This is badly needed I think! I am going to wait until it is tested a bit because I am running 3.7 RC3 on a live board as it is but I can't wait to use this mod!

I am just in the middle of taking screenshots.
With regards to vBulletin 3.6.8 PL2, I believe it should work, although I have not tested.

Are you planning on removing the requirement to register to view the demo?
Very useful mod!
Do you have to register to submit a ticket? Is it possible to let guests submit tickets and requiring them to input capture and email address (twice, to avoid typos). Some people might have problems with registration, so allowing guests to submit tickets would be helpful.

I dont understand what you mean Kurtz, do you mean can other users reply to tickets rather just admin usergroup?
Under usergroup options you are able to define who can manage tickets, if allowed, any usergroup can manage tickets.

Thank you for this mod! Its a lifesaver! Up until now ive been using a shabby 3rd party script.
One problem ive got is I cant see the text in the Navigation or Administration section. Ive attached a screenshot.
Which template will I need to edit to change this?

The template is HCENTER_SHELL, I believe it is something to do with the style you are using.
Might just be a case of changing the id field of the links.

I am just guessing here because I cant replicate the bug, but in the HCENTER_SHELL template find class="$navclass[mytickets]" and remove it and see if the link appears?
Only do it for one link and test it, then you can update the rest if it works.

I gave that a try but it didnt work. I did however change $navclass[mytickets] to vbmenu_option and it now shows up a treat :)

It's made for 3.7, however it may work with 3.6 -- not counting on it. The best thing you can do, is try it on a test board running 3.6 and report back and let us know the outcome. :)

I really wish you would be patient, and as Jason said, stop posting post after post about the same thing. To avoid confusion, I have removed the secondary helpcenter file for you.
Does it work for: vb3.6.x ?
There is no real reason why this modification should not work with 3.6, although it has not been tested. Feel free to test and report back.

Here is my screen Shot.
All I did was add the plug-in and add the appropriate permissions. When I click the Add ticket button...I get the title "Social Group" in the title field by default.
I just deleted the install and reinstalled it and got the same thing.

You need to force a title, because at this point you can create a ticket without one.
You should display what departtment a ticket is under "unresolved tickets"
Make unresolved tickets and resolved tickets viewable to the public so you don't have a bunch of duplicates.

It is freaking annoying. This is beta software and you should not use it on a live site. Therefore there is no need to rush things, especially not by posting every 3 minutes, private messaging other users and even contacting the developer on msn! This is just rude of you.
I have never ever ignored any user on any site till now, but I am about to use it to stop seeing your annoying posts.

There you can test drive the mod and see what features the mod has. If you find any bugs on the development demo, you can post them in this thread, so that they can be fixed.
I advise you not to install this mod on your site yet. There seem to be too many bugs and you make the impression of being too inexperienced to handle it. Let more experienced users bug test on their own sites until this mod is classified as stable.

As the desciption says, this is beta software. Unfortunately it will be buggy. However, we working as fast as we can to fix the bugs. Were releasing beta 3 later this evening, which fixes a lot of bugs reported, and some new features -- such as the WYSIWYG editor. Please remember, we cannot add every feature, since there will be a paid version, with more features. ;)
On the dev board, we haven't run into any problems with beta 3 -- however, as you and I both know, bugs can just popup. I suggest you all wait for beta 3 later this evening.

I must ask that for this release you uninstall any previous installations and do a clean install with this release. The reason being that this version has had a total database restructure.

im about to check it out now. i am VERY excited about this, cuz i have asked OVER and OVER and OVER again for some1 to please make this since the 1 fell off in the 3.0 days, i dont remember which one it was, but we havent had one in a while that works with the forum....my goal is to have my users use a ticket system instead of posting problems with the site in threads in my problem forum...so ya im diggin this one. hoping it works the way i would like it to :)
if i think of ideas, be ready cuz i might come up with a sh!tstorm of em to add onto this thing.

Don't see the point in that. You only need to click either "Open Tickets" or "Closed Tickets" -- it really isn't that hard. :)

Thanks for all your had work. I just updated a fresh install and I am STILL getting the "Social Groups" in the title field by default when I create (add) a ticket.

This is what is conflicting with the title field. The reason I know this is I just added a new announcement with this product and it was called "Articles". Now the title field defaults to "Articles" instead of "Social Groups".
Just thought it might help with my issue.

Sorry Macc, im afraid I dont understand. With regards to cannot delete a ticket, are you sure you have set the correct Usergroup Permissions?

With regards to deleting a ticket, if you have set the usergroup permissions correctly then when you view a ticket, under the Ticket Options menu, select Delete Ticket.

