and also the two <br /> instances (white space between the name and image).

There's a "Can Avoid Moderation Queue" usergroup setting to get all files approved by default. There's also an Approve/Unapprove link on the top and the bottom of the file page (next to the edit, delete, ... button). If you don't see it, check the "Can Edit All Files" usergroup setting, which is necessary for these actions (or "Can Edit Own Files" when applicable).

Reupload all DownloadsII files to the forums folder on your ftp. You should have missed /includes/xml/cpnav_ecdownloads.xml which puts the Downloads admin part in your AdminCP.

It always stands there: Citation: Unknown form kind or the file is damaged... Besides, it concerns around scarce and txt dateien! with zip etc. I do not know there I with it not works.

i want that two websites used the same downloadfiles. The Websites are not in the same folder on the webserver. The Forum is in /srv/www/htdocs/forum/ and the website is in /srv/www/htdocs/website/.

The path to the downloads must be se same in both cases. If you have the rights to acces the file at the server it will be okay.

Found a solution to my problem with rewriting rules on the vbseo forum.

I have another question: would it be possible to add a reputation button into the downloads? So if wanted users can give reputation whenever someone posted some downloads.

Yes, on the usergroup permissions page you can specify the categories which should be visible (not specified: invisible) OR the categories which should be invisible (not specified: visible).

Sorry, that's a known limitation. There's no way around it right now.

I'm not sure there even is a way to do that. If we hide it for external files, we'd have to copy the file to the local server, then serve it. That's not a very nice solution.

Plus, you can link to not only external files but also to web pages. Working those into a hidden solution along with possible files would be tricky.

BTW - I don't mention this much but DownloadsII can be used as not only a file manager but also a links manager. Like I said above, you can point to not only files but also sites.

Yes this was with everybody datei. After I have changed 745 following in the file downloads.php in line: readfile ("$filename"); in echo file_get_contents ("$filename"); changed. If everything functions now. Thank you, nevertheless, for yours hilfe.

My problem is:
My forum host is not big enough to store files. Then I upload my files to the external host. I got my link to the file then post it into DownloadII section. When my member download it. It will show the real link to my external host. Like: hxxp://myhost.net/myfile.rar Can you make the real link turn into something like the link for the file into internal host, like: hxxp://mysite.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=1&act=down. I don't want member to know the real link to my external host. :D

REPLACE WITH
$result = $db->query_read("SELECT DISTINCT(`fileid`) AS fileid FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "dl_comments");
Then rerun the Update Counters.

It seems that there were two typo's in it and I only fixed one of them (and didn't test it, my mistake) :)
I'm wrapping together a new release at the moment to fix this and some other small issues.

It's a standard vBulletin template as these are template edits (very common for vBulletin.org mods, so there's not documentation).

You can find it at AdminCP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Edit Templates (select it in the dropdown menu of the style you want to edit) -> Memberinfo Templates (double click on this category to expand it) -> MEMBERINFO (double click on it to open the edit form)

I got a problem. I moved my site from servers and uploaded all the files which already were in Downloads II via FTP with the according numbers in the filename like: 15567-arioner.zip
There was a problem downloading via the site so my provider activated php-suexec and now downloads are possible but another error occurs.
When downloading files via the site, the zip and rar files have errors or a map in a rar file shows as a file.
When downloading via ftp however, the file comes in correctly.

So something must be wrong but I don't know what.
Files imported and uploaded either with ftp or via the web can be downloaded without problems.

So it looks as if the files which were already present before the server move, can't be downloaded without errors anymore. Is there a fix for this?
Did I forget something or did something wrong?

Edit: Just discovered another thing when clicking in the ACP on import, it says:
The absolute path to this script is /home/mydomain/domains/mydomain.org/public_html/bbs/admincp/
It should be /home/mydomain/public_html/bbs/admincp but i don't know where to change that.
Re-imported the downloads II product but that did not change anything... help?

