How do you add categories?

I didn't quite understand what errors you were getting from your posts. The first, the last or both? If it's the last, it might have just been a YouTube issue. Haven't really used this in a while, but it was working fine on 3.8.x. Haven't tried it on .7.

I am getting this error after posting the url from youtube into the url spot. I hit load information and get this error.

Yes - The mod is a bit buggy... And I've found no other way to remedy except to disable the app. Once disabled - edit your bbcode then re-enable.

Perhaps someone else knows of a fix....?

I know this one isn't supported any more, but I found that this add-on is conflicting with one I just installed. I was told by that developer:
Additionally, the "Cannot redeclare handle_bbcode_video()" function is not an error with vBShout, it's with the [VIDEO] mod you have installed.
You need to contact the author of that mod and tell them this:
You need to wrap the handle_bbcode_video() function declaration in a if (!function_exists('handle_bbcode_video')) check.
Any idea where this would be in the Video Directory code?

Once I disabled Video Directory, the error went away, so I'm sure this is the add-on with the problem.

So i got this db error today, & im wondering if what i think is the issue is correct. :)

Currently i am using this mod but at media.php So this error is not from it, but was the old version not uninstalled correctly.? (i'm guessing it was called video.php)

the issue I have noticed is that the URL for loading videos for example in youtube is https and not http. I removed the s and it works just fine. Need a work around for the https url line.

Use the Firefox plug: "Firebug", using this, you will find all the page variables and search it in the templates,, 4ex: You must find the widht of the video thumnails in the templates,, put the number and them you will fin the template to edit it.

looks like youtube switched it up again.. at one point we had to use the URL from the Share button for vids to show... now you have to use the full URL from the address bar.

Hi Guys, I recently had to move to a new server that only runs PHP 5.3.8, so I had to upgrade by VBulletin so it would be compatible.

The video-directory is appearing but with some errors. I think related to the header, so it's also not dropping cookies, I believe.

Could this be related to the fact I am not yet running the DNS for my domain name on the new server? I have instead changed the locahost file on my machine during testing.

Open your init.php file with an editor like notepad++, (make a backup of it first), then go to all of those line numbers in your message above and look for this "=&" and delete just the "&" on all of those lines, then save and re-upload the file.

Thanks. Do you know why this happens?

Anyway, I made the change to the first line 55 to see if it would skip over that error. It ended up skipping all of them and showing this new one. Nothing is working now.

So I actually went back and uploaded the backup file just to see if would go back to original errors. No, it now skips all errors and just keeps showing the one above.

Not sure what that error means, sorry, when I changed all of the "=&" in my file it solved my problem for me, it's been working fine ever since.

Every time I add a video and choose the add video to a new thread, the new thread says VIDEO DOES NOT EXIST.

It does but, you have to remove the s from Https:// but then again the vid thumbnails fail to show also.

It's not the 's' thing this time. I knew about that one. I am getting a different error. Someone said something on the Vb4 forums about youtube changing their API and probably broke this addon. The new error is: The response of the video-server can't be read.

Google changed the API. Instead of:

http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos/<id of video>

it is now:

https://www.googleapis.com/youtube/v3/videos?part=snippet&key=<your-key>&id=<id of video>

and it returns a differently formatted response. I am unsure how to fix this myself. If anyone has more knowledge of this mod than I do, please post an answer here.

Yeah - sorry. I can see all the videos that I've added.
I do get an error when adding new videos though.

Either:
The response of the video-server can't be read.

Or:
The url is invalid.

This is working for the most part, the gentleman that worked on this for us is looking into a few issues I mentioned and will email me when he is finished.
This is loaded on my site, feel free to register and test how it is working now, but be ready to add video title and description for it to work... oh and you can now use https or http://.

Thank you to AliMadkour for fixing this issue for me so I could share it with you, so you can continue to use it.
The includes/videoserviceapi/class_youtube.php has been re-written to show videos and thumbs in you video directory. Works great.

This now works just as it did the day I installed it years ago.

With this fix, you will need to get a youtube API and add the the api number to the class_youtube.php as per readme.

Enjoy!

EDIT: Duration has been corrected, time will now show on video thumb.
Don't forget to add your API code before overwriting.

FYI: Tags is not supported in API 3 version. And the duration format changed also so for now, you will see "???" below the video thumbnail for duration, AliMadkour is looking into a fix for this and will email me when and if a fix is found.

Absolutely, when this broke when youtube changed things i massacred my site lol.

There is another little bug I noticed when outputting the creation of a video page to a forum. There seems to be a random <object> tag that appears just before the "Video:" area of that post. I am not sure if thats only with my forum or if its on a random template but I can't locate it in any of my style sheets or the plugins.

Does this do it for you? It causes almost the entire Blockquote from the youtube info to be clickable and therefore if clicked leads to an error page load.

That new object tag does not appear in any of my old posts before the fix. So I assume its related to the data on the php file somewhere.

Nope, I don't have that issues at all.
We know the tags no longer work with api3, waiting on duration fix.
Video comments have never worked properly.
I may comment out the comment code and set it to automatically post the video in a thread without needing to check a box to make it happen.

By the way, if you want to have the box automatically checked in the "Do you wish to automatically create a thread in the "Videos" forum related to this video?" section just above Add video edit the following template.

Styles and Templates/Search in Templates/Search for video_add/ select yes/Find..

In the video_add template search for:

<td><input type="checkbox" class="bginput" id="newthread" name="newthread" value="1" tabindex="1" />&nbsp;</td>

Replace with:

<td><input type="checkbox" class="bginput" id="newthread" name="newthread" value="1" tabindex="1" accesskey="c" checked="checked" />&nbsp;</td>

I highlighted the added code in red to show changes.
