I use version 7.84 with vBulletin 4.2.2 patch level 4

I have this error when I want delete post:


Database error in vBulletin 4.2.0:

Invalid SQL:

UPDATE user
SET post_thanks_thanked_times = post_thanks_thanked_times - 2, post_thanks_thanked_posts = post_thanks_thanked_posts - 1, reputation = reputation - 2

Check out Dragonbytes thank/like mod. It will import your current thanks, and I'd be surprised if it didnt let you like blog posts.

- Original File Specs: post_thanks_7_82.zip (26.4 KB, 24844 downloads) - Original file removed, replaced with patched files including search fix (some admins noticed hackers attempting to use outdated code to exploit search in attempt to gain administrator password or similar).
- There are five total patched versions available, some with and without the search fix - I've replaced the main file with the patched versions... please be sure to download and install the correct version, the main mod post contains links to additional information and patched files!

Edit: To be clear, there was no exploit in the original file (that we could see, BOP5 checked it) however Marv noticed some odd database errors and then subsequently asked Dave to look into the code - basically the search table was being used when it should not have been so instead of leaving up one single download link and having many members assume it was current I decided to remove the primary download and replace with patched versions THEREFOR you need to read the two posts by Hippy and ForceHSS (links to those post in the main mod description above) to ensure you're downloading and installing the correct version.

Special thanks to Marv (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=15464) for the report and suggestion plus Dave (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=386389)'s assistance as well.

That I'm not totally sure of, the file in question is from this post:

The datelines confuse me... so not sure if the 7.85 came after the 7.84 or not due to how those dates are formatted but one would assume a .85 would come after a .84 since its a higher number and if we follow the normal version number guidelines per say. The reason I removed the original file was to avoid having future users of this mod report odd database errors thus prevent them from becoming seemingly "freaked out" by what appears to be a hacking attempt to their forum. Edit: You could send ForceHSS (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=248695) a PM asking for clarification on that though Nevermind I just sent ForceHSS and pm and asked for clarification ;).

If you're receiving any odd database error emails containing an sql error such as:

I would update as someone is actively trying to exploit your forum and/or information and while its more so a mistake in using the table as Dave mentioned to Marv its still the fact they have somewhere/something to plug away at i.e. trying to exploit so best to nip it in the bud imo.

I didn't update anything simply replaced the attachment in the mods post. So in other words I didn't change anything, if you were using Force or Hippy's modified version they're still exactly the same ;).

Edit: *This does not mean that you're required to upgrade, it's an updated version from ForceHSS including small fixes and the search fix so with that said, you only need to update if you want the search fix in place and the small bugs sorted (one of which is a comma between usernames to make it display better etc). Also, can the "Collapse" button be removed totally, so that the default of the list of members who give thanks is always showing? Depends on what you like in a plugin try both and then pick the one you like. The 7.86 version has had a lot of fixes done by me and a lot of the code changed and new things added compared to the original one. I don't use it myself as I have the pro version of dbtech plugin, but as I said it depends what you are looking for in a plugin so do test each one

You need to upload all files to your ftp overwriting the old ones and do the same with the xml in your admincp. Do not use your cpanel to upload anything

I might be blind but I cant find how and where I enable how many Likes a user has given in postbit. I can see how many times someone else has liked (user) but I cant see how many times that user has liked other threads. Where do I enable this?

I am using this mod since beginning, i need a function that user get notification when receive thanks. I am well aware of DBTech mod is more good but its really tough decision for me to uninstall this and install a new mod because everyone will lose thanks they received before. I am not sure if its meant to work on the mobile style I am not the original coder and I have never put the code in for the mobile style so I don't know if the original coder did. When I get some free time I will check over the coding if its not added will see what I can do. No promises as this is a very old mod and the coder no longer supports it

Great mod and a lot of people on our board like this. I'm fine with playing with the postbit however was wondering if someone has got there before me.

Would like to have the Remove All and Remove Your Thanks not only justified right, but all the way over on the far right side of the post... and also (not as important) the font a size or two smaller.

Not sure if anyone can help. I tried searching for answers in this thread but it's an awfully large thread!!

I've been using this hack for a long time now, a few years at last. Starting about a month ago, it's taking an awfully long time to load the notifications. Giving someone a thanks takes one second of course.

But if I login, and it tells me I have 3 new thanks, and I click on that, it may take 30-60 seconds to load in order to show me who thanked my posts.

I tried repairing and optimizing tables, and it made no difference. I also overwrote the files, reinstall, no luck.

Anyone have any ideas?

You should read through the thread to see exactly what the differences are between those 3 versions, and pick the one you feel best suits your needs. Keep in mind you will get limited support whichever version you choose, for reasons given in the product description post.

