In regards to bracketstyle.... Could you have a look at binarybeast.com and maybe add the score like they do in the bracket layout? And maybe use hover the same way, so when you point at a team displayed in the bracket it shows there road to the final if they vent that far. Just a nice little feature :-)

I like that bracket layout, and it would be nice also to have that feature of hovering and scores. I would also suggest if possible Bananalive if there could be a color difference from the high seed to the low seed or similar to this bracket as well?

How can I change the crown image to a .png. I would like to use the below image rather then the .gif you have. Attached is image which will be reduced to 20x15. What file do I have to change the .gif to .png?

Edit: I am sorry I should have checked before asking. I have it correct now by editing the .gif to .png in the product file. The .png image looks better and would show better on all different colored forums.

Your forum does not allow guests to see your Tournament/Ladder/League mod. As far as a widget there is a script in the main file called vb4_widgets_cms.html that you can open in browser, and get the code, and add to a cms widget. There are also forum blocks you can create and open vb4_forum_blocks.html to see the different codes you can use.

Your custom style does not follow the regular forum tabs, so
1 . AdminCP -> Competition Settings -> General Settings -> Navbar Link -> No
2. And then add a tab manually
- OR -
1. Edit template tmnt_navbar
2. You probably want to remove everything between <ul class="floatcontainer"> and </ul>

The black text is defined by css class, shade. Edit that css class to grey text for example, "color: #eee;"

1. Edit template tmnt_comment
2. Find <div class="postbithead">
3. Replace with <div class="postbithead" style="width: 80%;">

To edit tournament permissions, you go to AdminCP -> Usergroup Permissions

We just upgraded to vB4.2 and tournaments 5.3.2. After the upgrade all of the links for our Categories are broken (don't navigate anywhere, we click them and they go back to the same page). Do we need to recreate everything or is there a fix for this?

In your vBulletin CP, go to: Settings --> Navigation Manager.

Edit the "#tab_mdu1_245#" and change the name to Competitions or whatever you like and hit save... Then watch the magic happen. :)

Usually vB styles have colors schemes that work well with this script, however, my current style doesn't work with the team member page as far as colors go.

How do I change the backgorund color on the team members tab to match the background on the Recent Matches tab? See attached pic.

I had to downgrade back to v5.3.2 so that we could successfully run the tournaments. Perhaps in the future I will try and upgrade again and see if the issue persists. If it does, I will send the link.

For a tournament that may have many more, is there a way to change this, or is it a limitation of the coding? Really nice system but if the limits are soo small it seems that using an outside bracket system would be better.

Yeah that's what I need to do. Do you know how to up load them or what folder etc. I'm new to this and not sure where I up load them too. I have my FTP user name and what not and use FileZilla but just not sure on how to up load. Wish I had a video or some directions on how to do this.

By the way I am using the newest vB forum 4.2.x I think.

After turning on SEO URL's and rebuilding caches, I seem to have issues accessing team profile pages.

The URL given for a team simply takes you to the Team List page. Even when clicking on Team Names from the

After turning on SEO URL's and rebuilding caches, I seem to have issues accessing team profile pages.

The URL given for a team simply takes you to the Team List page. Even when clicking on Team Names from the
Team List page, it just reloads the same team list page.

Any ideas?

Is that just from the team list or all pages?

Have you edited any of the modifications templates?

Make sure you have uploaded:

bitfield_tournament2008.xml -> \includes\xml\


And then:
AdminCP -> Rebuild -> Rebuild Bitfields

The usergroup settings may be located anywhere on the page, not necessarily at the top

Instead of using the BB code in the tournament section to add different rules, is it possible to make it so when you click on "Rules" it will only be assigned to that tournament or ladder and isn't the overall rules page when you click on it.

This would be awesome addition.

Also, challenge options. When I create challenge options for ladder, it pops up a new screen but I can't scroll down or move the pop up screen because I have a lot of challenges and therefore has cause the screen to become to big.. Any way this can be fixed.

When a match gets disputed is there anyway to have a screen pop up saying match has been disputed and have a support ticket open up for the user to complete and send in with their proof in the ticket. Because a lot of users are forgetting to send in support tickets bc they dont know there match is disputed.

2.) Also anyway to have a private message sent to all Admins of when a match gets disputed and when a support ticket has been created by a user/member so Admins know when to check the support tickets?

3.) Last thing: Any way to design or come up with a LIVE SUPPORT, maybe like a chat system where users/member/teams can go to LIVE SUPPORT, (if online) to get help from admins??

Nope. You would create Ladder 1 January. And then you could create Ladder 1 February the following month. If you then link them together as seasons, you can easily flick between the two ladders, easily. And you also have the option (as admin) to fill your february ladder with all the players from january ladder.

