nope.. i did everything correct... hmm.. how do i change the postbit into postbit_legacy then??? maybe if i make the userinfo on the left side in my forums, it might work since i made the code changes in both postbit & legacy...

WOW, this thread moves fast.... I made a post on PG 13 and was wondeirng if anyone could answer it for me. I added the arcade to the site and it's not working. But, the error I'm getting isn't what everyone else is getting. I have no clue where to even begin to fix this problem...

2 options.

1. Go into your AdminCP>Vbulletin Options>Style and Language Settings and click Yes on the "Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template"

or

2. Go into your AdminCP>Style and Templates>Style Manager and edit the Postbit>>Postbit template as well as the Postbit>> Postbit_legacy template

Along with the GIFs and the PHP installer (if it's an old v3Arcade game), or the tar file if it's a IBPro game.

SO- in order to install the hack guests need to be able to view the arcade page? that sucks... guests can't get past the front door of my site, and that is the way I want it. I guess I will have to go with the other arcade system since I do not want guests to be able to access my arcade. Too bad- it looked like a good hack.

Only for validation. When you've validated it you can disable guest access again.

You need to allow guests (unregistered users) to be able to see your arcade via the usergroup permission section of the admin cp. That will allow the license on http://www.v3arcade.com/forums/verify.php?do=check to verify that your arcade works

I tried to add new games via the "get games" tab on v3arcade.com. When I did, I got this error at my forum:

While I really like the arcade, you've left your users with such a hard upgrade path.

You could have at least provided a proper upgrade script to get their databases preped for the new installer. or an upgrade script that took care of this all together.

For your product file you should do a check and report back that the database is not yet ready for the install s it contains old data, instead of just running querys all wildly at them. Then we have a failed product import, etc.

Before running the script, please note that it will remove all games, scores, and news from your current v3 installation!

Note: You will need to rename the file from arcadeupdate.txt to arcadeupdate.php before uploading it. Since .php files are not allowed to be uploaded here I had to rename it to be a .txt file. ;)

With iB games, that's correct.

With v3 games, extract everything first and then upload those swf, php and gif files to admincp/games.

Upload the .tar files for the games you want to import into the admincp/games folder. Make sure that you CHMOD the following folders to 0777 for this import:

now after uploading 12 tars chmod everything as above, click import.
get error 404 page, is there a reason its not importing. Easy way is, in your Favorite FTP program (I use Smartftp) right click on the folder, and then you will see the option for Properties/CHMOD

Just type in the box where it prolly says 755

0777

On and make sure the folder your clicking is in the right hand side if using smartftp, or it won't work :)

Easy way is, in your Favorite FTP program (I use Smartftp) right click on the folder, and then you will see the option for Properties/CHMOD

something tells me that you have bad experiences in life..

actually, the 1500 games released and distributed for ibproArcade are legal... about 15 or 20 are illegal due to the non-approval of the owners... and all these games are portable to v3arcade with the importer...

and all the other games released earlier for v3arcade (the old version) are to be re-installed in the server once John have the setup done and all files verified... he focussed on the script lately, will do the same with the games once he is rested...

I highly doubt it. Not being able to contact the author doesn't mean you have permission to use the game.

No offense John, I love the arcade, but maybe a paid beta test and cramming a bunch of stuff in at the last minute weren't the best of ideas.

Sounds like you may be running vBulletin 3.5.0? Upgrade to 3.5.1 if so. There was some incompatibility in the XML that changed between versions.

I found a bit of info on my question but it is pretty old. It's a post from october.

no games will be available on the forums, and once John's new system is live - these games will also be removed and made available only through your Admin CP.
Is this the final policy? No downloading directly and manually installing games hosted at v3arcade.com? I am hesistant to divulge private forum information so I need to know if I should bother registering there.
