I recently downloaded this ibProArcade (Gameroom as well), but now some of my users are complaining that their workplace is blocking the forum due to it being classified as "Games" in their Websense screening.

Any idea what would cause this, and more importantly, is there a way around it?

Unfortunately this happens when you select the vbulletin option to store CSS information as files. If you change that option to 'no' it fixes it.

I've got a problem - my arcade page is showing a 10px line below my forum logo - I was able to remove this line for my forum by changing a stylevar, but somehow this change doesn't remove it on my arcade....

I have this installed on vb3.6.5 and was working fine.
I have had to change the domain of our forum from mysite.org to mysite.info (all of the files and database are still on the same server). The arcade page loads ok from the navbar but when you click on a game to play the path goes to the old mysite.org domain.
Where do i edit the path to reflect the new .info domain

MrZeroPage has a life outside of supporting this FREE mod. He does the best he can and still be a family man. Part of why he might not respond to a lot of these questions I'm assuming is that people keep asking the same thing over and over instead of taking the time to do a search in the thread. I also recommend going to google and typing your exact question. I find that sometimes searches better and get you right back here to the proper page. Google is less anal about the choice of words you use in your search query than the vB search is.

Go into your AdminCP>Arcade>Information and read the part that says:
Notice:
Your forum's mainpage is forum.php - please make sure to adapt your /index.php otherwise scores won't be recorded!
You will find detailed instructions in the ibProArcade-archive: INFO - vbadvanced or other Portal.txt or in this popup-window

This will fix your token issue. You'll have to do this with EVERY vB upgrade cuz the file gets wiped clean. I'd do it to your forums/index.php too just in case. Even though 4.0+ only uses forum.php, and no longer index.php.

I think it's something to do with your Style because the "lines" are there. If I drag my mouse and highlight your page, I see all the "lines" selected. Your style is tweaking border width or its a color thing and the color matches the background. Did you play with your Arcade.php by any chance? Maybe you tweaked some of the basic html in there? Try a different Style and see what happens just for the sake of troubleshooting. Or upload a new arcade.php file to overwrite your existing. Also, just for heck of it, go into your AdminCP>Arcade and change the style from the v3arcade style to the other option and see if your lines reappear or not. But it looks like your style is just wiping the border of the cells out. Because they are there. I can see them like I said when I highlight your page with the mouse.

As for the other issue of tweaking your forum.php with that code snippet, do it to your forums/index.php file too. Both the forum.php and index.php and see if that makes a difference. Where do you get the notice to make the tweak though? I never got any notices with my arcade that I had to do it, scores just wouldn't submit or I got the token error.

First off, just an FYI if the web has declared your site a "Game" site, then you are going to be screwed for a few months if not years until it clears that out. It's like being tagged an Adult site. Once you are, you're screwed for awhile unless you can get ahold of and convince the companies that run the software your member's company uses to keep their employees' PCs off certain sites. Good luck with that. I've tried and failed several times.

But, to answer your question. Open up the zip file you would download to install the arcade and read about the 3 templates you modified when you installed the arcade and just do it in reverse. You've uninstalled the script, now you have to go remove those manual modifications you made to your templates.

Even after that's done, it might be a caching thing on vb and you should have vB rebuild it's tables and stuff in the AdminCP>Maintenance section which is at the very bottom of the AdminCP's scroll list on the left.

I just upgraded from 2.6.7 ---> 2.7.0+ and I have a few questions.

First, I would like the "Latest Arcade Scores" to show the last 5 scores, not just the last one. Do you guys have any idea what I need to edit in order for it to show the 5 latest arcade scores?

Next, the "cost to play" and "jackpot" information doesn't show in the game listing anymore. Does anyone know how I can get it to show back up?

Dutchboy, just jumped on your forum's index page and noticed that Latest Posts thing you got at the bottom of you forums.php page has the same "issue". My guess to you it's NOT an issue cuz you like it like that (does look best how you have it). But whatever you did to make those cellborders to be set to ZERO or the same color is the same cellborder or color that the arcade is "calling" for and it's doing exactly what you are telling your site to do.

Little bit of effort, but what you can do is go create a new css called "MortyMyHero_cellborder" with a thickness of 1 and color of BLACK. Then go into your arcade.php file and replace the html tags calling for a cellborder with this "MortyMyHero_cellborder" and reupload the file and see what happens. Because from what I can see, your site is displaying that arcade exactly how it should based on the settings you have set in place on your website.

MrZeroPage built the arcade to carry over the same properties as the forum so as to look alike. Problem is for some, that match up doesn't always work out the way we would like.

I'm not even sure it was caused by this arcade - i think it's because I'm running WordPress for my frontpage, which I've come to find out others have had issues with Websense when using it.

