Add the custom css from manual to the top of additional.css and see if it applies.

That was it! Hmmm...so the same CSS that goes into the livenotifications.css works in additional.css? I did have some of your CSS in there before, so that is how I probably got it to work before.

Arabic fixes were not part of 6.1, it was a separate glitch we fixed. This will hopefully be fixed in 6.2. Some of your issues, the RTL, will be an issue. may need a separate CSS. Not toO experienced in RTL.

Arabic fixes were not part of 6.1, it was a separate glitch we fixed. This will hopefully be fixed in 6.2. Some of your issues, the RTL, will be an issue. may need a separate CSS. Not toO experienced in RTL.

This is a css conflict issue. You can #1, add our css to the top of additional.css and that might fix it.

That occurs when you've copied the css wrong. It might be an existing issue with your css in additional.css.

If you get that curl issue, then its not accepting the new css, and thats why this solution isn't applying, but I believe its the right solution to your issue.

I posted the same issue a while ago with a previous version. A user recommended to uninstall the plugin first and then reinstall the newest.

You put the images in the wrong directory, or wrong misc folder.

If your theme is specific, create a misc folder or find it within that theme folder and add them in..

We think we know why this is occuring.


Go to > Language and Phrases, and set the following:

By doing so, you can translate our mod to arabic. If you don't have the time, I will try to find someone else, but this would be awesome, and will remove those wierd symbols.

We have full phrased this modification for quick and easy translation.

I already tried to translate 5 phrases just to check if it will work or not but unfortunately it is not fixed.

The five phrases is:

I confirm this point. It is fixed in most parts but not in the dropdown menu. So for people using the ultimate version, and want to add links, the problem will occur.
There is no way to test other parts such as moderator's full dropdown menu as it is not included in the Lite version. The same problem may be there as well.

I have finished the french translation and here it is (the language file only). You can add it to your next version if you want. Concerning parts I can't access (Ultimate Version Only) or products I don't use, my translation may not be accurate though.
I like to check live if my translation is correct.

I have a forum with +500,000 posts and +10,000 users online during 24 hours
so I will not install it until I make sure it is working perfect in my test forum

on that time I will buy 1 month only to install it in our live forum and to make sure from the performance and the users like it. if all okay and when we decide to use it I will think to buy the life license.

I don't want to buy the 1 month license now and I cannot use it until you fix the Arabic bug in the user menu, and maybe the month will finish before you release the v7.0

On the other hand, I don't want to wait until you increase the prices.
I wish if you can fix this bug before v7.0 so I can buy it (1month) now, I will translate it, I will install it and test it while you are working on v7.0.

Just a gentle post from a VIP user

1. I use the Vbsocial 6.3 product and it is cool. However, make sure to take backup before you install any product. Some products (Vbsocial Wall activity stream) are in beta phase and can cause lot of DB problems especially in Activity stream and profile region. Complicates if you have VBseo.

2. The integration of other third party products with Vbsocial doesn't work that well. For example, the Vbseo Like integration, DBtech tagging isnt as seamless. This is especially true if you have some custom usergroups.

3. The integration of VBsocial Wall and Notification isn't smooth either. Many times when you write something on the wall and some other user likes your status or comments on it, you dont get a notification for it.

4. If you have a heavily customized theme, then god help you with the installation. Most of the changes they suggest on the manual have no impact on the way Vbnotification is displayed. Most of the times it is either not aligned properly or take lot of additions in the templates. The manuals are confusing too. Somewhere it says add code to Livenotifications.Css and the support says to do it in Additional.Css. So if you are new to this, you will get confused.

5. The Product support is one of the worst I have seen. Even free mods here get better support. The VIP support forums are left unanswered for a long long time and in between the user is left hanging while he awaits the reply of developers. The reply however is to the point and solves the problem.

6. The themes they provide are a delight. Work very well. Server load is low and does not impact performance. Rest of the features like Vbsocial view, Slider. Revenue share are also good.

They seem sincere in their effort but are slightly less organised. If they can improve on that, then they will be a force to reckon with.

Nice update (I think). Some things I've noticed though.

Your manual needs fixed - the replacement code for both the
disable_vb_default_settings and disable_vb_default_profile contains errors, also at the beginning it says 'Add after:' {vb:raw livenotifications_header} - add what after?

