I'm having problems installing tar files and zip files

tried reading through this huge thread so bear with me.
some of my games won't record scores since upgrading to v3.6.8 but alot of the older games still do. my bigger problem is when you go to submit your scores and return to the arcade it takes you back to the cmps portal page instead of to the arcade itself. any ideas? I appreciate all the excellent help on this board

You're welcome. I had trouble with the zip files too, but since I had so few of them I just didn't bother. Let me know if you find a solution.

...mauisun If you're using vBAdvanced there's a special code you need to add. Check the instructions. If that's not it, I can't help you. You might try posting in the support forum. Blessings.

thanks for responding. not using vbadvanced just the usual vb 3.6.8 alot of games stopped recording high sclores after the change to 3.6.8 and the flip to cmps instead of the arcade room I think that has always done that

I tried the Contra Challenge, but it doesn't work on my arcade, nor it's image file which seem to be the same format as the other games. As you can see the welcome bar moves out of synch and displays below the shout box. Yes this is the exact same page that the forums sit on, the casino sits on etc. All have the welcome bar under the nav bar above the shout box.

What do i need to change to correct this? ANy ideas?

Its frowned upon in here to link to games. What I advise is searching in Google for "ibproarcade games"

You then put the zip or tar file in your zip or tar folder on the server. Then install them via the Arcade AdminCP

do the images manually its the image folder that has the Virus, well thats the folder zip i couldnt upload.

Is there any ranking mod to show up to 50 users? or something similar. As it is now, it shows only the first 3 champions.

Hi i have enabled the debug mode for arcade the scores in the tournament are not being saved. This is the error i am getting.

I have changed everything. The arcade is running fine with the new ibparcade.php file. Event the games are playing the only problem is that i cann't save the scores as when scores are being submitted the file used is arcade.php instead of ibparcade.php. Where should i change this?

The arcade works great, but some of the things such as functions_showthread.php were non-existant in 3.6.8 so they couldnt be edited (the file wasn't there).

Also, I get this error when I use the main admincp index.

Looking at those error messages, it appears to me that you uploaded your ARCADE folder directly in the root of your website, instead of inside your FORUMS directory/folder.

ie. www.yoursite.com/arcade

When it should actually be placed at YourSite.com/forum/arcade

REad the instructions again. It tells you to put the arcade in the FORUM root. Not your site root.

HI I have a problem. I have installed Arcade and now it shows in the profile of a poster 3 times the same status of the game where he is champion. See the attachment (I have put a blue box in the attachment where the error appears).

How can I change it so that it shows it only 1 time?

I believe this happens when you install v32 games. I could not begin to tell you the quirks I have unearthed trying to load these games. Typically in addition, these games play but won't save scores. The only fix I have found is to manually extract the v32 games gamedata folder and upload to server into arcade>gamedata folder. There are deeper issues too :) It is too bad since there are so many cool v32 games out there. If you want more info. PM me.

I have this installed and noticed that some of the members will play for quite a time and get a high score but the arcade doesn't save their score. I tried contacting the support forum but none of them have vbulletin currently. They are using IPB still. They suggested I come back here and get an answer to this problem.

I'm having a problem getting the trophy's to show up in Postbit Legacy. I've checked the code several times, and I have the only 2 scores in the arcade so far, but there are no trophy's showing up in my Postbit Legacy.

Is there a setting somewhere to have the trophy's show up?

I have installed it in my forum root directory and everything looks great until I click a game link or any high score etc. It doesn't get me to the game or correct page. The link says www.xxx.com/forums. However, I have my forum one folder deeper....www.xxx.com/members/forums.

If I type in the correct url it plays fine. How can I change all the links on the arcade.php page?

I have installed it in my forum root directory and everything looks great until I click a game link or any high score etc. It doesn't get me to the game or correct page. The link says www.xxx.com/forums. However, I have my forum one folder deeper....www.xxx.com/members/forums.

If I type in the correct url it plays fine. How can I change all the links on the arcade.php page?

Have you set the proper URL settings in vB Options->Site Name / URL / Contact Details->Forum URL?

In your case the proper setting is: www.xxx.com/members/forums

The stuff in the upload folder goes into your forum root

You can chmod files and directories with your FTP software such as CuteFTP. Try right clicking it ;) Some hosting packages also have a filemanager in the control panel, you could use that.

Hello every one, I have search this topic but could not found an answer, perhaps I'm the only only one who has en counterd the hack.

It's possible to submit "changed" high scores of a game if the users uses < 8.0 of flash plug in in a browser. The tool is named as flash hack tool. With this tool a user is able of changing the score before it's submitted to the website.

The solution is very simple, add a line of code that control's the flash game/player.
The code needs to check which version of Flash is at the users side and if lower than 8 reverse it to a page where (I, the web master) can ask to upgrade to the newest version.

I'm only unknown with the script.
Does anyone know an solution ore (if I write a peach of PHP code) tell me where to include it?

There is some problem with a proxy somewhere.

