Hello,

When I post a chat it appears at the bottom of all chats so you have to scroll down to see it. At first I thought that it does not display some chats but later I noticed that it does not display the chats in order.
This is what I noticed: if I type a chat it will be first displayed at the bottom and later (don't have a time table but if I refresh it after the chat, it is not corrected) it will be automatically placed where it supposed to be.
Currently the chatbox is set to display the newest chats on the top with the time only, no date and without "today/Yesterday" option.
Why the chats would be displayed so randomly please?

I think I had a similar problem when I tried to stick a chat. I didn't know why this was happening until I unstickied that chat. Maybe you got the same problem?

I just had to disable MGC :(

I was getting the "Loading" message, and nothing else..

Have installed something else temporarily, hopefully the new version will fix this issue, and this is without doubt the best featured chatbox around..

Just tried a complete re-install, same result.. just the "Loading" prompt..

This is really frustrating, has been working great for a few weeks up till now!

Oh, the user is using Firefox and Safari on a MacBook. Since the user upgraded to the latest version of Firefox, 3.0.7, it doesn't work.

Both the original, as well your new version is not able to import vbSout.

To make it possible just one correction is needed . TABLE_PREFIX . in line 672

Change in the line 672
$check_vbshout = $vbulletin->db->query_read("SHOW TABLES LIKE 'shout'");to

$check_vbshout = $vbulletin->db->query_read("SHOW TABLES LIKE '" . TABLE_PREFIX . "shout'");

Yes there is an issue in the current available version, sticky doesn't work and cause weird chats orders behaviour.

This has been fixed in the upcoming release.

The new version is almost ready for release. It has been tested on 3 online boards since 3 days and is running pretty smoothly, all previous bugs are gone bye bye.
We installed it on forumcoding yesterday and fixed some side issues but now it's all good appart from a small problem with IE.

Once this problem will be fixed (I hope tonight but it's not easy as I don't have a PC but a Mac ;)), I will release it.

Anyhow, I took blackteal's menu_open.gif and dropped it in the problem-having-skin named OnlyDev and even though when i check the source (CTRL + U) and see the link there, it still shows the "Send Query" button with no image on top of it.

I already searched in this thread and saw that Dave9720 had the same problem but he didn't post his solution.

It turns off the little prompt message in the chatbox where you type in your messages. The message can be changed by clicking on "Chats Formatting" and then scroll to the bottom where it says "Message to display in the input field on page load". So basically "Show prompt message for this usergroup" turns that message on or off.

The only reasons why username wouldn't not show is :
- You have not run the last step of the upgrade (script launch)
- You have a modified chatbox template and you didn't revert it

Well logs are not chats logs ;) These are chatbox action logs like chats removing and so on.

So if noone do such things then you won't have any logs.

OK thanks, tried logging out and back in, changing options and whilst it saves the setting for the period I am in the usercp (doesn't show in the chat though), on leaving usercp and returning, the settings have reverted to default.

Not the end of the world, but did like the different colours and styles for different users.:)

Edit. Sorted, had to go to a page on which I had no chatbox showing, then go into usercp and set the options.:)

And now there's a new problem. When I click on the "expand/collapse" arrow, when the chatbox is collapsed I don't see the chats anymore.

Quick question...With the channels I have the option to notify if there is a new message (not with audio) but the icons don't seen to change? I thought they were supposed to blink or something...or I thought they used to? Or am I crazy?

RSS feeds by the system are not displayed in the chat area, normal posts are, not sure if this is a bug, it may have been mentioned before too much info to read through.

Is it possible to have RSS feeds shown in the announce tried it in its own colums and not working.

Same problem here, forumcoding page gets timeout issue. I cannot log there anymore, it is not working at all since about 7 hours now! I had ask before for support there about my problems after upgrading to 2.3.1, but since it went down, I will repeat here.

For me, I had to deactivate my notifications about new threads/posts because all I get now is databases errors in both cases!

And yes I applied the upgrade script ( http://url_of_your_admincp/mgc_cb_evo.php?do=update_before_2.3.0 with the corrected URL of course) at the end without any errors when applying the script.

Resolved the issue, was a little bit confusing though. Why not make this auto run as part of the 2.3.0 product file?

I also noticed that I'm not able to click on an URL to open it.

So if somebody posts an URL and I click on it, it does nothing. If I double click, it makes it able to edit it...

Can this be fixed?

Make sure you have "Activate the BBCODE URL" in "Chats formatting and sending" within the admin control panel set to yes.

Well to have blinking icons, you have to have created blinking icons :D (means : animated gif).

And you have to activate the option.

Well RSS feeds are not working in the same way as posts or thread. Chatbox is not intended to be posting RSS feeds notifications.

Yeah it's normal, this is just that I don't retrieve the avatar info / user info with a very slow join when retrieving the chats.