Took me a while to get it working with my 'Seamus' theme, I had to rework the header and comment tons of stuff out - the welcome text, username and logout links were all still showing, also I completely disabled the notification header for guests as it was showing error in the login/register area (see image).

DBtech's Thanks/Likes don't show up either. I've not tried out all of the other stuff yet.

so with the lite version you cant disable the thanks part of it now that is crap as i too use another mod for that i use DragonByte Tech: Advanced Post Thanks / Like (Lite and want to keep it,it does seem expensive and you`ve still got to have there copywrite and link in the footer unless you buy lifetime option at a shocking $299 witch is more than the vbulletin software itself but i may test again when i`ve heard more feedback on the 7.1

We're using TF theme over at http://buypoe.com/forum/forum.php, works fine. Make sure you have all the files uploaded properly and the latest version of vbsocial and vbulletin 4 installed.

And yes, simply add {vb:raw fixed_livenotifications_header} to the top of header theme to add notifications.

In version 6, i liked how the 3 basic logos (friends request, messages and notificiations) was put in place of the original vbulletin Notifications text.

Why not just incorporate it all back with that?

I think theres a bit of a misunderstanding about the logo in the header. That location is for you to change.
Just go into images >misc > ln_logo.png to change to your logo.

The admin has complete control on the looks of the dropdown. The initial logo is just my placeholder for. It is not meant to be a copyright of any sort. :)

The header doesn't really fit our forum look/feel so I would like to see how it looks with the other version.

I'm not getting all the reply notifications; I had 1 user reply to my thread and I got a notification. But then someone else replied and I didn't get anything in the bar. I then replied to the thread, and someone else replied to the post and no notification. Shouldn't I have gotten something from the other 2 people who replied?

edit: problem fixed, product does not work with Helpful answers add-on, now its runing.

But therere still some conflicts, in some styles it is fine at all, in some not (popups not open as they should do and i cant see the notificatons).
overall i would say that it need a big work around, specially on high customized styles.

Make a backup of the header template code.

Delete everything in it.

Then:

I just noticed something while trying to log in using a different PC.
I was going to log in using Facebook, but I don't see that option anywhere now.

Does your mod remove the login with Facebook option?
Wait, I see it in FireFox but not in IE10.

Also in IE10 Win 7 I noticed that once you log in, if you click the little gear icon that brings the dropdown menu. That menu will not go away, I've tried clicking somewhere else on the screen. I tried clicking save, and tried clicking the gear again. The menu stays there until I leave the page. When you click on your name in the social bar, the box that is supposed to appear, doesn't all the way display. You only see a small portion of it.

I asked this earlier, but in the dropdown with the user options. If the options are 'ultimate' features, and cannot be enabled in the lite version. Can these options be hidden from the dropdown to end users? It's confusing for them to have these options but the forum doesn't have them.

1. Yes, theres an option, to switch to a fixed version.
2. Yes using the header variable.
3. Possibly...works different on various themes..hard to tell from just your image. Doesn't seem to be aligned properly.

I tried clicking save, and tried clicking the gear again. The menu stays there until I leave the page. When you click on your name in the social bar, the box that is supposed to appear, doesn't all the way display. You only see a small portion of it.

I asked this earlier, but in the dropdown with the user options. If the options are 'ultimate' features, and cannot be enabled in the lite version. Can these options be hidden from the dropdown to end users? It's confusing for them to have these options but the forum doesn't have them.

*If you notice in IE10, facebook connect does not work for vbulletin :/ ..this is a vBulletin issue. See vbulletin.com forums as an example as it works in FF but not IE..

Where do you turn off the ultimate features?
When I go into the admin panel, it just says 'ultimate feature' with no radio button.

If I go into my test account, I still see the options:

Simply search in templates for a duplicate of {vb:raw livenotifications_header}

Its in your "header" template twice probably.

No not very hard. Theres a built in functionality that allows you to switch between the two types of stretched, or built in.

I'm still getting the list of users who liked the post, even though I disabled the thanks system included. Therefore, I now have two list of users who liked the post.

Any way to get that turned off? It's interfering with my existing like system and creating monsters out of threads that have post with 100+ likes.