I've been using this mod for about a year now. Yesterday it started giving this error out of the blue. I can still get to the games from their internal links though, just not from the main "Arcade" link on my forums Any suggestions for fixing this?

admincp-MANAGE PRODUCTS- u should see [Add/Import Product]-Allow Overwrite. click yes and then browse wherever you saved the plugin and click import.

I mean in the includes folder there is a XML folder inside there is cpnav_arcade.xml, a hooks_ipproarcde.xml and a product-ibproarcade.xml.

Am I updating the product-ibproarcade.xml file only?

I have done that and it says it's updated to 2.6.6 in the product manager area but in the arcade CP information area it still says I am running 2.6.3?

If a user chooses to play the game in a popup, once the game completes the user is taken to the page where they can add score messages etc. This in effect throws them back to the arcade pages.

The problem is the popup, for obvious reasons, is coded without scroll bars etc etc. So if the user chooses to maximise the popup window and continue to use the arcade within that window they have some difficulty navigating around.

Maybe you didn't up all the files or add the product correctly. Try it again I would guess.

Sounds like you didn't do the usergroup permissions maybe.

I just installed a TAR file in the Add Game section of this mod.

During the installation it showed this error on two separate lines:

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but still get the same error messasge.

The game works fine...it just won't save the scores.

All other games are working fine. BTW...the new game I installed is Collateral Damages II...if that makes a difference. I got it from ipbdownloads.com.

To the best of my knowledge, this score is higher than the theoretical maximum.

Are there any security vulnerabilities in ibproarcade or the scoring system that anyone is aware of? Are there any ways to cheat in this particular game or alter the score that is submitted? I've sent the user a PM asking how he managed to score higher than the theoretical maximum but I have not received a response.

I have the same problem. I have over 200 games loaded, so it is really hard to track what is new and what is old. In fact, how am I to tell what is considered old and what is new. I have a user that gets scores in the millions in Tetris... but if you normally play it, by the time you get to around 25K, the bars drop so fast, it is impossible for the human eye to see it. If this double browser cheat is true, how and what do others do to prevent this. Perhaps there is a list of games that are vulnerable to this cheat action? I really need help, cause I have a pile of users that are complaining, but there is nothing I can do except zero the scores occasionally. But that person comes right back and bangs through 20 or so games and gets scores that is impossible to beat... Please help!!!

Download as a PHPNuke... unzip it. You have to create a xxx1.gif and a xxx2.gif of the xxx.gif file. I use ACDSEE and change the size on xxx1.gif to 20x20 and xxx2.gif to 50x50 so it stays the same size as others. Upload those .gifs to the .../arcade/images, upload the .swf to the .../arcade folder and at your adminCP under Arcade, add it!

Not too difficult when you do it a few times. The hard part is creating/resizing the .gif files. Good luck!

Ummm... that link won't work since we are not registered on your forum. You would have to open it up to the public or forget. Folks on here aren't going to register on your forum just to see your issue.

As far as the tournaments... they never worked properly for me and if anyone weeds back through this thread you'll see that the issues get a deaf ear... I told my users to stay away from the tournaments until someone resolves the major issues...

I'm running the Last Version 2.6.6+ and seems that this Mod is for 2.5.7 Version!! :rolleyes:

Hey, Great mod... just one problem i have, i uploaded everything and works fine, just that if you log into the forum then click on Arcade, it logs you out then have to re-login...

It should be ok if you have the "Remember Me" checked when logging into the forum. I notice this being a big problem (even when posting) with people using AOL. To overcome this, I have all of my forums set with the "Remember Me" checkbox already checked. Here are direcctions to accomplish that...

Find the following in your navbar template

I assume you are receiving this when clicking on a link in your forum to direct someone to the arcade. Based on that error message it seems to be that you link is pointing to the wrong location - the arcade.php in all of my forums is inside of the forums directory and not under my main public_html

I made the correct postbit edits (postbit and postbit_legacy). However, in the new postbit, it says "$post[crowns]$post[champtext]" above everyone arcade icons and tourny wins. If I change to postbit_legacy, it just shows the icons and tourney wins as normal.

Is there something wrong with the edit to the postbit template? Am I just retarded?

Edit: Even when I take the edited code out of Postbit template (revert it), it still shows $post[crowns]$post[champtext]" above the join date. Is it somehow linking from Postbit_legacy? Help!

No, they just get uploaded to includes/xml is all. The other file is the one that is imported. Once you do that and refresh the page, the menu will be there on the left.

It doesn't have one. Well, other then the ARCADE template. You'd have to modify the appropriate PHP file in the Skins folder to change the look, like I did.

In the Files You Uploaded there's a File named "lang_Arcade_en.php", located in "arcade/lang/", editing that File with a Text Editor you'll find the Following Phrase:

create_tourney => "Create tourney",

You can Change "Create tourney" by "Create Tournament", Save the File, and Upload it Again via FTP overwriting the Current File.

In that same File you'll be Able to Change other Phrases.