After looking through this Mod (great job btw!), I could not find the answer to my question, and did not feel like reading all 121 pages.... lol, anyway here is the question. What I would like to do is have the download section show another box, containing the actual URL. I am using this as a place for clan members to upload files and then embed them via bbcode into the actual forum.

Unfortunately I am still in the process of learning actual coding and this is beyond me for the time, so any help would be highly appreciated.

Check the chmod of newly uploaded files and compare it with the chmod of old, existing files in the downloads directory on your FTP. Possibly you didn't change the chmod of the files after moving servers.

I don't know if there's anyone else here using that browser to confirm this? I'm only testing with the major browsers: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and Safari.
AOL Browser seems to be built upon Internet Explorer, so it should work normally. Normally all modern browsers should work with DownloadsII as we aren't using any exotic code.

That's already an existing usergroup permission: "This is the maximum number of files that a user can download in one day. Set this to -1 for there to be NO limit."

New files work correctly, old files are corrupted, but they aren't if you download them using FTP. So the problem has to be something with the files in the downloads folder.

The chmod and owner of the old files is the only thing I can think about, but they are the same :(

Linking to a file is something totally different than importing it. A link is ... well a link (file isn't stored on your server) and importing it is done on your server. Changing this behaviour isn't something we can do easily, so I can't give you five lines of PHP code to change for something big like this.
We do our best to give users what they want, but we can't code everything custom.

A category, like I said, doesn't disappear suddenly. The only way they go away is when you remove them using the AdminCP. Other, external reasons can be a corrupt table in your database for example, so try running a repair command on all your database tables for example.

Thanks :D I do have one issue with it though if you wouldn't mind taking a peek, I can set up an account for you with access to it. It's just showing up as "http://www.mysite.net/forum/downloads/" instead of "http://www.hostileint.net/forum/downloads/filename.ext" though.

That's strange. I tested it now and it works for me :p
Are you sure you've done the downloads.php edit correct (placed the code after the second instance of the code to find)? I've attached a pre-edited downloads.php, try uploading that one to be sure.

That's a beginning to remove the left panel stats (most popular files, newest files and top contributors) on most pages.
Also set "Number of "Latest Files" to Display", "Number of "Most Popular Files" to Display" and "Number of "Top Contributors" to Display" to 0.

For hiding other statistics, you need to edit the downloads templates manually. For example remove

New files work correctly, old files are corrupted, but they aren't if you download them using FTP. So the problem has to be something with the files in the downloads folder.
Exactly. I've read you tested it and had no problems. Could it maybe be so, that the other linux distro had a different filesize or something and that now the actual size differs from the on in the database which corrupts files when downloading via the browser?
I don't have clue if this is possible. But that's the only thing left I can think about.
I'll guess I have to reimport all my files again or something like that.:(

Ok, that's more clear :)

For the italic download amounts (most popular files), you need to edit the downloads_panel bit template and remove $value from it (then run the Update Counters feature to empty the cache of the left box stats).

Also edit downloads_file for the file page and remove

What do you mean with "how many data is used"? The file size, or the bandwidth counter?
For the last one, you need to edit downloads.php and remove

This will remove the navigation link to the stats page.

That would require some PHP surgery. It would need to detect the fact that a linked file contains your site url and then it would need to use the cloaked method.

Easier is to add a .htaccess file to block hotlinking. You can find a hotlink protection .htaccess generator here (http://www.htaccesstools.com/hotlink-protection/). Set the extensions of the big files your admins are uploading as the "Files To Protect" and upload the .htaccess to your alternative downloads folder.

There's only a JavaScript deletion prompt on the file pages (for the file itself, comments and images). The Manage Files page hasn't got the prompt, so files will be deleted immediately if you are using that way.

Note that you need JavaScript enabled in your browser, but I don't think that's the problem :)

If it doesn't work on the file page, can you pm me a test account (with file deletion rights for DownloadsII), so I can check it out?

