My thank button is looped too and also the list of Thankers is after every post instead of just the first one! I managed to get rid of the multiple thanks by limiting thanks to the first post, but still the list of thankers is after EVERY POST in the thread which clutters the whole page.

Same problem here. It loops and then I limited to the first post but same as yours, the list of members that thanked is showing at the bottom of each post and it is sooo ugly.

Please make sure all the files are uploaded. Also, make sure custom styles have the new template hooks.

I'm currently using version 7.2 of Thanks with vBulletin 3.6.8 One problem I'm having though is deleting all thanks made by a specific member using the Special Action. When I enter the member's user ID (ie: 27668) and press enter, I get the following error:

BTW, the Special Action only fails for this user apparently. I tried it on a regular member, and it went through fine. This user, who is now banned, made over 52,940 thanks, probably with a script or something.

Thanks Abe1. I went ahead and just uninstalled then reinstalled the hack to clear the corrupted stats, so there's not much to look at now. Not sure how the member was able to basically make 50k thanks in a couple of hours, but I was running an older version of the hack (5.x I think) when it happened. It's now running the latest version. He was even able to thank posts in threads that were viewable only to moderators. Hopefully it had something to do with the older version.

I just realized the same thing. It does count when it's thanked but it only shows when I'm in my PM box. And yes, I have two styles. What should I do?

I regulary hear complainments about that users can't see the hidden part after thankin', not even after refreshing. Also I hear a lot that they can see the hidden part after thankin', but if they go away and come back to see the hidden part again, it won't show up again.

Also I get this error if I want to search at all thanked post for a user:
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
Is this a setting or somethin' else?

I found the problem.

In the "Insructions - vb-3-6-6 - vb-3-6-7.txt" file, the template edit instructions are wrong.

I compared them to the edit instructions for vb-3-6-8 and it looks like this part:

When the original thread starter presses "Remove All" the 'thanks' button appears in the postbit_legacy, even though the option is set to not allow the ability to thank oneself. Pressing this button does nothing, it just dissapears. It seems the check for this option is ignored when removing all the thanks, just thought I'd let you know.

There will no longer be a tab by next version. It will be in the statistics tab. You will be able to blank out the 'post_thanks_memberinfo_block' template to remove the stats.

Correct, that is the guests usergroup.

Yes, "Unregistered / Not Logged In" is the guests usergroup and its id is 1.

I also tried with 6 and I can see "post thanks" as an admin too.

Hmm, one more thing I've noticed, this is a relatively easy system to abuse, you can include a hard link in your signature that when visited will bump the thanks count of a particular post. While not exactly disastrous, it means the system can be quite easily made redundant.

Having the link itself hide the functionality using javascript or using an md5 hash (a bit overkill) would be an ideal solution, as it stands I will likely have to remove the mod until I can implement these features myself. Still, thanks for the effort, it's got some neat features and if it weren't for my cynical userbase might have been useful.

Hi. I did something really dumb. It was late, and for some reason while upgrading from vb 3.6.8 to 3.7 I uninstalled the old thanks before installing the new one. Everyone lost their thanks and some people are pissed. I have good daily backups. I restored the post_thanks table. What else do I need to restore to make the thanks show up in threads and have the thanks counts be correct? Thank you very much! :D

The hack adds rep to the original rep system, and is not stand alone. I would presume the only way to back it out would be manually. As far as controlling rep, you might consider lowering the rep amount to a small number or even 0.

Everyone lost their thanks and some people are pissed. I have good daily backups. I restored the post_thanks table. What else do I need to restore to make the thanks show up in threads and have the thanks counts be correct? Thank you very much! :D

You seem to be correct; Abe1's 368 & 37x Post Thanks appears to be one and the same.
Hmmm. I'm stumped, too. What version of vB are you running, vB368?
Make sure you're reading the correct install instructions, Abe1 has 5 different install scenarios for different versions of Vb. Re-do the install, reload the product xml file with Overwrite on. (I would NOT recommend uninstalling first; this may/might wipe out the Post Thanks MySQL table (I'm not sure here)).
Note: If you have more than 1 style you need to copy the post_thanks.gif into each & every style you have, into each style's \images\buttons folders.
If that works, in AdminCP, rerun the Post Thanks Recounter.

P.S. I've upgraded my active forum to 369. I use vB's supplied templates. Post Thanks work flawlessly. It also works just fine in my testvb 370RC2 test forum. Hmmmm.

I'm running Vb 3.6.8.

I have just reinstalled the Post Thank and I followed exactly what the readme file said, however, the problem still persists.

I only have 1 style on my forum and I uploaded the button image to buttons folder already :(

And not just the Thank button, the list of members who thanked also disappeared :(

I realized that even I'm using Vb 3.6.8, I have to follow the instruction to install into Vb 3.6.0 and 3.6.5 because the templates need to be modified again.

So if anybody has the same problem with me, remember to edit your templates as described on the file Insructions - vb-3-6-0 - vb-3-6-5.txt

I am not quite as large as you as we are just under 900k posts but we do have over 2.7 million thanks issued on the board and it runs well since about the v5.x mark. Pre-v5.x was a killer with a lot of thanks.

Without question a great hack. But unfortunately, ever since installed. Internet explorer won't function properly with our VB forum. Won't display gifs posted on the navbar? I am assuming it has to do with this hack. Any ideas as to why this may be the case?

Abe1 I have one problem with GARS.. -.-
When click into Thanks Button where GARS is enabled I get this error:
Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in [path]/post_thanks.php on line 52

I have try to add security token into Ajax request but this not fixed my problem.. You have any ideas??

The line 52 is:

It seems this error occurs only if I visit a thread where a user thanked and that user was deleted.

Edit:
Deleting all thanks from a specific user results also in this error.

I had the add-on installed on 3.6.10 and it was working fine. Just upgraded to 3.7. I uninstalled the add-on and then installed it again. The thanks button shows up fine when reading a post, but if you click on the thanks button I do not see the box that shows who has thanked this person. Am I missing something?

Why would this be occurring for some and not others? I have several mods that still work in 3.7 that I thought would be out because of security tokens. Do you have to enable this somewhere?
