I tried unhecking one of the duplicate chip value boxes in the casino settings and save my changes but they keep coming back checked again and also keep showing up in all the games??

I thought un-installing from the plugin/product manager would remove the tables from the database.Ive never had to manually remove tables from the database to un-install a mod like this.

figures out my problem, for some reason the field which ive added the screeny of had two lots of each chip up to $50 only,

like

After playing around with this mod, I have to agree it's pretty nice!

One thing I would like to see added though is a bit more functions/features for the sport betting game. I'd like to atleast see some odds worked into it and also the ability to link to a thread (adding a graph, like vbookie does above the thread)

A bit more focus on that and you'd see a whole lot more installs, being that further devopment of vbookie has ceased.

Several forums reported problems about slot machines and route which keep spinning in 3.7, I've got that same problem. So I can't really say it works on 3.7.

The lottery takes 24 hrs to activate itself.

Because a Cron job has to run.

Having said that, this hack is currently abandoned by the author, sadly, he hasn't been on vb.org for over a month now. The casino's own support site is now just riddled with spammers.

Very sad as this showed much promise and even won "Mod Of The Month" but I think perhaps the author got a bit overwhelmed with it all.

Technically, IMO you should censor tinyurl.com on your forum as it can be used for menacing acts. Using tinyurl for phishing is one way people are using for this criminal act. Ofcourse, you never really can know all the time where a tinyurl will lead you as well. Also, if you do not allow advertising on your forum and have banned certain sites, tinyurl can be used to bypass this ban. These are just some reasons I have found to censor it. :erm:

Oh and it's not the only bug we found. This is a great hack but it's really full of little and bigger bugs.

Sometimes in poker the screen stops or something and I was kicked out the game for no reason. Another bug is that users get huge amount of money or lose it for no reason at all.

And when you set lottery to 20 numbers, it keeps showing 25 numbers.

So it the author can please look at these that would be great.

It's partially a casino problem, but not entirely. If I misspell it e.g. http://thezoo.byethost12.com/casin.php , I also get redirected instead of seeing your 404 error page.

Fix the 404 error handling first (you may need your host's help for this), then figure out where your casino.php actually is, because it ain't in your root directory.

well its been well over 24 hours and its yet to work!!

At this point you can run the cron job manually, Thats what i had to do
and after that it worked fine.

AdminCP > Scheduled Tasks > Scheduled Tasks Manager

Find "Casino Lottery Draw" in the list and click the "Run Now" button.

That should clear you right up :)

I also visited the developers site and it is very sad to see all the spammers taking it over :(

I don't think the uninstall has ever really worked right. The only way I have found to properly uninstall it is to delete the files and then drop the database tables associated with the casino, using PHPMyAdmin. There's also a field in the user table - I think it's casino_cash or something like that - it's been discussed a few times early on in the thread. Removing the casino_cash field prior to install/upgrade usually lets you reinstall properly.

Well yes, that's what I did as well.

And was promptly chastised.

There's two problems. First, the "Search this mod" function returns an error if you search on "3.7".

The second, that the author is AWOL for months, so the BETA version now has no support, is filling up the back end of this mod with problems. In other words, some people have managed to get it at least partially working in 3.7, but many others are having lots of trouble with it.

So there's no clear answer, except that I think you'd have to be crazy to install an abandoned beta product on a new version of vbulletin.

I think I installed mine about the day Andrew left. And he never wrote a good uninstaller for it, so I may be stuck with trying to make it work in 3.7.

I've never been a fan of people saying "search the thread" in an angry fashion.

However, I have to agree it does get a bit frustrating when someone asks a question, someone else answers it, and then literally two posts down someone else asks the exact same question. I realise it's not realistic to read 207 pages of a thread, and answers from early on may not be correct now anyway, but I think it's not unreasonable to say "read the last two or three pages" at the very least.

I have the Casino working on 3.7.0, albeit I am still on casino version 0.80, but I honestly would not recommend anyone install this on 3.7 at the moment as it wasn't written for that version and there is no support - the author has abandoned the hack, for the moment at least.

Only install on 3.7 if you are quite experienced with hacking and can try and work round the problems, otherwise leave well alone.

Andrew, I got your latest installed.... but a couple of my users are reporting this error:

I asked them what they done to cause this, they said they done nothing out of the ordinary. I went into Let 'em Ride and played for a few minutes and couldn't reproduce the error... perhaps it something triggering based on the Array not setup properly?




Some of my users get the same error when playing slots. It is on a per-account basis as my account and others works fine - however if i log into the accounts that have the problem - I get the array error.

