I have this working with this mod, when a user likes or thanks a post then rep gets added to the posters rep.

So it does work, I can't for the life of me remember how I did it, I think there is just a setting.

I have a problem.
When i put the mouse cursor on the thread title (in the forumdisplay page) it shows the content even if it is hidden.
So user can see the content without thanking even if the author checked the require thank option.

Also there is another issue.
The hidden content can be viewed if you display the page source in the following tags:
<meta name="keywords" content="[hidden content]" />
<meta name="description" content="[hidden content]" />

How can i fix these 2 issues?

ThanksThere is branding on pages powered by this mod, i.e. statistics pages. I'm not sure if any of them exist in the Lite version, however.

I'm sure to do that, you need to edit your config.php file for your website. If you're the owner and you installed the site yourself, then your ID number should be '1' , which is what you need to put into the config file.

Just look very carefully in the config file and you should see where it needs to be added.

I think you should include the a tips and tricks with the zip which should include stuff just like the one mentioned above to customise the mod a little if required :)

Thats bad news. I have not done anything major besides installing the forums and mods. Would reinstalling vB work? I followed the vB manual for installation, not sure how I can break. Or just not use the product?

Alright well thanks for the help. I have decided to try out the 4.1.7 beta 1 because I have not started anything that I cant afford to lose. Looks like this version address bugs for the vB core. So, im going to disable all products/plugins and upgrade and see if the mods will work.

Well here is what I did - tell me where I went wrong or what I missed:

I downloaded and unzipped the file from this site

From the upload folder within I Uploaded as follows:

thanks.php - from the AdminCP folder on my computer to the AdminCP folder in my forum directory

The complete dbtech folder from my computer to my forum directory - CHMOD'd the reference folder within

All .xml files (bitfield,cpnav and hooks) from the includes/xml folder on my computer to the includes/xml folder in my forum directory

Once this is done I Imported the product-dbtech_thanks.xml file from the XML/VB40 folder on my computer - now when I hit the like or thanks button I get nothing

I guess that's the problem, I'm not seeing a Manage Buttons option here, only the "general options". I don't see the DBTech Post Thanks tab on the side either, I can only find options for this mod in Settings / Options.

PS, I've also CHMOD'd my folders to 777 in case that's the next question. I've uploaded and reuploaded everything twice just to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Take everything in Uploads, make a zip file and upload that to your root directory, then in the Do Not Upload folder open Plugins and just install it

This is most commonly the result of CSS settings, namely the background attribute of the .postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a, .eventbit .eventfoot .eventcontrols a { CSS class, in postbit.css.
To fix it, please try the following steps:

Step 1) Remove all the contents of the postbit_control_background StyleVar.
Step 2) If that didn't fix it, please enter the postbit.css file and find the .postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a, .eventbit .eventfoot .eventcontrols a { CSS class, and remove the background: definition.

once the 3 months are up you can use it forever you just wont get any more updates for it support will still be there
you would be best to get the life time one so you can get all the updates

vB4 means it's for vBulletin 4.x only.

As for the not showing up, I really don't know. Maybe you are running a cache system like vB Optimise that's preventing the new block data from appearing?

In either case I do not have any usergroup permissions running or anything else that would hide the content so I don't think there's anything I can do about that :(

Yup; I tested that. I had like 4 people just randomly click thank you just to test out if the feed would pop up; but nothing did. Oh well.

Because of that changing it could be possible to need some changes of the mod aswell. Would I receive those kind of updates after the 3 months period or not ? I think these kind of updates should be included forever... as far as it could appear errors between the mod and the new version of vB.
Upgrades of the mod and other pluses/modifications... should remain for those with active licenses only. But what is about the functionality of the mod should be free.. as far as I bought it sometime in the past.

Thanks.Unfortunately it would be a logistical nightmare for us to maintain vB compatibility with old versions. If such a time arises, you'd be free to revert to using the Lite version or purchase a renewal :)

I don't think the JS change is something we'll rush to do since the vast majority of browsers and users have JS enabled (I assume, as you're the first person in my 8 years of coding that have mentioned it) but if you re-post it as a feature suggestion over at our forum, we'll take it into consideration regardless.

For the future, could you post in the Pro support forum on DBTech? Response times there are much more rapid as I get instant email notif when you start a thread :)

thank you, I posted it in your pro-forum. And yes, I`m used to being the first one mentioning accessibility related stuff. I introduced this topic into the TYPO3 open-source CMS and it took me about 8 years and governmental funding to get things going there ;-). Please just consider that not only disabled users benefit from it. There are also a lot of poor folks behind restricitve firewalls and suffering other technical burdens that keep them from enjoying the fancy stuff.

As Fillip said it would be almost impossible to pull this off - it would require every version of the mod, from v 1.0 to version X.X to be upgraded every time vbulletin updates.

Not doing this is standard practice with all software, including vBulletin mods for pretty much all companies.

Kindly let me know if I had done something wrong in the installation or the mod interferes with something that needs to be fixed...

thanks in advance..I'm unable to confirm this issue. Either from the Quick Reply editor or from the Go Advanced full reply page, clicking the image button still gives an option to upload from computer.