Because for some odd reason.. I'm unable to upload .wmv or .avi.. and i've edited it for these file extentions.. but it just loads for a long time and then it makes the page reload after its done and gives me blank boxes as if i never typed anything to be uploaded...

actually.. is there a way i can edit it so.. files that are large can be uploaded? i think that's the problem

You need to chmod the downloads folder (which is one of the files/folders you need to upload before to your forums ftp) to 777 permissions with your FTP-program, so PHP can upload files to it. PHP has got an upload limit, that's probably the problem. It's a common issue :)
If you have full server access, you can edit your php.ini (PHP configuration file) and edit the size there manually. If you are on a shared server, you can put a .htaccess file in your forums directory (where you can find downloads.php) with the following content:
php_value upload_max_filesize 25M
php_value post_max_size 25M
Ofcourse you can change the 25MB to what you want. It overrides the php.ini setting.

To get around the blank screen, zip the files and then upload then via FTP. Then add the new file in the downloads menu and input the url.

I was having the same exact problem as you, zipping the files and uploading with FTP fixed the issues. My members are happy they can download my movies, and I am happy that they can.

But really several days ago thet rules worked good

Now I really don't understand the problem. So let's recapitulate ...
Did the category "suddenly disappear" or did you delete it yourself as you are saying also:
that directory that was supposed to be deleted
If you delete categories, files should really be deleted also (if you don't choose to move them to another category). I just tested it to be sure, and it really works correctly.

If you deleted the category yourself (and didn't move the files, but choosed to delete them) and you say there are files of that category still present, please give me a concrete url of such a file on your site.

Try restarting the Apache webserver after doing such edits. That's why the .htaccess way is a bit easier (create a file with that name, put the content I mentioned before into the file and upload it using FTP to your vBulletin forums directory).

I don't know the vBSEO rules, so I don't know if there are any errors in them or so. Try removing them all and check if it works again. If it does, those url rewrite rules need to be wrong in some way.

Q1: Did you do the chmod with the other FTP-program? If you didn't set the 777 permissions for the downloads directory, uploading won't work (as PHP can't move any files to the directory without having the permission to do it). Are there any notices on the top/bottom of the downloads section (normally the software gives you a notice if there's something wrong with the directory and/or its chmod)?

Q2: If you are using vBadvanced CMPS for your homepage, you can use the DownloadsII ver 5.0 vbAdvanced Add-On (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=110122) to do this. There's also a vBPortal block avaiable at phpportals.com.
If it's a custom coded frontpage, you can check the vBadvanced add-on PHP code if you are a bit familiar with PHP. It's pretty easy to recode.

Try reuploading all files if there's no Downloads category in the AdminCP (like this (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=51208&d=1154030011)). You probably missed uploading /includes/xml/cpnav_ecdownloads.xml, which is putting DownloadsII in the AdminCP navigation.

Removing the copyright isn't possible, as the "Based on ..." is necessary for the license. It's based on ecDownloads (created by Ron1n who quitted vB.org) and the ecDownloads license requires attribution ...

is to be able to choose that you cut they can download files for groups.

I want the registered users to download files but not of all the categories,
the same thing with the invited users, I want them to download files of some categories.

I would love that detail with the permits for groups and categories.

Try uploading one of those files to AdminCP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Upload
Normally it should give a "No errors occurred while opening the uploaded file for reading." message if it works. If it doesn't work it's clearly not a DownloadsII problem, but a general PHP (or something else) configuration problem.

I can confirm the guest problem on your site, but I also tested it on my own testsite and it works fine :s

I can confirm the category problem for that file, but again I can't find any problems on my own testsite. Although I can fix it on your site by creating the missing category manually inside your database, but then I need phpMyAdmin access or something similar.

Also, how can I let users sort by Rating? Ratings over all the files and in a certain category.

There's a Files Sorting dropdown menu at the bottom of the category view. That's one of the options it contains.

The most important for my in a nest version
is to be able to choose that you cut they can download files for groups.

