Thanks for this mod,
Installed in earlier in the week, QQ on the sitemap.
In Google Webmaster, I added my sitemap and as of today it says it submitted about 30k but only 5k indexed.
Why would there be such a difference?
Any way to fix it?

Google doesn't index all pages/content. With that said and with your numbers (5k indexed versus 30k submitted) it appears Google hadn't been crawling your site very much at all previously. This will now change with regular sitemap submissions.
The first time you submit the sitemap a large part of the number you see indexed will be made up of the number of pages Google indexed prior to your sitemap even being submitted. This number should increase quickly over the next few days and weeks (especially with your difference in pages submitted versus indexed). Just because a page is submitted and crawled does not mean it gets indexed immediately, it will take some time especially for 25,000 pages.

My bounce rate went through the floor immediately after installing this - practically to zero. Combining that with a doubling of pageviews and number of sessions which have remained stagnant, it makes me wonder what this is really helping with. I am wondering if something is wrong or I need to tune it somehow.

Are you using the new Universal Analytics or the older version that is being phased out?
Did you remove any/all Google Analytics code you may have been using prior to installing DBSEO?

I'm using the older version of Google Analytics and I did not remove any old Google Analytics code prior to installing DBSEO.
What do you recommend?

For however long it takes for all your visits to originate from the new SEO URLs, your bounce rate will be lower than normal.

I just removed the old Google Analytics code.
That should fix your pageview count issue. If the older Google Analytics code appears multiple times on the same page it can cause statistic issues including multiple pageview counts on a single pageload. The new Universal Analytics code is not suppose to be susceptible to this, but you should always try to only have the code called once per page.

I see the new versions coming out. How difficult is it to upgrade to these new versions? The reason I ask is that I had real problems with the initial install that the hosting provider tried twice. DragonByte then did it for me and it ran flawlessly, after he tweaked it some. I'm just worried about things getting messed up in a reinstall.

Easy to do just upload all files via the FTP overwriting the old ones, then do the same with the xml. You won't need to change any settings

In your php.ini configuration file.
memory_limit : http://www.php.net/manual/en/ini.core.php#ini.memory-limit
max_execution_time : http://www.php.net/manual/en/info.configuration.php#ini.max-execution-time
...or you could just try changing the "URLs Per Page" setting under Sitemap - General Settings. Default is "30000", you could try "20000" if that doesn't work "10000". This will also reduce memory and time requirements for sitemap building.

I experienced this as well. Best to sign up for the installation service provided by DragonByte as they will make sure it is done right. I actually had improvements in site performance after it was installed.
I have a separate question. What results can we expect from adding this mod and generally how long does it take?
I know that is very much an "it depends" answer, but can anyone provide some perspectives on what results they have gotten from installing it? Does DragonByte also wish to respond?

strange problem when using xcache
I also use DB optimise and use Xcache as opcode
also use Xcache as datastore 'vB_Datastore_XCache'
when DBTech SEO is On,
the xcache.var_size got full after 1 hour only (I have set it 1G)
and the var data have about 500,000 var like this
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=149316&stc=1&d=1401807350
that is my Xcache config
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=149317&stc=1&d=1401807660
when I disable DBSEO, that var not created, and not full my xcache.var_size and every thing is fine
Note: when I disable the DBSEO, and reload php-fpm+nginx then enable DBSEO
working fine for while, (not create that lot of vars), but after some hours its create it again
Note: used APC for 3 days, with apc.shm_size=4G , its got full also without know the reason, thats why I moved to Xcache, and found this strange problem

That is not a problem, that is the modification working as intended :)
This mod will cache every single URL it has rewritten, to significantly reduce the processing time if the same non-SEO'd URL is ever found anywhere else :)

This is called DBSEO; not vbseo. DBSEO as in Dragonbyte Tech Seo. Anyways, you need to make sure you've updated your htaccess to reflect the dbseo rewrite rules, otherwise you'll keep getting those kinds of errors.

I think would be good in this mod for vBulletin 5 because has many users who have the following problem (including me):
- have vBSEO installed in VB 4.x and already have thousands of indexed topics in Google and want to upgrade to VB 5 and not lose their already indexed URLs (as in VB 5 all URLs are changed).
I would buy this mod (VB 5) for $ 300 or more..

