i recieve some gift from another member, when i buy the same item from the shop, the item amount are increased but still not able to sell one of it or give away the item to another member.

I have followed all uninstall steps yet there is still the awards drop down in the admin control panel. I have deleted the files from the admincp on the server as well as the rest but it is still there!

Any ideas on how to remove it fully?

I want to fully remove this from the database too, I am sure it hasnt fully removed everything using the kill file.

You will need to edit the level xml files. See also "readme_levels.txt"

Is it possible to set a negative amount of points to the value "points per day"?
I tried, but it doesn't work... it's the same result as setting it to "0".

I'd like to use that as a way to check real participation of people in the forum. I mean, the day they are in the forum, but don't use it, they'll loose total points, the day they participate, they'll earn points... So, if they stay in the forum for a long time with no activity, they'll loose levels. (I don't know if I could explain it properly :p).

So, is there a way to use negative points per day registered?

Some bugs that I found:

1 - In shop, create an item and set a price for it (100 points for example) and set the resell rate to something (75% for example). Then, ask someone to buy that item. Now, change the price of the item in the shop (1000 points for example). Now, ask that person to sell the item. Instead of selling it for 750 points, it will sell for 75 points or less.

2 - For some weird reason, after giving points to someone (custom points in AdminCP), now ALL users are screwed after a recount (everyone is now with zero points). And the person that I gave points (10000 points) is now with 20000 more points.

3 - If you disable the shop, items will still be showing in postbit.

SOME MORE SUGGESTIONS:

* Ability to give and remove items for users in AdminCP (items need to be created first in the shop).

* Ability to create custom items to give to users in AdminCP (in this case, items will no be shown in the shop).

* Ability to show the descriptions of the items in addition to their names, in postbit.

* If you don´t want to create a separate value for money, make this mod compatible with some of the point systems avaliable.

Sounds strange, cannot confirm this atm. Can you provide me a temporary Admin account so I can take a look?

Use the normal way to edit settings/options. This is only a "shortcut", that is not working sometimes.

However we are having some issues and I think it is this causing them. Basically, when I enable the shop, I can't view some profiles or add people as friends and some other stuff. Here is the error I get when I click on a users profile with the shop enabled...

Ok that seems to have fixed the error message I was getting when the shop was enabled. However when I add custom points and recount it doesn't actually update that users points.

If I give the PPD a value, what cron do I disable? When I disabled the activity cron, it never calculated the activity.

I basically want to set the PPD to 250 and then have vBEexpience calculate the activity from that value.

Ok that seems to have fixed the error message I was getting when the shop was enabled. However when I add custom points and recount it doesn't actually update that users points.
Are the custom points shown in ACP or in stats?

If I give the PPD a value, what cron do I disable? When I disabled the activity cron, it never calculated the activity.

I basically want to set the PPD to 250 and then have vBEexpience calculate the activity from that value.
Will be fixed in next version.

How to upgrade?
1. Copy ALL (I mean ALL - That is a common error!) files from upload_via_ftp/ to the server. Espacially take care of the images, copy them to your style misc folder if you use a customized style.
2. ReImport product_vbexperience382.xml, allow overwrite
3. If you modified any of the vBExperience templates, revert them
4. Run Maintenance Tools/Recount (this is needed to fix activity!)

It's a virtual shop. Members can buy items, they appear (setable) in profile and postbit. Some users are using this to sell real items.

What I was saying is... I have seen multiple posts addressing this particular SQL error. I assume this error is from the Post Thanks Scoring Hack? In anycase, I too have received this error.

But when I took the SQL from the email and pasted it into phpAdmin I got a NULL result.

To figure out why or what the query wanted I removed parts specifically "AND languageid IN (-1, 0, 1);"

This gave me the language phrase I belive the script was looking for. Therefore I assumed the languageid code was the problem for getting a NULL script.

So I played with the languageid code (changed it from -1 to 1) and reran the original SQL.

I got the return.

Out of confussion, I changed the languageid code back to -1 and I then got the return again.

Hmmmm....

So I imagine the SQL insert for this particular phase and languageid might be putting in a -1 with a blank space? Somehow the -1 for postthanks is corrupt?

Yes, as long you can "link" an virtual item with a real one. If you enable it, you are getting an eMail (purchase certificate) upon a purchase.

Hi Phalynx ! I have some strange issues lately... I have some users that gathered lots of points when i started the forum and vBExperience... got on the first places... and left the forum for a few months now. The problem is somehow related to how PPD are computed or something... because although they have 0 Activity for months, they are still gathering too much experience points every day.

Hi Phalynx ! I have some strange issues lately... I have some users that gathered lots of points when i started the forum and vBExperience... got on the first places... and left the forum for a few months now. The problem is somehow related to how PPD are computed or something... because although they have 0 Activity for months, they are still gathering too much experience points every day.

Is there a formula or a way that i could substract points for low activity ? Or maybe the PPD to be computed different for those with 0 Activity ? Or maybe some addon... ?

