move the user from higher to the lower group.

This is a major addition with much features. Most issues are related to users environment or installation errors like files that have not been transfered to server. Other "issues" are improvement requests.

Are you sure you set the required points for 5 years?!?

Q: My conditions don't work correctly on achievements and promotions.
A: Conditions in achievements and promotions are calculated in POINTS, not in count of items.
If you create an achievement for reaching the first 10 Days, you must enter the points needed for this. If you reward 2 points for every day, you have to set 2 points for every day since registering. Calculation: 10 days * 2 points = 20 as condition. So you will have to set 20 as the condition.

The plugins are required to connect a MOD with vBExperience. It is not the mod itself. You should overwrite an existing.

Increase the max_allowed_packet, search for it here at the forums, you are not the single one having this issue. It's only related to vBExperience.

Let say that I want to give 100 points to all users in VIP group, is that possible?
If not, could you set this in ACP in new version of this MOD, so then we could give bonus points to members of some group.

Untill then, could you tell me "Run SQL query" for that?

Another question, I can't put graphic bars in middle of my postbit (horizontal, not legacy), even if I use mannualy code in template, allways bars are broken. It is pity, because middle of postbit on my forum is empty....
