@BananaLive - I wonder if you could tell me if there is a query I could place for how many tournaments (total) and how many teams (total) there are within the tournament section, I'm creating a stat bar and would like it to show how many teams we have and how many tournaments are running (past and present) which will automatically update due to the proper queries being called.

Thank you for creating and supporting this mod! I have installed the mod and am trying it out with a beta group of forum members. The main thing that is keeping me from rolling out contests to the community is that we can't find a way for moderators to pick winners for players/teams in single elimination tournies. Right now the system relies on the loser "submitting a loss".

Am I missing something obvious? Do mods have the ability to mark winners and losers? Is this an available premium feature (I would go premium if this is the case). Thank you!

Is there not a progress button on your tournament bracket? Next to each members name you should have an arrow to progress them to the next round.

Also make sure that the group has been given the correct permissions in usergroups.

No, I do not see any arrows next to names. I double checked the Upload files and I do not think any have been missed. Here is what my test tourney looks like:

How many competitions are there to transfer? Which part are you keenest to transfer across? I havent used eliteladders before so i'm not really sure how it is structured.

I have a few questions about leagues that I can not seem to find the answer for.

1) What is race mode and what does it mean by race mode for rounds.

2) When you go to upcoming matches on the league all matches shows all matches for one group then the next (even when all groups is selected) instead of showing all upcoming matches round by round. This is a problem for teams and viewers looking to see what match is next when it defaults to this instead of in order by rounds. Example: http://puu.sh/2VWve.png

I have a very important request. Your script is fantastic , but i think is missing a very important key on the ladders, specially for those like me that have a shooter competitive site.

When a admin add a ladders, we add a list of maps and game modes

Lets say im player Y ,when i create a challenge on the match finder, lets say i post a game with 3 rounds. When Player Y goes to the match finder and clicks on my match and accepts the mach the system will detect automatically that player X choose the option of 3rounds and will select from the maps and game modes that the admin added on the database 3 random maps and 3 random game modes and will be posted on the match details, so player X and Y can play . This way ,

For example, once the system chooses the random maps and game types

Round 1
Map Summit
Gamemode Hardpoint

Round 2
Map Hardhat
Gamemode Seach and Destroy

Round 3
Map intervention
Gamemode Capture the Flag

This way players don't have a choice of choosing the gamemode and maps they want to play. everything will be ramdom so there is no advantage to ether player .

I installed the files via filezilla, and that seemed to go successfully. I, however, run into a problem when trying to upload the xml file. I run into the following error :

1. When the calendar is not hidden in the settings, it boots our PvP staff directly to the calendar when going to competitions.php. I had to "hide" the calendar to get around this.

2. When creating a new ladder, there is no option to categorize it until after it's saved and "edited".
3. Sidebar links for ladders, leagues and KOTH do not display the items if they are categorized.

It will work fine. The error is just from strict php/html.

If you open up includes/functions_tll_brackets.php and find line 60:

$hd_height = 40;

This is the pixel height of the header you are referring to.

I'm having the same issue as JacquiiDesigns a couple posts above. I have a newly upgraded vb4.2.2, after creating a category and going to the Ladder or League page for that category I get the below PHP warning:
Warning: Only variables should be passed by reference in ..../ladders.php on line 3622
I've also been unable to get the banner to load. I've tried setting just the URL (http://www.example.com/image.jpg) and HTML like so:
<img src="http://www.example.com/image.jpg" />
but nothing works, it just posts it as plain text on the page.

I've gone through all of the settings in admincp and don't see anything related to either issue. Am I missing something? Any help is much appreciated. I'll keep trying to determine the issue.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm not sure if I'm being limited to a template or not as I only have the option for my installed template and the mobile, which just loads a white page with the PHP warnings. I'm not sure if this is caused by this issue or not.

PHP5.4 changed error reporting a little. VB used to only report errors and not warnings, the way PHP error reporting changed now all warnings are reported. There's an option buried in the options for VB4.2.2 to enable PHP compatibility mode. Do that and everything works again. You can check out the post on the vbulletin.com forum (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-4/vbulletin-4-questions-problems-and-troubleshooting/4000411-common-issues-4-2-2) for more info. I want to thank bananalive for helping me troubleshoot and attempt to patch the issue. If I'd done some reading on the official forums sooner I'd have seen it was an issue with VB and not the mod.

I have a question for Banana... as I did a bit of searching and couldn't really seem to find the answer.

I'm attempting to create a league for a specific online video-game, in which the game would be played similar to a football season. Teams would be separated into specific divisions, a regular season of a determined amount of games would be played, and than it would lead into a playoff bracket. Is this possible with this script?

I'd also like to know how to remove Bye Players, that the bracket is only for players who are registered and no add Bye Players.

