I re-enabled arcade.css in plugin manager, no errors but still comes up weird, lacking

If you over wrote your ARCADE template with the one I have posted there? Leave the plugin Off. If you made changes prior for the ARCADE, to your additional CSS then copy them over to the ARCADE CSS.. as far as your screen shot open your to skins and search for tcat. And replace the all with blockhead . I also have those to files posted there as well with the edit already done if you no not want to make them yourself.

Cant remember off hand I'm not in front of a computer ( cell phone ) anyway I think the font is in you arcade CSS color="#000" or in your resetfont CSS.. when I get home ill have an exact fix for both.

I never seen a issue with that before.
LOok in the main arcade root file. Off hand I think tborder and atl1 or alt2. May have something to do with it. I don't think its tcat.. you'll find these in the ARCADE.css

Hmm now I DO have another problem..

I've just tested the arcade and once you go to submit a high score, instead of proceeding to the high score page where you can enter your comments etc, it actually redirects to this new damn VB feature ( which has caused me some big probs ) the stream activity.php page..

So in short = play a game, goto submit your score, you get taken to activity.php page NOT the default high score page and the scores are NOT being recorded when I checked the high scores page itself..

Again, I appreciate any help in advance, this one I know I won't be able to sort myself :o

well I looked abd there are 2 .HTACCESS and .HTACCES
the .HTACCESS is correct
did you have one there before ?

if so what was in it

I see the rewrite for vbseo

Contact your host and see if they can enable the rewrite
of it you have a custom page not found display set up this may cause it as well

you can check your cpanel and look at the php info and see if it's enabled as well

There was only one htaccess in there, which was written like so;

htacces I made following your advice.

Rewrite is enabled as this was NEVER a problem until latest VB release.

As for the rest of the rest you have suggested, please excuse my ignorance here, but I really do not follow what it is you are asking me to look at. Sorry. :o

This was working FINE, seriously mate it was absolutely flawless until the latest release of VB version 4.2
Since then index php is now stream or w/e and I have had to fiddle with loads to get things working..

What if I re-install the arcade?
Ok I know people would lose scores, but at least it's worth a shot if it fixes this error?

Besides that, I don't follow what you mean and I do not know what else to do...

don't install the you can but do not uninstall it
over write it all..

and about your host
if there is a issue with the server or your account you can make a support ticket up..
ask them in the ticket to enable rewrite

If you don't want the index to redirect you to the active stream then you can change that and it may work..
your using suite ..so I am not sure
but I did notice since vb4.2 the arcade index edit stopped working and had to use the htaccess redirect / rewrite..

I am out ATM but when I get back I can try other thing..
but contact your host.. and see what they say

The games all work fine but the highscores don't register and it sits on the same page doing nothing until you refresh or head back to the forum

Read the last 10+ replies before your post and you'll see I am having the same problem.
Included in the replies are some fixes that I have tried and that Hippy has suggested.

Try them, so far none have worked for me mate as I still have no score posting page, it goes default to the new damn streaming / activity page NOT index.php = index.php doesn't exist anymore!

Try your domain and then index like so = www.mydomain.com/index.php

you'll see the index.php directs you now to the streaming page * activity.php* where ibProarcade relies upon index.php

This is the problem I think. I have tried editing the file myself to point to different locations and it takes me to all other pages including custom pages I have made, but NOT to the submit score page..

Hopefully they will fix this to work with VB v 4.2 ASAP as it does NOT work right now. :(

Go into your navigation manager. Click on forum. Then the drop window set as default this will also it from redirecting to the activity stream. This has been the first arcade I didn't fix in a couple tries..I think there is more going on there with server configuration... I think you may be waiting a while.

All the fixes are listed in the fixes thread, they aren't difficult to do if you follow the instructions carefully.

If you do struggle, post for help and there are plenty who will assist.

The server configuration is out of my control..o updated 3 Vb suites yesterday with what I have posted ..

Well I can say that it is working for me on 4.2 and mine isn't the only site I know.

It probably won't work out of the box but the tweaks are available to make it.

For me pages all working accept the when you finish the game and it comes to submit your score the page freezes and nothing happen with all the games i got i tried all the fixes and non seem to work for me.

are you uploading in ASCII or Binary
ASCII should be for .php .cgi .txt etc
and Binary show be for all other .rar .tar.zip .jpg.mpg etc

make sure your uploading those .tar file in Binary format..
in your ftp client under file types youll beable to see and change.

The navigation system has changed in 4.2. Use the Navigation Manger instead

AdminCP > Settings > Navigation Manager > Add Tab and for active url put arcade.php{vb:raw session.sessionurl_q} and fill in the other options, that will get the Arcade tab for you. I'm sure there are probably posts/threads on this somewhere by Hippy but this will get you started.

When I play a game and submit the score the page loads my forum homepage and the scores are not saved.

I already had a htaccess so I added the code.

