I don't and it isn't just you, trust me. That said it is good practice to either search a long thread like this or at the very least read the last few pages to see if your question has been asked and answered. Several times a week people ask the same question in this thread.

EDIT: I got it figured out. The link to the "Likes" conversion system was great. Some of the templates were out of date but it wasn't very hard to modify them. Thank you!

7 83 installs fine for me on version 4.1.12, but with or without the alleged 'search fix'... I can't do any searched based on thanked posts. I've tried it with both versions of post_thanks.php (the 'normal' one and the one that 'fixes it').

If you had attempted to install that version you would NOT have gotten compatibility issues. That version has no max vb version defined.

So if you got an error about an incompatible version you must have accidentally tried installing the original file.

I understand... the file I tried to install did indeed have a blank version for compatibility.

I know I tried to install the right one because I edited it to be max version 4.2.0 and used that XML and received the error still.

Thanks! It's all working now. Regarding customization.

How would one go about changing the background color of the area where it says "The following users...." and change the font size of the names displayed? Right off the back it looks pretty large.

but you can seach for this in your template groups

and play with the padding
(will alter your padding else wares on the forum .so watch what you change)
as for the font
it should be the same as whats being use d on the forum..

it's using the forums stylevars and css
so what ever you change will affect the forum as well
you would have to recode it ..

anyway you can change the font size by searching for

and see what stylevar it is and change the font from 14 to what ver you like

The answer is absolutely not. Until Abe1 returns to give permission this mod will never be updated in the first post and no one will ever be able to release their own version elsewhere.

That said, installing *ANY* mod without reading AT LEAST the first post is DUMB- you have no idea what you are installing or what it may do to your forum. I can understand when someone seeing 50 pages of comments and aren't going to read them all- but the first post? No excuses.

That was my first thought, but actually, someone mentioned how cluttered up the stream would be if this was done.

And having thought about it, I agree.

I went instead with THIS (http://www.bowlandcentral.com/forum/likes.php?), and I'm leaving the activity stream like/thanks free. I want the stream to show actual content that I can encourage people to read and reply to, not likes/thanks.

it does something similar
it will display recent thanks and the amount
note* the members will still get the reputation and view it in the settings
but will not see a notification for a post or thread thanked
they will now see recent thanks

there is a new option in the Admincp called

User Reputation Options
under there set Enable New Reputation Comments Notification to yes
so if a member uses the default give reputation they will receive a notification
and for a post thanks they will see recent thanks

Want to add a new phrase to this mod.

This is because I'm using it in a forum in Portuguese (pt-pt) and want to do the translation, however note that the same phrase is used in two different places, for English is no problem, but Portuguese is ...

The phrase "post_thanks_thanks" is used in the template <post_thanks_postbit_info> and <post_thanks_button>.
I have a phrase for a different set of these sites as I do.

I've tried to add the phrase by the board administrator Phrases, but does not work.

I've installed this, and all is work:ng ok, but since I installed this mod, the line Down the left under user name and avatar which says "xx blog entries" is partly on the same line as "thanked xx times in xx posts". Is there anyway to move this down so the blog entry line moves down so its all under the thanks line? I can provide a screenshot for more clarity if my description is not clear enough.

Hi fellas, quick question:

I've installed this, and all is work:ng ok, but since I installed this mod, the line Down the left under user name and avatar which says "xx blog entries" is partly on the same line as "thanked xx times in xx posts". Is there anyway to move this down so the blog entry line moves down so its all under the thanks line? I can provide a screenshot for more clarity if my description is not clear enough.

Also, as a seperate issue, does anyone know of a fix for how to get the thanks working in the default mobile style? as the thanks button does not show on mine as of yet, but it would be nice to be able to add this feature for mobile browsing also if possible.

I will have to search for the changes to make it work.

if you look at the template the

and the thanked x times in x posts

I see two issues there the alignment of the Postbit , Back a couple parts I posted a fix . The button I don't see it, are they in the correct folder? Are you using a custom style that uses it's own image dir? If so you'll need to add the two buttons to that image dir As well

Nothing is obvious with anything thing custom ... if I was home I could test before posting..I can fix it but not from my cell phone. Lol... your doing good so far . Keep playing.. If you don't get it. I'll be of more help when I get home with those skins they are using a field set around each area like post s joined etc you'll need to add that for it to display correctly

since your are using postbit_legacy

you need to open up your post thanks template group and replace your post_thanks_postbit_info template

and see if there is any red templates
you need to revert them back

did you upload all files ? and allowed them to be over writen

Hippy there was one red template, the postbit template (all I changed was the text, ie the following users say thanks for this). Anyways I reverted it and still same issue.

Weird thing is though, once I remove my thanks and the box disappears, if I refresh the page it comes back so it's not a wicked big deal, I mean it's not like if I remove my thanks the box disappears for everyone else too. Kind of bizarre.

That was my first thought, but actually, someone mentioned how cluttered up the stream would be if this was done.

And having thought about it, I agree.

I went instead with THIS (http://www.bowlandcentral.com/forum/likes.php?), and I'm leaving the activity stream like/thanks free. I want the stream to show actual content that I can encourage people to read and reply to, not likes/thanks.

a few minutes ago i downloaded the (ajax) thank you hack . im currently running vb 4.2.0 and followed the instructions - at the end it says - Import product-post_thanks.xml into PRODUCTS. Allow Overwrite "YES" (admincp -> Plugin System -> Manage Products -> [Add/Import Product])

their does not seem to be a file named that in the download that i can see can anyone help?

Hello, i'm running vb 4.2 and was using 7.83 post thank you hack, running smooth except this one :

Upgrading to 7.84 and still finding this kind of error.


You can see that every User separated by comma, but i want to add a space to make it looks More beautiful.

So it's should be like this :

Added it after </a> and it becoming like User ,User1 ,User2. So I add it before the <a..... And it works like magic!

happy you got it fixed no idea why it messed up in the first place could of been from another plugin some how it removed part of the coding you needed as it should be like that default from vb

try the one with out search
on another note I have put in alot of fixes so you should not get that problem any more so you should not need the search fix version now

Then I would talk to them as it is there skin you could try removing the skin and reinstalling it see if that helps but as you could of make custom changes it is hard to help even if you did give a link to it which you have not
