I'm going to put up a minor update tomorrow to fix all the little things that have come up, and make a few minor cosmetic adjustments. So if anyone else has noticed anything odd please let me know. Next "big" update possibly this weekend, maybe the next will include a new game :)

And the one that seems to be on the top of the wish lists, multiplayer Texas Hold'em is coming along nicely. Screen gets drawn, 10 seats are there, 10 people can join, chat room works, game starts and deals two cards each, then times out and dumps the hand because it doesn't know what else to do yet :D But most of the "hard" stuff is done, just needs a little more time, but it is definitely coming soon.

So there is a little update on where things sit.


Sounds great! I can tell you this, get texas hold'em working, and this will be one of the biggest hacks on here. :D Members have been asking for multplayer in the arcades for years.. This would be the first one out....

can you make the player can increased the bet money for each time.
for example: the player can type (200, 10000, 3678, 190 ..... to bet) or player can press many time in the money bet (press 10 times in 100 chip = 10000).

Played a bunch of hands paying attention to that and it worked for me, payout was what it should have been. I'll do a little more digging later though.

Just to say that if you have a number of javascripts installed in header, and can't get the games to work, that's why...as I found out! Just clear them one by one! Got the Blackjack & Video Poker working now...just waiting on how to delete Sports Betting Pool events from main page!

I have a question on the payouts... On the Most Won table....

You have say a person:

User Bet Won Percent

Does that mean they actually lost 100 points?? Or they won 900?? I would think anything over 100% means they gained points.. So if the percent is less than 100%, that means they lost points??

I'm just not sure how to read that stat.. :D

Basically it means you have bet 1000 in total, and gotten 900 back in total, so you are down 100. Or a 90% return on your bets, not bad, but you don't have a future as a professional gambler ;)


However your bet amount takes into account money put into events that have not been resolved yet. So if you got 200 out in lottery and sports bets that is included in your bet amount, but until they are resolved nothing is getting put into your total won.

So yes, you are reading it correct ;)

Well, it's kind of a catch. What happened is that you exited the game without finishing a hand the last time you played, so it finishes the hand for you there. So what you are seeing is the last hand you drew from the last time you played, but since you didn't complete the discard part of the hand it's just cleaning house a little on your hand.

Should probably be cleaned up, but that is what is happening.

Nothing in the payout code got changed, all that changed was a little check to make sure it got a response from the server on where to stop before trying to stop anyways (leading to more spinning if your server is falling behind at the time)

I'll recheck that, but I suspect it just went unnoticed, there isn't any notification for getting any less then a jackpot right now, and 2 of 3 doesn't give a very high payout.

Lottery payout problem confirmed, I should have a fix tonight.

Edit: It was a easy fix, update with new includes/cron/casino_lotto.php file to fix.

And for anyone that had draws go through and not payout, you can get the draw to be done again by setting the ticket numbers to NULL for that draw in the casino_lottery_draw table, next time the cron task runs it will pick new numbers and payout properly.

Changes to settings effect the next draw, but will not effect the current draw.

Basically this is so if you have a $2 draw going, some people buy tickets, then change it to $10 you don't have people buying tickets on the same draw for different amounts ;)

I haven't been able to duplicate this, I get proper payouts every time. I'll dig into it a little more when I get time, but can you please answer the questions above about what you are seeing happen?

Basically, you place a $10 Slot bet, and if you lose, it deducts OK, but if you win if displays the Payout OK, but doesn't add it on to your balance. Another instance is say you won $30, it only adds $20 on to your balance!

If I have 20, and put 10 in, then win 10. My balance is 20. +0 from starting balance

I should add, whilst I'm in the thread pointing out bugs, that this modification is fantastic and it's proving very popular on my site.

My ultimate aim now, as I also have both v3arcade and ibproarcade, AND the inferno quiz running, is to install vBcredits and integrate all four via that, as they are all compatible.

One small template bug, in slots_main you have a rogue apostrophe. Up to date browsers seem to just ignore it, but in IE6 it makes the "Payout" block in slots have no background, instead of the thead background it is meant to have.

One thing I've done on mine, which you might have noticed, is that everywhere there is a table that uses class='tborder', I have added cellspacing='$stylevar[cellspacing]' cellpadding=$stylevar[cellpadding]'.

What this does is make the tables exactly match the tables used elsewhere in vBulletin, which I like all mine to do. It does however make them take up slightly more room, but in all the cases I've seen there's plenty of space for that.

