Big Bug--

When activated, nobody can login. You enter your login details and click on the submit button and it takes you to a blank page. You can't even login to the AdminCP. Now you can try loging into the AdminCP and then if you know a link in it get in the back way.

NOTE - this is with a perfectly untouched copyright and footer.

I'm working on it as we speak! I'll send another update notification when ready.

If advertisements are appearing twice, it means that either the template edit has been made twice or that you are using both the template edit and the automatic template edit. You can test this by disabling automatic template edits in Global Settings and seeing if the second advertisement goes away.

I have a question on google adsense

Lets says I have 100 posts, and banners to show every 10 posts...
that would be 10 banner rotations, would that not violate
googles TOS? I thnk google only allows 3 banner roations on
any giving banner type.

Yes, you should only do 3 per page. In fact I don't think it's possible to do more than 3 per page.

Ive had no problem with it since i installed v4 earlier today.
I did not update, I just erased everything and started over,
so I dont know i need to overwrite reds update files or not.

I have upgraded from 3.14 to the new v4.0 however I still have a left over part in my vbulletin options. has anyone a clue as to why there is a "vB Ad Management Global Settings" left in the vBulletin Options, Vbulletin Options,. I followed the remaval of vb Ads and reinstalled but something is still left. any help would be greatful.

I am sorry, it looks like you have lost your advertisements. My assumption was that people would read the manual before upgrading, I will make this clearer with the next update.

When V4 installed there seems to be a conflict with the Management Attachments popup window failing to properly connect to server and display contents for adding new attachments to a thread.

Tried reinstalling v4, checked v4 file locations for proper placement, checked permissions etc.
At present time am first disabling ad system to add attachments by using the browsing and uploading buttons, then re-enabling ad system after attachments added to thread.

Anyone else experiencing problems with attachments?

Well I decided to do the removal of 3.14 and upgrade to 4.00 tonight on my test forum.

The removal of 3.14 went well - no issues at all. The install of 4.xx seemed to go well until I tried to view the forum and I now get:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare cache_styles() in /home/windows/public_html/forums_test/includes/local_links_include.php on line 1005

So it looks like there may be a Mod conflict there?

I've already replaced the vb_ad_management.php and vb_ad_management.xml files and it makes no difference.

So unless you have a solution it looks like I'm stuck with 3.14 :(

Got it installed (before it was pulled) and working but a few questions:

- The option for removing sponsored ads - seems to have vanished from the control panel as to where we can set the disablement url. It now seems to be defaulting to registering on site link?

- On the style I use the auto-add templtes appear not to be working so I've added back in the style template edits from 3.14 and these seem to be working well.

The first problem is stopping me going live....

then admincp loads, and thread/mod tools come up with a blank screen when i try a mod tools...

Hello! I have this mod installed on nearly all of my forum communities. I am trying to make the post ads float to the right so that all post text is wrapped around it on the left. But no matter how I put the float code in or where I put it, it just won't work. I don't understand it. I must be over looking something simple. Does anyone know where to place the float code and how to best write it?

For now, I put the float code in postbit template, wrapped around the postbit_advertisement variable, but it doesn't work...

I have confirmed that your scipt has something to do with admincp and the mod tools not permforming properly.. someone gave me the idea to disable the script, and everything works just fine, when the ad management is on, then those items do not work.

That's as may be, but that doesn't mean it is a bad idea. I tested it by using it to rotate though some highlighted threads, no problem there. If you are not allowed to use it, don't. :)

Edit: In earlier versions I did include some warnings about violating terms of service but I no longer do that. It's not my responsibility to check up on what your terms of service allow.

That's already possible and it is very easy. You don't even have to work out the custom ones because they're almost exactly the same as everything else.

Go to the custom section, choose from the dropdown menu at the top how many custom adcode blocks you want, click save, when the page refreshes there will be that many custom advertisements available. They're set up and used in exactly the same way as the rest of the adcode blocks, aside from selecting which template to use them in. But when making template edits, use the $GLOBALS version (bottom of the automatic insertion examples).

