Same here 3.7.12 installed on vBulletin 3.7 Gold

Everything else in the hack seems to work perfectly, except on the main awards page, where it is showing the same user no matter what query number is used for the award.

I'm going to investigate the issue further myself during this evening though (left it this long as i've got my site down for upgrades, so it was not top priority), as i don't know why exactly but I feel it may be something pretty simple and hopefully easy to fix.

I used to love playing the game as a kid and the thought of being able to use it on my forum, using my members as the cards tickles me somewhat!

The cards themselves would take their info from:

The top three values (Username, Forum Rank, Avatar) would form the title and the picture of the card whilst the bottom four values (Level, Activity, Total Posts, Posts Per Day) would form the card stats.

The beauty of the this would be that the cards would change dynamically in relation to members forum usage. Many of them might make a point of using the forum more often in order to increase the value of their stats too.

There are loads of potential features that I can think of - although it would probably complicate things, but I'm thinking of stuff like:

1. Game room which lists current games, plus lets members challenge other members to a game.

2. Link in with awards system which gives a prize to users if they win a defined number of games.

3. A setting which only creates a trump card once a user has got past a certain point level. This would ensure that the game would not include all the non-posters who might over-run any stats. It might also give forum members yet more incentive to post if they knew that they could become a trump card.

4. Link in with vbCredits so that users could actually buy more trump cards.

5. Live or practice games - members can choose to risk losing their cards to other members or play for fun - cards are returned to the respective member at the end of a game. Again, this could be reflected in the points awarded - ie live games would add or remove points from a users experience whilst practice games would have no effect on their point level.

If somebody could have all this sorted by 8:30am tomorrow morning, I'd be eternally grateful! ;) Seriously though, I think it would make a great mod and would certainly give users a reason to keep posting!

This stuff needs documentation in your setup instructions.

Pretty sure you goto your admincp, then to 'usergroups'. Then edit the admin one. You should see an option for primary and secondary usegroups. You can then select admin as 'secondary' using the check-box.

Because it's querying many tables to gather all the stats. Strange that you are asking why it has so many queries and in the same post you are requesting more features ;)

Do you have made a custom award? If yes, check the Identificator - it has to be the name of the graphic. In this case your award has the identificator award (award_award.png), right?

This is a CMPS XML Module. Load it as a module. Works only with CMPS 3.0 GOLD.

.DB does not come with vBExperience. Maybe you are using a picture viewer that is generating thumbnails, like Windows Explorer?

The only mention of primary or secondary on that page [cp-usergroup-admin] is:

"Allow Users to have Member Groups
(Sets whether or not permissions from the user's member (secondary) user group memberships are inherited or not)"

This option has choices of yes and no. That does not sound like one is making admin a secondary user group, or I just don't understand the wording here. Maybe someone can explain?

The warning message on Vbexperience cp page says:

YOU CAN LOSE YOUR ADMIN STATUS IF YOUR PRIMARY GROUP IS "Administrators"! CHANGE THE GROUP TO SECONDARY BEFORE YOU ENABLE THIS.

Does that mean change the Administrators group to a secondary group or classification? And if so where in control panel is that handled? The user page seems to be a better place to do that than usergroup.

I think the problem here is with the wording:

CHANGE THE GROUP TO SECONDARY BEFORE YOU ENABLE THIS

It should say change your [you: the owner of the forum] primary usergroup classification to registered user and your secondary usergroup classification to administrator. The way that you have phrased it, in English, makes it sound like you can change a usergroup to primary or secondary, which if I am not mistaken is impossible. It is the user class that is changed, not the usergroup class that is changed. Right?

Not sure if this has been answered yet or not.

I have a number of usergroups omitted from the point calculations (admins and moderators). When I recalculate the points they are correctly not included and I don't see them in the ranking table. They have however still managed to pick up 4 awards, is this correct? I wouldn't of thought they should be able to and don't want them to. I have regenerated the points and awards and the problem still persists.

so I closed the hooks from config.php

I'm runnin a major forum and this is my forum statistics:
Threads: 74,549, Posts: 770,397, Members: 137,814, Active Members: 26,972


Last night i importet plugin then 10minutes cron started calculating my users XPeriences while its aint completed till now! its ~15 hours which its CalculateXP()in my board points!
here is my mysqltop stats right now(high qps now value!):
MySQL on localhost (5.0.51a-log) up 4+08:11:16 [09:21:43]
Queries: 261.4M qps: 731 Slow: 0.0 Se/In/Up/De(%): 51/00/00/00
qps now: 1254 Slow qps: 0.0 Threads: 78 ( 75/ 239) 10/00/00/00
Key Efficiency: 100.0% Bps in/out: 0.1/ 78.5 Now in/out: 8.3/ 8.7k



90% of queries are CalculateXP()'s queries!
now its calculating userid=103202 which means ~75% of calculating progress is done and my server loads is:
load average: 26.73, 26.93, 27.25
Its killing my forum from last night!

