I did it in a much easier way... just uploaded all the files (image1.gif, image2.gif, game.swf, gameinstall.php) into admincp/games, and then ran v3 Arcade - Mass Game Import in AdminCP. Worked fine for a bunch I tried from the collection of 590. No need to copy each file into each folder manually beforehand.

Now these I couldn't get working. Where should the folders be copied? I put them into admincp/games and the Mass Add didn't recognize them. I took the files out and put them in admincp/games, and Mass Add recognized/installed them... but the games themselves wouldn't launch. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the games that have a subfolder of more swf files in /games, with names like "yeti9_data." basically any game with more than one associated .swf file aren't working. How can I try again, with installing these games manually instead?

The link on the navbar for Arcade and VRadio points to /arcade.php instead of forum/arcade.php. If I go to the forum page then click Arcade link it points correctly. If I click on another link on the Home page before selecting Arcade it points correctly.

All games are in the proper locations w/ images. Permissions are all 777 on the various folders. Import doesn't work. Something like 100 games in there. Not working.

is there any way to make it so that my members have to pay to use the arcade? i have been getting a lot of people registering then not posting but just playing the arcade games...i have set a post count minimum but all that does is have my board spammed to the post count then they stop posting again, if there was a way for the arcade games to cost with the ebux store it would make the people post so they can play the games

if you read back a couple of pages, theres a few references to this.
apparentley, theres going to be an update to the arcade hack on march 12th, and then theres going to be integration with ebux...pay per play.....

if the user has set their arcade options to allow challenges then you can challenge the the member by clicking on their trophy there should then be the challenge option

That's weird, on my Arcade, when a game has yet to be played (and has no high scores) there is no "highscores" to click!

Instead it says:

So not sure what the discrepancy would be... are you running the latest version?

That's true, the link isn't on the frontpage of the Arcade or in the catagories.
But when you open a game to play, there is always a link on the right to the scorepage, just above the "use your backbutton tip".

Even with the PLUG-IN system, this baby just wouldn't uninstall.. I wound up manually adding and changing and running the uninstall (from Plugin) over and over again... Finally got it removed from my system.

The reason for the CREATE TABLE statements in the code below is that the uninstaller would drop those tables before erroring out on the "drop arcadepermissions" statements... So that when I put the data in (using the ALTER TABLE statement).. the uninstaller would then croak on a "Table not found" error.. So, as I then had to go back and put the table back in, round and round and round she went... Finally got the right sequence and the uninstaller removed (safely I hope) what it wanted and finished completely..
All I can say is WHAT A MESS! - Here's the SQL statements I had to put in pieces at a time as I ran the uninstaller...

I can't see to find this in 80 pages of posts but it's probably mentioned here. When ever I click on my Active users link on the front page of my forum, and members are in the arcade, my header becomes message up because there is some additional code up there, like this: arcade.php

There are no more games to import.

Anyone have a fix for this?

All games are in the proper locations w/ images. Permissions are all 777 on the various folders. Import doesn't work. Something like 100 games in there. Not working.

This was a first install, no previous version.
Did you ever figure this out? I just installed the arcade (new install) and it shows up fine but no games are listed in the arcade or in the admin panel. I can see the default games in the folder but they are not loaded. I have triple checked my permissions.

Has the developer for this program stopped supporting it? I've asked the above question on his forum and here and still haven't received a reply back from anyone. I've done a quick search on his forum for "arcadeadmin.php on line 592" and the first 3-4 threads are having the same problem with either no help and one without a single reply.

A few reasons for the +1 day delay...

1. The other person on support only works Monday-Friday.
2. Slower uptake makes it easier to sort out any minor bugs before too many people install.
3. I've been working all week and I could use at least a few hours of spare time on my weekend.

arcadeimport.php has only ever been a tool to import scores and games from v3 Arcade for vBulletin 3.0.x. From the upgrade instructions:

How exactly are you trying to install games? Are they v3 or ibp games? Are you extacting them first? Have you chmodded the correct directories?

I've always been able to install both types of games without any problems whatsoever.

I translated the whole system into german and have seen many other hacks killing my custom phrases after an upgrade.

