Well, this is disappointing. Crave Online completely nerfed any compatibility with their embed code and AME.

Dailymotion will be okay, except your older videos from a year or so ago will show up blank. They changed they're URL structure a bit.

Does anyone think it will be worth it to post something in the other section of the forum for paid mods to have someone work out a definition for flv files for AME? I'm willing to even put it up for free afterward, I really need this feature.

Nobody managed to fix blip.tv definitions?

You could try it. I haven't looked into it yet because I'm trying to correct the main set of definitions first, but from what I've looked at, as I understand it, it will require the use of your own video player, like the JW.

I don't have vB4 and probably wont for a while. I'll still convert my existing set, but I'm waiting on The Geek to let me know how to do that, and I'm thinking he want's to track down this error some people have been getting with AME 3, before we get into adding hundreds more variables to the equation.
No fix for Blip.tv yet?
Yes, I'll have a fix most likely in the next update.

Should have a correction to the Flickr Sideshows problem in the next update. However, FlowTrack is not cooperating and is not looking good.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. Flowrestling and FlowTrack are back on, er, track. There will just be an issue with older videos from Flowrestling not having any content and YouTube imported videos will not embed.

That's what AME does, yes. This is not AME, though. These are the definitions for AME.

Hi,
Its been a long time since I checked this thread out but I know DJ still does a great job updating the definitions. So I was planning on upgrading all my definitions to the latest version. I can see though that it still say "Last Update: 10 Mar 2009" at the top. How do I get hold of all updated definitions? Installed the master xml 6 month ago. Do you have an updated master xml so I can just wipe all definitions I have and reimport a new xml will all definitions?

The Master XML gave off an error during import with the last 2.5 version of AME., so I'm having to go through each one, one and a time, and update them. With over 200 defs, it's going to take me a little while longer.

Is there any chance for gametrailers to work again ? I have hundreds of users trying to "kill" me because it's not working anymore :D
P.S. Also, YouTube videos don't have the FullScreen button anymore... Is there a way to fix that ? I see inside the definitions it still has the "" but it doesn't work...

I just updated GameTrailers yesterday. Will release as part of a larger update this week, possibly. I'm only to the H's in the list so far, but I will likely find a stopping point somewhere and do a partial release, as well as skipping a few letters to take a look at YouTube, too.

Usually the {rss:link} variable is the direct link to the video page. In most cases wrapping it in AME BBCode takes care of the embedding for you.
{rss:link}

Okay guys, Leet Tube.com was changed to GotGame.com somewhere along the line. GotGame will not be able to be supported, as the embed code is unworkable. If they want to have 10,000 characters in they're embed code, that's they're business. But I can't reference what isn't in the HTML in whole or even in part. And I'll only hunt for it for so long.

Great Mod, just installed and it looks like it's saved me a LOT of time making custom BBcodes(which was driving me crazy) but I'm still scratching my head try to get docstoc working.
Wondering if anyone can make a xml for http://www.docstoc.com ? This site allows users to upload and host pdf, pss, and a few other Documents type files... I've been trying to make some custom BBcode to get it done but I'm not having much success using variables.
Thanks for all the great work and support that has already taken place here,
Tom

I don't think that AME would have anything to do with that, being that AME isn't parsed in the ACP preview. That sounds like an error with the feed itself.
I'm not available at the moment, as I'm trying to complete checking the Master XML for errors. A boat load have needed rewriting and I'm only halfway through so far.

I'm trying to get the pdf For Local to work, but not having much luck...
When I use the default xml for Local (after making the Change in it for my Domain) I get a little blue box that shows the xml Header with the Bla bla bla tags surrounding it and the header links to the file I'm trying to embed...
The site that the Original xml points to ,(http://pdfmenot.com) Wont resolve for me , I dont know if they shut down or what, SO i Tried adapting it to use Google docs... Here's what I've got for Settings... ( 1 thing I noticed when I compared this expression to the other locals, were in the others there are NO [] around the http://, I've tried it both ways and no difference)
Regular Expression
([http://]*[\w]*[\.]*united4freedom\.[\w/&;%-\.]+\.pdf)
Replacement

It does put the Container on the site and hyper links the container header to the File, but gives me an error saying "Sorry we are unable to retrieve the document for Viewing, Please try again later" I've checked permissions on the folder holding the docs and even changed it to 777, still no doc...
Any help would be appreciated...