Hi,

I am having trouble with the ajax rotator. I have an iframe adcode from an advertiser. When the ad roatates it is adding a slash to the iframe src url. For example:

When the ajax refreshes the block I get a 404 in the iframe as the url is now "/http://www.domain.com/aff.html" (notice the slash before http).

Any way to solve this?

That is the exact code (except I am editting out the domain name). I get a 404 message that says exactly:
The requested URL /"http://www.domain.com/aff.html" was not found on this server.

(FYI in the admincp: The requested URL /admincp/"http://www.domain.com/aff.html" was not found on this server.)

This is in a custom adcode block. On the initial pageload it works fine, but when the ajax refreshes the block I get the 404.

Some more issues with the ajax refresh. In the header adcode I have:

Let's say that on the initial pageload "Testing" is what loads first. When the ajax refreshes the block, "Testing" does not disappear, and "Test" loads above it. "Test" will start to refresh, but the original "Testing" never disappears while the other refreshes.

That probably made no sense whatsoever, but that is the best I can explain it.

Ive just uninstalled the old 3.x version using the info provided and installed 4.01 on my 3.6.7 site.

The header ads work fine but postbit ads seem to be duplicated :confused:

They are also duplicated in threadbit and footer ads. All my ads are Google Adsense

Ive checked the posbit template and I can only see one reference to adverts
$template_hook[postbit_end]
$postbit_advertisement


Any ideas ?

I put yes, but dont show nothing on the search results.

I not using automatic insertion, because I have the lines in the code from the previous version, now I think I need to add "$postbit_advertisement" on the search templates, but i dont where exactly on the code.

I dont want to use automatic insertion for better performance.

I'm not sure what you are saying? There are options to disable by usergroup in the "Global Settings".

If you want to remove the "Remove Advertisements" link for logged in users you have to edit whichever ad template you want to remove it from. For example: You want to remove the link from your header adblock follow these steps:

Go to:
AdminCP->Style manager->"Your Style"-Edit Templates->Advertisement Templates->advertisement_header.

Find:
<phrase 1="$vboptions[bburl]">$vbphrase[adintegrate_remove_ads]</phrase>

Replace with:
<if condition="in_array($bbuserinfo[usergroupid], array(1,3,4))">
<phrase 1="$vboptions[bburl]">$vbphrase[adintegrate_remove_ads]</phrase>

I'm a bit new to advertising on the forums and don't quite understand some of the terms and purposes for some features.

Can someone please tell me what purpose Ad Sharing serves? I'm trying to determine if it's something we want to consider. I understand it as a way to allow users to advertise, but how exactly?

OK, loaded 4.0.1 and everything seems to be running fine, EXCEPT the AJAX.

Regardless of where you run a add if AJAX is turned on after the last ad I get the following Parse Error (I removed my domain and replaced it with domainname.com)

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /chroot/home/livingli/domainname.com/html/forum/ajax.php(44) : eval()'d code on line 1

I am not sure if this is a setting I have wrong, aka operator error, or if its a actual bug.

When I input a beginning and expiration date into the Left & Right columns, Forumbit and Threadbit advertisement timespan box, the time doesn't save. If I input the same beginning and expiration date into the Header, Navbar, Footer, Postbit, Header Archive or Footer Archive advertisement timespan it saves it just fine.

The date/time I input was: 2007-12-03 22:14:00 | 2007-12-14 01:59:00

BTW, for those that don't already know, the advertisement timespan uses the servers time, not the users machine time. You'll need to find out the timezone of your server and adjust the time you enter into the advertisement timespan box accordingly. Example: If your server is located in the Mountain Timezone and you live in the Eastern Timezone. Make sure you input the time you want the ad to expire -2 hours. ok, i dont know if i missed something stupid, but i uninstalled 3.14 and installed the newest version 4.01.
The install looks to be ok, except when i go into setup my ads, i enable headers ads, paste in my code, click save.. and bam.. it reverts to no code and headers disabled.
its like it wont retain my settings..

Ive been having a good search around to find something that can cater for what Im after. After installing this ad-on, I realised that the left & right columns show up in the forum table, where as I'm wanting to put adverts down the right hand of the screen next to the forum.

