I modified this mod to have more details in the front donation page more like what bills paypal donation has. Makes it more appealing and can add info text to people. I think it is a must add on for this mod please look at bill paypal mod and include some of it.

Go to phrase manager, find phrase "cybpaypal_note" and change it's content to anything you want. This will be shown above donate options. BB codes are enabled so you can add images, do some text formatting etc...

No HTML though right only forum based bb. So I cant add tables and areas. Just add to the one you have?

I added to your xml file the template addons I wanted and it works perfect. I do have a question though. I have had over 50 people test this donation out with real donations. Now about 5 of them didn't go through any ideas? It is random has nothing to do with how they paid via paypal or CC. Just some don't work. It does NOT charge the person and it does not show on my side. Now I know if you leave without following the whole process it sends notices etc but I am talking about after they have gone completely through and been reverted back. I am trying to get more details on the people that this is happening too. Cause they turn around and do the same thing they did the first time and it works. It is just random and have about 1 a day that this happens too. Also any integration with paypal as far as auto seeing if we got the money and auto confirming etc. I know there is a mod that does that on phpbb.

Also on a side note:
The donation bar mod can you integrate this with yours. It is a nice addon but his mod you have to manually put in the amount for it to divide by or cash received. Is it possible for it to just grab your confirmed amount in your mod. I was messing with it to see an EASY way to do it and having few issues. I can make it work but not the way it should work seamlessly.

ALSO HAVE TO SAY YOUR MODS ROCK AND HAVE OVER 10 of them! Really appreciate your help and mods more then you know.

It won't show as a colored link like the $cyb_paypal_donate_link variable will (I don't know how to get it to do that w/ a simple link...just use html??), but at least it appears in both places now.

Same case here Cyb. I get to the page/link (.../misc.php?merchant_return_link=Return+to+Merchant) everytime I click on Return to Merchant on Paypal and all I get are all the smilies on display.

This must be generated by PayPal, but I'm not sure why.

Hack asks PayPal to redirect user to "/misc.php?do=donate_thanks" once payment is complete.

I'll check this when I have some time.

Not sure what I am doing wrong, I have installed everything working fine, except, I have made a new Usergroup VIP Membership, and put the correct usergroup number in but following donation I have to move them manually as they don't changed groups automatically.

Go to your admin cp and look in global phrases for cybpaypal_donate change the font color to what you wish.

I nevertheless have a little problem in the PM and donation list where "d-m-y" is displayed instead of the date.
I run vbulletin in french and the dates are correctly displayed anywhere else.
Did I miss something?
I also noticed that almost all french users got this error on their forums using this hack...

You can simply replace:

with:
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="misc.php?do=donate" accesskey="5">$vbphrase[cybpaypal_donate]</a></td>

in navbar template.

Then go to hack settings and disable automatic insertion of Donate link to navbar.

This will remove FAQ link and add Donate to it's place.

Cyb, the move the usergroup function does not work properly... I have a vip usergroup.. have everything setup properly.. I choose "Confirm and Move to VIP group"

.. it then moves the person, seems like they are in that user group.. only issue is they are lacking the usertitle that goes with it and rankimage(stars) .. then when I check user profile in admincp .. I see they have been moved to the proper user group.. just for some reason its not fully moving them? Issue with Permissions on the code?

Anyways to get around it ive just been going to admincp for each person and clicking save.. once I click save there it shows them as in the proper group.. so basically the issue seems to not be with the moving of the user to the group, rather it showing up on their profile.

First of all I want to thank you for the time you spent coding and updating this hack, but here's a problem I'm most concerned about, that I feel noone has addressed...due to the fact I can't find any mention of it within this thread.

When a user goes to the donate page, selects their amount and clicks the "Donate" button, they may, or may not encounter a problem when it takes them to PayPal. They'll probably get the "seller doesn't accept un-encrypted payments" error. That's not the problem, though.

In order for this hack to work properly, the seller, in this case, me...has to configure his PayPal account to accept un-encrypted payments...something I'd rather not do...but have to, in order for this hack to function properly.

Now...I've seen posts within this thread related to the "un-encrypted payment" error, but noone provided a response to them. So hopefully, I've answered their question...they just need to configure their website payments in PayPal to accept un-encrypted payments.

Now...if I had a choice...I'd rather not accept non-encrypted payments, but your hack doesn't support this option in PayPal...unless the "Donate" button is configured that way.

Do you have any plans...or any suggestions for fixing this issue?

Here's another issue I'd like to have answered, please...

I've configured a new Usergroup for this hack...I have it configured to follow permissions from another Usergroup.

When a person donates, I would like them added to the new Usergroup and, of course, I'd like to give them a special title for donating, but I don't want them moved from one Usergroup to the other...I hope you can understand what I mean...and I'm not quite sure how to set this up within the Admin CP.

Scenario:

Say I have a Moderator that wants to donate..of course, he needs to remain in the Moderator Usergroup...and his title needs to remain "Moderator"...and his permissions need to remain intact as well.

