Dragonbyte, i have a forum with 660.000 posts. It's normal that your addon, to be installed, require one hour or more?
Thanks

Hello,
Can You add importing from this mod: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=165673&highlight=Post+Thank+You+Hack ?

I've just updated this and it erases all my members profiles so it looks like everyone is deleted and all posts were made by guests.
Fortunately no one is deleted and disabling the product puts everything right again.
I'm using vB4.1.1
Same thing happening here and not supercharged, did you manage to find a solution?

Try running /admincp/thanks.php?do=finalise&version=110
If it gives you a database error in the end, ignore it and then run
/admincp/thanks.php?do=finalise&version=111
For some reason this doesn't get ran automatically for some people who install the mod without having Super Admin permissions.

Yes, of course. You have part where you say what buttons you want to use. I disabled Thanks, because it has image of smile, and left Like, because thumbs up image. :)
@DragonByte Tech
Anyway, in free version (offered here) now you can use dislike button too, it's not reflected in first post. Maybe more people would use it and some might buy it afterwards. In first post it's stated that option to use dislike button is reserved for Pro version:
Feature List: Pro
Dislike Posts: Allows users to dislike a post. Great for situations where someone is spamming, posting ridiculous content etc.

I've hacked the original "thanks" add on and installed them to my 4.07 forum in addition to original. They include, for instance a "laughing" button that is pretty popular. Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

Need some help guys. Tried installing this on a backup twice and on both occasions something has went badly wrong and its changed all my users to guests. I'd love to get this hack up and running but there's no chance if this is a possibility on my live board.
Has anyone else reported similar behaviour?
DragonByte Tech
04-03-2011, 06:02 PM
This sometimes happens if you install it on an account that does not have Super Administrator permissions.
Please manually run /admincp/thanks.php?do=finalise&version=110
If you get any errors in the end, ignore them, and manually run /admincp/thanks.php?do=finalise&version=111
Fillip

Fillip
No, the original mod doesn't offer other types of button clicks. As I said, I hacked it to create a couple of others.
If we get the pro version, I may be able to hack the importer so it will work. Basically, all I did was replace, in the original "thanks" mod every instance of "thanks" with "laughing," creating a new add on.
Thanks for the quick reply.
DragonByte Tech
04-03-2011, 06:33 PM
I see, well the importer reads off the thanks table and assumes the column names are thanks, so you should have no problems renaming those things in the importer, then :)

Also, if you've disabled thanks/dislikes how do you get them not to show in the statistics in the collapsable bit underneath a user avatar. I'd only like the "likes" to show but it's currently showing everything.

Will this plan of transition work?

Ok, tried again...
Uploaded the folders to my forum directory and permissions are set properly. I'm running 4.1.2 so I chose the xml file from the vb40 file in the "Import Product" section. Going on four minutes of waiting and it still hasn't installed.
I have your moods and status mod installed and working, and a few other mods installed and working (some I have installed since trying yours, so I know it's not that my installer broke somehow), so I don't get why this one won't install for me. :(
ETA ~ 7 minutes later and I got a blank admin screen. :( If I go to products, it's not there.

Unfortunately I don't think there's anything I can do about this :(

Stupid question, but lines 51 and 52 of 100.php say:
self::$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE `" . TABLE_PREFIX . "thread` ADD ADD `dbtech_thanks_enablelike` ENUM( '0', '1' ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '1'");
self::$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE `" . TABLE_PREFIX . "thread` ADD ADD `dbtech_thanks_enabledislike` ENUM( '0', '1' ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '1'");
Could the double "ADD" be messing it up at all?
DragonByte Tech
04-05-2011, 11:01 PM
I doubt that, SQL woulda thrown an error.
What I might do, for the next version, is release a simplified installer that won't need to alter the table - instead I'll create a new table that'll only be populated by posts that have had their settings altered.
Fillip
I installed the lite version yesterday - it went pretty good, although I should have used Super Admin when I installed it, so had to finish it manually.
Today I bought the pro version and installed it. The install was easy and quick.
The import took a long time - about an hour.
As mentioned in an earlier post, I created hacked duplicates of the old Thanks mod, for instance, one for "Laughing."
I really wanted to hack the importer to import those stats too, but after a half hour of playing with it I decided it wasn't going to work for me, so I just let our forum start over on that one.
Anyway, I really like the pro version - all the numbers will please stats geeks for sure!
Thanks for the nice mod.