I dont know if anyone reported thsi but I found a issue with the casino, If you uninstall it and remove the files then reinstall everything again, the game settings add extra 1 of each beting chip when it shouldnt im already at like 5 of each, how do I fix this?

What you need to do is uninstall, delete all the casino tables

Same here...when I moved to 3.7 Gold the casino carried on working.

I do know some people had issues with 3.6.10 though which only seemed to get sorted with an upgrade to 3.7.0. That doesn't seem to make sense, but several people reported it.

I never used 3.6.10 as I've been running 3.7 since Beta 2.

I am currently on 3.7.0 and the casino has always worked fine - I shall be leaving my next upgrade until 3.7.2 and I'll report back to confirm if it carries on working on that.

That is probably our best bet since Andrew seems now to have left us. :(

I would highly recommend all of you guys to check out an external points system for these needs. I personally use vbCredits. It was one of the best moves I have made thus far. It will give you so many different options you will not be able to keep up with them all.

You will be able to earn cash in many other ways, as well as go in the whole. And change what your site currency is called. This would be my suggestion anyway.

That's not true!

Although it has it quarks... I been using this mod with vbcredits for many many months. There are somethings, like texas hold em, that don't work right, not because of compatibility. I try to warn members not to use them. Most other casino games, especially the roulette type games work very well with vbcredits.

Of course, support on this has been lax...

Casino isn't working all of a sudden. The actual casino page loads just fine, but when I click on one of the games I get this:

Edit the "vB Google Search Cloud 1" plugin and make the code:

My only problem with Sports Betting is that anytime I make a change in the main casino settings I have to go back to the game settings and re-add the administrator user group # (and any others) to be sports betting administrators.... Otherwise I can't add new or settle events- annoying at first but eventually you won't need to be make changes to the main settings so not as big a deal.

Yes, install only one of them. The author just left an older version online if you prefer it... but not sure why anyone would want it. Also, if you use this with vbcredits, be sure to weed back through the thread and see manual updates. I don't rmemeber them and I am not sure how far back, but there are a couple to get it working right.

Version 0.92 Installed and working in vB 3.7.3 PL1. This add-on ROCKS!

Warning - Raw Database and system changes used below. Do not attempt if changes aren't clear, you could hork your entire installation!

That aside.. The Casino worked OK for a while, then I was getting the "This game is AJAX Powered", or random user page reloads, booting them. By this time, myself, as well as a huge mob of members were... unhappy addicts, and needed their casino back! This is the most AWESOME add-on I've ever come across, by the way! First I unloaded/reloaded add-on. Finally corrected errors by optimizing the DB Tables, then tweaking php5-xcache module options. Optimizer/Cache could also be Zend Server, or any other PHP caching optimizer, something vBulletin recommends for all larger installations.

Below are the general steps I took, which reduced server load greatly, and increased speed by ∞, followed by "Suggestions for next version".

*Note: The below does depend on free real RAM for caching, so if server is digging heavily into swap space to start with, the below may not be as magic as they were for this case, but should still help.

What I did to speed up existing code database access by ∞, most commands entered at mysql client prompt:

Change the "text" field types in database to varchar(x) with x being between 20 and 64 for most fields, like game name, in all tables. Make sure the field is big enough, but not overboard, e.g. 200 chars for 'username'. Any time a text field is used in query, it forces a temp table, no matter how small the query. The only fields that couldn't be readily changed were the PHP code storage.
Add indexes to all tables linked or used in conditions, pretty good performance increase, small DB size increase due to small table size.
Once most "text" fields in most casino_* files were changed to "varchar()", then indexed if needed:
Run ANALYZE TABLE casino_<tablename> - for each table.
If required, install php5-xcache module (or similar) and tweak settings.


WishList for next version

Would LOVE to have plugin use the vbulletin Datastore memcache config if enabled.
Lacking full memcache ability, ability to use the php5-memcache module if available, greatly reducing overhead from very frequent DB Reads


Details: Easy-ish explanation, hosting providers may be able/eager to help with this as well. In my.cnf, enable slow-query-log at 1-3 seconds, AND "log queries without indexes". For each <query> that shows up in mysql-slow, run "Explain <query>" in mySQL CLI, if it doesn't show indexes, add them to the fields in search portion of query (where clause, in, =, etc), especially if under "Extra" it says "using filesort" or similar, those are killing performance, especially at the rate the query is called.

Hope this helps some that were having problems with overloading/speed problems.

They appear to both still be installed and active according to the admin panel yet thay are no longer on the navbar.