I cant see that being the problem,i have 3 game sites and all but 1 work on intranet,reason being the .com url.The url is what gets stopped not the fact the site is declared as a game site.Being a private network if certain urls not recognized get hammered then the administrator of the network will stop them.If the site was pointing to arcade.php instead of index.php i'd agree with you, but i doubt that.

It does work with 4.0.5 and my scores are being saved in the database. If you are getting the unable to save scores message, it probably means you forgot to do something.

It does work in 4.0.5. Runnng it all week with no problems. I changed the css code to match the colours of my forum but i cant find how to alter the black type inside the boxes on the arcade page (i have a dark forum so its hard to see). Its not noted on the arcade.css

Change those colors in the arcade.css
one is going to be alt1 and the other is going to be alt2
also try removing the extra </div> from the arcade template

Thanks Hippy - That changed the colour of the text in the main panels, but theres no space on the css to change the dark text in the little boxes within the panels. Im on 4.0.5 and have a dark themed forum.

I've highlighted the problem area in red in the attached picture. The default text is black and i just dont know where to change it. Looked everywhere, including the arcade.css!!

I installed this, and for some reason I cannot get it to show up anywhere on my site. I've uploaded all of the correct files, imported the product, and adjusted the style sheets accordingly. I also updated the index.php in the root folder to reflect the necessary changes to record scores.

Anyone got any ideas?

Yes I understand what you mean. I think the only way to sort this problem out is to redesign the page and make it nice. I might possibly have a look into this when i get some spare time.

a fix for this would be turn off save css as a file in your admincp..
or move the contents of the ARCADE.css into your vbulletin.css..

ARCADE.css is hooked to vbulletin.css and it is not working with vb4, might of worked with vb3 I gatter.
So it will not hook with save css as a file..
so till it's fixed in the new version (I hope)

I was but, I'm not sure if it's allowed, meaning edit this mod and post it.. I emailed MrZeropage, but he's mia.:erm:
anyway I changed nothing with how the arcade works. I just change the code in both styles so it looks better in Opera and FireFox.
So the color and style works global when the color and styles are changed in the admincp for the board. as good as I can ATM

I was wondering if there is a way to set the initial high score before anyone plays the game? I am using the vbexperience mod, and there are achievements for getting the high score in a game. well, i think its not very fair that you set the bar the first time you play, automatically making the high score. So, just wondering. Thank you!

I haven't found any problems with this as of yet. But what problems has it caused you so I know to check for it on my forum?

Fix:

Since version 4.0.1, there has been an additional template variable call (to grab additional.css) in the HEAD.

Please add the following:

Before </head> in your template and you're all set.

I also added everything from arcade.css to additional.css to fix other display issues.

open up admincp and scroll down to plugin manager..
now look for ibProArcade: ARCADE Template Cache
open it up, in there youll see..
if ((THIS_SCRIPT == 'index') || (THIS_SCRIPT == 'arcade'))
change it to this
if ((THIS_SCRIPT == 'forum') || (THIS_SCRIPT == 'arcade'))

not tested but I think it will do what your explaining

if your viewing the tournaments.. should say tournaments but your edit it says Arcade..
same with playing a game should have the game name there your edit says Arcade..

make sure all your files are uploaded and they are in the dir's they should be in..

upload games.tar to your arcade/tar dir upload games.zip games to your arcade/zip folder..
make sure all dir's in the aracde folder are chmod to 777..
then the games you uploaded will be seen in that page..

That was a VERY EASY install. Thanks for making it mindless.

One thing I tweaked....

Step 2 in the template edits. I modded the line you add to postbit legacy to this:

I removed the <dt> ... </dd><br /> because with those in there it was showing a colon and throwing the join date off a line.

I also added the <br> so the join date would be on it's own line.

In the game settings, I changed it to show only icons and here is the result:

I have over 500 rar game files. Will they work if added? Also, the particular style I'm using does not work well with this product as it ends up showing with no borders when viewing arcade.php Is there a way to make the product use a different .css file?

when the score is not saving or you get the missing and or invalid token..
you are not using index.php as your forum so you need to either change that in admincp..
or do this edit to your index.php file

I posted to the ones that work with vb4.0.6 there is a couple in vb3.7 addons ;)

hard to keep track of what each fix does as most of them can fix multiple things
Like your header fix was just a thought off the top of my head knowing what the old template is calling and what the new one is calling..
feel free to add your comments to what they should be named..

I try to help keep the arcade alive since the Author has not been around.. this mod has gone unsupported for months..

I own vb forum... I went as far as Buying the suite to help the people that where having issues vb suite and the arcade since there is code changes, files added etc..

when I posted this stuff .. I have my wife over my shoulders, do this do that, get off the computer..etc
so lots of think aren't clarified as they should. I figure people read enough around here that they would understand..

from helping people fix there arcades I came across this a couple times they had to kill /delete/unistall the games via admincp>arcade> and they install them from a tar file..
but any new game they uploaded worked perfect.. no errors no can't access tables etc..

