I'm having an issue with actually getting notifications to show up... I get a notification when someone sends me a PM but not when someone posts in my thread or posts a reply. Please help.. I'm running the light version.

Well for the lite version I believe I disabled one of those functions, not both though. You should recieve notifications for new posts or threads. (i forgot)

The lite version has less features. If you download the .xml of the lite version, inside the admincp you can compare the versions by seeing what's disabled.

Question before I buy - if you disable the main vbulletin notifications - which I would want to do - what happens to notifications such as awards/achievements? Do they just show up no where at all or will they show on the new panel?

You'll need to add usergroups configuration in the admincp Notifications area. Just add "2" which is registered users, and other usergroups

Thank you. I have run into another issue. Im having trouble changing the style of the whole thing, messing around with the css doesn't seem to do anything and when one gets a new notification the style is totally different but then disappears after 10 or so seconds. Also new PM dissappear even if you don't open them?

I was able to change almost the styles except two. The background color of li.livenotifications_link i can not change and their is an underline that appears above the username and poster which i can not get rid of.

Got it! was the 5 seconds refresh interval, I set to 30 and no more "hangs"

Depending on your theme, you will have to adjust your css settings. The plugin does auto adjust to your theme, but not all custom themes.

I . There has been a few optimization changes in the 3.0 version. We brought in an optimization guru to do some stuff on it. Our testing is based on our forums, as well as input from you guys. He did mention there wasn't too much he could improv, but he did make changes. I would say a large forum on a shared server would not do too well.

Theres ways to limit ajax calls and how often it performs those calls built into the system and configurable via admincp

The reason why the person receives notifications from public to private is because they have a message inside that thread. If you delete their post they wont receive notifications. Some people might like receiving those notifications still if the thread is in private. What you can calso do is prevent posting in that private section or lock the thread once moved.

We haven't tested it with Tapatalk since its note quite mainstream and vbulletin has their own mobile feat. set.

I have a ultimate user account on vbsocial.com. I downloaded the 3.5 version from that site. I noticed when I went to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.5 the 3.5 version has the 3.0 manual.

So because of this the instructions on what exactly needs to be done to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.5 is not there. Also before I see the 3.5 manual, I'm curious if the upgrade instruction explain exactly what needs to be done? In the manual it says 3.5 and it also says to upload Forum-Skins Notifications.xml which I can't find. I have: product-livenotifications-whitethemes.xml and product-livenotifications-darkthemes.xml

If you use IE, you can see that an image is missing. Right click on the missing image, and then go to properties. Look at what the location of the image is pointing to and place that image in that location

My header template is empty, all the information is inside navbar, when I put the variable in there it doesn't show anything but when I move all the information from the navbar template to the header template and put it in, it shows up but it messes up alot in my skin, tab highlghting isn't properly working and it no longer shows what forum/sub-forum you are in when you opened a thread. Is there a way to make this system work by putting it inside the navbar template?

My header template is empty, all the information is inside navbar, when I put the variable in there it doesn't show anything but when I move all the information from the navbar template to the header template and put it in, it shows up but it messes up alot in my skin, tab highlghting isn't properly working and it no longer shows what forum/sub-forum you are in when you opened a thread. Is there a way to make this system work by putting it inside the navbar template?

What type of theme are you using? I've seen all different types of integrations with this. It could work with navbar template. You just need to put the variable in the right place. Also overlapping could be an issue (z-index config)

Upgrading typically does not erase these template edits. But if you revert all your templates, then you would lose it.

sorry for double post, but we've experienced quite a serious issue.

Shortly after installing our server suffered severe server load. It was continuously calling misc.php?do=ln_getcount&numonly=1. Status page displayed hundreds.

Renaming the misc.php seems to resolve the server issue, it then became more responsive.

Is this a known issue? If so, is there a fix?

Thanks for that. I didn't realise the default setting was 5 seconds. The combination of that and high activity, didn't go so well. Increase seconds and it's now running okay.

Maybe request it but I think less people are using DB - User Tagging and Dave will include this own tagging system. Maybe he only includes bbcode mentions (for example search text if there is an Kolb bbcode or whatever)

{vb:raw livenotifications_header} This can technically be placed in any template where you want that dropdown to occur. Be sure to test it though for full functionality.

I will wait for version 6, as that has many much wanted functions listed. Those functions, will transform vbsocial from a nice notification system to vital functionality.

Especially the moderator notifications are critical to active boards. Currently vbulletin and various addons do not provide notifications for moderated content. Which means that moderated content can go undiscovered for a long time, killing off activity. For example: I often have 100+ moderated items in LDM, because staff forgets it for a month. You can imagine how annoying this is for members. Similar happens with blogs, images or vaultwiki articles that need to be approved before they become visible.

Friend requests take a bit longer. Specially with new accounts. I noticed this as well while doing testing, thought we fixed it.

Friend requests take a bit longer. Specially with new accounts. I noticed this as well while doing testing, thought we fixed it.

No, friend requests aren't working. I turned vBulletin built-in notifications back on and the friend request shows for that but it doesn't show in vBSocial Notifications dropdown or profile tab.

Just installed the new version, much better compared to the older one.

Still having my issue, when I click one of the 3 buttons to let it show notifications of any type it says its loading and then it redirects me to usercp.php instead of just having it load up on the same page. And when it goes to usercp.php it doesn't open or anything, it just redirects there.

Not sure if the first part is a bug or not, if it isn't then it possibly needs some tuning.

Notifications for vBSEO likes work, it the notification just says 'username has liked you' and the date - it would be helpful if it said 'username has liked your post in thread title'.

This part seems to be a bug, when you click on 'username has liked you' it redirects you to your user notifications for private messages page (possibly some code is mixed up since the private messages redirect isn't currently working).

Again this occurs in both the dropdown and the member profile.

We've determined that that there are various different hooks relating to friend requests. A new update will be coming shortly that will be fixes:
-Friend requests
-vBSEO redirects, (only occurs with people using vBSEO)
-Deleted pms do not show in pm drop down

I had Vbseo for 3.8.4 but have it disabled since I am running 4.1.11 now. And well, I looked through the code and the cause seems to be this template: livenotifications_header.

It mentions the usercp 3 times in its code, guessing once for every type of notification. So when I take out the usercp part, the code is this:<li class="ln_popupmenu " id="livenotifications">

it no longer redirects to usercp, but never finishes loading the notifications. And just keeps loading them forever.

If theres no notifications, yes its' suppose to be smaller. Might keep it wide though, cause it may come off as a glitch

The css I have in my CP is completely different and is missing quite a bit of information.