How can I configure the Usergroup to show that he's, in fact, included within the new Usergroup I created, but it does't conflict with his primary Usergroup? I'd also like to know how I can configure it so that his title remains "Moderator", but he also has an additional title of "V.I.P.", because he has donated.

The same would apply for all current Usergroups within the forum's database...

Any suggestions?

This is a very good mod and i have it installed but i need 1 more little feature for it to able to do what i need it for.

I want to accept donations from my users but i also need some kind of text area above the donations bit.

This is so i can add links to charities so if they don't want to donate to me then they can donate to them and at least someone is benefiting.

Is there anyway i could do this, the ideal place would be right above the dropdown box where they can choose how much to donate.

To be quite honest...I got tired of waiting for support on the issue of changing the date from d-m-y to m-d-y...

...so I went ahead and fixed it myself...

Note: Before you import the attached product xml file to your active forum, please test it.

For those who want proof that it is in fact working on a live forum, I have attached an image, as well, of my forum Donations page showing the issue is in fact fixed on a live forum.

I'm currently running vb 3.6.8 PL2.

You should put the username ID, not the username itself.

I have a few questions myself:

How to remove the Un-confirmed donators from the donation list. In other words, I want the donation list to only show the confirmed donators ?

How to show the same user ONCE in the donation list even if he donates more than once ?

In list view able to view within a certain month instead of since the beginning of donations
See amounts donated for a specific month
Donations bar able to place anywhere (refreshes every month or user set able)
Paypal integration to verify payment received and auto confirm it in table (set able to move to group auto or not to move when being processed in this manner)

I know it is all possible and just will take some time. I have already done some of the code (private use testing only) for some of the add-ons. Let me know if you want the code to help jump start this or if not interested all good. Just trying to help is all.

Installed but having a problem with the all donators list. For some reason not everyone shows up on the list after they have donated. Some do and some dont. Even if i manually add them they dont show up.. Any ideas???
As you can see in the screenshot have the silver award...But the guy that donated $70.00 isnt there.. It did change my award to silver but hes not there..should be right above me. Even if I manually add him he dont show up

I'm working with redkilla on his site and trying to get this mod fully working properly (works great in the default theme but we're having some problems with what he's listed above and also with getting all the features working with three custom templates). I wanted to add to his question and also ask how do we go about changing the look of the donlist page (listing of all donators) in some of the themes it looks very very horrible, it could be due to the style/themes css files but i don't want to change those and have other parts of the site start to look worse. Is there a way to edit the donlist page or code so that we can change the font or table colors to more properly match the styles used on the site? Thanks in advance for helping the two of us with your module and although we are seeing a few minor issues here and there with it overall it's a great mod and we appreciate that you made it and are supporting it still.

Here is code to do what you want. Just FYI you can not allow custom field to have the $ or it won't transfer correct to papal and will ask for you to enter the amount again. But with the drop down you
can have $ because it is a variable hidden within the array so only the array hidden gets passed not the visual amount you see.

Find in: Cyb - PayPal Donate - Ext (plugin)

Replace with:

And walla you have $ before the array amounts. Now if you want decimal points just add them within ACP like this 5.00,10.00,20.00,50.00,100.00 etc add the decimals there and you are all good.

Just remember if you have a minimum set in ACP you need to put decimals as well. You have to use the same format.

Installed but having a problem with the all donators list. For some reason not everyone shows up on the list after they have donated. Some do and some dont. Even if i manually add them they dont show up.. Any ideas???

You need to make sure you go to ACP and to the options for this mod you have the bottom section WRONG. Please review it and make sure you have everything filled out correctly with correct userid etc etc.

I had a problem with the postage and packaging too, here is a fix:

in CybPayPalDonate.XML find: (currently line 94)

This works great except one (or two) things that I'm unsure about.

When you click the donate link on my site in the nav bar, you see this a red x and a bar that says Give Securely With Any Major Credit Card Through PayPal! and then one down a bit lower on the left that says, Official Paypal Verified Seal.

I've uploaded all of the images into the appropriate folder (all the other images work) so I'm assuming it's PayPal's images that are gone now?? If so, where do I put the link to the images I find over there.

Nope! I am aware of the donation list... but there is no option to add and there is very limited editing (only confirm and date). Can't change the user. It is advertised back in an earlier version that the payment info could be edited. It also states now that they can be manually added. I don't see those options. Appreciate you trying, but does anyone know how to add or edit these?

If you are working on API integration let me know because that is the major reason why people still have old paypal donation systems. You can not just enable DonBar and check what's going on.

You must set it's options first.

Then there will be no any error message as it will know what you want.

ok i am using vbadvanced as my home page and my index page is renamed to forums.php. I tried to enable the hack on all pages even though its not good idea for load reasons but I wanted to see about certain pages and just left the option blank but the phrase Goal amount for this month: 200 USD, Received: 0 USD (0%) (of course the 200 is just a test amount) was not viewable on the vbadvance page but on my forum home page it was. At the moment i only have the mod enabled on my forum home page so if you want me to enable it on vbadvance again let me know.

Here is the problem with the new update!

When you set your goal it is all good but as soon as you go to your front page i am use vbadvanced the goal does not dispay, like the bar is their but not the words!!!