In my opinion, you don't need to put http:// in brackets with a star (which makes it optional), as it's not likely that someone will paste and address from somewhere without them for most sites. That might be different if you're typing the URL in manually, so it's up to you.
I'd have to look at how Google Docs handles the document to know what's wrong. Your RegEx is working if it's converting. It's the embed code that's not working. Make sure the output is what you want, because currently you have the embed code putting the whole URL: http://www.docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://www.united4freedom.com/documentname.pdf.
Currently the one I've got just embeds the PDF, which might not be the best solution for large documents.

Already got a new one that will fix that. I'm almost ready to post my update.

Thanks DJ for the responce...
I finally got it to work and made an xml file that will let ya post a .pdf from any site, including locally.
Regular Expression
([http://]*[\w]*[\.]*[\w]\.[\w/&;%-\.]+\.pdf)
Replacement

One down, now if I can get one for DocStoc I'll be doing Great, I can do them with BBcode, but they pass 2 varibles so I have to use the "Option" in BBCode.
(ex. Document ID) I dont know how to code that in AME definitions.
Thanks Again DJ and Please check my xml and make sure it's up to standards, and as it should be.
LOL what a way to spend New years Eve, troubleshooting embedding code...Go Figure....LOL

well go figure is right, this stuff worked great last night, but today it shows the container, it even shows the correct # of pages, and will let ya scroll through the pages, but shows no content and an X in the pages now... Man this stuff is wearing me out... I think its something with google docs , as the html Web page I made for testing the replacement (without variables ) last night doesn't work now either...
I have been able to get it to work using the standard Embed tag, but I dont know if that is gonna be Browser compatable with Firefox...
Replacement Code:

**UPDATES**
New Master XML and ZIP file available. This is a completely reworked set of each definition and I recommend nurfing what you got in favor of this. NOTE: Local Hosted are not part of the Master XML, so don't delete any of your Local Hosted defs if you don't need to. I did not include **Internal Linking in this Master or the ZIP, so don't delete those if you want to keep them. Also be sure not to delete any definitions you haven't made a backup of that wouldn't be in this set, like a custom definition or a site that isn't part of this list yet. The fist post list has been updated with what's in there.
This should correct the import problem people were having with the Master XML. Trimmed a lot of fat out of the set that wasn't needed anymore or that was no longer workable. Lost some site support, expanded many others and even added a few along the way. Also, some special definitions that handled things other than media got some new polish. With that said, I tried my best to make sure that older links would remain embeded, but not at the cost of not having a current working definition. So in some cases old posts will just be out of luck Let's get the bad news out of the way first.
Dropped Sites
Sites that either went offline, or that could no longer be worked out in any way.
Bebo
BrightCove
Carpix
ClipsShareDemo
EmbedGames
FileFront
Imeem
i-CAUGHT
Jumpcut
KillSomeTime
Leet Clips
Lively
PC Planets (Their YouTube and Meta Cafe imports still work, though)
Photography Mentor
PHPmotion
Putfile
ShadowSpear
Sharkle
US Soccer
ZippyVideo
Updated Definitions
Er, all of them! I can't even remember how many sites I was able to expand, but a by memory list would include adding live video support for Ustream, fixing MTV so it actually plays videos, adding some funky URLs to definitions that were lacking them, called Yatahonga on their phony embed code and made it work the way it's supposed to and just a host things I can't quite remember.
New Definitions
Couldn't resist the urge to add a few new ones along the way, especially since people have been bugging me for some of these for a while now.
Facebook (Videos)
Google Maps
JustinTV (Live & Clips)
Tangle
Nollywood
DisneyTube
Media Matters
Badges
The old zSHARE definition is nerfed. I never really liked it anyway. I came up with a new way of auto formating the link into what I like to call badges. (And if you say you don't need any stinking badges, I will shoot you.) So you'll need to add the following images for badges to work. Since coming up with this, this is the template for a few more upload sites I added to the definitions, as well as any future file sharing websites that might be added. They go in the images/misc/ folder of all skins you currently use and/or the default style.

