i have installed vbexperience, now everytime i go to admincp/experience i get this 404 (Page Not Found) Error

I am good2go, except for this same problem. My page for experience, the activity and award notifications are all bad links. Anyone know of a fix for this?

That's the error I was getting. I had to uninstall by using the vekill and it deletes those bad tables. I then reinstalled and only integration with vbookie was giving me those db errors. But that it is the way I fixed the others. As it sure did throw a lot of db errors on me too.

Right now I am still trying to find out how to get the experience page to show back up.

Thanks so much! I was able to run that kill file. That's the part I was not understanding about putting that in my web browser. I hope not deleting the files will make a difference as I am just going to turn around and reinstall it. I'll know soon enough!

Again, thank you for you help, I really did appreciate it! It's always trying when you have several mods and they can interfere with each or conflict. But when your database somehow gets corrupted, it's often better to do a fresh install if its possible. I'll let you know if this worked to get my vbexperience running smoothly. I love the mod!


Edited: I reinstalled it. It still gives me db errors on vbookie, so I disabled that integration, and the rest ... NO DB ERRORS! I can live without the integration to vbookie, so I am happy! I hate db errors, and this way we stay error free! Thanks again!

OH that's fine! I can live w/out 1 integration, it's not as important as the others. I just can't figure out why the experience page is coming up as not found. I am wondering if that is something in vbseo. The problem with having too many mods is it's hard to figure which one is causing somethings. I may have to get someone to take a look at my forum to fix that one.

I do appreciate your help though. I don't like seeing ANY db errors. I'd rather turn it off than have those fill up my inbox. I heard some forums don't send them to themselves, but I want to know about everyone of them, and get them fixed so my forum is optimized.

great thing, loving it, but cant figure out what am i doing wrong with advanced forum points. i installed it, see it in my products and plugins, but don't see any place to set points per forums. really wanted it, was my main reason for installing the whole experience...

also, assuming you'll help me figure out what am i doing wrong - would i be able to give achievements/awards for posting in specific forums? user A has a postcount of 100 including 1 post in forum Z, user B has a postcount of 20 including 10 posts in forum Z, so i want user B to have award "top Z-poster"?

I was wondering if there is any way to cut down on this incredible plugin being the resource hog that it is. It's practically 1/3 the size of the entire vBulletin database. That itself is of concern. I don't really need all the daily feeds, etc. who did what, etc. They just need a few toplists and that's all. Those can and should be cached and can be updated daily and would be fine (e.g. "List as of xx/yy/zzzz).

But here's a larger issue. I started to log slow queries and this is what I saw - not even what I expected. The first two queries have been shown several times in the list. Perhaps we can put together a practices list for minimizing resources using this plugin? If it was already done, would someone be able to point me to it? Many thanks - here's my data:

I am trying to expand the bars to better fit my postbit width.

I can expand the bars by increasing the below width of 102.

Looks better, but the color within does not change to match the proportion. Where can I change the color inside the bars to match the new width of the bars ie: If a users activity is at 99% when I change the width, the color does not expand accordingly.

i did some testing, and the errors started when I excluded users 1, 3, and 5 from the system in the EXPERIENCE control panel applet. Once I deleted these entries, the error messages stopped.

So, it appears that the errors come from this area. No big deal. I just didn't want to hog some of the awards, because I am the top poster.

vBExperience Module for vBulletin contains a flaw that allows a remote cross-site scripting (XSS) attack. This flaw exists because the application does not validate the 'sort' and 'sortorder' parameter upon submission to the 'xperience.php' script. This may allow a user to create a specially crafted URL that would execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser within the trust relationship between their browser and the server.

I believe this product is still vulnerable to SQL. I had to remove from my forum due to a Select Order at xperience.php. Latest version of this mod was installed.

You will need to add your own server and port for ventrilo setup and change the ***** to your details for the database.

I have also hard coded this for the names of our vent channels and have included a check to see if a user match bot is part of the channel if it is increase the points

This script is run by a cron job every 15 mins and it adds points to the custom point table. (This is becoming an issue as the table is getting quite large)

I installed this and it seems to be working fine. It took about a week to get everyone's "Experience" level icons up to speed. It was interesting to see it happen over the week.

One thing that would be nice is if it could somehow subtract points for those who don't login anymore or have left the forum. I noticed that some members who have not logged in for years have large experience scores because they used to post a lot. Removing points for inactivity would be something that I would think would be a good feature.

Other than that, this is a great mod.

I dont want to force new users to do a ton of posting and what not to get started using this addon I am making, so.

