vBExperience 4.0.2 has been released! This release speeds up achievements and overall calculationm brings great new features like replacing achievements and multiple conditions. Of course all known bugs have been fixed, espacially a bug introduced with vBulletin 4.0.6 that made tabs in memberprofile disappearing.

### For the achievements improvements you need to clear the issued achievements and recount them! ###

- Added: Achievements can replace each other. If you have an achievement for 500 points, you can replace the achievement for 250 points. The shipped achievements are already configured to replace each other.

The template is called "xperience_achievements_bit" - but on that page the achievements have already 32px.

my achievement icons are actually 34x34 so anytime you specify a certain width and height, it scales them down and they get kinda fuzzy looking. I just what you had for height and width with 34 and it works fine.

well, if i hadnt had most of them made from a previous mod, then yes. But if i scaled them down, they will be oddly pixelated and just not look as good. i'm kinda picky about that type stuff. :D

just updated and all is good so far,great work on 402 phalynx the recounts and calculations seem to be so much faster now,a very noticeable change in how long it takes.

1. could you collaborate with TheMayhem again and make it so peeps can buy access to Earn Points page and GAP in the Point Market,and possibly even sell the ability to display your bars and achievements in more places.

2. a plugin for EasyForms (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=234385) I'm not sure all what info easyforms stores but there is an option to save forms to the db.I'd like to give users points for every form submitted

After the upgrade, every time I edit an award and hit save, it adds the same award again and again to the Your Awards box on the profile and in the Postbit. Also does it any time I do a Recount.

Achievements have also disappeared off of the postbit.

I reverted the upgrade and all was back to the way it should be, so it appears the problem is in the new upgrade.

Also, I'm not getting Notifications of a new achievement every ten minutes or so. I think my members will find it very annoying. Is there a way to turn it off or correct it?

That is something for a later version, as Point Market v3 is currently being finalised.

The upgrade instructions does not say you have to clear activities and statistics. That was not needed. You will have to "Clear all issued achievements and Logs" and run a recount on achievements.

get the points market system and pair it up with experience, people can purchase user titles, username colours and whatever else and passwords to private forums, the only drawback with it at the moment is that the colors show in html in some areas, the point market system is a very good mod to marry with this one though.

yeh exactly promote the group in the first box to the second box when they meet the conditions set.
You can set multiple conditions for each promotion and they will have to meet all the conditions before they are promoted.

Since there are achievements based on how long people have been members and I've noticed something wrong in particular.

My forum has been running since Jan 2010. Yet it says I've been registered for 400+ days - not true... been registered for just over 200 days. Can you help me fix this?

I wanted to make an award for people who joined in Jan 2010, "Original Members" but after setting the requirement of having to be a member for more than 204 days (in other words, those who became members before Feb 1, 2010) it was giving the award to people that joined in April 2010, so I quickly deleted that custom achievement until I could figure this date thing out.

Is it possible that the 400+ are the points per day? Standrad is 2 points per day - so 200+ days x2=400+ points.
And for the requirement do you set the needed points and not the days? Allso here days x2.

Quick question, I misread the "Advanced Forum Stats" plugin as something that would make it possible to have achievements for something like "Make 20 posts in the Off Topic forum" instead of it being a system that could award 2 points for every post but 5 for Off Topic (for example).

Is there a plugin or an option in vBExperience that supports what I originally thought the AFS was for? (Make ## posts in {name of forum}.)

Thank you Phalynx. I found 2 achievements named "New Achievement". Deleted them, but no other achievements were showing, although I do have the 100 pts achievement. I had to do recounts for them to show again.

Experience points don't seem to be updating. The default parameters to recount experience do not work (Number of users to process per cycle = 150, User ID to start at = 1). But at 150/5 the error doesn't pop up.

Concerning the social groups and album CSS files... I can't find them. Any idea where they are, or what specifically they are called?

EDIT: Fixed my own error. I didn't have an Off Topic forum. If you specify an invalid or non-existing forum in "ignore this forum for points", experience will not be counted anywhere.

EDIT2: Use forum IDs, not forum names in "ignore these forums".

Hi, I have Vbulletin on the last upgrade, now suddenly allthing is changed from left to right position as mirrored, that happened when I installed the language pack from Sweden, you know everyting is now opposite on our page, and cannot find anny of the settings for it to turn it normal, and therefore I have to install vbulletin again if I don't really find the solution to it :( I use norwegian translation, and added only the swedish to the database and then everything flipped or inverted, reversed the whole page from left to right? even the pictures, allthing..

phrase name="xperience_activity_x_lose"
So for example the links to the member-profiles in the Recent Activity-Block don't work well without the missing part.

"Custom" means that points from the Custom Points (assigned from admin) are taken into calculation. "Custom Achievements" can only be done by creating a CDP Plugin, see ZIP\extras, Plugins and CDP

I'm wondering about creating custom conditions for my Awards and Achievements. Suppose I want users to be able to get an award for winning a gaming tournament (like in CoD4 or something). I want to choose "Custom" from the conditions panel. However, "Custom" doesn't mean anything...