I didn't say do anything with the ARCADE.css after moving it's contents ..since this is just a fix. I didn't want people to delete it so when the new version comes out, I didn't want to cause more problems..
after copying it over I posted this
now go to
Plugins & products > plugin manager > Product : ibProArcade for vBulletin >ibProArcade: ARCADE CSS
and select no for "Plugin is Active" ...
thats it turn store css as a file back on"



this unhooks it from the vbulletin.css
so the ARCADE.css is just there. Its no longer being used or called by the script..

If this don't work.. I posted about changing a few things without using this index file fix thats in your arcade zip file named INFO - vbadvanced or another Portal.txt

does not matter if you use a portal .. as this is old info and has not been updated for a long time..

this has to do with vb changing over to forum.php
It used to be index.php.......
But there is still a index.php with your vb install ... but now it's only a redirect..

If his fix don't work for you and you can't figure out how to do what I posted I can walk you through it on MSN

Hi there, I've uploaded the arcade to my server and unzipped the files. Also added the xml file via my vbulletin admin panel.

I can't see how to get it working now as not showing anywhere.

In Plugin/Products in the vb admin panel there are numerous downloads for arcade in the uploads/downloads tab. eg:

Hi, I seem to have a problem. The arcade has been working perfect for the longest time, but for some reason scores have stopped saving. the games that don't save scores check the gamedata folder to make sure those games not saving scores the folder is there..
I ran into the same problem. for some reason the gamefolder gets deleted..

Remove the ' in "Jason's".

An apostrophe indicates the beginning or end of a SQL character string. In other words, the SQL reply from the database indicates it tried executing this command:

SELECT gid, gname FROM games_list WHERE gname='Jason'

And the rest ('s Pong (Oblivion Knight)) is not recognised as valid SQL.

So either rename the game to Jasons Pong (Oblivion Knight), or add an escape character (backslash " \") in front of the name to make it go through.

Try and head over to the support forum for the arcade. This is a wellknown issue, and a solution has been well documented for it. Basically, if my memory serves me well, you grab the code from the arcade.css and paste it into the additional.css.

You will also need to do another edit in order to ensure your scores can be saved, which includes copy/pasting some code into your index or forum.php.

I'm having the same problem. I've added the index.php code like I have with every other vBulletin upgrade, but this time it's not working. Once I've finished playing a game it takes me immediately back to my forum home page.

To ensure I understand this correctly (the ARCADE.css part).

I just over write on arcade.css text with the text in the attachment..
Then also paste that same text into additional.css?
Turn off the arcade.css plugin.

My Store CSS Stylesheets as Files has always been off.... do I need to turn this on?

now for another problem :|

I have a broken link on my Leaderboard button on my NavBar.

As you can see with the pictures below the leaderboard should be /forum/arcade.php?&act=Arcade&module=league after the domain name as the Tournament
button shows, which is correct.

go into plugin & products click plugin manager then open Navbar Arcade Tab

I have a problem

when i play a game..and finally die/ win or whatever
it fails to load the page and takes ya back to the main site

so your score / high score isnt recognized
and thus the board looks like noones ever played it

admincp > arcade > game list > find the game in there you want to change the size of and in the edit column click game ..... ones that window opens you have the options Game width and game Height... enjoy

I have the it installed on vb 4.05 and it works but it will not write the high scores and i get this message.

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

3 things..
kill the games and start over to insure there are no dubble games.
there is no other reason other than they installed the amount of time you see thim..

Just as I think I have downloading Mods down, another comes along with a curve ball for me.

Chmod stands for "Change Mode".

As with this install you are going to change file permissions to certain folders.

The main one you need is CHMOD 777 which is the owner/group/public - read/write permissions.

You need to find an FTP program, I use Filezilla which is free but any will do.

There are 3 source boxes you need to fill in that will be supplied by your host.

1) Host (usually your IP address of your site 2) Username 3) Password

Once entered, look at the two boxes in the lower quadrant of your program.

The left is what's on your PC and the right is your server.

Locate your upload folder for arcade on your PC then locate your root folder on your server called public_html

Drag and drop all folders into public_html ie left click hold shift and arrow down till all folders are highlighted now still holding the left click move your mouse to the public_html foldr and release.

Now in your right pane enter public_html and locate the folder called Arcade, right click and look at the bottom menu it should say file permissions, click this and your attributes will show up, I think it is set at 755, tick write on group permissions and write on public permissions your numeric value should change to 777.

Tick recurse into sub-directories and click OK

Done.

Do I just do it for the folders or all the files within the folders as well?

I'd just chmod the folder 777,not the contents.The instructions will usually tell you if it is a specific file that needs chmod.Some servers wont allow you to chmod 777 certain files as it goes against their security measures.