My question is when this high cron is done for first time, will this take same time or same resources for next times??!

BTW again i've to appreciate your work, its really amazing, You are calculating all of possible points in forum

Such a complete recount is only needed after first install and if you changed settings e.g. more points for threads. The cron which is running every 10 minutes does a recount for people who did a fresh post. It just updates their points.

One question, are we able to disable certain ranking parameters ? Like for instance i'd like to disable the Infraction part... as sometimes members start out bad and then get good over time..it would suck if they had to see that stamped on their record forever.

Oops 2 questions.. And is there a Counter that has to be run that calculates all the previous members that have registered years ago ?

I just downloaded the zip from here, and re-uploaded the PHP files to my server.
Then, I tried to upload the xml file product, by the admin cp, and it made the database error... Then i've uploaded the level xml ("vbexperience_level_2_average"), and it worked.. but the product still didn't worked, and gave me errors...

I am still using vb experience 3.10, because i cannot update the product with the xml BUT the files on my server are 3.12 ones. :/

Marius, unfortunately due to really high server load caused by this mod i've decided to uninstalling this mod:(
First disabled cron jobs and restarted webserver to stop cron jobs but still forum was with lag
disabled whole vBexperienve product still same issue
at least i've decided to uninstall vbXperience and problem solved

I'm not having lag problems, but I'd like to see this as well. I'd love to see rewards given out based on what has happened over a specific time period like a week or month, instead of just handing it to the top in each category since the beginning of the board.

Not sure what you mean. I don't see a field for points in the Edit Award screen. Assign this award manually and default order are both set to 0. Limit the award to a position in query is set to 1 for silver.

On the points page, I'm giving points for posts which is what I'm giving this award for. There are two fields for this in the awards screen, points_post and points_posts. I've tried both and neither give an award.

Yep, and when I change the default properties of the old awards it generates them for new people. For any new awards, it lists them on the page, but just never hands them out. They always just stay at 0.

I'm having some problems with custom awards assigned to an individual account.

Some times they just won't "take". This is even if I run all the cron jobs manually, click generate awards, etc.

For example, I have a staff member who is taking forever to complete the build of his car. I want to give him a "longest build ever" award.

You mean the alt text for the bars? Why would that cause the bars to be longer? And also, I don't want the bars if they can't have the extra info when you hover over them..

Follow the installation instruction. The extra files are extras, you don't need them in normal case.

i have vb 3.7 , your latest product , im using level 3 ( previously tried level 2) i recounted under maintenence..

i have a user with 1000's of posts at the top of my leader board, however i dont want to award for posting as it will encourage 1 word posts to push up points.. so i changed experience points to 0 points for posts and more points for threads and thrad views, thanks etc..

i ran maintenence thinking it would rearrange the leader board to reflect the new points awarded but the high post members are still at teh top of the leader board? how do i change this? i was assuming running maintenence and crons, i could recount and show new leader to reflect no pints for posts.. but the leader board still displays points for posts??

please help me recount all members reflecting new settings?

Probably you are using custom styles that are not compatible with vBulletin 3.7 - please revert postbit / postbit_legacy to see it. Take a look at the original templates where the template hooks called $template_hook are and copy them to your style.

Anyone explain to me how levels are calculated? It seems to change at all hours of the day. I understand the total points are in descending order but not necessarily levels. Some users have lower levels but higher points. Can anyone explain how this works? You shud have a read me file on this... definitions and how it works.

You have a folder called extras, im assuming its the images for bars and such :)
But where do i put that?
because on the statastics and such i just see the level and stuff but all spaced out

Nothing, it automatically detects the installation of the thanks hack. Check in settings if the given points for given thanks and use of thanks are ok for you.

Just figured this out I think, When you go to Manage Awards You get the Edit Award Screen:
Identificator
Graphics are included with this: award_IDENTIFICATOR.gif -- (Here is where you put the image name just the last portion of the name) If you look at the images in the files included they are either silver,gold,broze that goes in the other block named Limit the Award to a position in query Use 0 for GOLD Award, 1 for Silver, etc... And then click on the fields you want to give award in and hit save.