Just disable the modification, this is an known error in 3.8.x and will be fixed in 3.8.3

You need to edit the level XML that your are currently using (e.g. vbexperience_level_2_average.xml)

In that XML every level, needed points and usergroups are defined:

To promote a user to usergroupid 3 and level 10 by reaching 500 points you need to enter 500, 10, 3.

For some reason the Most Posts award is going to the person with 2,660 posts. And yes, I only allow each user to have 1 award, but this isn't effecting this because the user with the 3,648 posts has the trophy for second place for Most POINTS (it skips the first place Leader for Most Points since he already has an award like its supposed to). How do I fix this so that the user that has the most actual posts is the award holder of Most Posts?

Finally, how do I remove Activity completely? I don't think it was explained very well and none of us can really figure it out. Some of my brand new and hardly active members are having 60%+ activity while it just started saying that the mods and our highest posters have 0%. Doesn't make sense, so I'd rather remove all signs of it unless there is something I'm missing.

There is no way to change the display.

It does not calculate only posts, it takes the postcount and multiplies it with the value you defined in settings for this. So if threads are higher valued, a user get's more points for threads as for posts.
Also, check the query position in the award config.

Calculation of the activity
The system calculates the activity by taking the average post count of the ten most active user and comparing it to own post count. This can be set to count only the last X days, f.e. 21 days (controlable via AdminCP) .


There is the problem of activity being 99% for some of the user.

Why is 99% a problem? There can only be one user that has 100%.

Set the points for infractions to 0 in admincp/settings

You can disable the shop easily via settings. But Plaza and other hacks are not compatible to vBExperience

Strange thing, because the name in welcome is not a "rich username". I assume you have a custom hack that does this.

One bug some of my users are reporting is that they can't give away items they buy. Seems to be like the bug reported before.

I create custom level xml, and import it after i finished upgrading to 3.8.3. My user is so crazy they could actually jump 2 or 3 level per week. So i created custom level that i hope could expand their level higher. I follow your guide to create a higher set of level on readme_level.txt

I already done creating the new level set based on vbexperience_level_7_crazy.xml (using the XLS), and start importing it, then recount. Also, i have already set the Experience : Bars's Max Level to 255 before recount.

when recount is done, my user level capped at 100. They can't go higher. I checked everything, the xperience value, xperience level and usergroup, they are all right.

At the readme, i noted
Create your own levels
You can define the needed levels for your own - I've included an MS Excel Sheet with the raw data and also three XML Samples for small, average and big sites. Also, you have the possibility to decrease given points for e.g. posts and threads.
The XML files are generated via vBExperience_Level.xls, copied to a text editor, removed tabs and copied to XML. Using it that way you can define your own levels and also promotions. Just do some experiments with the XLS sheet. Currently only levels from 0 to 100 are supported.

I think it will be nice if vbex have some achievement system. Achievement could be given when user completed some set of condition, created by the admin. We can call it a 'quest'. :D

example,
user will get this icon, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ when they finished a quest for creating thread for the first time.
user will get this icon https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ if they already make 50 post on the boards.

I can't make this happen using the award, because its only affect one member at a time, and i think it's too linear to create this using promotion system. I think achievement should be dynamically unlocked, and could be keeped by everyone, based by some condition.

It'll be getting more interesting if one medal could be a multiplier to their points. Perhaps bonus exp point, perhaps faster levelling, perhaps bonus item, perhaps just a simple medal. There's so much thing that could be make by integrating achievement system in vbexperience. Too bad i'm not such a programmer.

I see that you have a user with level 133 already, so what is wrong with it? How did you solved it?
I tweaked some lines in upload_via_ftp/includes/class_xperience.php

right now i can't make the level bar to show up correctly, a level 133 user ( max level 255 ) is having their orange bar maxed out at 133. It should show as a half of the maximum. But right now, i still can't solve it.

There is the "Earn Points"-Section where they see how many points they get for what.
But its a nice idea to have some kind of ladder, implemented into the rankings.

If that is an action that you can track in the database, you can write a plugin for vBExperience.

You will need to access the database and modify your entry in the user table. Or you upload the file tools.php from your vBulletin ZIP ('Reset Admin Access')

I lucked out... somehow one of my admin accounts was not "promoted" and I was able to login and switch my main admin account back.

I have since deactivated PROMOTIONS for ever! LOL

Give Away Points to other users with just few clicks. It also ends the mess with the graphics stored in different style folders.

vBExperience 3.8.4 BETA 3 has been released. The changes were focused on bugfixing from Beta 2, also there is a great new overview of what is going on on your forum. It's called "Acitivities" and it is showing like your members gain points, promote, do transactions in the shop. Also, the recount process is now applied also to users that don't post by triggering a recount of their points by login.

Download the ZIP from the first post and do an upgrade:

Now all I am going to do is hard code a link under the experience bars in the blogs to "Give Points to Friends".

SUGGESTION 1:
Having a link in the post bit to give points to that user would be great. I have been hard coding that since I first installed.

The new activities page is awesome. We now need a block developed to pull these stats to our vba cmps homepages.