I don't know if this is true or not, but it appears that DB SEO messes up with the vBadvanced CMPS when I try to click on the NavBar for forum.php as it loads the cmps_index.php by default. I compared it when I disabled this product and it seems to works when its off. Could this be a minor fault or does the DB SEO need proper adjustment in tae AdminCP?

Thanks, but if you're stating I "may" need the pro version, that doesn't give me confidence to purchase the pro without knowing for sure. I have no problem buying it, as long as you're 100% sure this will correct my issue.
A similar issue, when viewing PM list in my inbox and I choose to delete them (or one at a time) from that view, I get redirected to random pages/threads every time. But, it works fine if I delete the pm from directly within the pm view, individually. Not sure why it's happening, but it's something within this mod since it was never like this prior. I've been running this mod for two and a half months. I hate to say it but the number of unique sessions per day after installing it hasn't gone up. It's gone down. I was at in excess of 6000 sessions per day prior to installing it. Now I am below 5000 pretty consistently. I'm using the standard features including the automated thread tagging. Bounce rate has gone down by about 2% though. Bottom line is from an SEO perspective, I don't seem to be getting benefits yet. Pages per session is generally lower as well.

After Fillip installed it and did some tuning, the site was actually faster, so no I didn't see any negative impacts.
I'm having some issues on the site right now with posting actions seeming to "hang" with the spinning wheel causing users to wait for minutes for things to come back to them, but don't necessarily have evidence that it is related to DBSEO.

If the point of the software is to drive more activity to the forum, it seems to be doing the opposite in my case. I've been committed to sticking with this but am beginning to have some doubts and concerns.

Yes.. I understand it's a nginx config file.. I use 2 nginx conf files for vBulletin and I own a VPS myself ;) thanks. I understand how it works. I "included" a conf file to pinpoint to DBTech's rewrite rules, but its giving errors.. So the rewrite rules that DBTech has shared is invalid.
I still lack some knowledge though, hence I'm unable to fix the location (for now)... Until I learn how to solve it.

Are there some recommended settings that everyone should do?
I just checked out my Bing Webmaster tools, and since enabling this mod my metrics have took a nosedive. Not sure why.
My pages indexed were cut in half, same with pages crawled and my clicks from search is down 72%. Appeared in search is also down 63% since installing this.
Not sure what to do to improve that?
Any ideas?

Helping a forum owner out with this and we are testing it and it looks good so far.
He used vb's advanced friendly urls.
Advanced Friendly URLs:
showthread.php/1234-Thread-Title
Can the lite version do the same thing? Basically notice the .html at the end of urls and would like to remove it if possible, or is this a feature in the Pro version?
Thanks!

Also my Google Webmaster index files are dropping now too. They went up when I first installed this, but now it's back down to maybe lower than it was before I enabled it.
Does anyone have any settings they've enabled in this mod, that have helped their rankings?

So if you use this option: [forum_title]/[thread_id]-[thread_title].html
Make sure that those options match those on similar different settings down the line.

Every time the sitemap is updated, some will say there are errors. It's not always same ones, it's just random.
This is the worse it's been, with 3 saying there are no URLs. Even though there is.
example, it's saying this one is empty

if you mean Mod_Rewrite then yes, all other URLs should resolve and vB should redirect them normally.
I mean that once the rewrites of DBTECH SEO works on the forums, all previous used Friendly URL's by default vBulletin no longer works and are being forwarded to the main forums. Only the new DBTECH SEO URL's works just fine. But I don't want all the previous urls to be lost.

Mod Rewrite Friendly URLs (NGINX), currently not using any SEO systems/plugins.If you need help redirecting vBulletin's friendly URLs to standard URLs, that's something you'd need to ask vBulletin Support. In a .htaccess/Apache environment, adding parts of the vB4 Rewrite Rules above the DBSEO rules enable those old links to work, though I don't know if the same holds true for Nginx.

It's the mod room forum, when you select it, it takes you to modcp. Any ideas on how to fix this. What is the rewritten name of this forum, and what's the name of your modcp directory?