HD Support
I've been thinking about this for a while now, and support for HD videos has just become too much of a hassle to make work properly in most cases, making me spend weeks on a definition, when I could have just spent a day or two. Often not getting the results I wanted anyway. Aside from that, what am I breaking my neck for, when almost everyone of those sites provides an HD button as well as the ability to go full screen? Add to that, how fair is forcing HD on users with slow connections or who didn't expect to load an HD video (or ten) when they clicked on a link? It's just not worth the hassle with the end result not being very practical to begin with, so I'm dropping HD support for definitions, other than when it's provided in the video screen itself.

As long as you take into account what I said in my last post, then yes.
Does AME need much ressources?
And does it need more ressources if I have installed a lot of definitions? Or doesn?t it matter?
As The Geek puts it, he designed AME to have a "minimal footprint". The more definitions, yes, the more time it may take, but not, as I understand it, more resources. It's certainly lighter than BBCode.
The Youtube definition causes xhtml issues:
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.2-wheel-planet.de%2Fa%2F59-video-thread-6.html%23post14454&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.654
Is it possible that Amazon (Links).xml doesn?t include the reflink? And doesn?t include the picture? images/misc/amazon_icon.gif ?!?
That's because the YouTube embed code is not XHTML valid. Many aren't. There are steps you can take to validating it, but I don't recall where I found it, other than I remember I Googled it.
I don't know what you mean by reflink. Do you mean the affiliate ID? Of course, you'd need to add yours in. Mine doesn't work anymore anyway, as they dropped all their NC users. The image should have been there with your first installation of AME itself.

I can't reproduce this bug with either video, however, I used to see this on older versions of AME when starting a new thread. Generally re-editing the post takes care of that. Of course, just don't re-edit the post with the current content, because it will just recreate it. You'll need to try pasting in the URL to the video fresh. Don't copy the URL in the post again, because it's mangled. Get the URL from where you got it the first time and resave.

Without being able to see the original thread where you have this posted, I can only guess here, but it looks like you have some kind of redirect link setup on your forum, so it's changing the URL your redirect. Also, you still didn't tell me what "reflink" means. Are you referring to your Affiliate ID? I haven't updated the definition to accommodate the new Affiliate ID just yet.
Also, your Amazon image came with AME by default. Unless you deleted it for some reason, just download it again from the original AME 2.5 thread or grab it from the original ZIP file.

Flickr photostreams and sets don't work for me, only a black window is shown
I've updated to the latest definitions. My board runs on vBulletin 3.7.4 PL1.
For those encountering the same Flickr definition problem, note that the two Slideshow definitions for Flickr convert the Slideshows URLs, just as the description suggests. Not pages that happen to have the word "Photostream" on them. It's an unavoidable coincidence that a lot of Flickr's URLs look the same and the def tries to convert them, too, but since those defs rely on Extraction Data, the data isn't there. The Slideshow defs are for just that: Slideshows. Not pages that have pictures on them, but pages that have Slideshows on them. If you try to use anything else, it wont work.

I completely deleted the URL then saved my edit. I went back in and then re-added the URL with the same results. I tried it on a few videos.