Ive attached an image below so you can see what mean. I would like to display adverts down the right on the green background.

Is there a way I can modify the Left & Right Columns (although Ill only be using the left at this stage) so that the adverts are put into the space/s on either side of the forum? Or maybe I need to use a different mod? - please feel free to direct me elsewhere if there is a more suitable mod for what I'm trying to do. Any help would be very much appreciated! :D

Sorry this is Bullshit.
There has to be a Bugfix that removes the Link for all Users that are set to see Ads automatically. It makes no sense to show the Link to anyone that is set to see the Ads.

BTW - do you know which part of Postbittemplates is wrong to delete the doubled Ads in them?

Depends which template its in. Open that template and look for multiple instances of $x_advertisement in the template. That should be included only once, unless you're using automatic template edits in which case it shouldn't be included at all.

It's possible that a different columns modification will do the job, but I doubt it. They'll all be designed to work with the default theme and yours is not default which is why it is not doing what you want. See this FAQ entry:

When I input a beginning and expiration date into the Left & Right columns, Forumbit and Threadbit advertisement timespan box, the time doesn't save. If I input the same beginning and expiration date into the Header, Navbar, Footer, Postbit, Header Archive or Footer Archive advertisement timespan it saves it just fine.

Try a complete uninstallation again, make sure all files are removed from your server, then try again.

Bit difficult to tell from just that information. :) It sounds like you may need to make the template edits manually.

OK, loaded 4.0.1 and everything seems to be running fine, EXCEPT the AJAX.

Regardless of where you run a add if AJAX is turned on after the last ad I get the following Parse Error (I removed my domain and replaced it with domainname.com)

I am not sure if this is a setting I have wrong, aka operator error, or if its a actual bug.

Sounds like you have either accidentally edited the vb_ad_management.xml file, there's a conflict with the adcode you're trying to use or there's a possible conflict with another modification.

If reuploading a definitely-unedited product file doesn't work, tell me what adcode you are using with the AJAX bit.

I'm a bit new to advertising on the forums and don't quite understand some of the terms and purposes for some features.

Can someone please tell me what purpose Ad Sharing serves? I'm trying to determine if it's something we want to consider. I understand it as a way to allow users to advertise, but how exactly?

Reading the manual it all fine and dandy, but I'm not understanding how it's actually implemented. Can someone actually SHOW me an example of this?

It allows you to set a percentage chance where a user's advertisement will be used instead of your own. A user puts their advertisement code in their profile and starts a thread. As a reward, they have a 10% chance say of their advertisement being shown instead of your own. Thus in theory you have handed over 10% of your ad revenue to them.

That's if you set the entire adcode to be shared. You could use adsense for example and just share the publisher ID, meaning the advertisement doesn't change but where the money goes from clicks changes to them.

1) You can use template conditionals, there's a bit about what they are and how they work here (http://redtyger.co.uk/manual.php?product=vB+Ad+Management#conditionals). In your case, your adcode would look like this:

Just change 1,2,3 to the forum IDs of your xxx forums. You can add or take away as many as you like.

2) You need to add $postbit_advertisement to the search_results_postbit template. My mistake, that's missing from the manual. :) You can add it where you like in the template, if you don't like where it is you can just move it until you do.

Ive had a look at the FAQ and just wanted to clarify something before going any further in getting it to work for me.

Is the right and left column, by default, in the default VB theme supposed to appear as they are here? (when I turn it on, it stretches the board, so messes up the header because its fixed width, but thats not the issue here, I just need to know if the sponsored links box is appearing in the the place its intended by default)


Because in regards to major structural changes, Ive only customized the theme by moving the forums to the left so more of the background is showing. So if you are able to confirm that the image above, shows the adverts in the place that thy are intended to be, then I can know if its a template customization on my part thats the problem, or if I need to customize this mod to do what I need. - which is to have them sitting on the background, to the right of the forums.

I ws suffering from the ads displaying twice :eek:

This happened because I had made template edits for the previous version and enabled Automatically insert advertisements.