Is there a way to manually boost users points when they first register, say give them 1000 points, or is it just a matter of upping their reputation in vbulletin?

Too many database errors on 4.1.10. I had to uninstall it. Followed the un-install readme to the T, yet I had a corrupted database after. Luckily I did a backup just before installing it. Only lost about 6 hrs.

It's very buggy.

1) The small 16x16 img doesn't remember itself in the drop-down if you go back to edit an award. If defaults back to the first choice in the menu.

2) There are a few 'Points for x' that are doubled in the list.

3) Recount didn't work at all. Neither did the 'Test' link. That returned a db error.

4) A few template problems. The missing tag i mentioned above being the biggest, and a few spacing issues with blockbody tag. (tested on vb default style)

I guess I will wait for a updated version for 4.1.10. Great mod, so I'll keep my eye on it.

I am sure you can do it by coding a plugin for it.. if you look at Experience: Points under --> settings --> vboptions in the admincp. Hopefully Phalynx will add this to one of the next release.

You can achieve this with an addon that is giving the points for each user once.

It's very buggy.

1) The small 16x16 img doesn't remember itself in the drop-down if you go back to edit an award. If defaults back to the first choice in the menu.

2) There are a few 'Points for x' that are doubled in the list.

3) Recount didn't work at all. Neither did the 'Test' link. That returned a db error.

4) A few template problems. The missing tag i mentioned above being the biggest, and a few spacing issues with blockbody tag. (tested on vb default style)

I guess I will wait for a updated version for 4.1.10. Great mod, so I'll keep my eye on it.

You need to use the CDP plugin interface, see ZIP\extras\CDP Custom Data Provider for examples.

Seems a few people have had this issue, but I'm not sure if any light has been shed. Everything seems to be working just fine. However, the awards tab (From xperience.php) does not show up, all you get is a blank or white page.

On my forum it's not exclusive to any one style. No database error, nothing else has a problem, and for that matter, the awards are being tabulated (from what I see on the admincp), just the awards page itself shows nothing.

1] The award icons do not show up. The images simply go to the icons folder (./icons) but do not show an actual image
2] The awards page still shows blank for me

It's already renamed to "All Points for posts" and "Points for posts". That "All" means this is the category.
There is no need to talk about the seperation threads and posts, that makes really sense. If you don't need one of them, disable it by setting its points to 0.

I did reinstall everything to fix my xperience.php?go=earn problem. Also noticing that even though awards have been assigned, they don't show up under a user's profile or xperience.php.

Very strange. Please verify if all template hooks are in the postbit templates, compare it to the original template. Test it also with a new default style without parent style.

I'm switching Point Market System for vbShop due to the lack of support, and I don't think those who purchased items from the previous system will get their points back.

Two questions:

- If I recount after I uninstall Point Market System (I am NOT going to abreviate that :P), will my users get their spent points back?

- If not, can I give custom points to all of them simultaneously?

first of all thank you to the developers for the great extension. We used it for some time and it worked well. As it does not fit the theme changes we did in our forum we deinstalled VBxperience Gold on our VB4 latest forum.
I read through the threads here (before) and figured that there was much confusion of what to do first (files delete, product xml, kill_xperience).

I went for the path of running the kill_xperience first. (For new users: the script is in the Install package under EXTRAS).
It seems it worked, the forum is up and running.
I do not find any addons or modifcations related to xperience in plugins/addons.
In the admin CP I do find the experience link (which of course does not work, as the DB tables are gone).

So far so good.

Next I tried FTP delete the xperience folder, the forum stops working with a white page. So I left the xperience files for now.

Question: what did I forget, not think about?

1. vBExperience has been removed from database. You must now delete files on your server.
2. PLEASE UNINSTALL THE PRODUCT XML MANUALLY FROM THE PLUGINSYSTEM.

I have the same problem, after upgrade of Vb 4.1.12 and all plugin disabled, i have the blank page on the forum.
I did not understand what could be thought of vBSEO or to htaccess .. but nothing. Until we have rehabilitated vbexperience the plugin and everything has to work reinitiated

I don't remember how many times I'd uninstalled and then resinstalled this mod.
So this is my way:
- Uninstall all experience's plugin.
- Uninstall experience's level plugin.
- And use vbExperience411_20120307_BETA.ZIP\extras\Remove vBExperience\upload_via_ftp\admincp/kill_xperience.php for the last step.
- Delete file and folder of vbExperience if you don't want to use it anymore.

