normally after my name & avatar will have post count and the like & thanks count.
but now they only display the name , not showing the like / thanks count.

how can i do ?

Hi, thanks for plugin.

I'm running an Arabic forum. RTL layout of the plugin was fine, until I upgraded from v2.0.1 to v3.0.0b6. The product icons now appear over the text (that is: thanks like, dislike). It seems like a CSS issue. I attached a screenshot below for reference.

Tested on Chrome and IE8.

We recommend either keeping iso-8859-1 (which works with every conceivable language and system) or switch to utf8 in both places.

1) You can edit templates. It's not simple thing for a beginner, but if you know how to edit templates, you can achieve pretty much anything. :)

2) This is a pro only feature. But yeah, it can be done with pro version.

Doubtful, but this is not a problem anybody else has reported or one I'm able to replicate :(

Try disabling the two Who's Online plugins for this mod, perhaps you're using a 3rd party mod that is conflicting.

This now seems to have started working

I disabled all mods and re-enabled them..........checked the profiles and it is displaying the current activity

Must have been a conflict somewhere that has self resolved

Fix: Typo in the Notifications code would cause notifications to produce a 404
Fix: (Lite) (vB4) The sidebar block was mistakenly flagged as Pro-only in our internal development tools
Change: The mod will now properly close its database connection when returning data

Someone else reported that this can happen if they try to like / thank a post from a user that has been deleted.

Sadly without any common denominators I can't do much :(

I'll put up a change later today that will print out the postid it thinks is invalid, that should help narrow it down :)

Also note that you won't see those buttons for your own posts.

I installed this mod did all the setting as in button setup, forums and groups that should see it. However I could not get it to show the bar as it should at the bottom of the thread. I also noticed that when first installed I could expand and collapse the postbits for this but later I could not even do this. So I am not sure if I did something while trying to get it to work that changed this setting. Ran into a db error after importing vbseo likes and executing any maintenance script:

This was caused because we didn't want two buttons (thanks + likes), so we deleted the like button shortly after installing APTL and prior to running the importer. The problem is easy enough to fix by running a mysql query to reset dbtech_thanks_entry [varname] = thanks. Although you might consider adding a new maintenance script to reset the assigned button for existing thanks/likes for customers that aren't comfortable with manually editing their db. Either that or have a prompt during the import asking which button to assign the Abe/vBSEO imports to. Just FYI

1) Imported likes are not sorted chronologically. I believe the import script is ordering via vbseo's l_contentid field (post#) instead of the l_dateline field.

I doubt much will be done to compensate for that, if I'm honest.

It's not sorting by contentid, no. Besides, the imported Likes absorb the dateline of the vBSEO likes.

Well I was referring to the thanksimport.php portion here:

I am also concerned about security. My site was recently exploited through the Post Thank You plugin by Abe1. A shell script was inserted into the ajax_complete.php.

I'm honestly not fluent enough to ask the right questions here, but have you had any experience with this product being similarly exploited? I'd really love to have a Thanks option again (members of my forum are begging for it) but not if it's going to leave me vulnerable to attack.

There have been no reports of this mod being the source of any exploits.

Keep in mind that a directory being 777 doesn't mean anyone can inject scripts into it from any server - the attacker needs some form of access to your server via other means (either an Admin account with Can Admin Plugins) or another account on the server.

That still doesn't mean anyone else on a shared server can hack your site - there's still open_basedir restrictions which any shared host worth their salt would have enabled.

Post Thank You Hack 7.4 was installed on 3.8.2 and then the forum was upgraded to 4.1.x and running the importer does that but gives no other information.Please post the database error email that got emailed to your "technicalemail" email address as defined in config.php. I cannot assist without this information.

That being said, I believe I originally tested this mod with v7.7 of Abe's Post Thank You Hack. You may wish to try to update that mod to the latest version before attempting an import.

Had an issue with this mod, that I was able to fix on my site, but wanted to bring to your attention. The issue also affected Advanced User Tags. I am running the latest version of both, and vb 4.2.0.

The problem is in the profile tabs. Whenever clicking on any of the pages to view previous mentions/quotes/thanks an error would be received by the browser "Too Many Redirects"

I narrowed the issue down to being the "perpage=20" part of the link. If that part is removed, the error doesn't happen.

I fixed it by editing the php files to remove all instances of "&amp;perpage=$perpage" from the class_profileblock.php file.

I want to report impact of this mod on server resources.

This is mod that uses the most server resources. Showthread page generation time with this mod is about 80-90% longer, even for guests. As users spent most time looking at threads, this almost halves number of users server could serve (keep online).

I tested also with lower number of posts per page (I have 25 posts per page). At 10 posts per page I'm getting about the same page generation time as without this mod.

This is really huge impact on server. The problem is even worse as it impacts guests' page creation time. All my other mods (and I have quite few of them) doesn't compare with this mod.

I'm writing this to ask if there could be some performance tricks, whatever, that would reduce impact of this mod on server.

I also tried to use vBSEO likes system and if someone asks, it's even bigger server hog. :(

I'll keep it installed, but at the moment I'll turn it off, hoping that something could be done. Please, my users like this mod very much, try to work your magic and reduce impact on server, or at least impact on guests. I could use it if it will impact only registered users.

hi for some reason the buttons for thanks,like and dislike have gone from the postbit i think this happened after upgrading from vBSocial Notifications 6.3 to vBSocial Notifications | 7.0 but i`ve since gone back to vBSocial Notifications 6.3 as 7.0 did`nt work right,i`ve tried uninstalling [DBTech] Advanced Post Thanks / Like v3 (vB4) and installing again but the buttons still dont show on the postbit any idea how i can fix this

This hack seems to slow down my site.

I think you should modify the posts table, and stick the ids of the LIKES, DISLIKES, THANKS for users in that posts table json formatted. That way you dont have to do that subselect on every post.

Its been disabled on my site.

I am having the same problem. I can see the Admin piece under options. But the users show statistics on the left, but no way to actually like a post. I searched around a bit and couldn't find any information on fixing this.

Also, you need to enable your userid as Super Administrator in config.php in order to see the DBTech - Thanks sidebar. That, or log on to your SAdmin and grant your normal admin Can Administer Thanks.

Usergroup settings are in the Button Manager, which is hidden until you've done the above :)

Thank you, I know it was my fault. I accidentally deleted something while in FTP but I wasn't sure what the actual problem was or how to fix it.

Thanks for this mode. The latest version is not working well. I mean the arrow where you can click to show how many thanks given or received, likes and dislikes. The previous version was ok, but no idea why I updated!! :(

My issue now is when any member push the likes or thanks button, the arrow freezes until the page is refreshed. Besides, the click doesn't count anyway the same as before, sadly.

any idea how to get around this issue?

BTW my vb4.2 is where I installed it on...

The arrow never worked after someone used Quick Edit to edit their post, or clicked the Thanks button, or used AJAX Quick Reply, ...

It was not created with the intent to support AJAX refreshes, and it cannot be done either sadly.

Thanks for the comments, Fillip. The first versions works without any problems. so one of my forums is still using it, but the new versions on another one. I guess I will leave it like that. Thanks

The mod was working fine in my forum.
Now I click in any of the buttons and nothing happens.
But when I refresh the page I can see that I have given like or thanks.

I haven't made any changes or updates recently
