change the font first . find this stylevar

I would do this one first..
before the background.
Posted both incase your background is off thats why you can see the font..

First of all, great mod!

I have one issue though, when the chatbox loads initially, it loads the whole page into the chat area instead of messages. User has to reload the page or click on some link to actually load the messages.

I noticed, the initial AJAX request looks like this:

POST http://sazkar.net/misc.php?es=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx&show=ccb messages

whereas subsequent requests use '&' to separate params. I don't have any idea why '&' is escaped to '&' initially. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?
Its doesn't make good impression to the new users.

When the ChatBox is set to display newest messages on the bottom and the input area is in the bottom, after refresh the scroll bar is not positioned at the bottom (i.e. the last few messages are not shown). Is there a solution to fix this?

You need to have VSa - Chatbox & ibproarcade installed.

Now create a new bbcode called 'siteurl' with the code

(This makes the game link in the chatbox open in the same window rather than a new one)

Yours is the first report of a possible problem. Are you sure you were running the latest version?

Odd the hackers would be so nice as to tell you how they were getting in so you could lock them out. That's not normal.

I kept seeing "guests" in my chat when they had no perms to get there. I checked it and they got smilies. But I was getting a lot of db errors on 4.1.9 and saw your post, so I uninstalled and installed the MGC Chatbox Evo (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=168992) and it's working.

I'd rather not take a chance with hackers. Too scary for me.

I can think of lots worse things to be afraid of than hackers. Like driving. Or walking on a public street. But assuming you're doing your due diligence as an admin and have automated current backups the worst that can happen from hackers is some downtime.

Q: My chatbox recently start getting stuck on the FORUMHOME page (on the loading screen). Nothing ever appears except the word loading. If you click on Chatbox Full and load it that way, you are able to see the msgs and chat like normal. When you go back to the FORUMHOME page, it then loads and functions like normal. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if this is something that has been addressed previously.

Well, after trying just about everything that I could think of, I finally ended up simply uninstalling and re-installing completely. This seems to have fixed whatever was wrong with it and now everything is functioning properly. The only bad thing is, is that I lost all of the archive. But other than that, at least it's working again. We've been using this mod for over a year now with no problems so I can only assume (since there have been no recent changes on my end) that the upgrade from 4.1.1 to 4.1.9 somehow did something. Oh well, all's well that ends well I guess.

**After a little messing with it, I discovered that after closing the browsers and reopening the forum, I am still getting stuck on the loading message. Once I view any forum post and go back to FORUMHOME, then it is functioning. Argh...anything??

**Update - Someone helped me find the problem that was causing this mod and another not to work. There was a line in the Add Ignore User To Postbit Dropdown (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=228673&highlight=Add+Ignore+User&page=2) mod that was conflicting in here. So I don't know if this will help anyone else or not, but what was removed here was the line

I'm running VB 4.1.8, and everything works so far except that the chat box appears either on all forums or none of them. I tried restricting it to just one forum, but when I do that it disapears altogether. Also tried playing with which forums the channel could be on, but that didn't help either.

Is there a compatability bug with this version of VB, or am I missing something else? :(

I'm having a problem getting the chat box to appear in the correct forums. The goal is to have the chat box appear in one particular forum using a specific channel, possibly adding more channels to other forums in the future.

Position of the chatbox on the forum home (forumhome) Do not Display
Position of the chatbox in the forums (forumdisplay) Above the threads
Ids of the forums in which the chatbox shall be displayed 6

If I leave the third one blank, the chat box appears in ALL of the forums. If I specify one forum (6 in this case), it doesn't appear in any of them. Am I specifying the forum ID incorrectly, or possibly missing something else?

i got the strange behavour, that only firefox users experience enourmous loading times in chatbox and VSA Advanced forum statistics..

My webserver runs on with:
- Debian LAMP
- 16 GB RAM
- Quadcore i7 (3.45 GHZ)
- vbulletin 4.1.8

Serverloads are like instant 0.01 0.01 0.01, so i guess it's a AJAX / FF issue..
I really do not know where to start - any suggestions?

Trust me I have no lag, lol. The one forum I have is 4.1.8 and no issues as the icons all appear. My other forum is 4.1.5 and the icons don't appear. Just the smiles do. Strange. I unloaded and reloaded them all over again and same thing, lol.

I've a problem with this addon. This problem is only "active" when a moderator is logged in. Admins and normal (guests too) don't have this problem. The problem is, it destroys the style, the logo_gfx. Also the layout itself is displayed multiple times inside the chatbox.

I'm using vBulletin Suite v4.1.9.

Please take a look on the attached screenshot.

Settings:
Show ChatBox on pages (comma separated THIS_SCRIPT locations) = index
Show ChatBox in templates (comma separated template names) = FORUMHOME
Position on page (Disable if you add ChatBox manually in templates) = Below Forums

Set permissions:
Usergroups able to view ChatBox but not post messages = 3,4
Usergroups NOT able to view ChatBox (comma separated ID list) = 1,8
Groups able to moderate ChatBox (comma separated usergroup IDs) = 5,6,7
Usergroups NOT able to edit messages (Banned automatically excluded) = 1,3,4,8

i have some error here..

some of my forum member cannot view chatbox.. i've check their usergroup permission and nothing wrong with usergroup permission because many member at the same usergroup can view chatbox.. they are not at banned chat list either..

when i try to move them to another usergroup, they can view the chat box.. but when i move to their origin usergroup, they cannot view the chatbox again..

any idea how to solve it ?