I think it makes it neater, but it's not technically a bug, it's a styling 'thing'. :D

I think it's pretty close at the moment to be honest. Other than the table thing, I've only made minor alterations, and added a column down the side of the lottery pages. That's pretty much it. I prefer to keep things clean and uncluttered, too much clutter puts people off.

The main thing I've done really is added a casino navbar that's common to every page in the casino, for ease of navigation (and to match what I did with my arcades). This was simply a matter of creating a template casino_navbar, calling it in the relevant files, and then adding $casino_navbar into each template under [i]$navbar[i].

There may well be a better way of doing that, but I'm no programmer. :D

Yes, that's definitely an issue with my navbar. Turning off a game wouldn't remove the link. I might have a play about sometime and see if I can sort that. It hasn't been a big issue for me since I plan to run all the games.

They are rare, but do happen. Like a real machine, it's weighted towards certain stop points, but all combinations are possible. I've hit 3 cherries, strawberries and lemons ;)

3 x Strawberries are the most common, and will occur about 1.5 % of the time.

Put everything together and do the math gives pretty much dead on 100% payout though.

Okay got a screen shot of that bug I mentioned in one of my last posts, a member got it as well, and also thinks the blackjack is a little bugged/rigged

I do see the problem there......I think Blackjack and Poker are about right, but the Lottery and the Slots seem to be a hiding to nothing. Nobody's actually won our lottery jackpot at all yet despite it running every night for a fortnight and people are losing interest.

The lottery could be sorted by making it possible to reduce the number of "balls" even further, from 20 to say 15.

Slots...I don't know. I've won a few times and it *seems* ok but I agree some people might prefer "all three" to come in a bit more often. Maybe "easy/hard" settings might resolve this one, perhaps the payouts could be less on an easy setting but more frequent...or something. I dunno. :D

Lottery range can also be decreased, math seems to hold down to 3 x 13, which is a 1 in 286 chance of winning the jackpot, and a minimum jackpot of 68, average around 140.

lol, so one person saying its rigged against them, and another saying it's rigged for them :D

It's not rigged in any way, cards are dealt at random and the dealer follows the standard hold on 17 rule used in casino's.

3rd wheel missing it's position occasionally has been fixed, and the odds and payouts for slots have been reworked. Dropped to 6 types of fruit, cherries only payout if they are left aligned and the lottery allows you to select as low as 13 for a range.

So that will all be there for the next update.

No, that's an excellent idea. I nominated this mod some days ago because I think it's great and has fantastic potential. I'd rate it as potentially as important as the arcades have been, if that type of thing works well on your site (which it does for mine).

From the wish list department comes: Have you ever heard of Pachislo? It's a Japanese slot machine. Similar in respect to an average slot machine except it allows the player to stop each reel individually. This gives a little more interaction for the player as they attempt to hit their targets, called eye-shooting. The Japanese law allows their machines to "slip" up to 4 positions from where the stop button is pressed to control the outcome in the Parlor's favor. As a future addition, it would be a good one.

Just played a few games with hornstar1337 and evesve.

The FIRST game we played didn't payout! The game played OK, just nobody won :D

We tried refreshing the page, and the game reset to a new game. The game we were playing was lost. However, we tried refreshing the page again and it worked fine. So perhaps the page refresh wasn't the problem? While we were chatting, the game reset. So we guessed that it might be caused by a timeout. If nobody bets/plays for a certain period of time the game ends/resets?

At one point, someone folded... but next time around they were back in the game. So might be a small bug there too.

All in all a superb addition to this Add-On that worked very well... and hell is it addictive :D

I can't wait till I get this on my site. The guys are gonna LOVE it. OK, gotta go click MOTM now.

One matter that I think does need sorting on the casino in general is the time zones....I'm having nightmares with the sports betting pool getting events to close at the right time since it doesn't grab the vB timezone settings.

I amended the code in the sportspool file to show vbtime to members but in the admin panel I haven't managed to do this, so getting the times to tally is a nightmare and events often close at the wrong time.

It's especially hard as you cannot easily amend an event once created, I am having to alter the timestamp via phpmyadmin using a Unix timestamp generator.

The lottery has the same problem...ours is always drawn at 3amUK time which is obviously after most people have gone to bed. I tried to amend that but made something of a mess of it.

That sounds like a great idea, so count me as a vote for that too. It would also be handy if we could perhaps make it so that only certain members (perhaps a particular group) could join the Tournament? That we we could have organised games etc.