Guys and Gals, I really think this needs to be mentioned, again.
"It's not working" and your vB version number is just not enough for, or even relevant to, fixing the problem. I only need two things in most cases. The links to the post where it's not working and the links to the media your trying to embed. If I need more than that I'll be sure to ask you for it, but at it's basest, that's what I need to start troubleshooting.
Also, unless there's some really good reason you don't want people visiting your website, please don't send them to me via Private Message or email. That doesn't help anyone who is experiencing a similar problem, and just clutters up my Inbox with stuff I could have answered just as easily here.

Thx Digital Jedi for the great work. Unfortunatelly, for me too the Gametrailers code started to show garbage info after the update. Both Gametrailers and Gametrailers are now showing that strange code arround the embedded video.
For example: http://www.consolegames.ro/forum/f8-videos/3832-dark-void-videos/index2.html . You can see there both the new and the old code showing strange things arround the video area.
Please let us know how to fix this. Thank you !

It won't, since that link is pulled from the template, and not the definition. You can get around that by turning the container off, and wrapping the embed code with your own container HTML with the ID, or just a simple container with no title. I can post an example a little later tomorrow.

You got my needs to work with WeGame and some others.
Just for confirmation purposes with regard to WMV Local Hosted. I see on your site that it also Auto Starts. I've seen the code on my install and it is set to FALSE. However, your FAQ seems to address this from Post #2 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1662802&postcount=2).
Some of the videos start to play automatically, can I change it so that it doesn't auto start? Answer: In short, no. Some media sites don't provide the option, nor can it be worked into the embed code. However, all the definitions that do this are marked in their description with the phrase: (Auto Plays).
Therefore, I cannot make this respect my own created WMV video, correct?
Additional question on this as I'm not very knowledgable, but you can set the height and width of the embed window, however it should match the size you've created the media for consistency, correct? Meaning if I make a large one in widescreen, 848x???, then I should use the dimensions for the definition?
Thanks in advance. Lastly, your site of examples is just fantastic.

That particular entry in the FAQ is referring to the standard definitions, and not Local Hosted. I haven't updated Local Hosted just yet, but there's an error in the code I was using. It depends on what browser your using that the autoplay isn't disabled. Go into your definition and change the second, not the first, instance of autoplay="false" to autostart="0" and that should take care of the issue.
As for the height and width, they have to be fixed. I'm not sure if you have the most current version of it, but the height and width will be either what's in the definition or whatever you have set globally in the AME Settings height and width settings. You can't just have them resize to whatever the video parameters are. AME just doesn't know what those are going to be.
Did something like this:
Regexp
(http://([\w-]+\.)+[\w-]+(/[\w- ./]*)+\.(?:gif|jpg|jpeg|png|bmp|GIF|JPEG|JPG|PNG|BMP| Gif|Jpg|Jpeg|Png|Bmp))

I've been asked to do something like this before, but I was always a little reluctant as to how it would interact with the average posts on the forum. Let me know how it works out.
I would probably go with something like this for the RegEx:
http://[w.]*[\w&;\.-]+\.[gifjpebmpn]+
Then just use $ameinfo for the image source. Of course, either way, your going to have account for URLs that have characters like % or @ and add those characters in as you go. That stuff drives me crazy.

No reason why it shouldn't be. I tested the URL and got it to parse. Let me take a look at the post(s) in question.
DJ, do we use the embed code or the URL of the playlist for the playlist.com postings?
Do we have to do anything special with sharing the playlist on the site?
Edited: Found the URL to share on playlist and it worked.
Demo: http://www.legendaryrockers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=20&postcount=6
How do you edit the color of the 'background' behind the actual player?
Playlist was a work around, as their provided embed code is fine. But the id numbers I need are not accessible in the URL or the HTML of the page. So I had to fake it. It's just their pop out player inside of an iframe. So there's nothing you can do to changed the background, as it's their site producing it.
DJ, I thought maybe my issue was that I was not running the latest vb so I updated.
I still have the issue with gametrailers. Here is the code that AME puts in to a post:

The embed code they offer:

And i got one question, i tried to make a definition to play DivShare music and i made it but it plays everywhere but not in FireFox.
So this is what i used
Regular expression