You can create single elimination with upto 512 players. LMS unlimited players. Round robins upto 18 players. Double elimination upto 8 players.

You would need to edit includes/function_tll_brackets.php

I think you're asking for more problems, than it would be worth.
If you have a chatbox, just use that, if you don't have one, just install one on the competitions page.?
Much less maintenance then running a complete separate/extra chatbox, or adding one into this mod.

What do people want from live support?

Basically I would like to use it for when I have multiple tournaments going at the same time, I would want my admins to be on live support so if any team or player has an in game issue or disputed match they can get live support if its "online" otherwise they need to submit a support ticket.

And maybe when the user clicks on the live support they have to quickly fill out some basic information of what they will need help with/ team / tournament / ladder etc. who they are playing and what the issue is.

I just really think having live support so Admins can log on and help users who are in games.. For me it would be really helpful bc i host lots of tournaments at one time and going through each dispute ticket and responding takes a lot of time, this would be faster.

i thought of something else you could possible add, how about an overall ranking system of each user, so if an user plays a lot of matches and wins their rank will move up meaning (moving closer to #1) for example. www.gamebattles.com has an overall ranking system of each user based on their number of wins and loses / xp they get from matches of all kinds of different games, this would be another great add on.

You could use free agents. Players sign up as free agents and are then invited/choose a team.

Apart from the settings in admincp are their any other rules governing how the ladder system functions?

For example this is the rules another community enforce on their system..

you win a defending match you are protected for 2 days (no one will be able to challenge you).
If you win a challenging match you are protected for 12h (no one will be able to challenge you).
If you lose a defending match you are vulnerable for 12h (you will be unable to challenge).
If you lose a challenging match you are vulnerable for 2 days (you will be unable to challenge).
You cannot play the same team twice in a row.
Time given to accept a match: 2 days
Team members required to challenge: 5
Players are allowed to be in 1 team at a time

I do not want tournaments to start automatically when it fills up. I want it to start only when the date/time I set. Since I need to organize things with it. I also want to do a double elimination with teams but I want extra teams to be able to sign up so if some do not check in, then another team can get slotted in.

I do not want tournaments to start automatically when it fills up. I want it to start only when the date/time I set. Since I need to organize things with it. I also want to do a double elimination with teams but I want extra teams to be able to sign up so if some do not check in, then another team can get slotted in.

This is a big deal about the tournament starting automatically.

I like the waiting list idea as well. Especially when you are doing large events teams will drop out it would be nice to be able to add them from the waiting list as they registered.

We have the same problem on my site as well. Once tournaments are full they start, but I do know you can click add slot option on the right side of the tournament to add more teams if you would like.

I was wondering if this can be changed:

When users report their score, Team A reports 2-0 and Team B reports 0-2 it just keeps waiting for the the score to get confirmed. Any way to change this by making it a disputed match, instead?

Most users on my site just keep submitting the score over and over again and don't know that they are to dispute the match.

Is their anyway that you can make it so that once both teams have reported the scores and they don't match up, that the match goes to automatic disputed match!? for example, Team A 2-0, Team B 0-2, therefore the match is disputed and not waiting for teams to confirm / submit scores.

Edit: Then once it goes to disputed it will let user know the match has been disputed etc.

Instead of a live support.. would a chat like this be considered down the line it would make ladders be more active, as it would ease the process of adding challenges.

Also, the sign up as reserve button at the bottom of the page of the tournament when the tournament is full. Can that be moved to the top of the page like the "Join Tournament" button is when still accepting slots? Not everyone will see that little button.

I also have a strange issue where I cannot seem to be able to set a team logo - even though I am the admin. If I create a team, it won't let me set one. Any idea?

Edit: Sorted it - was a custom style issue. Still, I'd like to see the Logo box on the initial team creation page - Doesn't make sense to create the team, then have to edit it to add the logo.

Also - For the Recent Results box - I'd like it to show the result, and a 10px x 10px version of their logo next to the box. With plain text, it looks really boring. I want people to click on it so they want to get invovled.

I will pay for the custom code if need be - please let me know if this is possible.

Nope, but the number of tournaments/ladders/etc. should display on right hand side of category.

If you have no uncategorised tournaments/ladders/leagues, then it should only display categories.

Also, the sign up as reserve button at the bottom of the page of the tournament when the tournament is full. Can that be moved to the top of the page like the "Join Tournament" button is when still accepting slots? Not everyone will see that little button.

Since the latest 5.8.8 update the previous tournament bracket update has changed and no longer shows like it did for 5.3.3 showing the W or L or the scores of the matches. Can this be corrected to once again show the scores and W & L like in 5.3.3 update. That was so nice, and now it looks so bland.

I have also noticed the ladder bracket colors have changed to black. I went into ladder settings and changed to #FFFFFF which is white, and they will not change from black. Can you please check into this. I have deleted cache and cookies to see if browser was stuck and still they are black in color.