On a side note: I've noticed your posts here of late, and the difficulties you have been citing...please allow me to recommend you upgrade to vB 4.2.3...you will find most products published in the last several years are geared towards 4.2.x and you *should* find your going will be easier if you upgrade. :)

We have this mod running great on a 3.9.8 forum (atm) and here is what I'd like to do.
I have an off topic category on our forum that I've disabled the Thanks Mod up until now and it's doing exactly what it should.

Okay now I want to enable the Thanks Button but I don't want the thanks to count towards anything. I would just like it to show up in the postbit for the user who posted his/her funny post/thread and received 20 thanks in the.

I don't want it to show anywhere else.
Is this possible, hopefully easy? :)

For some reason, when any user clicks the "Thanks" button to give thanks, they're being redirected to a "You do not have permission to access this page" message (like when trying to view a private forum).

Even though you get redirected to the error page, the thanks does still added to the thanked post.

I can "Remove your thanks" without seeing the error message, however the page does refresh when you click it which I think is strange.

Is there a fix for this, or does anyone have any idea what could be causing it?

edit - I'm using vb 4.2.12 and the most recent version of this hack.

I have usergroup promotions scheduled when a user hits 5+ reputation count. I have included a plugin within the 'post_thanks_main_add_thanks_end' hook which i dont think is a problem.

The problem is the scheduled task dosnt seem to be promoting/demoting members which this MOD enabled.

Couple of formatting problems I'd appreciate some help with. When the hack is enabled to show in the postbit:

- the "Thanked x times in x posts" box exceeds the width of the postbit. Is there any way to change the format or the phrase? Would also like "Thanked" to be formatted in the same blue colour as in the "Thanks" box above.

- I'm using the Wy Flags add on but would like the Thanks/Thanked boxes to appear above the flags. Had a few tries at editing postbit_legacy without any success

Discovered a bug

Any user that has posted as a guest, or a user that has been removed from the forum and their posts still exist.. there is still an option below their post to Thank them. Obv thanking them results in a PHP error (PHP Warning: array_merge(): Argument #2 is not an array in ..../post_thanks.php on line 63)

Normally, I refrain from promoting a competing product in a product's support thread, but this product was released 9 years ago, and the developer hasn't been online for almost 7 years.

I highly recommend using DBTech's thanks product instead...this product is simply not written for vB 4.2.x, much less for PHP 7.x. DBTech's product is currently actively supported, particularly for the latest version of vB 4.2.x and PHP. ;)

Try selecting manage products and down the bottom select 'add/import product' this takes you to the import page where you can select the XML file.

Yes I've done all that and now what seems to happen is the 'thanks' shows up under the posts but there isn't an image next to the text and once the button has been clicked it disappears and doesn't register the thanks. This makes me think somethings not linking up properly?

This plugin probably is not compatible with php 7.1. When I upgrade my site to php 7.1, thanks buttons give an error starting with "[]operator not supported for strings online..."

All of those files need uploading via ftp, its the contents of the of the upload folder that need Ftp'ing to your forum directory so up to public_html\forum or to www.\forum where forum will be the name of your forum folder. You don't need to place anything anywhere yourself, FTP is intelligent uploading and follows the structures laid out in both the upload folder and the destination folder.

You only import the product_postthanks.xml (or whatever the name) via the forum admincp.

7.88 appears to work with 4.2.5, however, you have to open product-post_thanks-7.88.xml and change maxversion to "4.2.6" or it will fail the dependency check and won't install.

In the first lines, you see dependencies lines. Change the related value to 4.2.5 (max-version or version)

I have changed my theme and also hosting and users like all of them gone. I have old db and it is possible to recall them with insert ün phpmyadmin or something else?

If they physically no longer exist in the database, then when you moved to new hosting the database import was not done properly.

If they are there then it's probably your custom theme and you will need to reapply any changes so they appear in this theme.

I think database import wasnt succesfull. Now in postbit like counter started like new but users experience is looking good, I just didnt see in postbit old likes count.

For example I was have 5000 like and was seeing in my postbit, but now all users including me deleted or not imported properly.

Then, you have the values of post thanks of your SQL backup.

Hello there, been using this product on Vbulletin 4x for a number of years with no issues - recently however the thanks button does not function when using Tapatalk....... anyone had this issue or know of a fix? The button is still visible, it just nothing when you attempt to click it now.

#1 still has the issue with PHP 7.0 (i've seen many others post about this - its a major issue that no one has attempted to fix). It seems to be linked to the option "Remove User's Thanks Count When Deleting Post" - when this is set to No then it deletes no problem.

#2 is fixed when revert back to PHP 7.0. We need to be on PHP 7.1

7.88 has these errors. Whatever you tested wasn't the error we are reporting.

Honestly - you saying it works on PHP 7.1 just shows you're either lying or you don't know what you are doing. This issue is verified 100%.

Yes, its possible if you have a old database backup before lost this likes.

Only you need export from old backup database and import in new database.
