Yes, I did change .htacess to .htacessbak to disable it
- then it gives a blank page

- do i change index file to indexbak to disable it so there is not a blank screen

Will it work then?
Why would they put these two files in there?

Google said : General HTTP error: HTTP 403 error (Forbidden)
HTTP Error: 403

There must be a last step not told about. It does create the maps. Says it sent it to google and yahoo (notification), but they can not get to it.

Anyone know last step?

vBSEO stopped existing years ago. The product was allowed to expire and the developer skipped out on paying customers. The product now has known security flaws which are exploited sooner or later. If you have this product installed I recommend you uninstall it ASAP. DBSEO is an alternative although you really don't need an SEO program any longer with Google's latest technology.

vBSEO has been dormant for years and undoubtedly has some major vulnerabilities at this point. You are better off submitting a sitemap to Google Search Console yourself. Once Google starts crawling your forum, it doesn't really need frequent sitemaps anyway. Googlebot will find and follow your internal links to find all the pages it wants to index.

Google indexes pages at its own speed.

If it is already indexing your forum, submitting more sitemaps won't speed up the progress.

How quickly a forum gets indexed depends on how frequently people are posting and how important Google thinks the content of your pages (posts, threads) are to its search queries.