I deleted the Casino Folder from my server, then uploaded all the files (using overwrite) and everything is working perfectly.

I have the Admin Control Panel and everything works just as expected.

An idea for improved slots. Instead of only having 1 slot machine where you are trying to please everyone. Why not have a slots room, where there are several machines the player can choose from, and then they can play the slot machine they like the best. this way more slot machines can be added over time, and it will add more fun to the slots part of the casino. eg. different designed slot machines, different odds, that previous idea of a Japaneses slot machine where the player can stop each rotation as they choose, etc.

You need to upload and overwrite existing files. The banana is no longer on the wheel at all, so you are using the old image.

Did you reupload the cards folder? Player cards use a new set of images that weren't there before. Plus it uses a bunch of new buttons

Correct. Removing the apostrophe and replacing it with a space solved the dead adminPanel issue.

If you want to do it manually all of the tables that start with "casino_" as well as the casino_cash field from the user table need to be removed.

ok i got it removed from deleting the casino cash field from users....

the uninstall needs some work. i have reinstalled it, please provide answers for my last few questions if you can.

yes, sort of. The option to set that isn't built in, but can be done manually.

You need to change the default value for casino_cash from 250 to 0. Are you using phpmyadmin? it can be done through that fairly simply.

We ran a test game with three players last night, and we found the following:

1) One of the three players had trouble with the chatroom box, he could type into it and we could see what he typed but he couldn't see anything we typed.

2) Sometimes you found yoursdelf pressing a ready button which did not respond.

3) One player ended up showing as "sat out" but could not get back in.

Apart from that, it's looking good. I didn't get any database errors.

payout problem is that you have a older version of the slotwheel image in there, New one doesn't have banana's at all so it's showing different results then it thinks it has.

The other one, not sure, that one is odd. I'll play with it a little and get something that works in.

Also, it would be cool if down the road the Texas Hold 'Em was set up with a TOURAMENT feature where members had to "BUY IN" (say for $1,000 or so and play until they drop out or have no money left) so that a tournament could be held with a defined winner.

In the sports pool section there is 10 available set outcome spaces.

Would there be any chance of making it so you could have 50 set outcomes.

Hi Andrew yes i had .22 installed that was working well, i installed 3 lastnight, it installed ok at first but the problem started when i installed it again by over writing it, i could not uninstall, i have access to phpmyadmin and mysql console

Internet Explorer? If so try it in Firefox, Opera or something else and see if works there.

Put up a updated texasholdem_functions.php, should clean up the database errors, and set the messages to black for anyone that was using a different color for body text.

I will repackage this later tonight, if you where having trouble let me know if this solves it or not.

That was my fault, We edited a lot of the images so we didn't overwrite.

The payout text overlapping only happens in firefox and only since the last 2 updates.

How come the cherry payout was changed? usually if you get cherries anywhere it pays out.

I have to say this is the best add-on i have ever used in a forum enviroment. I just spent hours playing hold'em. My members have pushed the no-limit, but frankly that can make it less fun for poor members. I suffered some slow downs, but nothing major. However, 1 time there were 3 of us in the room playing and 2 members got 4 cards. I did not. But one of my members took a couple screenshots...

It paid out on the higher cards. From my perspective (as the 1 member who got 2 cards like normal) everything looked normal. It only happened once after about 2 hours of playing.

Also, it doesn't seem to recognize straights. I lost a K high straight to a pair of 3s on a big table... about $2500 worth. We had 2 or 3 other issues where straights were not recognized.

When this is all done it will get my vote for MOTM for sure... plus, i think a donation is in order. This little add-on is just awesome.

No, but from what I can gather this has somethng to do with internet explorer not wanting to add more text to the box, I'll do what I can to work it out, but as a temporary measure I recommend a better browser ;)

I will. They were random, some were all numeric and others had face cards. But I don't recall a straight paying out correctly. Flushes paid out, as did every other combination. I almost had a straight flush to the jack... I would have been interested on seeing if that paid out.

I have the same trouble with one of the cards dropping down to the next row. However, this is due to me having vBulletin integrated into a Content Management System that I prefer to use a fixed width with.

Sure, if the main cards were just a little smaller it would work fine for me. BUT, it's no big deal, I just open up my browser to full screen size and it works perfectly. A small price to pay for such a fantastic MOD.

Card resizing is easy, I just do them all at once by command line ;)
