i dont understand how i use the del command =/

HAve you checked the howto in the chatbox help ?

soabout the image issue.. i tried uploading down9x9.gif it but i still cant view the arrow pic
and about the input field it would be terrific if u did that includding having usergroup to see the text and other dont like the admins

No no this is not correct, channel is just a location so even in its own channel, the PM are only seen by the one who sent it or the one who received it :)

Can you edit the mgc_cb_evo_chatbit_menu template and changed z-index : 1 to z-index : 50 to see if that fixes it.

Yes sir. PMs between me and other can be viewed by anyone with PM permissions.. Feel free to use your admin login to my forum and check it out... You will see all PMs through that channel. We're there now.

Is it possible to allow users to select a different style for the chatbox? It's just that some of my users browse at work and they'd like to have the chatbox in a much subtler style to the rest of the forum so that they can keep it open.

I can't use /pm stoebi hi, because i get always the error issue:

The command /pm works only, if you use the menu command Send a private chat to Stoebi once. Each user which want to use this command need to use the menu command Send a private chat to <user> before.

Steps to reproduce:
Import mgc_cb_evo_cmd_pm.xml
Save
Rebuild bitfields (not really necessary)
Change to you forum with your Chat installed and refresh your forum.

Each time it takes 3 or 4 seconds ? I don't think it's related though.

/pm stoebi hi is not a good syntax.

Check the help in the chatbox you'll see that you're using it wrong :)

i think it has not changed there is the time to seend the message and then the time to refresh chats in the chatbox.

From the prior non EVO version? No. When you read the readme for the new evo versions step one of install says "Step 1 : If you hadn't previously installed the chatbox, skip this step
1/ If you want to keep an archive of the chats from the previous version, download them from the archives page of the chatbox as we unfortunately have to remove them due to the incompatibility of the new version and the lack of time to write an import script."

As far as from the evo versions... I have updated from the first evo up through the current and the archives have stayed through each update (so have user settings.) Hope that helps :)

What I'd like to do is make a much simpler style. A very plain grey or white page with a different header logo. Something less obtrusive. I'd then like each user to be able to choose between the different styles depending on what they want. Those at work can choose the plain style whilst others can keep the standard forum style.

Why don't you just make two styles and let users select them ?

Damnz, I just gotta say: this new shoutbox looks amazing vBDev. I've been following the replies and I just got to wait till the next version comes out so hopefully, all the bugs will be fixed. Since I have much faith in your coding qualities, I bet they will all be gone!

I have one request and one question.

Request: Is it possible to get the shoutbox to work together with new posts on the forum. I know InfernoTech made vBShout this way that when a new topic was made, it would announce it in the shoutbox. This is just a lovely feature and I was wondering if you could look into it (if you aren't already).

Question: I read that it's possible to create multiple chatrooms with the same shoutbox. Having multiple chatrooms, is that going to increase the server load? I ask this because I would love to have 4 or 5 rooms for my site. I just don't want a high server load because my site keeps crashing every now and then with the current shoutbox as it is.

About the new topic announcement, it is something that could be done yes but It wouldn't use the command system which might be a bit bad :(

Anyway this is not a feature I would develop right now.

About the rooms, no It doesn't add server load.

However, the way I coded it, to add a room you have to attach a command to it. So to create new rooms you would have to kinda modify the team command to make 5 different commends (replacing all "team" by another word should do it ;)).

I'm still having problems with table on Opera. When an username contains "-" there is a line break, as we can see on attachment.

EDIT: in the Archives the column DATE is messed up with Opera also.

just installed on live forum and everything is fine except ban command /ban on uid userid banned users gets a PM saying you have been banned from chatbox but user can still see and use the chatbox , am i missing any setting ?

This is an option, you just have to deactivate it. It should be located in the Chats formatting options.

If I want to create a new channel I get:
You can't add a channel, it might be due to one of the following reason :
There are no command in the database
The commands available in your database can't be attached to a channel
All the commands available in your database and that can be attached to a channel are already used in other channels.
Did a search but didn't find a solution.

For that you would have to tweak the global hook that do the display on all pages.

In that hook you should change content like that :

I just attempted an upgrade from 1.2 which seemed to go well, but messages are not appearing when I enter them in the main channel. Private messages and team messages appear to be working properly. When entered in the main channel, the input box goes blank (as it should), but the message never appears. No error messages appear, however. The /announcement command is also not taking. I believe I followed all upgrade instructions, including file upload, overwrite product and command uploading.

I had also been using the page variable with success to insert within other pages. However, with the upgrade these now display the interface box with a perpetual "Loading..." message.

I am using vBulletin 3.6.7, which worked well previously.

UPDATE
There is no General Channel listed in ACP-->MGC Chatbox Evo-->Manage Channels. Should there be? I see only the Team Channel and Private Channel.

Our chatbox is used ALL THE TIME - we often have up to 1000 chats per day. We used to have many members with individualized colors - NOT just the user group. Now its just by user group. Is there a way for each member to have their own color and font, not defined by the usergroup?

We're all missing that feature!!!!

I would have said the contrary. I encountered it on my side and it's was when prompt message option was disabled.

The only thing that could lead to such problems is a problem of templates not reverted or javascript files not present.

When a user goes into their User CP to select a color the ONLY colors that come up for them to select from are the default (black) and one other color - the one set by myself in the Admin CP for that usergroup. There used to be multiple colors for people to pick from. Our users really loved it, and it was easy to tell who you were talking to!! We all got used to certain colors from certain people.

it appears that the maxosx directory is causing the problems with the zip file for windows users. or at least that's what it seems to be. I can unzip 1.2 with no issues, but 2.0 is still giving me problems

You have not followed install instrcutions carefully.

Readme says : Remove all chatbox files first (previous version), remove old products, and then do the fresh install.

Now two solutions to correct your mistake : either rebuild bitfields manually after having removed the old chatbox files from your directories (especially the one in the xml directory) or remove files and install product again.

I was a little bit to fast I gues. :p

Awesome work with this shoutbox man. I didn't know hacks/mods could be so good for vBulletin. You've really amazed me and my members.

Got a couple of things though. I was wondering if it could ever be possible to add the feature that a bot gives an announcement every time someone has made a new post or created a thread on the forums. This would create a bridge between the chatbox and forums which would be awesome. I know vBShout had it so it could be possible. I would only like to see it when it won't add extra server load though.

Another thing is the ability to have some words censored. So when someone says "shit" it gets replaced by "s***". I can't stop people from using some swearing words even though it's in the rules. Would be nice if they would be censored automatically.

Can't think of anything else that I would like to see. Keep up the good work my man! It's amazing...

Yes I think I'll certainly do that in an upcoming version.

About censored words, if you have had censored words in vBulletin system one then it shall be also active in the chatbox.

I have tested it back, honnestly no problem found.

Command was fixed a bit in version 0.1.0 and was working well after that.

The only thing that could mess it is if you haven't followed correctly command install instructions.

I can't prevent those kind of things. Image are added through normal BBCODE system so if user can do it elsewhere on the forum they will be able there too.

When used, the message that was used displays normally as every other shout, but it stays at the top of the shoutbox, and all messages sent after that go under it. This is something that would really benefit me, and others.

Just found another little problem..

I have the maximum font set to 4. But, if someone manually types in the font size, they can set it to whatever size they want.

Is there something you can add to say if it goes over xx it gets reset to the maximum number? Like if a user entered 7, and my max number is 4, it would be reset to 4?