Hi valter, is there a way to fix the chatbox background . If you have a dark style on the forum , the chatbox background is grey colored and not transparent like used to, which is makes it hard to read the chat on the box.

Everyone else - I'm not sure today is the best time to suddenly pipe up with all the problems you've been holding onto. It's tough to troubleshoot all at once.

Some others - the author wasn't kidding when he said to revert any chatbox templates you (or someone else) may have edited in the past to fix color problems. If you're going to post that your colors are messed up, at least assure us you reverted all your templates.

ChatBox displays the same background which uses text editor for posts or PMs.

This is expected to be dark for dark styles...

editor_background is variable which you may wish to change to fix custom styles background color.

Your latest is working fine on vB4.1.10 for me also.

The only quirk I have (since vB4.1.7) is; I have one smilie that will not render (it did prior to 4.1.7).

OK it will not work with vb 4.1.10 now. I'm lost and nothing seems to work to change the color from white to black. When I go into editor it changes my whole forum colors. I just want to change that. I've upgraded to the latest version ChatBox 3.1.7 (with vB 4.1.10) and I cannot seem to find the option to automatically deleting chats after a given time? On the previous version (if I recall correctly), I used to have this set to 20 mins. After that time the messages would auto delete.

I had a chat with somebody yesterday on my site and the conversation was still there today. I had to manually delete the conversation myself. Does the product still retain the ability to auto delete the messages? If so, could you please advise on how to do this please?

I think it's just a reflection of how we all use this product in different ways. The autodelete used to work prior to the upgrade and that's how we want it on our site. I also think your requirements are valid too.

I have a dark background on my page as well so I had to fix the background color, but I noticed that the input box was unchanged by it, so I went into the vsa_chatbox_input template and added:

background-color:{vb:stylevar editor_background.backgroundColor};

after

Just went from GCBOS to this, really big difference (to the greater).

Only problem I have, and I see many other also requests this, is to use it flexable as a widget.
Or actually my aim is to only have the chat on one custom page in the CMS.

Have also tried to add it to different stylesheets without succeeding.
For example just above the footer in vbcms_page.

Any directions how I can manage this.

I added the chatbox, then updated a custom style and now my chatbox window is darker than I'd like.

I can't find for the life of me to change the color. Couldn't find anything in the additional.css, style vars, etc.

Any ideas?

Specificly the blocksubhead variables (background, border etc).

I need to change the color of the input box and it needs to be different then the color specified in the ".textbox, textarea, select, #vB_Editor_QR_editor" css.
I have been trying different things for a week now and cant get it to change.
Can someone please let me know how to change this without changing every thing else on my template.

You can do this by altering the "vsa_chatbox_input" template.
Just add a style background element that has the color that you want.
For example:

"blockrow_background.backgroundColor" is the styleelement I used, but you can also pick another one.

Is there anyway to fix this? My users are very annoyed by this.

First the chatbox to view the forum. Then look at the page source code and copy part because of the chatboxcode.

for vbulletim cms:
Create an html widget and insert the html code. that's it.


for vBadvanced CMPS:

Create a new template (for example: adv_portal_chatbox) and then insert the html code
then under-vba CMPS: Add module (module template) and then integrate the new template (in my example the adv_portal_chatbox)

hmm. weird. Your code works for me - see picture. (of course without the graphics in the source code because the urls are different). But it works, the code is correct.

CMPS:
do you have a created html module?
have you created a new template and then insert your source code?
and the template (for example: adv_portal_vsa_chatbox) inserted into the module?

How would I move the chatbox from under the navbar to say the header, sidebar, vb cms, etc?

I couldn't find any .css for it in the style manager and can only find how to resize it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Installed, like it and removed it. It seems every chatbox is having scrolling issues. Using Chrome and if a chat box gets a scroller because of too many text, it won't scroll down to the latest message. Even when you already scrolled down entirely, a new message won't show up as you'll have to scroll down again..

I recently moved the chat box to the bottom of the page.

When I did this IE users started getting errors. They get 404 errors and page moved errors. IF they wait the page will refresh.

Can I get rid of this, so the only place you can see the chatbox is on the forum I specify in the settings?

Anyway, i got the shoutox installed on FORUMHOME but when i access the forums from my domain the shoutbox sits there "loading...." and wont ever load

when i once reloaded the site it works flawlessly, but this bug is annoying like mad :(

and somehow the shoutbox causes HAVY serverload :P compared to others

Every now and again.. And not often i find i cant post certain things.
I just never worried about it. Anyway i tried to post the below sentence and for the life of me can not. Not can anyone else.

I am not trying to be funny with the above. Its simply a sentence i can not post in the shoutbox.
I dont run any word filters or anything like that as my shoutbox gets very low brow.
Is there some other filter i dont know about?
I can post any word i can think of singly without a problem. All the big bombs so never imagined there was a filter.

Can someone else try that sentence in there shoutbox and see if it works for them please?

That's a skimpy screenshot, but I see a notice in it. Anyway, I'm pretty sure we've had this discussion before - try a 'search this mod' for 'notices'. You may just have to move the chatbox to a different location. Or remind us what the specific Feature Request was.