I have this instructions:

To remove vBExperience completly, you will have to copy "ZIP\extras\Remove vBExperience\upload\admincp\kill_xperience.php" to AdminCP and execute it. After a confirmation dialog all vBExperience tables will be completely removed. Afterwards you will have to remove the product and all files via FTP.

I am desperately looking for a log per user to search for stuff.
For example: One user is not getting the 7 days registered Achievement even though he is already 11 days registered. All other users do get it.

Do the registered points per day only count when a player logs in, so it is not "7 days registered" but "7different days logged in"?

Can the "hide status" produce this ?

(Just checked: He only has 8 points. I would guess the registered only counts days which he is logged in. I also let the system recalculate all points)

That's right, under Manage Custom Points you can give the users extra points, even take away points from them by putting negative values in it. I'm using it on some forums for myself to deduct points because of pinned threads.

Another wrong information from you. Giving points via AdminCP adds points to exactly one user, it does not mix anything.

It has nothing to do with their user group since many other members of the same user group display achievements there. These members have achievements which are displayed in their user profile.

On 2 boards I did NOT! edit any achievements and yet I have the problem that the system puts points from User A to User B.

On another board only an admin gets tons of points but almost no one else.
On my boards I have to admin for others I have similar problems and also other forums which I take a look at also seem to have similar "bugs".

Else you seem not to have read my problems fully.
A user which is registered a longer time has, as only one, not that 7 days registered (standard settings for everything!) and went into a huge minus.
But another user which is only rarely active gets almost all the points distributed.

Since I don't have any full log to check everything I can not give any more details.

About my comment of "failing the system" I think it is fail.
Because generating points fails it, because there are more points in the system than it generates which makes it useless. Thats just my thought.

And sorry. You have been online on a daily basis on vbaddict and just a small "I will look into it in about 2 weeks" would have sufficed and I would know. But just blindly ignoring it is anything but nice. Also thus I thought you don't care I had to disable the addon for the time being because on the boards I only do admin and not own.

Hey guys. This is a great mod and I've been playing around with it.

One thing I've noticed is that my user profiles don't look right, or look like what they're supposed to. Is there an easy way to fix this without manually going through all the templates?

Scores are not callculated correct..

f.e. i have 2 members that have 100% positive feedback on itrader, one with 31 feedbacks and 1 with 29 feedbacks but xperience grants the awards to the one with 29 feedbacks.

While this of course should be to 31 feedbacks.

My users purchase any item and later on they're given back their spent points.

I'm using DBTech's vbShop system. I had to switch to vbShop because Point Market lacks support and it stopped working for me.

the content in the upload_via_ftp must be uploaded to your root forum directory.

Hello -

I need a little help on how to accomplish this using xperience in conjunction with other plugins.

1. Have a store where users can add items for purchase. For example, a bakery owner might put up a dozen cookies that will cost 100 points, a dog walker would put up an hour of walks for 25 points, etc.

2. Have actions generate different kinds of cash. So for example,
- one kind of points generated from specific actions like winning a high score in v3arcade. These points could be spent in the user stores.
- another set of points generated by other actions like posting in the forum. Those points would be added to their account to also buy those store items, PLUS they could be spent to purchase "perks" from my own site.

So the second set of points could be spent anywhere, but the first set of points could only be spent in the user stores.

I'm sure with all the options in xperience and the different cash plugins this is possible, but after a couple of weeks of trying to figure it out, I can't quite wrap my head around it.

Login to your Admincp.

Goto Plugins & Products --> Plugin Manager --> Product : vBExperience --> edit the First one of these. vBExperience (links)]

I have vBulletin's native Paid Subscriptions set up like a donation system, which works for my purposes better than VSa PayPal Donate. I would like to know if there is a way to have vbExperience assign an award based off the paid subscription amount.

Example:
User donates $5 via Paid Subscriptions and is given a "Tier 1 Donor" award
User donates $25 via Paid Subscriptions and is given a "Tier 2 Donor" award

I'm a little lost, I'm trying to set up a giveaway. We have a sponsor who will give a prize to the user with the most posts, referrals, likes, etc. the contest would run for 30 days. How do I set this up, and then determine the winner? I don't want to count previous activity for users, so that everyone starts on a level playing field. I have a persistent problem that I've been through this thread for, but can't find an answer - it's about getting it to work with vBookie.

Maybe we can create custom fields and modify the conditions for new archievements?

We want apply gamification in our company using this great add-on but we need this fuctionality because not all arvievements are accomplished by points, we need archievements like, first person who finish with some type of task, etc...

has anyone figured out how to, for example, give an achievement for reaching 1000 posts correctly?