So there are 2 ways to resolve this:

1) Disable Automatically insert advertisements

OR

2) Enable Automatically insert advertisements and Remove the previous versions template edits by reversing these steps


Go to Style Manager > Edit Templates and...

Find <!-- post $post[postid] popup menu --> and paste $postbit_advertisement above it in your postbit & postbit_legacy templates.

Paste $forumbit_advertisement at the bottom of your forumhome_forumbit_level1_post and forumhome_forumbit_level2_post templates.

Paste $threadbit_advertisement at the bottom of your threadbit template.

Paste $footer_advertisement at the top of your footer template.

Find $spacer_close in your footer template and below it paste $rightcolumn_advertisement.

Find &nbsp; in your header template and replace it with $header_advertisement.

Find $spacer_open in your header template and below it paste $leftcolumn_advertisement.


I also found that Ad Manager 4.01 clashes with the Links and Downloads Manager mod resulting in these errors:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare cache_styles() in /xxxxx/includes/local_links_include.php on line 1120

I'm having a duplication issue as well, but mine might be a bit different. I've installed v4.01 on a fresh vBulletin install. I've made no template edits for vB Ad Management - using automatic template placement.

My duplication issue is within the forumbit. When I have an ad on forum 2 (Upcoming Events), and then try to place the same ad in forum 61 (Woodsball Tactics & Strategy), the ad in forum 2 displays as it should, but duplication occurs on forum 61.

The duplication seems to occur when the ad appears in separate categories (Talk Paintball vs. Woodsball Specific Forums). So if I move the the second ad from forum 61 to forum 8 (Off Topic Discussion) so that both ads appear under the Talk Paintball category, everything is fine. I've tried to move the ad around to different forums and each time I get duplicate ads.

It appears that you have not installed the vb_ad_management_english.xml file yet. Import it just like you installed the main mod. It's in the languages folder.

Well, turning it on and off is clean. :) It's because using usergroup permissions and so on is inefficient. It was moved to this method because the previous method was not particularly efficient either, and this way it can be set up to do anything you want instead of just on or off. You will have to edit the templates if you want to assign conditionals to the phrase.

RedTyger, I'm not really sure if this was an issue or deliberate, but when activating the Sponsors under Footer & Sponsors, the collapse_tcat.gif graphic is not matching the current theme. After digging into the templates, I found that the advertisement_sponsors template is using an absolute link to the collapse_tcat.gif file...

On his site, red said there was no way to upgrade from 3.14 to 4.01. You would have to delete the whole thing and reinstall it.

Because adding AdminCP options - especially more complex ones - is not efficient. I'm sorry you do not like the new method but it will not be changed back. You must use template conditionals for the link if you only want some usergroups to see it.

Depends which template its in. Open that template and look for multiple instances of $x_advertisement in the template. That should be included only once, unless you're using automatic template edits in which case it shouldn't be included at all.

Hi sorry, that's $x_advertisement where x is the name of the template. So if its the header, search for $header_advertisement, etc.

1) No, it's the standard vBulletin footer template, nothing to do with the modification. It has...

Because adding AdminCP options - especially more complex ones - is not efficient. I'm sorry you do not like the new method but it will not be changed back. You must use template conditionals for the link if you only want some usergroups to see it.

I am having trouble with the ajax rotator. I have an iframe adcode from an advertiser. When the ad roatates it is adding a slash to the iframe src url. For example:

When the ajax refreshes the block I get a 404 in the iframe as the url is now "/http://www.domain.com/aff.html" (notice the slash before http).

Any way to solve this?

Hi,

That is the exact code (except I am editting out the domain name). I get a 404 message that says exactly:
The requested URL /"http://www.domain.com/aff.html" was not found on this server.

(FYI in the admincp: The requested URL /admincp/"http://www.domain.com/aff.html" was not found on this server.)

This is in a custom adcode block. On the initial pageload it works fine, but when the ajax refreshes the block I get the 404.

2) If I have the auto-refresh turned on for the header and left hand column every few changes the header (landscape advert) is refreshed with the LH column advert which is a skyscraper - which can look awful. Due to this I've had to turn rotation off.

1) Try adding $sponsors_advertisement to your footer template and see if that works. If not, try testing with plain text as a sponsor and see if that works.

You have not uploaded the uploads/admincp/vb_ad_management.php file from the sound of it.

If the advertisements are being inserted into your forum then vB Ad Management has done its job. Updating Adsense is up to Google.

Mobile advertisements would probably not use templates. Or do you mean the forum itself? Hence it is missing, there's just no mobile support in vBulletin unless it has been custom added and almost nobody will have done that. A shame, but there you go.

Someone did say they would do a German translation, but I doubt it is done yet. The English one has only just come out. :)

Yes, the dropdown menu excludes "bit" templates. These are repeating templates like postbit and forumbit. Because they are repeating, additional code is needed to prevent advertisements repeating with them and the code is different between each "bit" template so it must be pre-written into the modification. There's no real way around it I'm afraid.

Just edit the phrase adintegrate_remove_ads using the AdminCP's Phrase Manager and in the translation box put a single space. You can change it back any time you want.

To center the post advertisements, edit the advertisement_postbit template and change <div id="postbit_adcode" to <div id="postbit_adcode style="text-align:center"

Problem #1
I have alignment issues when using just plain text in the left column advertisement and right column advertisement. As you descend the forum, from main page ...to thread, there are table misalignments and generally large gaps between the left column ad and the main vBulletin table that lists the forums/threads, etc.

Anyone have a solution to this? I've been mucking with the leftcolumn_advertisement template to no avail. This is for adManagement v3.14 w/ vBulletin 3.6.8

Problem #2
Ad's dont seem to be refreshing at times - I get blank banners at times.
NOT AN AD MANAGEMENT PROBLEM. AD SENSE PERMITS ONLY 3 ADS PER PAGE. IF YOU GO OVER THE LIMIT, THEY BLANK ADS I leave this comment here for others who may run into the same problem so they know the solution instead of finding NO ANSWERS like most of these posts contain- problems w/ no answers.

I tried 4.1 but the vbAd Management did not show up properly in the adminCP so I reverted back for the time being. I will play with 4.1 after I solve this table alignment issue.

P.S. Some of you need to try a little harder on working on your problems instead of begging the poor author to look at your code/site when most of your problems can be solved with a little searching on this forum.

You can replace the link if you wish it to point somewhere else. In your Admin panel, Languages and Phrases, select Phrase Manager, and look for adintegrate_remove_ads in the list. Edit this phrase to suit your purpose.

On my board I have the link pointing to advertising information and I changed the text to read Member Advertisements.

ok, so now I'm stuck!

I tried 4.1 (?), but no luck. It added in the new menus to the admin cp, but nothing was in them (seems the same as sombody else on this forum a few posts ago).

OK, so lets roll back to 314 so I can get the ads back on my website.

I uninstalled 4.1 and reinstalled 3.14. All looks ok (apart from the 4.1 menus are still in the admin cp, still with no content), but I can't get my ads to work anymore. Nothing comes up on the web site anymore.

Is there something I'm missing?

How did you go about uninstalling 4.1? Did you remove the files you uploaded to the system as well? Go back to adminCP --> vBulletin Options --> vB Ad Management options and make sure you have your ad code in there.

ok, so now I'm stuck!

I tried 4.1 (?), but no luck. It added in the new menus to the admin cp, but nothing was in them (seems the same as sombody else on this forum a few posts ago).

OK, so lets roll back to 314 so I can get the ads back on my
I uninstalled 4.1 and reinstalled 3.14. All looks ok (apart from the 4.1 menus are still in the admin cp, still with no content), but I can't get my ads to work anymore. Nothing comes up on the web site anymore.

As far as the 4.xx issue goes, it sounds like you are not uploading all the files. Check them carefully. Regrading back to 3.xx is not something I'd suggest, I don't know how well it works.

what do you think for 4.0 version near the 3.14 improvments, is it a must have version ? because I'm still using 3.14 and a bit afraid to update due to all complaints and the non-existent support for upgrading 3.14 to 4

If you want to upgrade I would wait until 4.02 which should be out in a couple of days, which fixes all bugs that have been reported to me.

