I have to say great job and this works perfectly for my boards. I only have one problem. I have had a couple people donate but when I go to Donators page there are not any user names showing up. It has all the Headings(user,amount,dates), but no names of the users. Any ideas?

I just updated & still get the following error if a donator selects subscription.

The link you have used to enter the PayPal system is invalid. Please review the link and try again.

Does anybody have any clues?

I just updated & still get the following error if a donator selects subscription.
Put 12 months instead of 1 year for subscription time period.

And if someone has weird problem with latest version (unknown text field after date) just re-download zip and re-import XML to your forums. ZIP was updated few minutes after sending update info to users.

Cyb i think u the Group Confirmed and Delete would be great Option too !!

i dunno anybody have the same problem that i have or not but in my site users Test Donate system and they just click on donate button but ... ! so i have more than 20 Unconfirmed donates Each day , so i have a huge list for delete ! it's not nice that i have to delete them ONE BY ONE ! loading and loading ..

Thanks and plz add this option too :)

-IP address shown instead of username for unknown donators (viewable to admins only)
-Admin have option to resolve unknown donator IP address into hostname
-Added "Donate Statistics" block into drop-down menu
-Added confirmed donations count
-Added total amount info
-Added option to choose which stats users can view (admins can view all)

It's like all other menus in vBulletin.
If other menus works for you then this one should work too.
It appears by clicking on "Donations" in table.

If you have modified hack templates for any reason then revert them.

Link to Donate page only gets added in forumhome page. It does not get added to vbCMPS navbar automatically. How to add it to navbar of vbCMPS navbar also?

How do you change the green font color to red?
Once i overwrote the upgrade. i lost the color change. I dont remember where I changed the color code. anyone know? thanks.

I read where cwj internet found it in the global cybpaypal template. but i cant find it.

Open the xml file and find this line

<phrase name="cybpaypal_donate" username="Cybernetec"><![CDATA[<font color="#66ff00">Donate</font>]]></phrase>

And change the color field to desired color.

Don't change product XML. It's wrong way.

Change color in Phrase Manager.
Search for "Donate"and when you find this one:
<font color="#66ff00">Donate</font>
remove font tags or change #66ff00 to desired color, then save.

Okay, I installed this a long time before the 'update' and it worked fine. Finally got around to downloading the updated version and did the import/overwrite. Now the donate page has totally disappeared. The plug ins are active, the settings in vBoptions are as they should be, but when trying to load the 'donate' page all I get is the main forum index......

okay found that now is the problem of getting the page to display like I had it before. Previously in the vBoptions>Cyb Paypal Donate settings I could use html for making the page like I wanted it ('note' section). Is there anyway to still do this using html? the bbcode doesn't give me what I want format wise.

oh and what if you don't want the subscription part at all? mine is a free site... has to be due to certain circumstances and agreements... however we can accept donations, but I don't want subscription option on there at all, will confuse my members, most of them are lucky to understand how to post or 'subscribe' for notification of replies to a thread.

Thx now it's working dunno why after adding the CybPayPalDonate.xml by import he have added the index not misc link

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the subscription portion for? Is it where you can donate $5 and if the subscription is for 4 months it would take $5 for 4 months for a total of $20? I looked through the posts and cannot find clarification. Then again... I may have missed it...

just try setting it up -- you'll find this the result --

"Please choose an option below -- if choosing a subscription, you'll be billed your donation amount per month for the term selected. Thank you!"

I do not install mods unless I know what the features are and what they do. Subscriptions could mean so much in vBulletin. You help is appreciated! Time to make a switch to this one.

Yea but i have custom template and when i set Automatically add link to Donate page to NavBar to Yes i don't see it in NavBar :P thats the problem ;)

It only does it if it's set for 1 year.

Great work! Simple and it works. I just a couple of fixes / suggestions that I wanted to raise with you.

[previous suggestions and code examples have been deleted to save confusion. These suggestions were all implemented by Cybernetec in version 3.9]

Suggestion: Auto confirmation?

Paypal has a return function where it will load a page you specify after a payment has been processed. If you could somehow use this to automatically confirm a payment it would be great!

Otherwise: brilliant mod - thanks for writing!

Is it just me, or isn't it kind of obvious that the instructions are at the top of the page, and also repeated in a file called info.txt in the download itself? This mod is so simple, it doesn't really need any further explanation.

the text file merely explains how to import the product and set the options in the admin panel. considering that is the easiest part of the whole thing, the text file falls way short of explaining how to get the product to run on any of our pages.

Well if you think it's just me - 493 installs noted on the counter seems to tell another story...

I note also that you have given pretty much zero information about exactly WHAT is not working. If you expect others to help you, then give them some information they can maybe work with, for example "the link doesn't appear at the top of the page". I'm just guessing here (since you gave no information), but it might be that your template needs to be manually edited. The author has kindly provided the instructions to do this immediately under the first instructions under the heading "optional".