The fact that it's bigger now is thus normal. Chatbox will now be faster thanks to that (less db load).

Download 2.3.1 zip and upload the files from the files directory. Be sure to overwrite the one on your ftp.

Well I don't think it would solve the solution.

What you must understand is that if you change your usercp settings while the chatbox is running on another active page they won't be saved.

Unless you deactivate the formatting auto register :)

You can try diminishing the chatbox input size.

Well in this new version there are now 2 buttons for b u and i corresponding to on state and off state.

So you have to have :

I just had to disable MGC :(

I was getting the "Loading" message, and nothing else..

Have installed something else temporarily, hopefully the new version will fix this issue, and this is without doubt the best featured chatbox around..

Try also to load yui either from local or yahoo server (see general chatbox options).

Just found and fixed my usernames not showing problem. All it was is I was uploading the files in auto mode and I changed the upload to binary and now the usernames all show.

i had the same issue aswell, even if i believed i didnt do wrong but i did. Delete all mgc files and reuploadthe files again. I used a ftp program to upload the files but it never actually overwritten the files... so try deleting the files first

Oh damn you are right there is an issue with collapsing of the chatbox ...

About the loading stuff this must be an error on your side, two users had the problem with file not being uploaded correctly.

I've solved my problem with usernames not showing up and I dont get the collapse problem. Whay I would suggest is make sure you upload the files in binary mode and try again.

You've been right, I figured out what was the problem, one of the js and one css files were corrupted. I redownloaded the zip and it fixes the loading stuff (even if it is quite slow with my small connection).

I just have a small display problem with the white arrow on the left side of the chats (see the screenshot) it doesn't appear anymore. What have I done wrong ? (maybe it's an option I didn't see)

Nope here is the fix, edit clientscript/mgc_cb_evo/mgc_cb_evo_functions.js and search for:

Thanks, I have just installed this in our test board, no issues so far. We're running VB 3.8.1 CMPS 3.1.0
Only problems so far were ID 10 T errors

During the install we followed the directions and U/Led the Files folder to the root - MISTAKE - when we did what was in the folder to the appropriate place everything worked fine

We had it up and running but couldn't see it - MISTAKE - Once permissions were done ta-da

Will keep you informed if we run into anything but thanks again

It worked well two updates prior to this, but now it seems that even though the option is still in there for usergroups, it ignores the start channel and goes to the system default.

Well in this new version there are now 2 buttons for b u and i corresponding to on state and off state.

So you have to have :

I think you misunderstood. I need to make the link to the existing b u and i icon files work. The on/off icon files are in the proper directory but the chat application is not linking to them for some reason. Everything else in the application works OK. It's only the b u and i icon files that are not being read by chat application. All I get is the missing icon picture; you now, the white box with the little red "X" inside.

For the arcades, I think I posted a post some time ago saying that two vars had to be added at the top of the function that build up the arcade.

For the first issue, it must have fixed it, refresh your browser cache perhaps javascripts files are currently cached and you are running old version due to that.

Do you have a specific configuration for the chatbox ? Like collapsed by default or something like that ?

The only way to do so is to use the little trick which is in the readme and normally supposed to be for style issues.

You'll thus be able to have the chatbox in a variable on forumhome and so you can place it where you want :)

Unstickying a message will go to http://mysite.com/#mgc_cb_evo_top instead of http://mysite.com/forum/#mgc_cb_evo_top. Similar to minimalising/maximalising a category (or chatbox), however in this case not working whilst is was in 1.5.x.

If I have thread notification off it works fine. I also have it set to a separate column for notifications with the user name and notification on one line. Unstickying a message shouldn't redirect you as everything is done in javascript with Ajax => no page reloading.

Are you sure you have the very last version of the files ? There was an early bug in 2.3.1 that I quickly corrected.

Download the zip file again and reimport the product.

No the separation is not yet possible.

I Have tried both ways VBDev it doesnt seem to make a difference, I also have another issue, affecting one member:

I will try a clean install of the latest mgc chat removing the old one completely see if this solves the issue.

There seems to be a conflict with this mod as the message they are getting refers to a double post, i disabled this mod and working fine. Maybe something you can check with the author. It was also stopping announcements in the chat with this error.

All you need to do is add the following using team one as an example: mgc_cb_evo_team

so you would add for yours elites or if you rename them mgc_cb_evo_elites

Bug: Also, When Trying to Edit a Posted Chat Message on the ChatBox, the Message doesn't Return to the Normal Not Edit View, and When I Try Immediately to Edit another Message and Cancel the Edit the Second Message Gets the Text of the First Edited One.

I Hope You Can Fix This Bugs.