Your missing the portion for embeds in FireFox. The embed provoded by DivShare

OK, thanks,
now one more question, if i can ask.
I wanted to create and add a local tube site's definition, but i don't know how.
It uses JW player 4.3.132
The example URL:
http://tv.delfi.lt/video/aAEt8cWJ/
The embed code they offer:

Do you have any idea what Regular expression URL code should i use and what Replacement HTML to put for it to work?
Thanks a lot in advance

so now about divshare. there is one thing - the links for video and audio are the same, so i think it might have a reason to made both and that forum rulers would be able to choose which one to use. for example, i dont need video from divshare, but definetly needed audio.
Anyway, examples
Video:

and there are also playlists (if there are only mp3s in folder, divshare gives you a playlist). I think, they might be usefull too:

Delta is just a name I picked at random, as I mentioned in the description. The last one was called Third Time's the Charm, because the authors of the last two threads didn't have the time to maintain theirs. Delta is the Fourth letter in the Greek Alphabet. As in 4, get it? It's just me being humorous and it's been called that since I started the thread.
(As far as I know, there's no such thing as a Delta version of anything.) So, as they say, chill.

**Friday Night Updates**
Yes, I realize it's technically Saturday. Technically, I don't care. Okay, I care, I just really thought there were a lot more days left in the week, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with Clipfish until tonight. Silly me. This is my first attempt at making Friday night a tradition.
New Definitions
FanDome
I Am Bored (Videos)
Social Paintball
Today's BIG Thing
I also keep forgetting to mention, in the last big update, I added a new definition called Wikipedia (Thumbnails). Now that's an actual BETA (not a Delta, whatever that means) as it will only really work for articles that have pictures. I'm still not entirely sold on the look of it, but Wikipedia (Links) is still in there and turned off if you want to switch over. You can see what I mean by looking at the demo thread: http://www.cogonline.net/forums/showthread.php?t=52624
I'm still tweaking it though, so you may see changes depending on when you click on this thread.

It will only work for English Wiki right now, as the other languages format their image HTML differently, and I can't match them the same way. In the future I can look into adding additional languages, if there's a discernible pattern in the HTML pages. The English one was pretty rough to make work, and it doesn't really work in all cases.

I can give it a try. One of the reasons I went this route is because eBay has such small thumbnails and the old box just made them look tinier. But it might work with Amazon, too.

There's no reason why they should be doing that, unless you have some kind of URL rewrite mod interfering.

Reimport the Google (Search Results) definition and look for this in the RegEx code:

Add a decimal.

Note that the Special Characters might not convert properly. I think someone posted a fix in one of the last pages of the AME 2.5 thread for that.

I was having a problem where if somebody added a link to Wikipedia and then tried to preview their post, Vbulletin 3.8 returns a parse error. I did a search at Vbulletin.com about the error and found a post where it was caused by this mod and the problem went away when the Wikipedia thumbnail option was de-selected in this mod. I did that and it did correct the problem. Is there a fix for this?
Example: If you enter the link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_Venture
and then hit preview, you get the parse error.

I've been testing something that I think I've got working on my installation. More testing is required to be sure. Check this thread: http://www.cogonline.net/forums/showthread.php?t=51831
Those are all YouTube videos posted using their regular YouTube link. I finally took the time to look at this JW Player (http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/) and see what it could do. This definition is using the Bekle skin.
110047 110048
I wanted to gauge interest in seeing a handful of definitions incorporate this. Likely, I'll only be able to do YouTube and a few Local Hosted definitions. The purpose of this is so you have have your own player for your site and you can download your own skin or create your own (if you know anything about designing Flash Players). Theoretically, I should be able to do this for most flash videos, but I still have some research to do. There's a Silverlight Player that will let you play WMV, which I'm hoping I can get the WMV definition to handle.
As I mentioned when I first posted it, Wikipedia (Links) is a Beta and not working with all Wikipedia URLs. It will not work with entries that have no picture. Though I don't know why it would be giving you errors like that unless you had another mod conflict. But I did include Wikipedia (Links) in the definition, so if it's being a problem, you can switch to the other one.