In "navbar" template in your theme under AdminCP -> Style Manager -> <<expand>>
Search for:
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="calendar.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td>

Above that, add in the template:
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="casino.php?$session[sessionurl]">$vbphrase[casino_casino]</a></td>

That puts the link to the left of Calendar, the default. You can put it in a different spot as well, make sure to not miss a tag for an <if> statment, or put it inside another <td></td>

If you use template-modifications add on, that might be a better way to do the edits.

A friend of mine had issues with his 3.7.X board running .92. They were freezing up constantly. I sent him .91 (I have every version of every software I load on my hard drive at home, in case I need to revert) and it ran smoothly for him. At that time .91 wasn't up here. I can only assume he realized .91 works better with 3.7 then .92 did.

I had to switch to 3.7.3 2 weeks ago (had to get vBCommerce running ;) ) and have also had no issues with .91 running.

does vbcredits work with this ?

Yes, just change the cash field in the adminCP to "credits".

That should set you up. I'm running the same version on 3.7.3.1

Minor glitches with AJAX in Texas Holdem, but most all were fixed by forcing the tables to be in memory (in post above).

I'm on version 0.81 can I update straight to ver 0.92? I've searched this thread and read many pages first but without finding an answer, also can I assume that the update will not reset my admin casino settings0 or users history/cash? I've never done an update before for any mod so naturally I am a little cautious ;)

If you have a graphical interface to your database, select the table names above and choose "DROP" or "DELETE".

The above does NOT get rid of the "casino_cash" field in CN_user. The new installer overlooks that if it already exists. Otherwise, the solution for that is on most of the pages from the beginning of this thread.

Im currently running 3.7.3, and I uninstalled (dropped the tables I needed to drop) and made the '/clientscripts' fix to the header...

Well I went and screwed something up.

I had it working fine with version 0.70 or something, but decided to upgrade to 0.92 and now when you go to the casino, clicking on any of the games links does nothing. It just refreshes the main casino page.

On a different site it works fine for me, so it's not a browser issue.

I tried upgrading.

Then uninstalling (manually in SQL), and deleting all the files and reinstalling both 0.91 and 0.92 with no luck.

i tried searching, but "pages won't load" or Games won't load" or Games don't play gives me nothing.

Thoughts?

Ok, so I started the install on this.

I copied all the files to their right directories, but got to the in the install text:

And I don't know how to import the XML file. Or what XML file to use. Lol.

I just read posts about this being in the graveyard? And I HOPE not, my users would love a casino on the forums... I am using a new copy of vBulletin. 3.7.3 Patch Level 1 to be exact.

There are enough users that have installed this or support from other members to completely vanish. The thread already has most answers somewhere in the pages for most questions (use search this mod at top).

I'm waiting for somebody to post they made a 7 card stud hack for it. :) I might get around to it someday if nobody else does.

Some people have installed the 0.91 for upgrading early versions when 0.92 didn't work.

I believe that is the reason both are still available for download in this mod. Unpack/overwrite all files with 0.91, and install with overwrite in admincp. I don't know if 0.91 needs the modification to the xml file to no create the cash field in the user table (See first half of thread comments).

If that doesn't help/work. Post what parts do work, or what is displayed when you go to the url of the main casino page/links from there.

I had this plugin before with older version of VB, updated to 3.7 and never bothered updating it as I didn't see support for VB3.7 so removed it, I decided to install it again with VB3.7.4 after seeing so many people have success.

However, when I went to test it I had 2 $1 Chips, 2 $5 Chips etc... I tried to un-check 1 of them in "Game Settings" as I only need 1 of each denomination showing for betting, but when I hit "Save Changes" it auto checks the 2nd box again.

Figured I'd uninstall the xml plugin , and re-install... maybe that would fix it. Hmm nope!
Now I have 3 of each denominations for betting. 3 x $1 chips, 3 x $5 chips, Etc...

How would one go about fixing this, anyone know?

If you don't have any custom game settings, uninstall, drop (Delete) all of the casino* tables related to this mod from your database, and reload. Otherwise, manually go into the casino_games and/or casino_settings tables to make sure the chips used aren't doubled/tripled there.

Simply dropping the tables and then loading the mod will re-create them, and set everything to default, except the "Cash" Field in User table, but the new package doesn't error out on that.

I had to uninstall from my Vb 3.6.8_p2 and noticed after reinstalling that the $Chip values vere some times doubled or trippled.

So I had to uninstall and go in to my DB and manualy delete all casino taples and I noticed there that the tables do not get the vb_ prefix..

Is there a way to fix this?
