Then the table gamesessions does not exist, but the table vbul1_gamesessions does exist. There must be missing a table prefix in the source. I think the answer will already be somewhere in this thread.

Ok got a strange problem

When you click on currently active users I can see the users name and it says they are in the arcade but it then say that there is a guest in the arcade with the same ip.

Any ideas

Games come with an installer, you run that program to install them. Each should come with instructions.

I don't see anything different than what I have in mine, this probably means that somewhere in the edits you either placed something wrong or added something extra.

If you have a backup of that file you should go back to it and redo whatever the arcade install had you do.

I've never used PSPad so I can't speak for it, I use TextPad.

Everyting seemed to install fine, except whenever I try to access the arcade it says I dont have permission. The arcade is turn on and admins arcade permissions allow us to view it..what the heck is going on?

If you're getting an error, try setting permissions to all groups.

Some hacks, I can't remember if this is one, only see primary membership.

If you set permissions to registered users and your admins or mods are primary to the admin or mods group then it may not let them in.

Sorry, that sounds awfully messy. First, two arcades, then set it up outside vB.

I don't think the first is advisable, and I don't think the second is doable.

Of course I could be wrong.

ran into a little problem. a user challenged me, he won but on the challenges page he got a 0 while I got my score and it says I won in the postbit even though he beat me.

He challenged me to a second game which he has not played yet but it already says I won.

Well guys, this is what I have done after a recent local issue: I have disabled my arcade and recommend all others do the same. Why? It is pretty obvious after a recent string of US court actions, including one here locally:

Guy was found with copyrighted games and images on his IPB site. Small site, with about 500 regular members. The guy claimed most of the games and images he picked up off of download sites. Several of the games listed were the games provided with the ORIGINAL arcade hacks. He had ads and donate links on his site, therefore the court felt he was making a profit off of the display of games/images. Guy had nothing signed in PAPER; no PRINTED agreement from the MANUFACTURER or an AUTHORIZED distributor of the materials. Records and backup files from his ISP were used.

1 year probation
No online site creation or hosting while on probation
$5000 fine plus $10 per game/$2 per image involved
Forfeiture of his online forum licenses.

John would need to enter into an official agreement with these providers as a distributor, with the games having hard-coded copyright data. Then John would have to provide indemnifying software and license agreements to all users of the software.

The above court issue came about because one company complained about use of their games - that company's games are included in the basic install of v3Arcade.

This tells me that John knows enough about copyrights to get us all into trouble.

I can get permission for dozen of my games but those who do not want the games displayed @ others site should be in a banned list so ppl do not get in trouble for free games. If u got an e-mail from the game creator then u are alright with the copyrights of that game but if it is a variation of the orginal then u have to see if that has been given the permission to alter & ask the orginal creator if u can display it if u do not get an answer then delete that game and all others that u do not have the permission to display. I guess v3arcade.com is making sure that the creator's copyrights are followed since they are updating the way u can get their games or something. Most likely they view the ppl here & who makes a post. :paranoid:

Yea I do but u need to get them from the author , I can not help u in that. I got the authorization e-mail but u have to contact them yourselves & get permission. All of a sudden I cant get to my arcade. Says

I am just going to unistall it and wait for 3.5 before I reinstall an Arcade. I can delete the files and reverse the file template mods, but which db tables are installled with this mod? I checked in phpmyadin and see no "arcade" tables, but I do see some "game.." tables:

Yeah those are the ones to lose, I did the same, reverse install of all my hacks, including the arcade and went thru the database manually to find things like this - there will also be tables in templates and phrases, but if you're upgrading to 3.5 then I wouldn't worry, you could always clean install templates and phrases again.

I'm trying to get the arcade fully working with the .swf files being hosted on another server. I've updated the templates appropriatly, and the games are loading/running fine. However, when they go to submit a high score, it doesn't seem to work :ermm:

The arcade is just too darn popular...LOL... **great** script btw =)

What I am after is when you view a members stats and it shows there awards (if any) I would like to be able to click the image or the name of the game they are champion so that it takes me straight to the game.

I have looked at the code but I am wary of messing about with it.

Recheck your modifications to files. Make sure you did not forget to put in a closing bracket or put one too many in. This happened to me and I screwed up by missing a closing bracket in one of the files (init.php or global.php I think).

v3arcade (http://www.v3arcade.com) is not dead, but it is definitely slowed down right now. John is working on the new version that will port into vB 3.5. No release dates from him and I do not think he is answering any questions about it.

Anyone know where to get new games for the Arcades now ? I have 100's myself , but i havent seen a place to get them.

If needs be ill start up a new forum for the purpose of games for the VB Arcade and host all the games for people , thats if no-one else is doing this ?

Recheck your modifications to files. Make sure you did not forget to put in a closing bracket or put one too many in. This happened to me and I screwed up by missing a closing bracket in one of the files (init.php or global.php I think).

I checked both of those and even re-did the hack and no luck.

I can see your point here , but whats the point in having an arcade if you cant add in new games from time to time ?
Surely theres a lot of games there that have permissions to be posted and played , and there has to be a way to post them all in the one place.