Benefits: quicker page load times, lower server load.
How to enable: First you need to have a caching program installed on your server. Look at installing xCache or APC. Find installation instructions where you download it from. I have had better performance benefits with xCache but it can depend on your server(s) setup. Then to enable it for vBulletin you need to edit config.php in vBulletin to use the installed caching program. Just search enabling XXX for vbulletin and you will find detailed info.

Did you upload the files correctly? You should double check to make sure you uploaded via ftp with binary and not ascii settings, also check to make sure the file sizes match up as you may have some corrupted files. Secondly, double check the directions and make sure you did them all.
If no dice, you can disable the plugin by first disabling hooks and uninstall it that way.

I've been having issues lately being able to edit my widgets in AdminCP. When I click on "Configure" next to one of my widgets, the screen turns black and I get a spinny icon for a few seconds and then it redirects me back to the widget page again.
I opened a support ticket with vBulletin and they claim that it is DBSEO causing the issues. I have already tried disabling DBSEO, removing the rewrite rules in .htaccess, and the issue still remains.
Has anyone else encountered this type of issue? What was your resolution?
This is what vBulletin support sent me;
The issue here is DBSEO.
The widget editor calls widget.php in the root directory. You have to make sure it is accessible. If using an SEO plugin such as DBSEO, it need to be bypassed manually as the DBSEO rewrite rules interfere with this.
DBTech should be able to advise on how to do this.
Apophis
08-26-2014, 07:18 PM
With additional followup with vBulletin, it turns out my issue is not related to DBSEO at all. But since I brought up the issue; I feel it's worthwhile to at least post the resolution.
Incidentally we've done a lot of digging on this as well.
We've discovered that actually, it works in Internet Explorer (we used IE11) but not Firefox or Chrome.
Everything functions correctly but the AJAX gives no response.
Senior techs think it probably has to do with cross-site security and https vs http, which means it probably won't be fixable, but you should be ok in IE.

Go to your dbseo control panel, then go to>URL Rewrites: General Settings
Then scroll down to find>Force Forum Directory Index
If yes, this setting will crop out /forum.php (or whatever other script name you've defined as forum root in vBulletin Options). This is useful if you've already built page rank for /index.php.
Then set that to> No
That should fix your problem

I have purchased the PRO version, with PRO installation, and at the moment some issues but appear to be solved.
Two questions, after your PRO installation:
- What about vbseo? Can I uninstall it? Better leave it disabled? Please tell me what I can do to have my system as light as possible with the new dbseo configuration.
- There are some plugins like vbgallery and media library that are being rewitten. Is dbseo rewrite?, or is vbseo working yet (it is disabled)? I suppose to have both vbseo and dbseo working is a system killer.
- Is there any variable like in vbseo for the url of CMS pages {vb:raw page_url_vbseo}?
I used this variable to facebook share buttons in the CMS home in vbcms article preview template, and now it continue working ???????? Is dbseo using the same variable? Is vbseo active in some way altough it is disabled from admin panel?
Can you please explain here the best way to complete the upgrade from vbseo to dbseo? What to do with vbseo?

Whenever someone reports a visitor message, it's deleting the pagetext from the visitor message.
It has to do with the file visitormessagedata_presave.php in hooks, but I can't figure out what is wrong with it.
I disabled DragonByte SEO and tried posting a visitor message and reporting it, and the pagetext stays. When I enable DragonByte SEO, post a visitor message, and report it, the pagetext gets set to nothing, or blank.
When I disabled the plugin "Fetch Link Titles: Visitor Message", which includes visitormessagedata_presave.php, and I send a new visitor message & report it, the pagetext stays. I'm going to keep "Fetch Link Titles: Visitor Message" disabled until I get some assistance. Thanks!

In the External Links settings, I have selected a few forums to be in the Excluded Forums list, but I can still see the rel="nofollow" in the links posted there. Is it a bug?
The vBulletin's setting for nofollow from BB Code settings page is disabled. I am using only the DBSEO's add nofollow setting for external links.

http://www.gem-flash.com/vb/showthread.php?t=364602 >> get meta desc from post No.9
both of links have duplicated meta descriptions as WMC notice
* they didn't get meta description from first post, and get it from thanks post that make it duplicated