I'm still not sure how to change the 'vbexperience' so it says 'XP' I've gone to the phrase manager, done a search for vbexperience but it lists several different things, not sure which one I am meant to change? Do I type in the replace 'vbexperience' with 'Xp' in the lanuages box?

Per default the promotion system is disabled, so you don't need to worry about this. If you wanna use it, you should assign all people to secondary usergroups.

Per default the promotion system is disabled, so you don't need to worry about this. If you wanna use it, you should assign all people to secondary usergroups.
Where would I have to edit code so that user's secondary group is changed due to a promotion instead of primary? Is that possible? Would it even be a good idea?

I have Vbex since when was published, first for 3.6.8 and since a couple of months ago for 3.7.

I had a problem with this: I had to create a new user group and when I changed users from their regular group for this new one they just couldn't had permission to see Vbex pages. All I did was reinstall the product and everything is OK now.

Trying to solve this problem I noticed that on "Show All Prizes" screen, all I can see are users' avatars and names but the prizes legend can't be seen. I have only 5 prizes set up on my forum, on post bit I can see every user with its repective prize but on "Show All Prizes" screen I can see some people twice that has only one prize and can't someone else that has a prize on post bit.

Funny is I still have my old 3.6.8 still running (I kept it for tests only) and for this one the "Show All Prizes" screen is displayed correctly.

Any idea ?

What's new?
Primary a bunch of known bugs have been fixed, including a lot of overall improvements.
Secondary, as a paid request of the The Brotherhood of International Gamers, a virtual Shop has been introduced.

Here is an overview of the most requested stuff:
- Added Shop: Users can buy virtual items that you can define via AdminCP. You can decide which points should be substracted by a purchase. Supports categories.
- Added: Navigaton bar
- Added new xperience: "thanks - vS-Hide Hack Resurrection (Expanded Edition)". This one is controlled by the already existing "thanks" setting.
- Awards: Manual assign of awards to multiple users possible via seperating ID's with a comma
- Experience: Now working with "Memberlist per page" (formerly static 50 users per page)
- Experience: Added possibility to search members by name
- Experience: Added new setting: Count only active users. Only users who were active in the last X days are beeing calculated. Speeds up performance on large boards.
- Experience: Added new behaviour: Stats of ignored users/usergroups are deleted
- Experience: Fixed double stats for particular users
- Added: Before installation, check if class_xperience.php is uploaded

And as always many smaller fixes and changes.

How to upgrade?
1. Copy ALL (I mean ALL) files from /upload/ to the server. Espacially take care of the images, copy them to your style misc folder if you use a customized style
2. ReImport product_vbexperience3714.xml, allow overwrite
3. If you modified any of the vBExperience templates, revert them ALL
4. Run Maintenance Tools/Recount

vBExperience 3.7.14 GOLD will be released next week.

Please use identificators only once, or you will get doubled awards. Identificator is just the internal name of the award that is also beeing used for the graphic - see description of the identificator in admincp.

Hmmm, currently disabling post count in postbit doesn't remove the post count from the userinfo. What it does do is remove the numbered link to "view single post" of every post in a thread. Hope you can get that fixed then, looking forward to it.

And there is an error somewhere in the new xperience.php file. My forum root is: forum/

After buying an item the redirect screen takes me to: /xperience.php?go=shop

Instead of: forum/xperience.php?go=shop

I got around this problem with a 301 redirect, but I'm sure others will run into it. Just a head's up.

I am curious if it has maybe been posted in this thread already or if you have any instructions anywhere for adding in additional point things such as giving points and it being able to track what the points were for like you do for the blog with other addons. I havent looked at the code behind it just, but I will in a little bit as I am working on setting up the last of the important pieces to start promoting this site possible today. I have a strong background in coding so if you have any pointers or recommendations of where to look at least let me know. I know I am planning to create point possibilities for quite a few actions that are possible on my site to really see about what potential can be had with this modification to spark activity and interest in a social networking site.

Found a problem with your current hook setup.


This hook can be used to calculate own data and add it to existing main provider count_misc

To add points to misc:

$xperience['count_misc'] += $xperience['count_misc_YOURPROVIDER'];



Well the problem with that is when xperience_calcdata is called in its before the $xperience['count_misc'] gets set to 0. xperience_sqlupdate hook is also to late to update it.

Suggestion: Initialize the counting array element before the hook is called.

Example:
