4.0 is a portal. You need to make an edit on the index file to make this work with 4.0 for submitting scores

Beside the fact you should always use the latest version currently v2.6.9+ only brings vB4-compatibility with it... but I suggest to update anyway

nevermind had to edit the index.php file and now it works

I had similar problems with my server too. Ask your host to change that for you, or to give you php.ini file where you can change that value.

php.ini needs to be in directory where the php script is running (it probably is admincp (or if you changed that name, the name you changed it into)). Set time for execution to 60 or more seconds. After that, you can remove php.ini from that dir, or just restore values, or keep it there, whatever.

You could probably use php.ini I got from my host. Just find this:

"max_execution_time"

And remember what you change there. And that it's valid only in directory where it is, no subdir or on your complete server. You can have different configs in different directories.

EDIT: I just saw the path. You need to put it in /home/public_html/forum/arcade/functions/ directory, that's where the script is running. If that doesn't help, try put changed php.ini in admincp, or even in other possible directories.

I have been using this arcade for years now and I just wanted to say thankyou for your time and help in making this mod work as vB grows. It is much appreciated that you have stuck by the arcade as other people just leave their mods. If there was a mod of the decade, this would certainly win it IMO. So, thankyou again MrZeropage, you are much apprecited. :) I will probably get the branding free solution as I hope that money goes in your pocket, you certainly deserve it.

I just noticed, I said you can remove php.ini after that... The php.ini with changed values need to be in directory while you install games. After installation, then you can remove it and restore server defaults.

php.ini changes values (whatever you want changed) only while it's in the directory where you want values changed.

you are looking at the wrong install file.
You only need to modify functions_showthread.php if you are on VB 3.0
You do NOT need to do it for VB 3.8.X

I only have one set of install instructions though. I initially used the installer.php but was told to just use the xml file via plugin manager.

So if I use the xml file I shouldnt have to alter any templates, it should do everything for me?

Yup I get the same thing. EVerything else works. But all games end with

"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

The instructions to fix that are in the file called INFO - vbadvanced or another Portal.txt which is a part of the installation package.

I installed it on vBcms4 and it is all working now. Excellent moD!

Click the Information link in the ACP and it will give you exact instructions on how to modify the index.php located in your root directory. Instructions and click where it says popup-window.

please make sure to adapt your /index.php otherwise scores won't be recorded!You will find detailed instructions in the ibProArcade-archive: INFO - vbadvanced or other Portal.txt or in this popup-window

Well if the file(s) are still located in the upload folder and installed it will show installed or if not installed will show Install. If you delete the file(s) from the upload folder it wont show up after you install.

hmmm.... well, the game is installed, and all the installed games have Uninstall next to them (not underlined). But sometimes I see Uninstall (underlined). So what's the difference between underlined and not underlined?

And while I'm here, I just played a game, and when I submitted the score I got this:

"This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved."

All the other games submitted fine, but this one didn't.

After uploading games in a tar file and you go to install them it asks what category you want them to go in and what options you want set for the games. and most importantly and option to delete the tar file(s) after install selectable by the Admin.

Put selected games in category
Set Game on/off
Can be used for User-Tournaments
Reset TIMES PLAYED
Reset TIME PLAYED
Reset SCORES
Reset BEST RESULT EVER
Recalculate filesize
Delete game from arcade and database This will not remove any files!

The ability to allow downloads to any game files with group permissions and limits to be set by Admin

Something I noticed when you upload tar files and then click Install All (I am uploading by same type games) then go to Game List, Category and hit Check All it will check all games but the bottom one and you have to manually click that one.

In the file located in /arcade/skins/skin_Arcade.php

find all occurences of <fieldset> and replace with <fieldset class="fieldset"> save and reupload the file. I would recommend a Search and Replace usually a CTRL H to bring that box up.

The flash game isn't completely loaded at 100% at the first loading. I have to reload F5 the browser 1 or 2 times to get the flash swf loaded 100%.

It isn't b/c the install or the file. B/c i tried on several computer and sometime it loaded 100% and something it stuck at 70 or 80% and It forced me to F5 my browser to reload it 1 more time.

Is there a built in points system for this arcade? I have searched high and low but cant find any mention of it. Seems there are fields in the DB for one but nothing in admin.

Having moved across from IPB version its a bit disappointing not to find one.

Instead of having a dropdown on the navbar I made it a button.

I removed my install imeaditaly, first the conversion would not work, but more anoying was the branding that linked back to this site that negates all debranding. I refuse to pay for another mod that has not been polished and ready for installation, and I certinly not going to be rushed into the debranding with a three day window.

We hosted all 6000 games *.SWF on second server ( all the gif files stay on the first server) b/c the space and loading issue so we just can't load them all in the first server with our VBULLETIN forum.

The second server doesn't have vbulletin. It just a plain server and on different ip and hosting company

THe game is loading b/c we changed the codes like this.

The game is loading as normal but some games, I was able to CLICK on SUBMIT button and it went forward to the score page.

In the download folder for the Arcade you should have a txt document called "INFO - vbadvanced or another Portal"

Open that and follow the instructions. It worked for me.

I noticed something really odd.

When i have the language set to french, and any score is submitted. I get an error message saying that the score was invalid. But when i switch back to english, the score is valid and goes into the highscores.

Why is it doing this? All that i changed is the language. All other settings remain the same.

Have you tried to find this game at mypostingspace.com/arcade.html? They provide their ibProArcade games in .tar format, which is easier to install by simply uploading the .tar file to the arcade/tar directory and installing through the admin cp.

I see that you've asked about the whitespace issue. It's been addressed elsewhere. It's a pretty easy fix. Our arcade is also having issues with saving scores in the latest version on 4.0.1, only about a handful of 100 games are actually recording them.

The rest either record the score as "0", don't record it at all, or produce this database error:

We have it setup so that only those users who have a paid subscription can use the arcade, and registered users can view it but not play it

FYI, I have the 4.0.1 already and arcade works perfect. Only thing I had to do was bump up the time in my AdminCP that keeps users logged in longer. Some of the games are long and if they didn't check the KEEP ME LOGGED IN when they signed into my site, there scores weren't saved at the end.

Other than that. It's flawless.

Haven't got it installed on vB 4 yet, but have it on 3.8 and set so that members have to make 5 posts a day before they can access it.

When installing it on 4.0.1 I think we're gonna do similar to MortysTW ..

We're a bit more liberal than some of the others who have posted. We let anyone play games who wants to, but only registered users can save scores.

I figured if an unregistered guest likes a game and wants to save his/her score just maybe they will register.

If it's in regards to the index page code edit, its not working, at least for our arcade anyway. Its still not saving scores of about 80% of games - as per my last post.

In your FTP program, right click on an uploaded file and then select "properties". That will open a popup box which controls CHMOD settings. If you type "777" (or 0777) in the text input box (on my FTP program, its labelled "manual") and then save, that's how you CHMOD a file accordingly :)

You can also select multiple files whilst holding down the CTRL button, and set CHMOD for them all in one hit.

Thanks! I actually had to call my hosting provider, as they do not allow you to do what is stated above, I actually had to change permissions a different way. It worked tho, uploaded and installed! What a great addition to my forum! Thank you!

Do a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5) when viewing your admincp. I had the same thing happen when installing and this sorted it for me anyway.

He just needs to update that text. This mod works perfect in the latest vb4.0.1 or whatever the latest and greatest is. I forget. But I'm running the very latest as of this moment. It's the 4.0 with the latest patch which I think bumped it to 4.0.1

If you look just below the huge bold title on his thread, you'll see all the versions it works for and 4.0 is listed there.

Help me please! I do not know where to fix this in admincp, but right now users who are logged in have a 900 second time out feature, how do I get rid of this? I do not want to change it to a higher number (like 100 thousand for example), because it interferes with who's online widget.

Because of this time out issue, people playing in the arcade are timing out and losing their highscores and have to relog into the site. Any help or suggestions on where I can fix this would be appreciated.

Unfortunately its either one or the other. We had to reset our cookie timeout to 15mins to take account of some of the longer games we have. End result is users are happier that their scores are submitting, but who's online isn't as accurate as it could be.

I just thought I would do an update with this, I managed to fix the problem :) Turns out after I converted our arcade from V3, I forgot to move the files in the gamedata folder over. Since doing so, all the games are saving scores again!

Thought this info might come in handy for anyone else who has recently converted from V3 and might be having scoring issues.

Thanks for this :)..... tried it in ARCADE_vB4 template with no luck, then tried it in ARCADE template and it worked.
Also removed .....{vb:raw header} {vb:raw navbar} under <body> tags as it was doubling up my headers and navbar.

Try batch uploading. Instead of one big upload, upload a few folders at a time. I have had the same issue on actually uploading the VB 4.x folder and files before.

One can only really expect such things if they're paying for a service. This is a free modification so the fact that we can use it is plenty.

Sorry if that seems harsh to you - just getting fed up of the amount of posts on here lately where people are whining that coders/designers aren't jumping through every hoop for them instantly when they're all getting these modifications for free.

One can only really expect such things if they're paying for a service. This is a free modification so the fact that we can use it is plenty.

And so what if he hasn't posted in 2 weeks? Maybe the guy took a holiday? Maybe there's been a family emergency? Either way he doesn't owe it to any of us to live online updating things the second someone reports an issue they've run into.

Sorry if that seems harsh to you - just getting fed up of the amount of posts on here lately where people are whining that coders/designers aren't jumping through every hoop for them instantly when they're all getting these modifications for free.

Nice try but profile shows most recent log in. I have yet to post a problem. I have not installed, as I have posted. When the laundry list is a few pages and the coder is on every day and does not address any of them....... There seems to be a number of people who "CAN NOT " use this.

Yes, it works full in 4.0.x, i upgrade it release whem i run 3.8.6. and it , and this same release work perfect on vb4.0.1

So I have to ask. if it works perfectly in 4.0.1 what are all the issues i see above this post? Is it due to personal style conflicts? User error on the install?

Cna you post a url to your site or someone who has installed as per the instructions and made no code changes.