Edit 1: I Remembered that I Had the "Automatic refresh activation" Option Set to "No" and the "Refresh rate in seconds" set to Zero "0"; I set the first Option to "Yes" and the Second One to a Number of Seconds (30), and then the Edits Worked Fine.

I Think that's Still a Bug There because the Message Edits Should Update No Matter if the Automatic Refresh Activation is set to "No" and/or the "Refresh rate in seconds" is set to Zero "0" (Deactivated), because is an Edit, and the Refresh Button is Present (I'm Supossed to Refresh the ChatVox With It). ;)

But Still is Important that You Check Why if "Refresh rate in seconds" is set to Zero "0" the ChatBox Doesn't Refresh After an Edit and the Errors I mentioned Before my First Edit to this Post, are Happening. :confused:

yeah all edits are in place was working fine before the update, removed the list added list tried both options variable and nav bar position still nothing.

each image is in 3 parts, if you look at the others you will see what i mean,
upload your image to /yourforum/images/misc/mgc_cb_evo/channels/

Bug: I Just Noticed that when I Try to Apply a Bold or an Italic or an Underline, and also when I try to Apply a Color, it Applies it to All the Chat Message, even if I'm selecting the Words I'd like to Apply it to. :(

I Think that's Still a Bug There because the Message Edits Should Update No Matter if the Automatic Refresh Activation is set to "No" and/or the "Refresh rate in seconds" is set to Zero "0" (Deactivated), because is an Edit, and the Refresh Button is Present (I'm Supossed to Refresh the ChatVox With It). ;)

Edit 2 (Partial Solution): If I Set the "Automatic refresh activation" Option Set to "No" and the "Refresh rate in seconds" to a Number Different than Zero "0" for Admin Usergroup, I noticed that Edits Can be Done Well and the ChatBox is Refreshed after Each Post Edit. :up:

But Still is Important that You Check Why if "Refresh rate in seconds" is set to Zero "0" the ChatBox Doesn't Refresh After an Edit and the Errors I mentioned Before my First Edit to this Post, are Happening. :confused:

Bug: I Just Noticed that when I Try to Apply a Bold or an Italic or an Underline, and also when I try to Apply a Color, it Applies it to All the Chat Message, even if I'm selecting the Words I'd like to Apply it to. :(

Well I think it's totally unuseful to be able to do it for only a small part of the text as honestly due to the chatbox input size it's bearly unreadable.
However if other requests for such thing I might change my advice.

When I change SIZE of font, I cannot return it to DEFAULT value until I go to UserCP -> Edit Options, and on bottom (chat options) return to defaults!!! And if I this option turn to NO, my chats are NOT FORMATED!?

Not sure I do understand, you mean that when you select Default in the list you don't get back to forum default for this usergroup right ?

Well just tested and it works ! I think you haven't set correctly the options.

Here is how I did it :

In display and position options I have set Show the chatbox on all pages below the navbar to Yes then in the page list field I have put usercp,profile,private,online

And chatbox is shown in my usercp pages and in the whosonline.

Are you sure you did upload all chatbox files correctly ? Especially the one in includes/xml directory !!

Check that you use a ftp software that don't make nuts like filezilla does sometime.

Do you have the menu_open.gif image in the misc directory ?

Do you have a {IF} before your images path in the stylevars option within the template manager ?

Well the edit tip is not the right way to do it.

After upgrade you should have run a script, it's stated in the instructions. If you didn't run that script then it's normal that username weren't appearing.

get-min.js is not part of the chatbox that's strange.

I've tried creating a new style with no parent style, hoping that the code wouldn't be injected, but the chatbox still shows up. Hopefully this is an easy answer. How can I get the chatbox "not" to show up on a certain style. I've tried creating a new style with no parent style, hoping that the code wouldn't be injected, but the chatbox still shows up. What template do I need to edit and what part needs to be edited to remove the chatbox from, for instance, my iphone style.?

"Easy", I won't say that but it's feasible.

A way to do it is to look at the style issue fix in the readme. It explains you how to put chatbox on a var for forumhome.

Then just insert it only in the needed style :)

The only way to seem to fix the problem and show current text users post is to literally refresh the entire page containing the chatbox.

Well it depends. If it's on forumhome, forumdisplay and showthread, then you have the display options for that or you can do the edit for the 3 related plugin. It's explained for forumhome in the readme but can be replicated accordingly on the two others.

For other pages, you can use the show chatbox in a variable on all pages :) See Display and position options.

No you shouldn't be encountering this issue anymore.

User that reported such problem hadn't updated files correctly. Check that they are correctly uploaded especially if you are using filezilla.

Sometimes I have a problem where if foreign characters are used (such as Japanese) the text stops appearing. It doesn't happen all the time, but it only happens when foreign characters are used. Sorry if it was mentioned already, I didn't see it scanning back through the pages.