I want the registered users to download files but not of all the categories,
the same thing with the invited users, I want them to download files of some categories.

You can control category access using the usergroup permissions. You can grant/deny access by listing the category id's and choosing the grant or deny option.

I already incorporated a pulldown search menu (vBulletin search type) on the downloads home for v6.

The main problem for v6 at the moment is the directory structure rewrite (with subdirs instead of one downloads directory), so I'm thinking about skipping that for a next version as it takes to much time. There's a lot of new code already finished, so I think it's better to get that released (for example a brand new admin panel, which is fully functional).

I'm sorry, but limiting the download speed isn't possible at the moment. The only limits you can set are the download delay (overall and per usergroup) and a limit for the amount of downloads per day per usergroup. Finally there's also a maximum MB that a user can download/upload, but that's not so relevant.

Anyway, such an option is a good idea. Maybe a wait time would be also nice: "The download will start within two minutes".

Upload indicators using PHP are pretty difficult. It's easier using a Java form and that's one of the many ideas we have for future versions :)
You can upload files to a folder on your FTP and use the Import tool in the AdminCP ;)

You can't use directories on another server or outside the forums directory at the moment.
Uploading a file to an FTP folder isn't enough to add it. You've got two methods: uploading it on the frontend of the software and give it manually a title, description, ... Importing files from an FTP folder can be done using the AdminCP, but if you upload new files, you need to run the import tool again for them each time. I don't think we will implement such an auto-sync feature as we focus on extra file data also (description, ...) and not just a "parent directory" with a vB look.
DownloadsII is using templates for everything, so adding Google AdSense code is very easy.

There's already a detailed downloads log in the AdminCP ;)
Adding that information to the frontend wouldn't be a good thing for privacy imo.

No, there aren't any template updates in this new version. If there are any template updates, they won't overwrite your template changes automatically. So you would need to revert them manually and redo your template changes, just like vBulletin template updates.

1.) He makes a downloads directory on his local server where the forum is, like it should be.
2.) Now via the Add files option, one can upload files, or link to files. If you link to files you need the complete http://siteof.files.com/filenam.zip and the length of the archive.

So If done like this, he should be able to host the files on another server and link to them through downloads II.

Or am I missing something?

PHP has got an upload limit, that's probably the problem. It's a common issue :)
If you have full server access, you can edit your php.ini (PHP configuration file) and edit the size there manually. If you are on a shared server, you can put a .htaccess file in your forums directory (where you can find downloads.php) with the following content:
php_value upload_max_filesize 25M
php_value post_max_size 25M
Ofcourse you can change the 25MB to what you want. It overrides the php.ini setting.

That's indeed possible, but I think he means something different with:

So I think that's linking to them without revealing the download url (which can't be done with the actual link field)?

An argument against this is the fact that bytes are more accurate. And it's pretty easy to know the exact size of a file in Windows: just right click it and choose for properties. There you can see the size (don't look at the "size at disk", that's not the real one).

There's also IE7, the newest version. It's an additional XP Windows Update and the default browser of Vista. Just do the file edit I gave to you in the above post and it will be fixed.

You need to upload them after adding the file (so after submitting the file). The "Upload Images" form is at the bottom of the file page.

Be sure the "Allow Images" DownloadsII setting is enabled and the usergroup has got the "Can Upload Images" permission, otherwise you won't see it.

I already thought about such a thing as I know it from the Moodle e-learning CMS, but I don't think a lot of people have LibClamAV installed. Shared hosts probably don't want to install it as it takes some resources.

Hmm, if you need such a feature, I think you just have too much categories (or you should use a better sub-categories layout) :D
Even vBulletin hasn't got such a feature.

Like vBulletin it's possible to hide sub-categories on the main page if there are too much of them.

@BluAzn: I had that same problem. Downloads II creates the /ec_tmp directory and the webserver needs write-rights on that directory.
You could ask your hoster to install phpsuexec or give apache write rights to that directory.