For example if a tournament is 128 players and only recorded 91 players, the bracket becomes a tournament of 100 players and has only 9 "Bye Player" and not 37.

The tournament system only works with teams/players in a 4,8,16,32,64 or 128

This is due to how each players progresses to the next round and in order for the tournament to work

You can randomly let the event organise the 'Bye' players or do it yourself like other events where the better teams/players miss round 1 and the lesss known/skilled teams/players play round 1

Its better to let the system do it automatically as then you can not be accused of fixing the brackets

ALL tournaments ive seen or played in are done manually do to the seeding being messed up

You could have a seed 4 team drop a player for someone else, Then how do you know if that team is still as good and deserves seed 4 ?

I tried to look at this on your site but you appear to have it locked down. Without seeing exactly how your theme's CSS is laid out I can't be sure this will work. If you still need help try this:

1. Buttons - {vb:raw headers_link_color}
2. User Info - {vb:stylevar sidebar_header_color}

I can't help you with the one at the bottom as I don't have that on mine to look at the source.

EDIT: I just want to add that I'm by no means a VB expert. This may not be the proper way to do this but I know my way around CSS well enough. This just happens to be how my theme loads the colors.

It allows you to roll-forward players to next season. Keeps their grouping too.

Also shows allows users to quickly switch between seasons.

I think this has to do with the PHP version you are using. I tried to use PHP 5.4 and got these errors. They went away when I downgraded back to PHP 5.2.

I updated the the newest version of premium 6.6.0, with the new tournament, and when trying to create a new tournament, the bottom that says create new tournament disappears! I posted a image below so you can see, when i go to the final step of the Tournament , the bottom goes away..

Im using Firefox, but i also tested it on chrome and also internet explorer.

I have putted all the files in upload into the wwwroot/core and later on deleted all the files(0 overwrites) and putted the files in wwwroot itself(again 0 overwrites) both times I tried to add the product by uploading the product-tournament2008.xml file in product area in admincp.

Then I got this error both times:

When I go back to the admincp the mod is halfway loaded, it only shows stuff like *[tll_group]* and *[tll_general]* but all the pages are empty/not working. Also it doesn't show up in products to edit/uninstal it.

PHP5.4 changed error reporting a little. VB used to only report errors and not warnings, the way PHP error reporting changed now all warnings are reported. There's an option buried in the options for VB4.2.2 to enable PHP compatibility mode. Do that and everything works again. You can check out the post on the vbulletin.com forum (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-4/vbulletin-4-questions-problems-and-troubleshooting/4000411-common-issues-4-2-2) for more info.

Installing finally worked but now I have another huge problem. When I set server to php 5.4 every page in competition tab gives me at least 5 to 10 php errors. Setting back to 5.3 fixed those but now a new error occurs.

This only happens once a account has played a match or at least reported a match(haven't tried with a team game yet to see if other 4 accounts also get affected). The following error then suddenly appears on the top of the screen on every single page.

The things I tried on google (edit config.php with an extra line and delete unserialize from class bootstrap both didn't work.

This is not the only thing that happens, suddenly lots of things/texts start to overlap. On my home page for the forums I have 2 plugins for shoutbox and donate bar. Installing finally worked but now I have another huge problem. When I set server to php 5.4 every page in competition tab gives me at least 5 to 10 php errors. Setting back to 5.3 fixed those but now a new error occurs.

This only happens once a account has played a match or at least reported a match(haven't tried with a team game yet to see if other 4 accounts also get affected). The following error then suddenly appears on the top of the screen on every single page.

The things I tried on google (edit config.php with an extra line and delete unserialize from class bootstrap both didn't work.

The error messages at the top displace the contents of the page - once the error messages at the top are fixed then the page will display properly.

However another question, is it possible that matches played in tournaments are ranked for the ladder? I know the winner can get automatic ELO points (maybe also add it first 2nd/3rd? well that can be done by hand anyway).

Also the weekly tournament I am planning on hosting is something in the lines of this:

All week long every team in the ladder can sign up for it, then on Saturday it starts! However their is no set time the match has to be played! They have 24 or 48 hours to agree on a time to play. For example if 64 teams sign up the first rounds must be played 24 hours (Sunday) after it started. Then ro 32 before 48 hours (Tuesday) Ro16 24 hours again (Wednesday), ro8 24 hours later before Thursday is over. Then the semi final and final are on set times on Friday (perhaps ro3).

Teams are allowed to play up to ro4 even on the first day, so no restrictions are in place there, as long as the other match up has also finished and you have a new opponent you are good to go! (However maybe others who like this system might want restrictions to this)

Now the problem/request, it is hard to know what team should progress if they can't seem to find a date. As far as I know the matches aren't counted as matches and have a complete different system. So beside ranking they also don't have a match comment section. Perhaps the matches can be turned into little ladders. So that they can use that matchmaking system, also store what team was ready at what time. That way you can see team A was set ready for 3,5 hours during those 24 hours and team B for 2 hours. However those times didn't collapse, but still you have a solid ground to advance team A.