Mac, you need to set the permissions in your ACP:
ACP --> Usergroups --> Usergroup Manager --> Your usergroup (GO) --> HelpCenter Usergroup Permissions
If that doesn't work, try re-uploading all files (overwriting the ones on your sever already) and re-importing the product. Just uninstall the product you have in, before re-importing.
If it's still the same, then you may have a conflicting hack/mod. Therefore, I would like you to disable the plugin/hook system, and see if the problem persists. Edit config.php and add this line right under <?php
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
Do you still have the same problem?

that is some conflict..because i get in title box for helpcenter - bolded name of one of names in notices from another hack ... and can not delete tickets ...come not up in menu -delete !

It seems when you're using that hack, and go for a create a ticket in HelpCenter, it gives the title of whatever you did last with that hack. At least that is what has been reported.
Any way to attach an image in a ticket, just in case a member wants to post an image of a problem?

I have no idea at the moment why this error is being caused and I have taken a total stab in the dark in the hope that it will sort it out.
Anyway, I ask that everyone else downloads the original helpcenter file and not the files meant for SuperDave and Macc.

Macc I have just received your PM and logged into your website with the details given and was able to see the Delete Link from the Drop down menu Ticket Options.

You are free to modify the code. However, we cannot support modified code. Once HelpCenter lite goes 'stable', we will open a hacks/mods forum -- where members can post their modfications for HelpCenter. :)

That is for the admin. The paid version will have a notification system for users; similar to vBulletin's.

When viewing the ticket reply window in IE I notice that the reply window is not fully open. In firefox it is fine.

It definitely isn't that small on our dev board. Do you have ads down FORUMHOME? Is your forums width shortened in anyway?
no adds in forumhome ...and can just say that in firefox is ok (just what fxlr8 wrote before...)mean message box.. but in IE is so small!

We haven't decided a price, yet. Once we release a 'stable', gold release of the lite version, we will get to work on the paid version. I have to balance my developing at the moment (other hacks and the paulsonny.com website), but HelpCenter paid version has my full priority.
We have decided some features, such as: Attachments, flagging to other department or person, ect. I think we will have some beta testers for it, however it will be encoded to stop functioning at a certain date.
superdave i ask same before...i have not updated yet ..have "our" version...

Yes, this happens in Internet Explorer 7 for guests. We will see what can be done to correct this.
i updated and now is replay message box ok (was before update also ok.. maybe jase2 done something ...!

Try the attached product. Remember to uninstall your previous one, before importing this. Although I don't think it will work, as they should both be the same. Are re-upload all files (overwriting the ones on your server) ?

But that was fixed in beta 3. I may sound like I'm repeating myself, but are you uninstalling the old .xml and not doing an overwrite? This simply isn't happening for me; although I don't have the time to go over the product - as I've got too go.

It seems when you're using that hack, and go for a create a ticket in HelpCenter, it gives the title of whatever you did last with that hack. At least that is what has been reported.
Hm... That is definitely an odd conflict. Do you have any more details? Code, tables... etc.

Most bugs have been fixed. Although there are still one or two things we need to do, as well as to fix a few bugs. I don't recommend having this installed on a production site; you can if you want, but we cannot be held responsible for problems that may arise. I suggest you wait for a 'stable', gold release, or at the very least a release candidate.

Sorry about not replying sooner guys, I have had some problems with my ISP.
DSSCrazy, can you please confirm you are running vBulletin 3.7? Just the install code for HelpCenter relies on a fieldname only available in 3.7.
If you are running 3.7, then can you please confirm that before you import the product, you have already uninstalled the previous installation, and have not just overwritten the product, if you are still having trouble after this, send me a PM with your msn address and I will try my best to help.
As it says in the original post, for Beta 4 to function properly, you have to uninstall any previous versions and re-install Beta 4, almost like a new installation.
Macc & Superdave, I would recommend upgrading to the latest version. The seperate files I created for you both were to just confirm it worked before I went ahead and edited the original code. After you confirmed it work I went ahead and updated the original code and fixed/added one or two extra things so I would recommend upgrading.
With regards to the notification system via the Admin CP, that is still yet to be implemented, working on it in the next release. I originally planned to put it in sooner but time got away from me.
With regards to the paid version, features, prices and such things nothing has been decided, once information is available, I shall let you know.