Thanks for the last reply, just curious has anyone here asked for the download file queue time limit. What i mean is a feature set a time limit of x seconds and if user doesn't click on the link to download, it'll be expired and user have to go back out or refresh the page again in order to download. I think it'll be pretty useful because it'll prevent user from using download manager to download the files and take up all the queues for themself. And also another useful feature is when guest allowed to download file without logging in, they have to enter a Verification image (words) in order to continue and download the file just like with vbulletin, when you don't log in and you try to search something you have to enter Image Verification to continue. Just wanna put my 2c on some features that i think will be useful for all since this is a download manager script.

Go into your administrative control panel, and look for "Downloads" in the left column. Select the drop drown arrow, and click the bottom link "downloads." That page will show you who has downloaded what file.

1. Option to put the download in the profile of the Author instead of the person who uploaded it. I add a lot of files on my site which are made by others. I also have got this, but it displays perfectly in the browser and you can remove it (with the delete link) without any errors. I don't understand the problem? Why should it have more permissions?

There's a mass import feature in the AdminCP part.
DownloadsII can't add files automatically. There isn't a standard method for this like RSS for news, so I don't know how we could implement this.
I don't understand this question? You can add and modify categories in the AdminCP. Modifying the look of DownloadsII can be done by modifying the DownloadsII templates of your style.

You can put a member in it (with auto suggest), but you can also upload for example vBulletin and put Jelsoft as the author, which isn't a member (just an example as distributing vBulletin is illegal).
For question 3: This is already implemented in v6 as this is requested multiple times already :)
For question 4: I think this is a bit a complicated method? Are you having that many sub-categories?

That's not a default feature as some people are using bigger images, which will mess up the layout. I'm doing it with some template edits of the downloads_main and downloads_main_catbit templates. You need to put a higher colspan value in the first template and put the category image in a separate td in the second template.

For answers 1 and 2: I like that you can put whatever you want in the Author field but the Uploaded by has to be a member and you can't just fill in whatever you like. And it's the name @ Uploaded by which gets the download shown on his profile. So for example if I upload vBulletin, I put Jelsoft as the author but since Jelsoft isn't a member, vBulletin will be shown on my profile looking like I'm the author of it and not Jelsoft. I would like to see that the downloads gets added to the profile of the Author's name and if that name isn't a member, don't put it on any profile.

For answer 4: I'm having a lot of sub-categories indeed. I have tons of categories and like I said, lotsa downloads. I have to try and make it look a bit organized. For example, when you want to download some logos you'll have to go to:
Football Manager 2008 ? Graphics ? Stickerbook V2 ? League Packs ? Europe

I can't show all categories on the main page coz that will make it look really messy. But I also can't make them all show on the Graphics page coz we are still talking about tens of categories. I would like to have them shown on the Stickerbook V2 in this example. Can't you add an option when editing/adding a category that you can show all sub-categories on the page of that category.

Change the directory name of the downloads folder, but it must stay inside the forums folder! DownloadsII doesn't support download directories placed outside the vBulletin forums folder at the moment. Also keep the 777 permissions chmod.
Then just change the Download URL of the DownloadsII settings to match the new name, but keep its's structure (./downloads/ -> the point and slashes are necessary in that way, like it's default).

Are you on a shared host or a dedicated server? It's pretty strange as you are the first one having these problems with it. I'm only having it with that chmods as default and I don't get a forbidden error. Maybe you have a pretty strict Apache configuration?

The 1GB of storage can be set using the usergroup permissions. The 20MB per file can be accomplished by limiting it with a .htaccess file in the forums directory to limit the PHP maximum upload value.

No, with the PHP setting the upload will just time-out (blank screen). But you can edit the downloads_file_addit template to set a warning for your members.

I'm sorry, but vBulletin is really necessary to run DownloadsII and most of the other mods on vB.org. We're using the vBulletin database, AdminCP layout, template, language/phrases, ... backend and that's really a lot.

There are a lot of other downloads mods, but I don't know some similar one immediately.