A nother thing i noticed is when the person clicks donate and it brings you to the paypal page well at the top it tells you what you are donating for!! but i see no opion to remove the defalt and replacing with your own!

This mod truly needs more love and I have done some coding already for you just take it and do what you want with it.

Picture below is old version but shows you some of what I have done. All the boxes are customizable in ACP and can choose to have bottom block on or not. I have done a lot more to it since this but you get the idea.

The biggest thing though is the API integration are you working on this???? I need to know because I have already started and this mod with the integration would be slam dunk awesome! All the people on the old 3.5.1 vbull donation mod could move to this one.

Also the donation bar should have been integrated with sinister's mod. Looks much better and can add more then just donations to it (subscriptions and more). More customization for the user. To integrate it with your mod is as easy as $donationbar within your donation template where you want the donation bar to appear. And clicking a bubble in ACP that says integrate with CYB-Paypal. You could add this to your mod in two seconds by even putting an option to use your donation bar or sinisters bar with a bubble click in ACP.

It would be nice if those who donated go some kind of "points". either rep points, or (kinda like the Post Thanks Hack) a new field in the profile (and post bit) saying: "Points:"

Also, the ability to set how many points per £1 (or whatever the currency is). eg, £2.00 = 1 point etc. etc.

Great mod, been using it for a while but just noticed something. I have set the suggested amounts but if I suggest ?x.50 then it rounds down to ?x.00 on the paypal page. Also with custom amount the same problem, you can't send ?x.50 it always gets rounded down. Any one have any ideas?:confused:

Hi AW. Can you briefly explain what this IPN thing is. Not sure I understand.

Also, I have ibproarcade and vbcredits (w/ plugin) installed on my forum. I noticed sometimes when a game in the arcade is ended, the donation bar is bleeded into the arcade menu. Not a critical issue, but was wondering if anyone else noticed that and perhaps is there a quick fix? Again, not a critical thing.

For whatever reason, the "done" half of the donate bar will not allow me to change it's color in the hack options. I can change the background color for "left" but color changes do not affect the "done" part.

The bar is really hard to see due to this as the "done" half is the same color as the rest of my page.

When a user clicks through from your site to paypal to make a donation paypal reports(posts back) back to your site through a script to confirm the payment with all the information regards to the donation transaction. This includes pending trransactions like echecks. If the member clicks through but does not follow through with the donation it will not show anyinfo and no member will show as donated. So there is no longer a need to check each user as confirmed by looking at your paypal account. Thats the basics of what it will do.

It is most likely because you have it set to "YEAR"... and all your donations were in 2007. yes? Same thing happened on my forum... Since the year now is 2008, donations in 2007 don't count anymore.

That's probably exactly what it was... I think I'm still going to use the hack because it's simple but not going to use the donation bar. I instead created a new forum that links to the donation page.

You can not just enable DonBar and check what's going on.

You must set it's options first.

Then there will be no any error message as it will know what you want.

Check twice that "Goal Amount" is not set to zero (0).

I'm pretty sure it is.

I can't seem to generate a donars list. In fact, the donation goal amount is $50 for the month and it shows 0% received even though I've receievd several donations thus far.

Any thoughts as to how I can get this stuff to work for me?

The most frustrating part of it is that I can;t see DONATORS under MISCELLANEOUS even though my settings all appear to be correct.

I haven't really spent to much time looking at the php or xml, but how can one easily revert the donation value back before it reset for 2008? What I'd like to do it have a display a total donated instead of yearly? Any ideas?

I'm not sure if these features have been requested before, but if they have please ignore this request :D

Is it possible to add a recognition feature to the donation mod.
Various options could be...
1) The amount the member has donated appears on his profile and also in the postbit.
2) There is a image displayed on their postbit relaying to the amount they have donated.. eg, 25 bronze star, 50 silver star, 100 gold star.
3) Having a donater of the month and of the year option to be displayed on their profile and as a platinum star in the post bit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i ran into a problem.One of my member use my default subscription for premium membership he made a payment and somehow he was not switch to premium member after making a payment.
Now under donation hack i have it shut off so when a member make a donation i don't want them to be in a specfic group.

I think this hack is causing problems on my default subscription.

I have a link in my quick links drop down menu, but as you can see by the SS, no way to confirm a payment.

Antoher problem with this is, when I go to the page to try to confirm, my smilies page is shown right up under the donation area where I am suspose to confirm payment.

Everything installed fine, and the hack is great just what I needed. However I'm having one problem. I can't seem to get the progress bar to show up on any other page other than the index page. I tried adding the $cybpaypal_donbar code into my forum display templates, but it doesn't seem to take. I also tried setting a conditional in the header to get it to show up. The conditional seemed to work correctly as it printed additional text I put in to test it, but it still ignores the $cybpaypal_donbar code.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I have one forum that is most popular, and I'm sure most people are bypassing the main page and entering directly into that forum, so I'd like them to be able to see the progress bar to encourage donations.

Help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Just a note, If your donaters are not showing up on the donate list you MUST be logged in as ID:1 which is the super administrator, it doesnt show for normal administrators.