Post Thanks/Like tab in the profiles displays hidden threads' names.
Is there a way to fix it?
DragonByte Tech
04-15-2011, 01:38 PM
There is no way to detect whether the person can view the thread but not the contents. It will correctly hide threads for forums the person does not have the password for, cannot access or cannot view threads.
Fillip
Gradonil_Ral
04-16-2011, 07:16 AM
No, I meant that it displays thread names from the hidden forums.
People might not be able to access the threads, but sometimes the names of the threads speak too much already.
DragonByte Tech
04-16-2011, 12:37 PM
The only way that would occur is if the person did not have access to view thread contents as described above.
It's been tested numerous times and as long as the forum is either password protected or their usergroup has "can access forum" set to no, the thread won't show up.

The only explanation I can think of is that some other mod is not properly appending to the postbit hook.
Try setting the execution order for the "Postbit Integration" plugin to 99 and see if that solves it.
Fillip
had a similar problem, installed PHPKD_VBLVB_ULTIMATE linkchecker bot and suddenly no more thanks postbit info, when I disabled the linkchecker bot, postbit re-appeared.
Then read this post, tried to put 99 in the "postbit integration" execution order, enabled the linkchecker bot, and both are working fine now :) thanks for the solution

4. Configure your Usergroup settings by clicking "Manage Buttons" under
"DBTech - Post Thanks" in your AdminCP navigation menu, then
editing each button and setting your usergroup permissions from there.
The only Post Thanks options I have in the Admin CP are these.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=128243&stc=1&d=1303078809
I'm not seeing any "Thanks for the post" or "Like" buttons anywhere in the postbit.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=128244&stc=1&d=1303078809

This can occasionally happen if you install it with an account that is not Super Administrator.
Please manually run /admincp/thanks.php?do=finalise&version=110
If you receive any errors at the end of that script run, ignore them and manually proceed to run /admincp/thanks.php?do=finalise&version=111
Once both those scripts have been ran, it should work as intended :)

I'm installing it right now on my live site (it worked perfectly on test server) but I have one question.
As for my qusestion (actually a request), could you elaborate a little bit more on the step:4. Optional File Edit it is a little vague. What could happen if I don't do it? What happens if I do it?

Whenever I have enabled vBShout v5.4.3 PL2 (Lite), I get the following error when I thank, like or dislike:
Thanks Thank for this post
Invalid response from server:
Warning: require([path]/dbtech/vbshout_pro/hooks/dbtech_thanks_postsave.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/dbtech/thanks/actions/ajax.php(245) : eval()'d code on line 1

I do not have this problem when vBShout is disabled.
Update:
Nevermind, I've remedied this problem. Within the vBulletin AdminCP I deactivated the dbtech_thanks_postsave plugin.
Another Update:
I've installed this mod to my test site for evaluation. This mod is awesome. Soon enough I'll buy the full version. Awesome product!

Hi Fillip,
I seem to be getting this error when "Like this post" is used:
Warning: require([path]/dbtech/vbshout_pro/hooks/dbtech_thanks_postsave.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/dbtech/thanks/actions/ajax.php(245) : eval()'d code on line 1
When the page is refreshed the error disappears and the like is counted.
Any ideas?

Do it as you said there except is not the "upload" folder inside root... it's everything INSIDE the upload folder into your forum root. You should be asked if you want to Merge or Replace the contents depending on which FTP software you are using. Answer yes.

This is most commonly the result of CSS settings, namely the background attribute of the .postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a, .eventbit .eventfoot .eventcontrols a { CSS class, in postbit.css.
To fix it, please try the following steps:
Step 1) Remove all the contents of the postbit_control_background StyleVar.
Step 2) If that didn't fix it, please enter the postbit.css file and find the .postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a, .eventbit .eventfoot .eventcontrols a { CSS class, and remove the background: definition.
Hope that helps :)

Look inside the files you downloaded from vbulletin.com (the ones you upload to your server to make the installation). In those files (already unzipped I guess), look for the folder called legacy. Inside you will find the post.php file.
Just copy that file and paste it somewhere else (i.e. your desktop). Open it and make the changes. Save the file, close it and upload it to your server, but be aware that you will have to upload it into the right filder (same as above: in your www folder, inside legacy).
Cheers!

Just go to vBulletin Options >> Plugins & Products >> Manage Products and then locate the product named "DragonByte Tech: Advanced Post Thanks / Like (Lite". Open the dropdown to its foremost right and select either Disable (in case you decide to give it another shot later on) or Uninstall to completely remove it.