If 2 teams are set for a match and neither participate when admin enters score of 0 vs. 0 it should not count as a draw but rather a double loss. Can you have where only draws count if scores are greater then 0 vs. 0 example 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2 etc.. Scores of 0 should be double loss, and recorded as such.

Also I would like to know where in database I can change D for draws to L for losses because as of now there is no option for double losses, and the player has to be edited and remove the draw and give a loss. The D however stays in last match results column.

This. Also i don't want tournament to start automaticly installed. If i tick "hide bracktets..." it doesn't work. Brackets are still created.

Reserves: How do I know which teams are joined under reserves? Again if they join they are automaticly added to bracket,make no sense at all. If they are resrves they should be out of brackets i guess. In case somone drops out of a tournament then they should join tournament bracket.

How does checkin in works? Because i'm unable to check in my test tournament. If i set check in, why i don't have these information posted somewhere under tournament information. Also how des check in work? I don't see any button for checking in.

This mod has a lot of fetures and a lot of potentional but also it has many bugs or lack of common features. Don't get me wrong. I'm not bashing your work, just want to give solid feedback.

Hello banana.
Is it possible to make a group play seperate without the league.

It confuses the users they have to insert matchtimes and so on. I want a seperate group play type with final knockout tourney. Its the same system but just need to different names/categories as group play is not the same as leagues a people gets confused when we use leagues for groupplay :-)

Since the latest 5.8.8 update the previous tournament bracket update has changed and no longer shows like it did for 5.3.3 showing the W or L or the scores of the matches. Can this be corrected to once again show the scores and W & L like in 5.3.3 update. That was so nice, and now it looks so bland.

I have also noticed the ladder bracket colors have changed to black. I went into ladder settings and changed to #FFFFFF which is white, and they will not change from black. Can you please check into this. I have deleted cache and cookies to see if browser was stuck and still they are black in color.

Alright, couple of issues I've noticed since our first big tournament.

It doesn't allow the reserves to check in, then once the tournament starts, it does not allow me to swap them in with those that didn't show up. So currently the reserve system is broken and not working. It should allow them to check in like everyone else, then at the start of the tournament, if someone doesn't show within the core sign in, they get slotted into the bracket when it is generated. I had many upset people that I couldn't slot them in manually.

Also the reporting of who won needs to be more clear on what they need to enter in. They didn't know if they needed to do W/L or 1-0 or what. We also had people submit their results that they won and their opponent didn't submit anything so they wouldn't advance on. So I had to manually advance them. Maybe do a simple radio button on who won and advance the person but then push them back if the other person contests it by saying they won instead. Or even just do a check box on who won, not a text field.

Also, when people comment on the tournament page itself within the comment section. It says there is 2 pages of comments, but then I click on the next page number from the first one, it just refreshes the page and does not take me to the second page of comments.

There is also the issue of names. A persons username on the website is different than in the game. So people don't know who to find when it comes time to compete. So it would be nice to not use their website name and make them enter in a different name, their in game name.

My biggest issue though is the reserves not being allowed in. Would be nice to also have a chat room on the tournament page itself as well, so that way the players can talk to organize the games.

Additional fields allow you to specific more options when creating/editing tournaments/ladders, which are specific to your forum needs.

Is it possible that in knockout stages or leagues etc that they enter there own scores, both parties have to enter the score, either the manager from the team or individual in head to head etc, currently as stated above its just advance someone to the next stage.

Admincp -> Tournament Settings -> Tournaments User HTML (including username)

I had it set to 4pm Central, I just double checked and it is set to 4pm and my account is set to central time zone but the tournament says it starts at 11am.

I know it was a request to be able to state what place they finished in. I know tournaments a winner moves to next round based on a win. In race what would be the need for someone to state 4th place when then they would not move forward unless 1st place. I can see losers stating there place which I would think would be 2nd place for races.

Also I want to ask which was already asked I think I page 115 about increasing the amount from 8 to maybe 16 for double elimination tournaments. Why limit to 8? Is this to prevent blowing out the brackets?

Its a league request really, But it can be used as a tournament also i dare say

So basically say 5 people race over 5 circuits

First = 10 points
2nd = 8 points
3rd = 6 points
4th = 4 points
5th = 2 points

Player A finishes say 1st, 2nd, 1st, 3rd and 4th for last map
He would end up with a total of 38 points

Player B finishes say 3rd, 4th, 4th, 5th and 3rd for last map
He would end up with a total of 22 points

And so on so we would end up with all 5 players with the table placing the highest in first,etc,etcJust like formula 1 racing
This could be used the exact same for Free For All in say 5 week leagues on games

Race tournaments is effectively like a reverse LMS.

The double elimination algorithm only supports 8 players.