If a complaint is made about a game , remove it - simple as that.

Anyway, my question is how come my game view style has 4 games all in 1 row in small little boxes, when in the screenshots their is one game per line? Is their anyway I can convert to the original style?

If I try to start the forumroot/admincp/install_arcade.php function, it tells me "No input file specified" .

I followed all instructions from txt-file, but it wouldn't work.

It's a vB 3.0.7 version, perhaps that's the problem?

I just reinstalled vBulletin and reinstalled (attempted to anyway( the v3arcade, but the install_arcade.php file did not copy the templates and I am not sure if it made the database modifications. What should i do?

What I am after is when you view a members stats and it shows there awards (if any) I would like to be able to click the image or the name of the game they are champion so that it takes me straight to the game.

I have looked at the code but I am wary of messing about with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey I've already searched this thread for "challenge bugs" but is anyone else able to refresh their score for challenge if you were the first one playing? It goes to the outcome score and if I refresh, it'll add more to my score or screw around with both scores.

I've added this mod, but when I go to the arcade link on the navbar, it shows me an empty arcade. (see picture.) I rechecked all the files mods, phrase additions, template changes, etc and everything looks good. All the files were uploaded to the server to the correct folders. I can't figure it out. I am converting some of my games i have made to this arcade system.
The games will come as a pack and sorry will cost £5 for about 5 games.
The games will be locked to your site so there is no way that the game can be used on other sites. Im also working on doing a mod for the arcade to use the games from pnflashgames. If i can sort this you will be able to buy pro games for your arcade. I will post here when the games are ready for download.

OK, never mind. Something the forum owner installed radically changed that file from the original. I should have checked that. It may be a matter of living without it.

The install has been (still is) problematic.

I have found answers to some issues with function.php and global.php in this thread, but i've now hit an impass i can't figure out.

After uploading and altering all the files so that i had no errors, i went to admincp/install_arcade.php and got this:

I upgraded to 3.0.7 and I got Permission problems. No one has permissions to log in. Not even the admins. I checked the usergroups settings and it says admins and registered users have permission to view arcade but it is not the case.

I just get:

XYZ, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I've tried removing all the arcade database changes using a mysql query and then I ran install_arcade.php again but that did not help.

All files are patched like the instructions said. I am now truly clueless.

Any one have any suggestions?

The arcade still says no permission :( which is very very strange in my opinion. I don't know what else would stop users.

ok. I removed all the database modifications by using Marboosh.nets helpful sql query:

DELETE FROM datastore WHERE title = 'arcadesettings' LIMIT 1;
ALTER TABLE user DROP arcadesettings;
ALTER TABLE usergroup DROP arcadepermissions;
DROP TABLE games;
DROP TABLE gamechallenges;
DROP TABLE gamesessions;
DROP TABLE gamenews;
DELETE FROM datastore WHERE title = 'arcadesettings' LIMIT 1;
DELETE FROM datastore WHERE title = 'scoresettings' LIMIT 1;

then I deleted ALL the custom templates and reverted to all the original templates. I over wrote all the arcade files.

and still it says no one has permission.

I can see only 2 ways in the code that would make it say no permission. One would be if the usergroup is not allowed. Second is if the board is closed. In the database all the usergroups have the proper permissions. In 'arcadesettings' in 'datagroup' the number is 845

when I say Is the Arcade Active? NO then it changes to 844. Even then the admin should be able to view it. but it doesn't. Very very strange :o

Next i'm going to check the vb files for any errors.

Hi everyone,

I am hoping that someone can help me with a problem that seems to be plaguing a decent amount of folks here. I installed the arcade on my 3.0.7 forums with no difficulty whatsoever. When I attempt to access it, I receive the error about me not having permission to access the arcade. I have checked every permission setting in the admin cp (including usergroup permissions and arcade permissions) and everything is setup perfectly to access the arcade. I can only figure that there is some kind of "hard coded" permission set somewhere in a file or database that will have to be edited.

Can someone please point me in the right direction? If so, can someone list some steps as to what I can try to get this working properly? I was reading earlier that someone had to execute a custom SQL query in the ACP to set their permissions up?

Anyways, thanks for any and all help that can be provided. I'm rather anxious to release this upon my community.

Triple check your coding and make sure it follows the instructions to the letter. One boo-boo will throw the entire installation off.

You can also manually set the permission in the DB if necessary, but I suspect you have a coding error someplace.

I have done this just to be sure. I combed the code over three times with EXTREME care and caution. Any other ideas?

Anyway, at our other site I installed the arcade last night. The arcade.php page shows up fine but the games are not there. If you enter a direct path to the games they work, but the arcade.php page is blank, see below.

A quick search for "arcade" in the templaes (and in chat) show the templates need to be reinstalled again for the template...

After upgrading to 3.0.7, I've decided to reinstall the arcade, and have 5 skins installed. For whatever reason the arcade only shows up on the first skin - the rest just show a blank, white screen, when I added the template additions, I made sure they all went on all skins, not just the first one.