Aside from that, it depends what you would consider "must have" I suppose. Different people want different things.

Well possibly. But it is equally possible that nothing will need to be done at all, they're not making any relevant changes that I'm aware of. I'm more curious about what they've done about built-in advertising.

ok, I'm willing to give 4.01 a shot again.

I've reloaded the new stuff, removed the old 314, but still get the vb ad management menu with no contents. I noticed somebody else had this and you advised to make sure the xml file was copied, I have confirmed mine has, it's in /includes/xml directory.

Where do you put the advertisment.php file, is it just in the root of the forums folder (in my case "forums" is the root of the vbulletin site)..?

What I get is if i set an ad to show after the 1st post, it then reshows the ad every 17 posts even though I have it set to not show again after the 1st post.

I'm still getting a white screen when trying to access any of the options on the ad mgt menu.

I've disabled the only hack I have "Lv vB Event Forums", but still no luck.

I've unloaded 4.01 and reloaded, same thing happens. I've removed the old code from my templates, but still no luck.

Ok I am new to VBulletin and this ad management software.. I have everything uploaded and I have created a banner that I would like as my add.

I want to make it show up in my header. I don't understand how to create and adblock code. I also dont know how to name it so I can edit the $x_advertisement. i know how to edit the templates but I just don't know how to name the block and all that ??

Ad's dont seem to be refreshing at times - I get blank banners at times.
NOT AN AD MANAGEMENT PROBLEM. AD SENSE PERMITS ONLY 3 ADS PER PAGE. IF YOU GO OVER THE LIMIT, THEY BLANK ADS I leave this comment here for others who may run into the same problem so they know the solution instead of finding NO ANSWERS like most of these posts contain- problems w/ no answers.

P.S. Some of you need to try a little harder on working on your problems instead of begging the poor author to look at your code/site when most of your problems can be solved with a little searching on this forum.

I have 4.x running and two Google Ads on one page, both of which are black (Some do say Ads by Adsense on a black background) :confused:

One is header Ad the other is postbit :(

I will post in the Google Adsense forums and let you know what I find out.

What does it do?

A common template modification request is about how to insert advertisements into your forum. This does that and allows you to control when it will appear and how it will look via the AdminCP. Settings are extensive and you can insert any content you like. You can also choose to enable Adsharing (see 2nd post of the thread for details).

Global on/off
Turn the plugin on and off. (Exciting stuff!)

Displays ads with posts, single posts, announcements or private messages
Display advertisements with any form of user message.

Displays ads in your header, footer and in a left or right column, with forum categories and with threads
As well as adverts only being previously displayed with threads, you can now include advertisements in all these locations via the AdminCP.

Unlimited customisation at every advertisement location
Every ad location is templated and editable and also offers extensive customisation via the AdminCP. Remove Ads link

Display ads as user
Choose between displaying advertisments as a post (with optional custom avatar) and standard advertisement display.

Automatic postbit switch
The one-phrase template edit is the same no matter what your settings, you can change between any combination of postbit/postbit_legacy and display as user/standard display at any time and the style will automatically adjust itself.

Displays any code
Anything which can be copied and pasted into the text box will be displayed, HTML included of course. This applies to both the static and random banners. There is no limit to how many banners you can rotate, or filetype, nor for that matter does it even have to be a banner. It will randomly rotate any code you input. Note: It really is random, so you may see the same banner twice in a row.

Google Analytics integration
You can enter your Google Analytics code into vB Ad Management settings and it will be automatically inserted into every page. Aside from saving you a template edit, the analytics can this way be independently turned off.

Location names
For ease of use, the locations are referred to by their template names. Once you know what they mean it's a lot clearer, here's a rundown for those who don't know.

Postbit - The postbit template is used to display posts, announcements and private messages.
Threadbit - The threadbit is the template for a single row when viewing a list of threads.
Forumbit - The forumbit is the template for a single row when viewing a list of forums/subforums.
Header - The template containing the logo at the top of your forum pages ONLY. The area immediately below that is the navbar template.
Footer - The template that contains everything at the bottom of your forum pages from the time downward.