I've followed this:
1. Upload all files from the "upload" folder to your forums directory.
2. CHMOD the following folders to 0777
/dbtech/thanks/vbactivity_type
3. Import the product-dbtech_thanks.xml file from the "XML" folder at AdminCP ->
Plugins & Products -> Manage Products -> Add/Import Product
4. Configure your Usergroup settings by clicking "Manage Buttons" under
"DBTech - Post Thanks" in your AdminCP navigation menu, then
editing each button and setting your usergroup permissions from there.
however there is no where that i can see in my admin cp that i can amend the permissions (see red). That has left the mod visibile on my forum but i cannot select anything

Hi dragon byte I have one more question, which file do I need to remove the dislike bits from showing on the drop down on posts. See image.
I don't use the dislike buttons and have them unticked in ACP.

No, because you can create and manage your buttons from the Button Manager, which means the template can't have the buttons hardcoded :)

Ah ok, can I make a request then please for any future versions :).
If the button isn't selected that it doesnt show on the post/thanks drop down on a users post. The dislike button isn't selected so doesn't show where the buttons are which makes sense, so it would make sense if it didn't show where I have highlighted on a previous image :)
I do love tg mod though and users seem to like it so a+ from me otherwise.

I feel like I've done something really silly. I basically installed it. I see the postbit part with no problem but the interface underneath the forum posts to like or thank doesn't appear. In addition, when I go to the forum manager, it only shows the top level forums. It doesn't show any of the sub forums.
Am I missing something?

Also, keep in mind you will not see the controls to thank / like / dislike for your own posts.

What is the difference between the "Can Click" and the "Can Require Click" columns?
"Can Click" seems clear but what about the "Can Require Click"?

When you post a new post in the advanced editor, checking "require thanks to see contents" enables the use of a HIDE bbcode to hide the contents until the thanks button is clicked.

Hi, I'm definitely interested in the pro version, but I was wondering how easy this would be to integrate with other mods, such as vBa Dynamics, that need to be installed in a folder under my main forum, (e.g. mydomain.com/forum/folder). I tried editing the vBa show post template with {vb:raw thanks_postbit} but nothing showed up.

Well your web server seems to disagree that the files are in their correct location, and without those files there's no way to install the mod (and even if there was, it would not work correctly after install).

No, it's because your web server does not recognise any APTL files being present in the forum folder. I'm not familiar with every web server configuration so I'm not able to tell you why this happens :(

Pretty good but a bit heavyweight.
I'd quite like to have the "Like" button as just another button, alongside edit etc, rather than having an entire section below the postbit. Attempts to do that aren't looking good so far :(

You can just have the Like button turned on, and you can (at least in Pro, not sure about Lite) set it to sit alongside the Edit/Reply buttons.

Actually this doesn't work for me too. I wrote on dragonbyte site, they didn't find solution (they say there's no people who have problems beside myself). You also need to set it in AdminCP for button for usergroup that they could require click to made hide BBcode to work.
And no, hide don't need to be upper case.

I've got this working fine in 4.1.3 but two questions.
How do I get rif of "require dislike to see content" in additional post options?
Can I use this to hide only a limited part of a post eg so that the viewer can see preview pictures of a file to download but can't see the links to download the whole file without clicking thanks?

Thanks, I've experimented unsuccesfully with hide tags so far. Should I be specifically be adding a hide tag in the BB code control panel? Can I then hide other BB code within the tags so far example (using "{" to replicate "[" here)

No, it doesn't. I could make whole post hidden, that works. But when I try to use hide BBcode, it doesn't work. On DragonByte's website I see difference how hide BBcode is shown in posts, there it works, but on my site doesn't. There's something different, maybe how PHP was compiled.

Hey Fillip (;
Nice Mod, I use it roundabout a year, but now I have some questions:
1. Is it possible to edit the postbit template like in older versions of the mod? I wanna insert a table...
2. Where do I find the "Thanks (Given)", "Likes (Given)" ... phrases? I checked everything, but I haven't found anything to edit that :/
For better understanding there are two screenshots to explain what I mean:
Older Version:

Latest Version:

I have a problem, hidden content that requires you to thank need to be re-thanked (unthanking then thanking again) to view posts that were edited.
So for example when member A makes a post with hidden content, member B will thank them to see what they posted. But when member A edits the post, member B must unthank and thank again in order to view the content again.
Is there a way to fix this? thanks

Hey Fillip (;