How would I go about doing this? Like, give them an award if they have a topic taht's been viewed 500+ times? etc. Stuff like that.

Where would I start if I wanted to make a custom achievement based of a custom condition. For example, I have a shop mod installed. I want to program a custom achievement that happens when a person owns 10 or so items. I really just want to code something in php, that either returns a value, and then use this value for the custom condition. I haven't really seen anything for this in the CDP.


P, I think a lot of us are confused about this. We don't really know what you mean by look in the cdp addon and such because there isnt really any guide telling you step by step what you should be looking for and what you need to be doing to create your own custom conditions. I'd love to use it, but without more guidance its really just a blur to me.

I never said using the CDP is easy. vBExperience offers a programmatically usable interface for such things. But there is currently no solution that is useable for users without the knowlegde of PHP and SQL Statements. It seems complex, but not for a programmer.
The time is the limiting factor. If I would have more time I could extend this by implementing an interface for users without programming something.

Are you using a decimal seperator? It seems it is missing, so that 99,9 (or 99.9) results in 999.

For executing a hook earlier you will have to change the source of vBulletin. The plugin that is using this hook does not modify any existing entries.
I don't know any issues with that.

So, this is a bug.

What about the awards in user profile?

I'm having some trouble getting it set up appropriately for my forums, so I need some assistance in what to do.

So in the admin CP, where you can edit the posts per day, posts per 7 days, etc., the first thing I tried to do was disable the scheduled task and put the information in myself. I also went based off individual users, so for instance I put in 5 posts per day, 20 posts per 7 days, and 40 per 30 days. I also set the timeframe for activity to 30 days. So, I recounted everything and it did not show up accurately for most people. Those who had only posted maybe 3 times in the last 7 days had 99% activity, and some people who had not even logged onto the forums or made a post in over a year had an overall activity of 99%. Also, after doing all of this and still having the scheduled task disabled, it automatically put in variables for posts per day when I thought that disabling the task would prevent it from doing this. This resulted in it automatically putting in like 92.3 for every calculation (92.3 posts per day, 7 days, and 30 days), which did not make sense to me.

Alternatively, I have tried to leave the scheduled task running and let it do it on its own, but I manually put in a 30 day timeframe for activity. The calclulations would change on their own, as expected, but it would make them too high, like I mentioned above with it having like 90 some posts per day in each time variable. And still, those who had not logged on would have percentages of activity that they should not have had.

So basically, I'm not getting an accurate reading on the activity levels. In my mind, users who have not logged in, made any posts, etc., within the set time frame, they should have a 0% activity level for everything. Seeing as how it auto-corrects to a higher number, I am thinking that maybe it goes by the entire forums posts per day, per 7 days, etc., but then it wouldn't make sense for the scheduled task to make all of these the same number of posts.

I would like to have an idea of how to set this up appropriately. There seems to be too many problems that I am having and I know the system works, its just that I do not fully understand how it works or how to make it work in the way that I am thinking it should. So any help on this would be greatly appreciated and the sooner the better. Thanks.

upgraded the mysql but beleave me it makes alot of problems with vb once the mysql is upgraded.
All the index's are out and you will need to run the mysql-schema.php file thats in the install folder to fix the index and then you will have to run the Repair / Optimize Tables to fix other problems or even re-install some products as well.

How long is your board running with vBExperience 4? Are you using activities? These are important questions, as the activitiy is being counted from the count of recorded actions in the given timeframe. The activity cannot be accurate by just using data from the last two weeks.

I would suggest to leave the system alone and wait until it finds the correct acitivity for everyone.

I only have 5 users, and it appears something is wrong with the award I created? I get this error now anytime I try to change an award, or recount, etc.

It appears to be from an Award that I created. I deleted the award and things are now working properly, but I would like to know what was 'wrong' with the award so I can avoid problems in the future.

I had called the Award "Brian's Award" And it appears that caused a problem.

In other words, when you spend them or lose them you stay at the same displayed number but ofc you lose them from your bank? The promotions don't seem to be working. I have a promotion setup for posts>20 to switch my users to a different usergroup. I have my points for a post set to 2, so that would mean that after 10 posts the user should be promoted. I have users with 20-50 posts who have not been promoted. The experience promotion system is enabled in the settings and I have tried to "update promotions" from the recount menu with no success. Any ideas?

Also, will the VB promotion system still work with the VBexperience promotions enabled?

Upgrade Instructions
1. Copy ALL (I mean really ALL - That is a common error!) files from upload_via_ftp/ to the server.
2. ReImport product_vbexperience402.xml, allow overwrite
3. If you modified any of the vBExperience templates, revert them
4. Run AdminCP/Experience/Recount
5. You will have to clear issued achievements and do a reount on them.

Please please please add this to the top section of the mod page - took me ages to find it!

OK, I resolved that by uninstalling and reinstalling.

I'd like the bars and awards etc to be on the left of the signature, same level as the signature - seems like a lot of wasted space there, anyone done this?

I remember this mod from v3.8 a couple years ago and the activity was calculated immediately for all users. is there a way to calculate activity from last 30 days and show on the activity bar?