Im getting this error to and it seems like ZomgStuff said the mod diddint add a table and that makes the error.
I think thoose 2 querys are the problem of the error:
$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE `" . TABLE_PREFIX . "usergroup` ADD `ugphelpcenter` INT( 10 ) UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '0' AFTER `socialgrouppermissions`");
and
$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE `" . TABLE_PREFIX . "usergroup` DROP `ugphelpcenter`");
I cant find that ugphelpcenter in my usergroup table so i think thats the problem.
And if you check the error log then it says this:
MySQL Error : Unknown column 'ugphelpcenter' in 'field list'
So i think thats the whole problem.
Well i dont know much about mysql so could you guys post the manual query commands so we can manual add thoose querys because i dont know how to run thoose querys :)

Ok i fixt the problem my self and i think it will help you to DssCrazy.
Go to phpmyadmin and run this query:
ALTER TABLE `usergroup` ADD `ugphelpcenter` INT( 10 ) UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '0' AFTER `forumpermissions`
Now try to update the usergoups in the vbulletin admin panel again.
If its right then it will just update the info now without showing a error :)

Like i said in my other post i got the same error as him and im also running 3.6.8 level 2.
I run the query i posted and everything worked fine after that.
So its running perfect on a 3.6.8 level 2 forum.

As Paul has already mentioned too you, the code relies on a fieldname that is only available in 3.7. This is in the 3.7 forum, so unless you're running 3.7 -- you shouldn't be using this.

Actually ,, i did the same thing but not with the same way .. i used the phpmyadmin , and it gave me a good result ..
so i think the problem is from the copy of helpcenter.php that i got .

Paul is setting up the members area, where you will be able to download our software. Once HelpCenter goes gold, we'll start work on the 'paid version. Also, we will open a hacks/modfications forum, where members can submit their hacks/mods for HelpCenter. However, we will not be able to support modified code, in the event something goes wrong.

It seems you are trying to use the package above on a vBulletin 3.6 Installation, when it is meant for 3.7.
I may suggest uninstalling and reinstalling with the 3.6 version.

Seems when I started another project I wasnt as careful as I thought I was and it mucked up a lot of phrases. (Transferred them to another product) Meaning the phrases did not export within the product.
Anyway, I'm not entirely sure whether I have caught all the phrases, so if anyone would be willing to try this product and tell if any further phrases are still missing and I will do my best to get everything back to normal.

Thanks, that seems to have fixed most of them, but I found a couple;
ADMIN CP > HelpCenter> Department Management > Add New Department/Edit > Update returns Can not find phrase helpcenter_acp_redirect. It still works fine though.
Additionally, ADMIN CP > Usergroups > Usergroups manager > Edit user Group X
Can Manage Tickets
*BLANK*
Can Close Any Ticket
EDIT:
Also, when adding a new ticket, there is no Priority before the : Low/Medium/High.
EDIT 2:
I also now get a db error when I try to create a new ticket. it says the table helpcenter_department doesn't exist, it does. I have prefixes on my tables, so maybe that's causing the issue. Also, when I deleted all my departments, there is still a blank drop down box when adding a new ticket

The phrases are fixed, but the DB error is still occurring for me.
I uninstalled the old product and checked the tables were dropped, they were. I installed the new product and the tables are back, but it still comes up saying it doesn't exist. The table it says doesn't exist, doesn't exist, as it doesn't have the prefix I've assigned it (it's databasename.helpcenter_department instead of databasename.prefix_helpcenter_department). If anyone else with table prefixes could post saying if they're getting errors too, or even if it's working for them that would help.

In ACP > HelpCenter Main Settings I do not see any options to set up any departments. Maybe some place else?

I will sort the HelpCenter table phrase when I get home, with regards to the "MySQL Error : Unknown column 'threadnum' in 'field list'" I think there is something wrong within the product file for altering the table.
I will update the product so that it creates the table with the new field name, but it may mean everyone has to uninstall and re-install to get it working correctly.
If anyone could have a look at the product file and check the SQL Query (version 0.5) then i'd be grateful.

paul that error is only duplicating itself on upgrade. i tested it on 2 forums. must uninstall and reinstall mod to not have errory.

I figured out the DB error. The problem occurred with reading the table, rather than creating it, so the problem wasn't in the product file. Once I realised that I stopped looking in the wrong place and had a quick look in helpcenter.php. I figured out the error, and managed to fix it myself :D. If anyone else has prefixes on their SQL tables then do the following in helpcenter.php
SEARCH FOR;
$departmenttitle = $vbulletin->db->query_read("SELECT department FROM helpcenter_department WHERE departmentid = '" . intval($_REQUEST['departmentid']) . "'");
REPLACE WITH;
$departmenttitle = $vbulletin->db->query_read("SELECT department FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "helpcenter_department WHERE departmentid = '" . intval($_REQUEST['departmentid']) . "'");
...or just wait for Paul to update the zip :).