Look on line 829 for this line:
move_uploaded_file($_FILES['image']['tmp_name'], $dl->url.$newfilename);

Add this below it:
chmod($dl->url.$newfilename, 0666);

That should fix the permissions problem when adding images.

a l help out at a large forum which uses this module (which l see has been updated since the version it currently has) and we are having an issue with people creating up to several account just to get around the daily bandwidth limitations that are in place, its getting quite annoying weeding out these users, so an ability to limit these users based on cookies or even a time limit between downloading per IP would be useful (of course the time limit wouldnt be mentioned but it could be set for an hour or two in hopes to combat those ungrateful users who only want to download content and leave without considering that some sites only have some much bandwidth to spread between each user)

I'm having some troubles now as well... Knew it was to good to be true...

If I Import from admin CP no Problems, If I try and use client user from downloads.php page to add (with admin rights) a file It works fine if the file is under 2MB, as soon as I Increase the file size it give me the attached error. Whats really wierd is this was all working great last night, I dont know what happened.

Fixed it ... had to edit the php and change BOTH the file_upload max and the Post_upload max. Still get that little error that shows in status bar of IE but uploads are working.

Did find another bug and I dont know if this is a vBulletin error or this mod, but heres what happened. My Time was 12 hrs off being set for PM when it should have been am. I noticed it and made the change, I went back into vBulletin and My Administrators User group had NO permissions for Downloads II and it wouldnt accept any changes. It said it saved the changes but when I go back into the settings they're the same as before I changed them. Really strange and so... I'll be running 12 hrs ahead... Hmmmmmm I guess I could choose an offset 12 hrs behind of what I got... but thats a shabby fix...

Ok Now uploads work fine but when I try and import via admincp I get this error.

Could not import the following files because the import file could not be read or the export file could not be written to: sce_098_full_install.zip

These files are fine and I can add them via the upload feature from download.php ("ADD")

Yes I was able to Import when I first installed it, but at that time I was getting errors with the upload in the download.php which turned out to be my php max settings in php.ini I changed them to 500MB and the client side works great now but the Import doesnt. Zip file is fine, Attachments settings are correct, Permissions are good... ALso If I uninstall DownloadII it still stays in my Plugins/Products List... ???? and if I try to uninstall again says something like cant find product edownloads or summin

If it's not on the "Open File Directly in Browser", it should open in a new window normally. What browser are you using? Also give it a try in another one.

I don't know what could cause such a random error. If it happened to the attached images, it could be the problem CyberRanger sorted out, but for uploading files the 666 chmod is done correctly. Also you are talking about random errors, so it can't be a chmod problem (or even a PHP problem). Those errors wouldn't be random occuring then, but always.

Can you check your Apache error log? Are there any (related) errors with downloads.php?

That's already possible, just use the usergroup permissions :)
There's a per usergroup setting to control the amount of downloads.

does this mod allow for rapdshare type functionality, or is there a mod to allow it?

a l help out at a large forum which uses this module (which l see has been updated since the version it currently has) and we are having an issue with people creating up to several account just to get around the daily bandwidth limitations that are in place, its getting quite annoying weeding out these users, so an ability to limit these users based on cookies or even a time limit between downloading per IP would be useful (of course the time limit wouldnt be mentioned but it could be set for an hour or two in hopes to combat those ungrateful users who only want to download content and leave without considering that some sites only have some much bandwidth to spread between each user)

Normally you can just set the download delay in the settings, or use the usergroup permissions to set download delays per usergroup (which is overwriting the overall setting). It's checking the username AND the IP already, so it should work.

Could I suggest leaving out the URL data from search results?

I don't think we are going to do that as this is the same method vBulletin uses for the forum search.

They're probably using the PHP PDF functions (http://www.php.net/pdf) to do this or another PHP class (there are more of them). This isn't an easy to add thing as it requires some special functions (or a separate class) and it's a pretty load to include this in DownloadsII as it won't be used by a lot of people. It could be something for an add-on.