I'm not entirely sure I'm going to keep the def, unless I can find a way to use the validation RegEx. Right now it would work, but it displays the little film icon, which doesn't quite make much sense for Wikipedia. Maybe I can cajole The Geek to make a minor update to the icon in 3.8, even though he's moved on to AME 3.

But like I said, I still have to peck around this thing to see it's capable of within the AME modification.

I thought about using that one for the demo. I'm so glad you decided not to go with Control Panel. DisneyTube uses that, and it drives me crazy.
Check to see that you have Extraction turned on both Globally and in the definition. It's required for Jokeroo to work. But note that this particular video you've posted has embedding disabled. But it should still be turning into a titled link.

There already are three Justin.TV definitions. Two for Live Broadcasts and one for Clips. Although, I had no idea there were foriegn language versions of Justin.TV when I made them, but you can easily modify the defs to accomodate them without waiting for me to do an update. Simply open the definitions and change the www in the Regular Expression to [\w]+. That should allow multilingual embedding.

One supports they're new linking structure and the other supports the old links that had .html at the end. Technically, all I did was rename the old definition to Game Trailers (Old), so nothing should have really changed there.
I tested a URL on your site just now that is converting fine on my board, so only thing I can try now if for you to give me a temp admin account and I can try to troubleshoot on the backend.

Thanks for your help..
By the way is there any way to fix the RSS feed issue.?
RSS feed posts it like this - http://www.gametrailers.com/player/60953.html?r=1
But we have to manually go in & delete the end - "?r=1"
Any thoughts on how to get them posted correctly so we dont have to edit them.?

I've seen that there are several Amazon videos available for some Amazon link items s well -- is there a way we can embed those videos too, or will that cause a conflict with the other Amazon link definitions?
The share links for videos go to an Amazon permalink, so I'm not sure if there's a way to make a definition for it.
edit: Ah, I did find this link about embedding Amazon videos: http://www.thepcguild.com/2009/12/fixes/embed-amazon-videos/
I will request it through the proper channel...

It would conflict with any other Amazon definition you'd have active. It comes down to the fact that there are no unique qualities to a URL with a video on it to differentiate it from any other Amazon product URL. So even if you decided to just have a definition that converted Amazon videos, it would still try to convert all the other pages into videos, too.

Hi DJ,
You answered my question about embedding MP3 attachments in Geeks thread and I thought I would follow up here. Even though I am using fb 4.0 my goal is to have an attached MP3 file play inline. What I have done is taken some of what you had written and worked created a new definition that looks like this:

<AME3>
<def>
<providerid>6</providerid>
<tagoption>MP3</tagoption>
<provider>MP3</provider>

<regex_url>([http://]*[\w]*[\.]*mysitename\.[\w/&;%-\.]+\.mp3?2?)</regex_url>
<regex_scrape />

<priority>0</priority>
</def>
</AME3>
However, I still can't seem to get it to play the attached file inline, it's just ignored as if it doesn't exist and I have also rebuilt my posts. I noticed you said in your statement when you released these that it's not the intent but I'm wondering if there is a way to get this to work with strictly .mp3 files.

Though I don't have AME 3 installed, fundamentally, it's the same process. The reason AME doesn't normally work with attachments is because attachment URLs are all the same. http://www.yoursite.com/attachment.php and some id numbers. Nothing else to tell the definition whether it's an MP3 or a PDF or a JPG file. Whatever the replacement HTML is, that's what AME is going to use every time. Not very practical when your user has posted a PDF, and AME tries to play it in an MP3 player.
If this has changed in vB4, and you have some way to distinguish file types (simply having the extension .MP3 in the URL would be enough, really) then you could get it to work. Only $p1 isn't used in AME 3. Double check one of the definitions, but I believe it's something like {vb:raw:something}. It just slips my mind at the moment.