I see that you made it so achievements can replace each other.. how do you set this since mine is still showing alllll achievements - ie: 100 points, 250, 500, 1000... so that it just shows the 1000 points achievement.
If you didn't replaced the existing achievements they won't replace each other. Either you edit them for yourself setting the replacements or you just clear them add create default achievements.

i go to recount the xperience points via maintenance tools and i see this problem database has encountered a problem. MySQL Error : Table 'xxxxxxxxx_vb.pp_photos' doesn't exist

It seems you don't have PhotoPost installed withing vBulletin. Uninstall the addin for PhotoPost.

hmmm i dont know if anything is wrong with vbexperience or with my forum. when i choose Position in postbit to custom location and add "$xperience_postbit" in my postbit_legacy it dont show bars instead it simply shows text "$xperience_postbit".

Hi, this may be a really dumb question, but is Promotion the same as level?

Currently I have 1 promotion from Registered Usergroup to Pro Gamer Usergroup. So is that level 1? If I added a new usergroup with a promotion that would be level 2?
No, Levels are independent of promotions. Levels are defined by importing a level product file, see readme.
With the promotions your can promote users to another usergroup.

I was wondering, is there a way to make it so that instead of having points displayed as current, you can make them displayed as cumulative? In other words, when you spend them or lose them you stay at the same displayed number but ofc you lose them from your bank? This might not relate to you, but to the market addon but thought I may as well post on both :)

The promotions don't seem to be working. I have a promotion setup for posts>20 to switch my users to a different usergroup. I have my points for a post set to 2, so that would mean that after 10 posts the user should be promoted. I have users with 20-50 posts who have not been promoted. The experience promotion system is enabled in the settings and I have tried to "update promotions" from the recount menu with no success. Any ideas?

Also, will the VB promotion system still work with the VBexperience promotions enabled?

Yes, both can coexist, as long as you don't setup a promotion that collides. Please check if the jumping path is correct, f.e. if the user is in the usergroup that has to be promoted.

The activity works based on activities. You will need to enable them. It needs also some days to have it working like intended. As it's more accurate than the old system it needs some time to fine tune for your board.

Posts > 5,000 (You have 14,174)

which is not true since I have almost half of that... and it show correctly in postbit (and any other part of the forum except the achievement page).

same happen with everything else: show almost double referral, double threads, friends, etc...

Days since registering > 1,095 (You have 3,540) my forum is 3 years old... it show almost 6 years in achievement page... and basically so on...

do I miss something here? is anybody else with the same problem?

If you create a promotion and want the members jump into the new group immediatly, you will have to recount. Otherwise the users will get promoted next time he logs in or does an action like posting a thread.

Yes, AFP does exactly this, it allows you to set points independent for every single forum. The other case, giving awards for a single forum, must be accomplished by using the plugin interface of vBExperience.

I only show so many achievements on each members postbit. There are lots of members who have more achievements than what they have. (I show 20 achievements, but they might have 34). Could you possibly add something like this to the next update?:

Please define "instant". If you create a promotion you need to recount. In that case all users that are eligible for transfer are promoted.

Well, at the moment if a member hits the post count needed to trigger the move from primary usergroup to the new one. The move via promotion does not happen right away.
The situation is that a member will hit the post count and then be looking right away for their new additional forum areas.

Logging out or making another post is not what I want it to do. If the member hits a specified number, then instant move from one group to the next.

Can this be achieved some how?

They are two different things and I think I solved the first.
Now I do not understand how long are updated promotions, which is why I ask which task do this and see if in my Task Schedule is active.

1) Delete all the promotions of vbulletin
2) Experience with new promotions created that achieved a rating of Experience, users must switch from a user group to that success.
3) Name the group members and included in the group user (Eg = Fog, freshman, expert, guru, etc. ..)
3) Turn on the system of Experience promotions

Without this, if I run manually Recount of degrees and titles admicp maintenance and promotion in Recount admicp-experience.
If I do this I do not update the instance (in text format) under the nick and I'm not running the shift from user group to another.

It seems there is another user that has 100%. There can be just one user with 100%. If you just installed vBExperience, you will have to wait some days to collect enough information for the activity.

Thank you for the fast reply. There is 1 con to the "Give away points" though. You can send certain amount out of your total points. The way the system set up is that you can only send them from your thread/replies/rep/etc..but not over all amount. Look like I will still have to use TheMayhem store donation function xD

vBExperience is calculating points from the ground up for all postings. It takes all posts, even if 10 years old, and calculates them into the points. There is no need to take old points from uCash. Beside that, vBExperience is overwriting these values every time a user does an registered action.

Achievements or awards? That are different things.

As for awards, did you installed 4.0.2 and upgraded to 4.0.3 or is this just a clean 4.0.3?

Just clear awards and run a recount on awards.

I think we need a feature to assign/recount individual achievement. I have let the recount run for over 24 hours period for a board with 30,000 members and 20 achievement and it's only at achievement 15 lol It would be much better if we have a function to let it it assign/recount each achievement by itself.