For some reason there are two conditionals for "Points for posts" and both seem to calculate data differently. Regardless of the one that I use, the system appears to calculate data on more than just the amount of posts and the point multiplier. For example, if I set the condition to 2000 points for posts (multiplier is 2x) members with less than 1000 posts are still getting the achievement.

I marked it as installed, but ive got some sort of problem. Ive startet the counting from specific Date for example yesterday, so all users start by 0, but the posts dont count on threads created before. if a thread created 21/06/12, i start count points at 22/06/12 and today someone posts in this thread, he dont get the points for a post. Hey, great mod, I am having a problem though.

The mod installed perfectly and everything was going ok until my computer went to sleep while the admincp was recounting the achievements. Now all I get is a 500 Internal Server error when I try to recount achievements, regardless of how low I set the number to process. I even tried 1 :)

First of all, I want to thank Phalynx for this crazy amazing free modification. It has been great but I needed to strip some forums down back towards the core. I have been unable to remove this completely and it is driving me crazy. For example:

I just got around to upgrading to 4.2, and the experience seems to still be there, however the EXPERIENCE button on the forum toolbar is gone, however in the User Control Panel, it's there along with all of the information.

Do I have to do something to get that back?

Here is a quote of what says in the file, if you upgrading from 3.8.
Upgrade from vBExperience 3.8:
1. Install the product here: ZIP\extras\Remove vBExperience\install_this_to_upgrade_from_xperienc e38.xml". This product contains a fix to uninstall the old product without problems.
2. Uninstall vBExperience 3.8 product. DON'T USE KILL_EXPERIENCE!
3. Read the normal steps "Upgrade Instructions" above

And i have my own question, when you are posting a thread or an post the count of the level / points isn't updating instantly.
I mean when you post for example a post and you need to get 2 points for that you will get them only if ill recount in the admincp and not instantly without me having to update the recount.

Has anyone figured out why there are two fields for "Posts" and "Threads" when looking at the points breakdown in a user profile. One of each field is much larger than the other and doesn't make sense when compared to the number of posts/threads that the user has created.

edit: nvm, I figured it out - I didn't realize that the number on top was the total. It should really read "Total of points for threads" - "Total of points for posts"

The addon works really good but the RECOUNT function is super slow on our board.
We have >180.000 users and the recount is now running since three days!!!
No matter if I take 150 users per cycle or 10000, it is taking ages. Any idea how I can speed this up?

I need to change one small thing but I can't figure how.

When you view the xperience points menu you are met by a series of tabs i.e -
awards / achievements / ranking

After updating my vb template, all these tabs now have a black background.
If I hover over them they are fine, but when I don't hover over them, they are all black.

I have tried using firebug and viewing source code, but I never seem to find the correct code to change. I think its in the .CSS somewhere, but I can't find the correct line.

I've been putting this off, but I was hoping the developer might be able to tell me what controls the tab colours? It would end 2 months of fiddling...

Thanks once again for a great mod, it works so well I haven't even updated! I'm afraid I'd mess it up.

Hello this mod is awesome!

However, I noticed that not everything is showing up. The achievements and awards are not showing up on my own personal post bit. Not sure if something got mixed up or? They show up on my profile page, but not on my threads...

I have a bunch of achievements listed on my profile page, but they do not show up on my own postbit, they appear to be working for others, but for some reason not me. When I first installed the mod it worked, but now it doesnt. kind of weird.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, I had deleted the award not set to Zero so I re imported the default awards and set to zero. However, now instead of scanning a bazillion rows it only scans 5-6 but still takes for ever.

Can I just remove this from the code so it doesnt do anything at all?

did you check the overwrite box when importing the product?

This is your clue: MySQL Error : Unknown column 'dbtech_thanks_likes' in 'field list'

That means it didnt install correctly, your missing a database column in that table.

I've just installed this and am looking to use it as part of my competition ideas. Now what I found really good is that you can state a date for the start of the point calculations. However, I put todays date 12/08/2012 MM/DD/YYYY and the did a recount of points. It does work, however, things like points for reputation, friends, referrals etc are not being calculated from that date, it is calculating since they joined, where as points for other activity such as threads, posts, blogs etc are at 0 so they are calculating from that date.

So why are not all the stats calculating from the date I set? By the way i'm using the BETA version.

I'm guessing that since the latest is version is 4.1.1 it is NOT ready for 4.2.
I would just wait for a new release probably titled 4.2.