Everything posted in the title is just duplicated from the title of the original video page. So without being able to edit the website itself, there's no way to change that.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the confirmation! It might be still be useful if we can use those videos as an all-or-nothing situation, if we don't need the other links/books embedded.
Maybe an option in the future?

AME parses URLs, not BBCode. I'm afraid you'd need a completely different application for that. AME won't parse terms or addresses, or other BBCodes.

Hm, the internal links seem not to work for me. I had AME installed before and everything works fine. But after a big downtime of my board and an old backup, ame was not included. So I've installed it again, but no internal links definitons were included in both xml files. So I downloaded DJ's AMEs (Delta).zip and added them manually. But the internal links seem not to change. Are there any known issues?

THE Podblanc? You know, I wondered if anyone would request that site one day. Honestly, I can't say I'm comfortable even visiting the website, much less having to view content to the degree I have to, to make sure all possible URLs convert they way they need to. I know that I've done plenty of websites with subject matter I didn't necessarily agree with before, and I know that not everyone would use it for the same purposes. I just think developing for Podblanc would be little over the line for me. Sorry, I don't usually turn down requests. I just can't see me working on this site for any length of time. Thanks.

First off, please let me say that it's not necessary to send me PMs to check posts in my OWN thread. I check my own threads for new posts the as soon as I have the time for it.
As far as your problem is concerned, I don't see any changes at YouTube. I'm looking at it right now and they all seem the same. I clicked on the link with the pound symbol (#) that you posted, and they redirect to regular YouTube links.
If for some reason your users are getting links with the # symbol, then it's possible it's the Language or Location that your users are using. What Language and Location are you browsing YouTube in? I'm specifically referring to the settings at the very bottom of each YouTube page.
As far as the title's go, this is not a problem with AME. This has to do with the fact that the page is a redirect page. AME will only read target page, not the page it's redirecting you to, so all you're going to get is the website's title. There is no workaround for this.
YAHOME

Sorry for any disturbance i cause to you for my pm ... my users complain strongly for many days about that ...
Its obvious now that youtube change the way that users browsing from other countries like Arabic country
because its not redirect them to regular YouTube links ... all links now become with # symbol
Seems to be a problem with me my dear ... i forced to change the youtube code like i said before for that reason and it work fine for them now
but the my users from other English countries ?
Can you make change for my to make the youtube code read the link with (? - #) symbols to work with all ?
and regarding to the video title its supposed now when i change the code and become read video from youtube ... its supposed now to work and read video title now only give me YouTube - Broadcast Yourself without any video embed title... why cant get video title now ?

Okay now to solve this paradox i make two definition for youtube links
first one Unique Key called youtube1 that's i use in regular expression (#) symbol like this
[http://[\w]+\.youtube\.[\w]+/watch\#v=([\w-]+)[\w&;=-]*[\#t=]*([\d]*)[&;10shdq=]*
and the second one Unique Key called youtube that's i use in regular expression (?) symbol like this
[http://[\w]+\.youtube\.[\w]+/watch\?v=([\w-]+)[\w&;=-]*[\#t=]*([\d]*)[&;10shdq=]*
so that AME can now read from two different method at youtube links
but only one problem find that first one give me YouTube - Broadcast Yourself without any video embed title
the second looks great :)
Digital Jedi
02-18-2010, 03:26 AM
Yes, that will work. However, you will not be able to get the video title with the # symbol. That URL is a redirect as far as AME is concerned, so it will only get the title of the redirect page.
You can have one definition to parse both URLs, if you want. Just change this to the Regular Expression:
http://[\w]+\.youtube\.[\w]+/watch\??\#?v=([\w-]+)[\w&;=-]*[\#t=]*([\d]*)[&;10shdq=]*

Digital Jedi, i think i found out why Gametrailers is showing so much gibberish code arround the player area. There seems to be some kind of conflict between Game Trailers definition and Game Trailers (old) definition. If both of them are active and i try to insert a new link, i get the gibberish. If i disable the old definition and try again, everything looks ok. The problem is i can't disable the old one, as i will lose a few hundreds, maybe thousands of threads with video links. Is there a way to fix this ?