I had this working fine on 3.0.5, but not it just won't work with different skins, only the first one on the list.

Any ideas?

Short of this I'll have to uninstall the arcade which I really don't want to do.

Just a note for people installing the "Extra" included in the zip file...learn from my mistake...know if you have vb3_ as the prefix for your tables before you upload the edit to arcade.php....it'll save you the "GODDAMNIT" :p

I tried to edit the text of one of the games I installed...and now it won't let me edit any settings for that game anymore....anyone have any thoughts as to why that might be?

The game still plays, and uploads the score and all....but all the settings in the AdminCP to change things on it are disabled for just the one game.

I run a test forum (changed now but originally shared the DB with the live forum) whenI installed this on the test forum everything was fine. Installed it on the live forum and got all sorts of error messages I think I have tracked itdown to the shared tables in the DB.

Is there a way to uninstall this to clear the tables from the DB and try a clean install?

There's no "uninstall" with this package. You'll have to go into the DB and remove the relevant entries manually.

I found that reuploading a gamename.game.php file of a game I have installed and running it will give you the uninstall option.

This is going to be a stupid question but I don't want to read through 265 pages of posts..

I have the games mod installed and it has the 5 basic games with it.. I have downloaded a bunch more games but how do you install each individual game? There are no directions of where I need to upload anything or what I need to do..

Every game should a set of at least 4 files. 2 of them are .gif images & they go in your forum/images/arcade/ directory.

You should also have a forum/games/ directory. This is where the .swf file goes.

There will also be a file named <game title here>.game.php. This goes into your admincp directory. Once all 4 files are in place you rin the .php one by doing the following:

www.<your domain name> and the path to the php file. Usually it's something like www.blablabla.com/forum/admincp/thegamename.game.php


Once it installs you need to delete that php file so that no one else can run it!!

For v3, it is the forum/games/ directory by default for where your SWF file is uploaded.

Like I said I have 595 and the only thing I can think to do is install and if it is no good then turn it off..

v3arcade v1.x.x is not compatible with 3.5. I am not aware of anyone that has ported the current version for use on 3.5. John's new version (from what I understand) should work under 3.5 when it is released.

Unfortunately, if you want to keep an arcade and you upgraded to 3.5, you will need to use iBProArcade.

If upgrading the files that your arcade had to modify, you will need to redo the edits.

No, actually it means you cannot use v3arcade v1.x.x that is currently available at all unless someone ports it for 3.5. Heck, if iBPro can do it, I am sure someone here can convert 1.x over. Just not me right now!

Ok.. I am having this issue... I have converted my site from phpbb2 and everything went well and I have everything over, well everything but the skin..

I have installed the arcade and it seems that all of the members that was converted over get this message when they try and play a game..

fanzone, make sure you've set the correct permissions in the admincp.
I'm not sure how impex handles phpbb, but if I remember correctly, the imported users should be under a group called "Imported" or something similar where as your new members are more than likely registering into your default members group.

Alright I CANT FIND the answer ANYWARE!!! My arcade crashed after installing the ucash hack, whenever someone tries to get into the arcade (even admin) it says you dont have permission...are you edited someone elses...bla bla bla. Now It might be because the cron job cant run because whenever you try to run it it gives you a error saying that global.php could not be found on line 14 so what is going on? there is no easy way to uninstall and reinstall because I dont remember all the templates and databases...Is there a way to fix this? PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!

Great add-on. Loved it. My members loved it also.

Can I ask a question.

I installed it on 3.0.8 the other night, with no issues what-so-ever.
However, recently, I re-designed the forums (to go with the new site), now even though I did from the "Template Modifications" down in the installation maual, the bloody thing will not work under the new design. All we get is a blank page. No MYSQL errors or anything.

Am I missing something here, or what?

On the previous page you asked if it works with 3.0.7. Now you ask for any modifications.

Your question should be if it works with 3.0.8 and the answer is yes. Do you need any special fixes? No. Since the upgrade to VBulletin 3.0.5 and the fix of the init.php you shouldn't worry about anything else.

Have you checked your Usergroup permissions just in case it's turned off?

I installed this on my test forums and found this.

It works fine on the default styles page, but any of the other stlyes that I have installed it does not work. What I get is, click on the arcade button on the navbar and you go to a white page. Same result on each of the other styles.

Is ther a fix for this?

How do I get the awards that appear in the postbit to not be stacked ontop of each other and to remove the text and only show the icons next to each other? I have a smaller forum and some users have long stacks of awards and I am planning to add more games.

On my live forums, when I installed the arcade I received error reports. These reports appear to be caused by the fact that my test forum shares the same DB as the live foruim. The tables were already created. I have deleted the tables can it starts to insstall but gives me an error that someing (an table I believe) is already tagged as 1 or key) when I reset and try to reinstall i get the table already created error.

Is there a way to get a list of all tables that installation creates and what the key table is, so I can delete them and retry installation?

When I remove a game from being displayed and tracked in the V3Arcade mod it hides everything, but it still shows the icon and the stats for the game in the Stats of the player. I don't want it to show up in there when I've hid it using the adminCP.
