Still seeing the following issues:
Friends request don't work.
I could live without this option for now and therefore disabled the "Enable Friend Request Notifications?" in the adminCP. However the icon/menu still shows up.

So far have major issues with the plugin even the Ultimate edition paid for. Both lite and paid have same basic issues

On the forum home and forums it seems to work half decent though i can't see the ajax working,

On threads, profiles the menus do not open nor collapse down even after clicking on them. This includes the cms/blog areas.

Also the notif profile tab shows nothing its blank on the profile pages.

the css is quite hard to read and should have an easy to change setting - is there a hook for additional.css you can plug into that can be easily changed via the settings manager for the plugin?

also Likes show up in notif window but don't show where they were liked (no url and no seo urls).

Sadly i have disabled this product as it was causing lag issues on my site when I'm typing a message in a post.

I'll try and explain the best I can, it's unfortunate I can't record my screen to show you what I mean. But i'll explain it anyway.

I installed the product and all was fine and seemed to be working well. Did a few tests sending PMs and stuff to see it work.

Then I was typing a reply to a thread and I was looking at my keyboard as i was typing it but then when I looked at the screen I noticed lots of errors in my typing which i thought was odd. Lots of letters appeared missing. Firstly I didn't link this issue to this product being installed and I put it down to maybe my PC was doing something in the background which was using quite a bit of CPU every few seconds. So all I did was restart my PC.

Then I went back on to my site and tried again, and I noticed the same thing happening again, but I kept missing it because IO wasn't looking at the screen when typing. So I decided to hold down the button F and see it happen, and every few seconds I would notice it stop and then continue. This is the bit where letters were missing. So I opened Notepad and did the same thing, held down the letter F and not once did it stop. This told me it was my website and not the computer.

The next step I took was to disable this product as that was the last change I made to the site, and I removed {vb:raw livenotifications_header} from the header template. Refreshed my site and tested typing a message. Not once did it stop when i was typing. Then to test it further I enabled the product and added the line back in to the header template, refreshed my site and did another test, and it kept stopping every few seconds. So I did the test again and I have copied the results from both tests so you can see what issue i'm facing.

This sentence was typed when the product was disabled and the code removed from the header template:
This is a test of me typing a long sentence and seeing if any of the letters are missing in the words like it was earlier when i have the social notifications 5.0 product installed and enabled.

If you are experiencing any sort of lag, just increase your Ajax interval. All servers are different but the difference in increasing the value by a few seconds, can make a huge different in performance, and this will solve your issue.

To install, uninstall old version, reinstall.

We had a similar editor conflict with another AJAX requests addon. I was immensely annoying for my community. I hired a coder to rewrite the addon. Please make sure that there is no such conflict. Even at lower intervals the issue is way to annoying to leave it be.

If you exclude certain usergroups from seeing/using the mod, and you at the same time have disabled vBulletin notifications, then the exluded users does not see a notification link at the top.

If your subscription runs out you will HAVE to buy an extension or you will be sitting with an outdated product.
If you decide to buy the pro again on a later time then you will be able to upgrade to the latest release.

I do believe this mod is expensive and a $20 increase from what it use to be is...meh..
From the previous track record I think $80 for 3 months of updates is a bit much, where for a while we didn't see development to some of the plugins. 3 months can just go like that in this world :)

that's what I thought and have been trying to do.

From what I can see this is the CSS which controls it -

Having trouble with the current version of vBSocial. Whenever it's enabled on my forum, the entire forum will freeze for a second every few seconds. It's not the browser as the browser itself continues to function. I have confirmed that my users also have this problem.



We had this as well. Increasing the time frame did not help. Reuploaded files, installed and reinstalled fresh several times and still a performance issues over the previous version. Could not use it. 3.0 works flawlessly.

So I had to add the code above the code that I had to add for the implentation of this plugin in header and the code under it in navbar. I guess this occurs because I had to split the code, I can't put all of it in header because some of the things in the navbar template won't function properly if I do so. Nopee, your missing the css for some reason, probably cause its a custom template.

But it seems there's still an issue with the foreign characters displaying in the mod.

Example: 8 hora(s) atr�s > it should be "8 horas atrás" (this is translated to "8 hours ago".)

I have found a fix for my problem (feeling pretty stupid)

When you upload all the files you are only inserting the images into your default theme.
You need to upload the "misc" folder into all your separate theme "misc" folders.

So what I did was -
forum/images/misc (for default theme)
forum/images/yourtheme/misc (to update your custom templates)

You guys are probably all new this but I'm still learning it even after this time.
Anyway thanks for making this plugin I'm definitely gona upgrade it :)

tiny, old gaming forum that is reborn and I combined my 2 off-road sites into it. Not a lot of traffic yet. I consider it still in BETA as I test new mods and customize it to fit our needs. Plan on going live later this fall and watch it grow.

I plan on making the move to vB5 when it is out as well. Lots of customizations will need to be ported/updated though. I'm always up to any challenge though. :D

The code is in navbar, and I added the code:

Tried to install the 6.0 version on my test forum (vB 4.2).
First I completely uninstalled the previous version and installed then 6.0

Didn't get any notifications at all even when somebody sent me a PM nothing happened.
When I click on one of the buttons there is no popup but it gets me straight away to my user CP.
Also one of the buttons has the "array" word next to it (see screenshot)

Any help or suggestions appreciated

Whatever you did from 3.0 to now definetly effects performance on this. I could have v3.0 set at 5 seconds and have zero lag...I get lag on every page load at 30 seconds now.

be sure to uninstall the old notification product first.
I had the array issue as well but uninstalled and installed again and it worked fine.

Just tested the PM and it worked fine. If you do not have arcade and other mods installed, be sure they are not active in the notification options.

This means your images are in the wrong location. Add the images to your misc theme directory :)

Unfortunately, it is not supporting RTL and Arabic language.

Ok got that fixed. I had it manually installed before. I simply reverted my header template to before I had installed it. I enabled "Yes" for template edits via the options and that works.

Now just my CSS is messed up...

Glad you hung in there.

Add the custom css from manual to the top of additional.css and see if it applies.