I don't remember if I took a look at your forum or not, since I've looked at some many in the last couple of months. But I don't recall what the exact problem you were having was. Game Trailers (Old) shouldn't have any effect on the other definition, unless for some reason, the old URLs are sneaking in there somehow. It's a very odd behavior, that I have been in no way able to duplicate. There's no logical reason why the two def should be conflicting, because the removal of the word player changes everything in the RegEx and it won't even parse. Could you verify for me that your running AME 2.5.6?

You must be putting the file location in incorrectly. I named my files with spaces, so an upload from the server would probably want some characters in places of those spaces in the file name. Why not just try something simple. Upload it to the default location in the AME CP: ./includes/xml/ame.xml and rename it ame.xml and just Import it from there.

I've searched through all the definition discussion as well as the AME threads and have found only a couple of mentions of the following issue.
Using AME 2.5.6 and DJ's AME Definitions (Delta) I can create a post that contains an internal link to a member profile like the following:
This is a link (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=113787) to a member profile
When I do this, however, the word "link" is removed. I've also seen some similar issues with linking to threads except that it replaces the link with the name of the site.
I know a few people had these issues but no resolution was ever posted. Given this is there a different set of internal links definitions I should be using or is there a way to turn off internal linking from AME processing. I did try turning on the internal definitions but it didn't make any type of difference in the behavior mentioned above even when posting a new reply with this same post content.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

The Internal Linking set of defs is outdated and needs redoing, which is why I didn't include any in the last update. So far, some of the internal linking isn't working out any longer, but Member Profiles will probably be fixable.

Probably because they're cached. I'm not certain. You can try disabling the cache prior to deleting the definition and see if they go that way, then re-enable it later, or you can manually edit the posts in question.

Hi Digital Jedi,
There are some goear.com that aren't being automatically inserted i.e. http://www.goear.com/listen/8388331/radio-hit,-lima---peru-marco-antonio-vasquez
Please take a look.
Thank you,

Really i`m embarrassed from you man ... some members in my forum report that youtube links show with them like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=Riauw5UTnW8
with this two symbol #!
so if you please dear Jedi merge this three methods for youtube embed in one definition ?
1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Riauw5UTnW8 ?
2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch#v=Riauw5UTnW8 #
3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=Riauw5UTnW8 #!
Thank you ... with my best wishes .
Yes, I'll have something for you a little bit later. But you can still fix it with this RegEx. That's really the only change it will need:
ttp://[\w.]+youtube\.[\w]+/watch[\?\#!]+v=([\w-]+)[\w&;+=-]*[\#t=]*([\d]*)[&;10shdq=]*

Yes, I noticed this earlier today, too. Apparently they've decided to SEO the piss our of their website. I'll have a fix for that here in a few.

***ATTENTION NEW DEFINITION***
But it's a special one that you can only get here: 238021. ;)

Probably because they're cached. I'm not certain. You can try disabling the cache prior to deleting the definition and see if they go that way, then re-enable it later, or you can manually edit the posts in question.
Since it looks like the definitions for these haven't changed since earlier releases I'm assuming that there has been an underlying product change that broke internal linking. Given this is there any plan to address these in a future release?
Thanks for your help!

I'm working a new set of Internal Linking. It will probably be vBulletin version specific, as it seems there's some subtle little changes in vBulletin that's nerfing this for some boards. I'm still not sure it will be as comprehensive as the last set, so it might not work with all boards. We'll just have to see how it plays out.

Great. Thank you. The version we're currently running is vb 3.8.1 so anything between 3.8.1 and 3.8.5 would be appreciated. Thanks again!