You can also make your copyright and distribution rights clear at the top of the PDF with your site url etc. and send a mail to those sites.

??? Your question is hard to understand but I think the answer is no. DownloadsII doesn't put the files into separate folders. All uploaded files go to the same folder. We aren't happy with that either but that's how it works now.

That's not anything related to DownloadsII. You've installed/uninstalled a product that creates a field named credit_daily that is giving you the error. That's not a field used in Downloads.

One of them was that I would like to see that the hack picks the Author's name to show the download on the profile instead of the Uploader's Name. Jelle responded that it wasn't a useful feature but I do have something else to add about my request.

I upload almost all the downloads myself. To make sure the downloads are shown on the correct profile, I do Assign Uploader and change it to the membername of who created the download. One problem: When doing that it gives that person the ability to delete the file. This is something I can't have so I had to change them all to something else. This means that the files won't be shown on the correct profile anymore. I still would like to request the option that you can make sure the download will appear on the profile of the Author instead of the Uploader.

I've searched a lot, but I can't think at all such things also.

For usergroup determinated adds, just use this code in your DownloadsII (and any other vBulletin) templates:

Using the usergroup permissions you can list the categories a user can see/download from and what other permissions you give OR the categories a user can't see/...
There are no advanced per category usergroup permissions yet.

This will be possible with v6, which is in progress (I'm cutting down the new features which take too much time to accomplish at the moment). There will be separate edit/delete usergroup permissions and they are also separated a second time by file owner (edit/delete own files) and all files (edit/delete all files).

Hmm, someone else also had this problem with the previous release (5.0.5), but only in Internet Explorer. I changed the download headers to a method IE also likes and his problems are solved now. So be sure you have the newest DownloadsII files (downloads.php mostly in this case), version 5.0.6, on your FTP. Also give it a try in another browser (Firefox or something like that if you aren't using that browser already).

Then you can try to open downloads.php
Find
header("Content-Type: $ctype; name=\"".basename($filename)."\";");
Replace with
header("Content-Type: $ctype");
So you undo the 5.0.6 change to avoid IE corrupting zip files (on some servers in some rare cases, don't know why yet).

Then give it another try with the problem browser(s). Please give some feedback on what a different browser does and it the change helps to fix it for all browsers.

At uploading a file from a category I receive such mistake:

And if enter editing any file and to change, for example, the description after preservation I receive such lines of mistakes:

1-Can install it as subdomain of forum? I don't think you really can. We assume downloads.php is in the main forum folder. I'll double-check but I think the answer is no.
2-from where I can edite layout of main page /category page/download page? You need to examine the DOWNLOADS templates and find the one's you need to change. The best way to learn what happens is to play with them some. :)

It's possible to do with chdir to get the vBulletin files from your forums directory and the base html tag to get the right vBulletin layout images from your forums etc.
But the vBulletin license states that you may only install it on one (sub)domain. You also may not show another layout or something else on different (sub)domains. You need separate licenses for this.

They are pretty strict with this (there has been some discussion about this before on other mods) :)

I don't see where you have a problem. I only saw where you want Downloads to perform different than intended. We aren't going to code it like you want. The site that gives a white page is a terrible way to operate.

You're absolutely right, I have more than 10,000 files for my members to download and will have about more than 600 categories running on my dedicated server. I've figured out a way to make it look nice and neat with all that categories without the Categories features. Right now, my bandwidth drains about 3-5 GB per day, I wonder if it'll slow down my board if Ihave about 20GB of bandwidth my members leeched of my server. Is there anyway I can host my board and database on other server and files on separated server?

And also, how come I have imported and uploaded total of more than 10,000 files and on the main download page, it's showing that my main category has more than 10,000 files too but when I ftp to my account and go into the downloads folder that i set, there's only almost 4,000 files in there. I have check all the files in download section and able to download them and none of my members said anything about broken download yet. I'm wondering where all the other 6,000+ files go?