Instructions

Upload the product using the Product Manager.
Go to Style Manager > Edit Templates and...

Find <!-- post $post[postid] popup menu --> and paste $postbit_advertisement above it in your postbit & postbit_legacy templates.
Paste $forumbit_advertisement at the bottom of your forumhome_forumbit_level1_post and forumhome_forumbit_level2_post templates.
Paste $threadbit_advertisement at the bottom of your threadbit template.
Paste $footer_advertisement at the top of your footer template.
Find $spacer_close in your footer template and below it paste $rightcolumn_advertisement.
Find &nbsp; in your header template and replace it with $header_advertisement.
Find $spacer_open in your header template and below it paste $leftcolumn_advertisement.



Changing the settings

The AdminCP options where you can change your settings are located in vBulletin Options after all the rest of the setting categories.
If you want to edit the templates for the advertisements yourself, they are located immediately after their postbit counterparts in the Template Manager list with the suffix "_advertisement". Do not alter any value in the template (that's a string of words or letters beginning with a $ sign) or your ads may stop working! I'll only support the unedited product.

Important! You cannot see your own shared advertisements! This is to avoid accidentally breaking advertiser's TOS by clicking your own ads. Remember this when testing and be sure to test using someone else's adcode!

Known Issues
v2.x Left/Right column alignment
The padding and alignment of the right and left columns (right column or both together especially) can vary a bit and look uneven. I used the code from vBulletin's Quick Tips section and could not improve upon it myself either so I'm afraid this is probably as good as it gets.
v3.x Shared Adcode not triggering.
If your shared delimiter is the text at the very end of your adcode, then it will not appear when the advert is displayed on your forum and nothing will replace it, or sharing will not be triggered. Your shared delimiter cannot be the last characters in your Adcode.




How to add your own custom adcode blocks in 3 minutes

Download the zip file and open the named php files using a plain text editor (something like MSWord which uses formatting will break the code). Follow the simple instructions below then save, upload and overwrite your existing files. Your new custom adcode block will be at the bottom of the header/footer section of your vB Ad Management settings.

You can add as many custom blocks as you like as long as you give each one a different name. They'll work on any page, obey all permissions and work with all features including Ad-Sharing.

To name a custom adcode block, just find/replace every instance of the word "custom" in the code below with the new name of your choice.

One more Bug - the Options Display advertisement after X post on a page? and Display advertisement every X posts? are useless because they only working for the first Page of a Thread. At the second Page there are no more Ads in Postbit.

Afraid not. But to have it below (which is where it's supposed to be, in some forums it is and in some it isn't) do the same as I instructed kiFF, but instead of a space add a <br />.

Have a couple questions. What is the literal path for the banners? I cant get them to show. Is the sitename/forums considered the root path? Also, I have a 'remove advertisements' link that when I click on it, the screen just goes entirely white. Any suggestions for this newbie? ;)

If you add a <p>, then you also have to add a </p> at the end of the Ad Management copyright, which you can't do. But there is no reason to do that either. Instead of the non-breaking space code I gave you, use what RedRyder suggested, a line break:<br />

If your template edit was manual, just move $header_advertisements to where you want it. If template edits are automatic, change the text it searches for in the header automatic insertion setting.

Great hack, however the fact that you require a brand name splattered across my board is insane. Why would I put that on my site? Since you don't offer a brand free version I will have to look at other mods...

Can I disable the option to 'remove advertisements' that shows up under the ads?

Also, I think I see why the screen goes blank. When you click on 'remove advertisements', the link its trying to send you to is http://mysite.org/forum/register.php The www. that should be before mysite.org is missing from the address. How do I get that corrected?

Ok, i want to show ad only after firs post on the page, if thread contain more than 1 posts.
When i turn this option on, it shows advert after 1 post 11 post and so on... How to fix it. Becouse i show on the paga about 40 posts, and it shows me about 4-5 adverts. Google bans me when it's this way.

My ads are showing up for members only. Guests, and people not logged in don't see any ads. How do I fix that so everyone sees the ads? Thanks.