I don't get any error messages or anything, it just loads the homepage after I submit score.

Well what took place before was that I had uninstalled the modification several months ago, but did not remove any of the files from my server. Today I downloaded the Mod again and uploaded all the files overwriting the previous ones. The index.php doesn't have that code as i have upgraded many times since having this mod.

Ok I found what is causing it. It is the index.php. I found this code in the index.php:

If I change the "true" to "false" then the score will be saved as it should.

I'm not sure where this code came from but I have a feeling it is to do with vBSEO or it's to do with the Navigation Manager itself?

But just to point out I have just downloaded a fresh copy of vB 4.2.0 PL2 and the index.php has that code which means it's not vBSEO.

So every 4.2.0 should have that code. So it is something else causing the issue, but when I change that "true" to "false" the arcade definitely works.

Its working again, I went into index.php changed to false like Gamer said and I deleted the .htaccess now its perfect and saves my scores with no more errors. Hope this helps. Now all is good mate.

I asked vBulletin about what happens if you change the "true" to "false" in index.php and I got this response:

It redirects to the default tab set in the navigation manager. So if you change it to false, the Navigation Manager will not work properly and your tabs may stop functioning properly. You need to work with your arcade provider to get an update that works with this version. We can't help you modify the default software to work with addons.

However I tested changing it to false and I saw no difference in the function of the navigation manager.

I'm Not sure of the % of people that the htaccess is not working for.
But seems to me somethings not right that it will not work for you 2 guys.
I have applied this to many sites I manage with out one issue.
Never changed anything in the index.php
and all works..
This is the whole Idea with the rewrite / htaccess
not to have to edit vb's files when updating..
some people do not update on every release so they forget what was edited.

Look back on these threads .
" I updated and my arcade no longer saves score"
they forgot about the index edit ..

Yup just noticed this the now, i had the scores done the .htaccess way but soon as i removed it and added it to index.php file everything was ok.

For instance, I have a category called 'Mahjongg', and after playing, or while still on the page, I'd like to be able to get back to the Mahjongg category without having to first visit the arcade homepage. Open your skin folder in both skin files open them up with your editor. Search for tcat
change them all to blockhead save and upload, over writing the other ones.

Is this fully compatible with vBulletin 4.2? I just upgraded from 3.8 to 4.2. I then upgraded to this newest version of the arcade. It works fine for playing the games, but the scores won't post. So the players are disappointed and I want to fix that. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The arcade was fixed months ago too. Emails went out to everyone who has ever downloaded it to disable or delete the mod until the fix was provided.

If you didn't get the email you should make sure the one you use here is up to date and white list @vbulletin.org from your spam list if you have one.

I had the same problem, I went through and change a lot of things trying to achieve that.
In the end I did this....

modify the arcade.css
look for...
.alt1, .alt1Active
and change the 2 text colours to visible colours

modify the reset-fonts.css
look for...
legend{color:#000;}
change the value to FFF for white text.


I am new to VB and have no clue about much to be honest, but I did this, and it worked.
Maybe someone can advise you better though.

I seem to be having an issue with the postbit modifications in the install instructions.
after adding the template modifications this is what I am seeing, on all styles not just the one in the image.

hi, after loading 100 games in. tar, I get this error. and will not let me load any more game. I tried to uninstall the plugin and install it, but I always mistake. thanks and regards.

yes, the error gave it to me when I the uploader in mass .tar, and now I'm not to load any game even individually :(

this happens when there is a bad game.tar file
most of the time you need to poke one at a time to install till you find the culpritt

is it a new install ?

remove all the tar files and add one
and see what happens..

see if the last game installed correctly
if not remove it ..
try again

It would be so awesome if members could finally play against each on forums and in real time.. just simple stuff like Chess, Checkers. It would also increase forum popularity and make things more fun.

it's a technology that should of been out several years ago, I feel...but I guess still noone feels it's needed.

Even if it was a fee-based plugin, i'm sure many would go for it. Maybe something the VB team should consider implementing in a future version, if nobody else will.

didn't even know about that Gameroom mod. Looks like something that 'should' of had potential for high popularity , but it doesn't help when the developer hasn't updated it for years.

If it was a little more taken care of , I would of installed it and possibly paid for it.

Hippy you should seriously think about making your own Mod that could combine both elements of vbArcade and Gameroom. I would pay for it, if it was taken care of . Your support here for several months shows you at-least have a passion for it.

This arcade doesn't use vBulletin's template system like other modifications do, you would need to edit the skin_arcade.php and/or skin_v3arcade.php files and most likely the arcade.php file too

stangger5 or hippy will probably be able to point you to the correct areas - it has been a while since I run a site using this arcade.

was that arcade installed before or still installed .. you need to remove all file from one or the other and un-install it ..

V3 was installed first but that never worked so I unistalled from Plug in manager and installed ibProArcade for vBulletin