I know you've been busy, congratulations on getting the latest release out.. But I was sad to see that the Mysql problems I (and others) encountered with the previous versions were not even addressed in this version.
Question: Does your arcade "uninstall" as easily as it installs?

Could you perhaps take a few minutes to explain "How to uninstall" your arcade should a database error be encountered?

I really think you'd make mileage out of your material if you'd listen to some of the real world problems people are having with the version and not try to ADD to the product before those problems are solved or at least a work-around provided. I see many, many questions here that simply go unanswered. I know you're busy trying your best to bring everthing to everyone.. But before we need a neat new scoring system, or multi-user ability.. I really think there should be some work done on how to FIX a database or safely UNINSTALL a product.

How exactly are you trying to install games? Are they v3 or ibp games? Are you extacting them first? Have you chmodded the correct directories?

I've always been able to install both types of games without any problems whatsoever.


I've tried installing the games by uploading them to the games dir in the admincp and running the import script within admincp. I've also tried uploading the games in each of the directories manually then adding them - either way I get the same error.

I've posted this error twice in this forum with no anwswers, I've also posted on your site as well, nothing there either. I've found 2-3 other members on your site with the same error but also either got no reply or replies with nothing solving the problem.

Please advise.

I really think you'd make mileage out of your material if you'd listen to some of the real world problems people are having with the version and not try to ADD to the product before those problems are solved or at least a work-around provided. Ive just done an upgrade. Ran the clean script. Then installed the addon and made sure templates were correct. When I do the the step of "Game Importing" I get...

First of all, I don't give support over MSN. Secondly, you were sending me messages on a weekend evening, at nearly 1am. Thirdly, my status was clearly set to "Busy". There's a support centre where 100% of tech support tickets and enquiries are answered.

Well that's tricky, isn't it? The question certainly isn't "stupid" to the person asking the question, otherwise they wouldn't have taken the time to submit it to the support centre in the first place.

I ran the upgrade this evening, but ran into an issue. First, I lost every game that didn't come with the install of the v3arcade and second of those original games it reverted back the scores to the previous high before I reset my arcade scores.

Did I do something wrong and if so what did I do wrong or was this a known occurence?

In AdminCP Usergroups -> Usergroupmanager -> you must select the Arcade Permissions for the Usergroups first. This was my resolution to fight this error. :banana:

Version 1.0.5 seems to be working great on my boards. However, the Microstats hack alerted me to a minor problem with the software: The arcade_award_bit template is no longer being cached properly, where it was before with 1.0.2. (I had to add a plug-in in order to fix this problem.)

Okay, noob questions coming in-but I need to learn this so here goes:

I downloaded the install to MY computer and install directions say to, "upload all the files from the "files" directory in this zip into your forums directory".

How do I do this (assuming FTP here) and then how do I access the forums directory using my plug in (first time using that-we just upgraded).

I DID manage to change my templates though! I just can NOT for the life of me figure out this other aspect of the install.

In addition, the former owner HAD the arcade up but removed the hack to try and upgrade vB herself. It didn't work, so I ended up paying for pro. upgrade myself. ANYWAYS, I know that the games she did have are still in the files and I really do think that the files for the v3arcade are still there too.

After I changed templates, I thought it would just allow us to access those files, but got this error instead;

mySQL error: No database selected
mySQL error code:

I think I understand why this happened but again, being so new to this, I'm not sure how to fix this.

It seems impossible to upload games. I upload the .swf files, set the File Path in Game Tools to the folder I uploaded them to, then hit Start. It NEVER finds the games.

"Extract and upload the games you want to import into the arcade/games folder." - There is no "arcade" folder in the forum root, so what is this talking about? Why does it tell me WHERE to upload my games to, then offer the chance to SPECIFY my chosen file path? Surely that is a conflict.


Let's take a look at the steps.

1. Extract and upload the games you want to import into the arcade/games folder. Make sure that you CHMOD the following folders to 0777 for this import:
forumroot/admincp/games
forumroot/images/arcade
forumroot/games

Well, my admin is not located at "admincp", but "hq". Is this a problem, will this kill things? Secondly, as I mentioned, there is no such folder www.domain.com/forumroot/arcade/.

