But it'd be Great for the Coders (vbboarder and J98680B2423E) to provide a Better One; they know their code and I already pointed the Exact Plugin Code Line and also the Template related with that Plugin where the Conflict is and that is Partially Acoided by the Solution I Shared. :rolleyes:

Bug: I've just noticed that for Blogs, when Activating the Mod to work in Blogs, the "Nominate This Post" Link and Button are Displayed on the First Post of the Blog (the Blog/Thread's Post), even if I've set on the Options for the Usergroup 1 (Guests) to be Banned from Using the Mod. :confused:

Bug: When Nominating a Post, and then Removing the Nomination, the Counter of Replies of the Nomination Thread doesn't Get Reduced. :confused:

Example:

Once created the Nomination Thread, an User Nominates a Post; a Reply is Created on the Nomination Thread; and Replies Counter for the Thread increases from 0 to 1; then the User Retire the Nomination of the Post, the Reply Post on the Nomination Thread and the Poll Item are Deleted (that's Ok), but if you go to the Forum Display and the List of Threads, you'll see that the Number of Replies of the Nomination Thread Keeps Being One (1) and Not Zero (0), (remember that Now there are Not Replies to the Thread because the Nomination was Retired). :confused:

I Hope you can Fix this on Your Next Update.

When I removed my nomination I got a message that the thread has been nominated by 4,294,967,295 users with Voters: 65535.. It appears its reducing the count from 1 to 4,294,967,295 rather than from 1 to zero.

I did do this..I get the no permissions issue and it seems that some of the setting don't really work IE: age cut off.

This is what I've discovered...When I turn off allow topics in precedding month only the permission message goes away.


Disable Nominating Topics Older Than X Days doesn't work for me...Where should I look to fix this? Without this option I'll have to uninstall :(

This problem has been posted several times already. It has something to do with allowing users to withdraw their nominations. I suggest disabling nominations withdrawal until this bug has been fixed.

I'm only running this mod on a test site so I have not been able to replicate this problem. On my test site, I have several users in different usergroups, and I tried 'withdraw your nominations' and 'withdraw all nominations', but still have not been able to reproduce this problem. So it probably involves some convoluted series of added nominations/ withdraw nominations actions. If people post more useful info (instead of obvious error/ bug complaints) about the series of nomination actions that happens on a specific post, then I may be able to debug this problem.

I'm not familiar w/ this Mod BNG however you could remove the phrase and type what you want ;) just make sure any href tags etc stay in place or anything telling it the count :D

Regarding #3, I forgot the exact location of the code that determine which post wins 3rd place when tied with others.... it may be by post title, post date, or even post id. That can easily be changed, but like I said, forgot the exact location.

Regarding your comment on #2: if you manually edit nominate_topic_amount via mysql or write a script to edit it, you will totally change the logic of this mod and find your nominations contest to be arbitrary! I strongly advise against this and will not support any more Q's if you do so.

@fukdawrld: don't know why your memberinfo blocks are repeating.... it may be related to having both the nominations & groans mods installed. Have you tried disabling the groan mod?

If there is no new thread with a new poll for the May contest, then your nominations cron task did not run. You can manually run it by going to admincp > scheduled task manager > 'Run Now' nominate topic task.

It does work with VB 3.8.2. However, some users are having trouble with this mod so if your forum is heavily modded, then it may not work. A known issue is that it sometimes shows the wrong # of votes if you allow users to delete their nominations, so you should disable that feature in VB options.

Got your PM, but you should not PM unless it's personal and just post to this thread so all can benefit from bug issues/ fixes.

This mod uses several $template_hook's from postbit. You can customize your postbit or use whatever postbit you want as long as you have the $template_hook's that are in the postbit template by default (they don't have to be at the same locations though). So find all $template_hooks in the default postbit (looks like: $template_hook[ ... ]), and add whatever is missing to the template that you're using.

If you need further help, you need to mark this mod as "installed".

Yes, and it would be nice if I won a new car. If it's important to you, you should learn the mod's code or at least encourage people to help debug it. You complain about not having time.... we all don't have free time on our hands. Making snippy comments about the bugs will get you nowhere.

If I knew how to code it I would, but as I said, I don't have enough time to learn something new! As I'm sure you don't have enough time to learn how to heal people without the use of drugs or surgery like I do. You could learn, but it would take you years and I'm sure you wouldn't want to learn it if you were only going to use it once. If I possessed the skill to code with php, I would definitely help debug this but I don't so it would be nice to see someone that did code...such as the creator or the supporters of this mod...it'd be nice to see a fix to problems that seem consistent on every board that has installed this. This mod has been up for a year and doesn't even work on 90% of people's boards...

I commend you for being able to code this and will give you praise if you do fix it. I didn't even know anyone was working on it since the coder just up and disappeared and it hasn't been updating in the longest period of time. And I hadn't seen you post anywhere saying you were updating it. If I missed it, I'm sorry.

Hello i had made some polls and thats working great i see 4 of them. I voted and some of my members voted. So all that works great but i set this up for "Topic Fortnight" and i didnt get a winner. I have as of now a winner wich is 76 votes and that winner didnt run. I am using the lastest version of VB and i have no mods on this forum. This is a fresh instal.

I do not allow users to delete. I also did what you stated to do

going to admincp > scheduled task manager > 'Run Now' nominate topic task

But thats not working either.

I understand your frustration vboarder but please don't penalize the rest of us. Your work on this mod is incredible. I had just downloaded the most recent version v1.636 (after issues with an earlier version and had uninstalled off my live site) and I am testing in on my test site now and it works so much better, more fluidly.

Is there something more current than v1.636?

UPDATE: I'm pretty sure that it calculated at some point yesterday (Monday) because one of my members told me that he got the automated PM. But nothing else has happened.

So my question now is, aside from members getting the PM, what else does this do at the end of the cycle? Is it supposed to announce the winners somewhere (such as in the Poll thread that it creates)? Should it generate a new Poll thread? If so, neither of these has happened and it's putting new nominations in last week's thread.

Wow I have to say this mod really takes some difficulties that I had running a thread of the week. The one thing I would like to see is that when nominating a map users can (possibly have to) write a brief descritption of why they would like to see that thread nominated. Otherwise its hard to tell when someone has really put some thought into nominating a specific thread or if they are just doing it as a favor or for quick post count.

So instead of

Hi! Great mod you have here, it's been on the website I currently administrate since before I signed up. But there is a bug/error/glitch that I have received several times and I am looking for a possible fix. I am not exactly sure what causes it, although other members who have this problem say it is withdrawing a nomination, but every once in a while one of my threads will somehow get 4,294,967,295 nominations out of nowhere. Seeing as how I don't have 2/3 of the world's population on this forum, that can't be right. Any fixes?

Thank you for this awesome mod. I have some questions:

1. I've set option "Disable Nominating Topics Older Than X Days" to 30 days, but it seems that this option does not work for me. I have seen that this bug was reported by the other persons int this thread here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1775795&highlight=Disable+Nominating+Topics+Older+Than#pos t1775795) and here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1618404&highlight=Disable+Nominating+Topics+Older+Than#pos t1618404). Even after setting this option to 30 days all the posts on the forum can be nominated.

I've tried to use option Disable Nominating Topics Not Made During Preceeding Month, setting it to "yes", but in this case user can not nominate posts created in the current month. So I can't use this option.

2. Is it possible to get the menu with Find {1}'s current nominees, Find {1}'s nominations and others in the interface of moderators. Now I can acces it only in the administrator accounts.