Now another question, can I set a match as like not played and disqualify both teams in the tournament?

I am willing to pay for such system obviously, perhaps even a initial cost. However the website isn't live yet and hoping on doing this purchase on donations to make the system easier. It seems like copying systems from 1 to another, however contact me with what you think if it can be made/how long it takes and what the price will be.

vbulletin has maximum field size for that, for additional page names you need to edit plugin 'Tournament and Ladder Tab'

disabling this product made teams.php/tournaments.php etc. show the subnavbar again. However for my chatbox this is not the case.

By adding it to tab scripts it does only show Teams, Help, Rules, and itself Full Screen Chat so ladders/tournaments/new are missing.

I have the premium version installed but haven't heard back from the developer yet so I'm hoping someone can point me in the correct direction. I have a strange issue with pagination links below the ladder including the script name twice and breaking the links. Instead of:
/ladders.php?l10-name&page=2
I get:

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to resolve it? It only seems to affect the ladder pagination links.

Very random issue started happening to me last night, profiles went on the blink and I couldn't figure out what was wrong, database error emails were piling up but I couldn't access them as they were 24mb for each email and freezing my email. Anyway finally accessed the error which is related to the competitions module and profiles.

I get the following error, mind this is chopped as its 24mb worth of text I'm receiving through email seems just an infinite wall of text.

Is there a way for league Manager or a super admin to report matches played on the league ?

Is there a way to set specific time for each game that will be played on the league each round. If not could be a good feature because for example if you see the image below, you can see how all matches in round 1 of the league are at the same time due to only 1 time and day can be set for the each round but sometime each team plays multiple times on each round. it created confusion when you have 3 matches in round one and all of them are schedule for 10PM.

After testing the league many times due to this error i keep getting i found that this error only shows if I try to go back into the league settings, for example. IF i create a league and start the league , add members or teams i never get this error, but if i try to go inside the edit league and change anything and save it i get all those error below.

You advise me to turn off php error reporting because im using php 5.4 but still can figure out how to turn it off. Please help if possible . Thanks

Is there a way to set specific time for each game that will be played on the league each round. If not could be a good feature because for example if you see the image below, you can see how all matches in round 1 of the league are at the same time due to only 1 time and day can be set for the each round but sometime each team plays multiple times on each round. it created confusion when you have 3 matches in round one and all of them are schedule for 10PM.

I'm trying to add a Steam block to the free agent page. I have a profile field for the Steam community id. I have a plugin started to output the profile field but it requires the free agent's userid. I see in the tmnt_freeagent template that there is $agent['userid']. Does anyone know how to use this in a plugin to load the agentid? Here's the rough code I have worked up but I don't know if any of it is correct. Any pointers would be appreciated.

My question is, can I set a specific style for competitions.php and all pages of the plugin?

I tried the adding a plugin and hook method but that created a fatal memory error.

Was curious if you have any suggestions to force a specific style ID for it?

Do you think adjusting the amount of players/teams that play in a tournament is adjustable(in the future). For example there are games that are 1v1v1v1, ladder would be hard(not impossible) since you need 4 people to accept the same challenge.

However even only for tournaments it would be great. Now I do the 4 that are in 1 "Bunble" play together but would be more professional if they can be in the same bracket.

Ah, I think you're having exactly the same problem I am. Manually replacing &amp; with & fixes it for me. Just need the system to send the correct link in the first place!

The only thing I can think of is to make sure template tmnt_inviteteam uses

1, The 'Year' on create tournament date has capped to 2014. Am I doing something wrong on installing or Can I fix it somewhere?

Prize competition aren't classified as gambling. A prize competition is a competition where success depends to a substantial degree on the exercise of skill, knowledge, or judgment.
Gambling is where there is a significant reliance on chance.

This only seems to cause an issue in Lite version, but this should hopefully fix it:

That's a bandaid fix and doesn't really address the underlying problem. I would guess that the it really means there's an error in the link being generated in the PM. Fix the link and you don't need to change any code.

A bug in your code that prevents access to the member profile pages.

In the file includes/functions_tal.php you have the following code:

If the tournament mod isn't active then memberinfo.php is not accessible to non-admins. The code should be changed by having the second if statement nested inside the first, so the tournament mod active check only executes on tournament mod specific pages.

This way if you are on a tournament specific page and the tournament mod is disabled you won't be able to access it unless you are an admin. This also makes sure that the member profile page (since includes/functions_tal.php is included in the User Profile Tab (member_complete hook) plugin is accessible even if the tournament mod is inactive.

Try changing line 88 in /teams.php