2. File Path
The location of your uploaded files, in relation to your root forum folder. It should be readable AND writeable by your web server (usually chmod 0777).

So above, I was asked to upload the new games into an imgainary folder forumroot/arcade/games. Now, I am prompted to set the location of my uploaded games, relative to my root forum. Which is correct? Where on earth am I supposed to upload the games to?

3. Importing Games
There are no more games to import.

Same story, no games.

Can anyone help?

Yes, cookie issue. Either increase the timeout period, or encourage users to click "remember me" when logging in.

I told you already... Is it showing your Personal Best score? If so, just beat that and it should start showing High Scores -- I had this problem too.

I currently use the ibProArcade 2.5.5+ and I also use mkportal.
Now, since I upgraded to Mr.Zeropage's new version I am getting errors and he said he will not support mkportal and his arcade.
At this point, I have no where to turn.
Without going through all of your threads on this v3 arcade, I was wondering if v3 arcade does support mkportal, how hard is it to impliment and get games for etc?
Yes, I am considering switching as as you see in this post, I may also refer all mkportal users to your arcade as well if they work nicely.

I removed it and installed this 1 an now all is well....

Just uninstall (reversal of install) IBP and follow the

Thank you for the input. My biggest concern was if I remove the ibProArcade 2.5.5 if I have to remove and tables from my database, etc. to have a clean removal.
Then once I remove it, how hard is it to instal and to get games for?
See, I wrap my portal around my forum and Mr.Zeropage (who created ibProArcade 2.5.5) staates there is no support for his arcade if you use mkportal.
I just do not want to have the same thing if I remove the ibProArcade 2.5.5 and install this one.

theres a setting in the arcade settings in admin cp mate, where u can enable/disable the regular navbar...try that.

v3 Arcade is a fantastic piece of coding, it truly is. It integrates superbly into vBulletin and has a really cool layout. It also has some good mods written by Oblivion Knight. But what it needs most is more games! At the moment there are only 5 legal games for it. So we're all in limbo. Do we get ibproarcade with its stacks of games and cool features but rubbish template system, v3arcade with it's wicked vB integration...or do you get the absolutely awesome GameSiteScript with its 1750 top-quality games, but it's expensive?

My advice...until v3arcade gets some more games, get your cheque book out...

I've thought about the ibpro arcade games, but if you visit www.v3arcade.com, they advise that unless a game becomes available on v3arcade.com, then it should be considered illegal. Maybe the game designers have only given permission for their games to be used on ibpro arcade, I don't know...

And I operate a legit(ish) business which is doing quite well, so i don't want any legal eagles trying to take down my empire! ;)

The challenge system won't work with IPB games.
I can only challenge a user with the installed V3 Arcade games. All games from IPB are not working, eventhough I can play IPB games.

As for the database removal? I aint sure about that i just did a reversal of the install instructions and all went well m8 :)

Thank you for the input. My biggest concern was if I remove the ibProArcade 2.5.5 if I have to remove and tables from my database, etc. to have a clean removal.
Then once I remove it, how hard is it to instal and to get games for?
See, I wrap my portal around my forum and Mr.Zeropage (who created ibProArcade 2.5.5) staates there is no support for his arcade if you use mkportal.
I just do not want to have the same thing if I remove the ibProArcade 2.5.5 and install this one.

Why cant this just have a simple uninstall/install script? This whole thing is full of errors, which is usually normal for sucha big hack but still. Im not trying to be ungreatful or anything but..:( what ever. im sure people are going to quote me and say "then dont use it". soooo have at it :P anyway props to the coder, ive used the hack before, but I cant now, too many errors.

Buy GameSiteScript at www.gamesitescript.com if you want perfection. It really is the best you can get. I have it on one of my sites and it's one of my favourite scripts. There are almost 2000 games available for it.

The drawbacks? It's quite expensive...and no vBulletin integration (which is a real bummer). :(

Post the SQL Error -- that'll help diagnose the problem much quicker. Just view the source code of the page that displays the error; the error is commented out. (In IE = View -> Source)