-Group membership checking works now for supplementary usergroups too, not only primary one

-Added option to disable suggested amounts and use just input field instead of drop-down menu

You just import the product, set the options as it says in the info.txt, and a donate link appears in your navbar. The colour of that link is set in Phrases (just search in Phrases for "Donate" - either change the colour or remove the font tags). Click the donation link and you should see your page.

Perhaps you are expecting it to be harder than it is? Cybernetec's PayPal Donate has to be the easiest add-on ever. If your donations page is not showing, look at any other mods/hacks/addons you may have installed. They are really the only things that can mess it up. If you can't import the product, check your server setup. safe_mode can interfere with vB's ability to import and load addons.

Guys probably the wrong thread to ask in, but looking for a donation mod for my new vB forum which uses vBadvanced and can't decide between this and the 'Paypal Easy Donate' Mod.

I'm looking for reliability, latest vBulletin compatability, regular updates as well as vBa CMS integration.

Any tips on which way to go?

I've used both, with vBAdvanced, but that was a few releases of vB ago. I dropped VBA so have no idea of compatibility with 3.6.7. Of the two PayPal mods, I much prefer this one. Its an absolute breeze to set up, does exactly what you need, and Cybernetec's code is always reliable, kept up-to-date, and support is pretty good too.
The only reason I don't have many posts in vb.org is because I mainly use Cybernetec's mods. ;)
(Sheesh - sound like an advert. Don't know Cybernetec, but am just a very happy user of his work).

Awesome work Cybernetec! I've just upgraded and reverted all my changes back to default. Thanks for incorporating my suggestions so quickly. I've just got to report a few issues:

If no amount as selected as suggested amount and options are set to "Suggest and Custom" then the drop down box appears with "custom" but no box appears for text input. This isn't such a big problem, since I then set "Custom Only" and the box appeared. (in the first case, if suggested amounts were entered, the custom box did appear).

However, when operating in the "Custom Only" mode, new payments are not entered. In other words if I go and press the donation button I get transferred to paypal correctly, but no entry gets put into the list of donators - I have to enter it manually. As soon as I switch back to ""Suggested and Custom" the entry is placed into the list of donators.

If you want me to test an updated version before you upload it here, just send me a PM and I'll check it for you straight away.

I'm guessing some sort of automatic confirm via the paypal return page function might be too hard? :(

Well it's in and working but as I use a Custom Aria Sand+ skin with vBadvanced the only option I've got it to get it working is to ad dit as a menu option within vBa - which works.

However my graphic artist has kindly created 'Donation' buttons for the Aria Navbar - so is anyone willing to give me a hand in working out how to modify the Navbar template to incorporate those buttons?

But in reality you don't need to do this - the manual template edits are listed in the instructions.

Unfortunately there is no good way to do auto-confirmation. PayPal has donator's e-mail address which must not be the same as one member used to register on our forum, so it's useless parameter. PayPal has nothing with any forum data we have (userid, username, donation id) so again no safe parameter to make this working properly.

Unfortunately not... I'm using FF 2 and cleared the cache - same result. I even tried with Explorer 7 (which I've never used to test donate before), and also the same result :-(

Hi Cybernetec, I think I've found something. Just to recap my two previously reported issues were:

I've found that when using "Custom Only" I can work around the second issue by putting in a suggested amount (which is not displayed). The problem then disappears. This is an acceptable work around for me (since I now know it), but others may be confused. In other words - if using custom only, it is only natural to leave that field empty!

So it's ok as there is no good reason to have 'suggested amounts' field empty.

Also there is no reason to enable 'suggested and custom' when suggested is blank. :)

Ok everything i done in navbar was wrong, theme called tren_z made by extrimepixels have the navbar in the header. This is the code and bold changes i had to make to make this mod work.

So it's ok as there is no good reason to have 'suggested amounts' field empty.

Actually there is a very good reason to leave the field empty - if using "Custom only", then it is logical to leave this field blank, and if so - payments won't be recorded. I only mentioned both cases, since they both seemed to be connected to this field, and wondered if the cause of the bug was related.

I guess you can duplicate this behaviour quite easily on your own system to see what I mean (I already duplicated it on a totally different forum to be sure)

I expect Cybernetec will roll this code into the next release (Cybernetec - please do!!), so it will not be possible to install this together with any later or earlier version other than 3.9. Please uninstall this if you upgrade to a later version than 3.9

I'm obviously not understanding one issue.. I have the program installed perfectly; and it works great. However, when I try to edit the navbar, it doesn't show the Donate link in the template itself. However, it's showing up just fine on the board itself.. Odd... Can someone clear this issue up for me and explain why the donate link would show on the board, but not be in the template "navbar" itself?

Only admins and groups you configure can see the donate list. Pasting a link here and asking us to look makes no sense at all. Use a screenshot instead.

I would love to see the feature that XtAzY requeseted in the next release, that would be great.

Another "feature" to think about would be for a user to receive an image next to their username in the postbit template once they make a donation and are added to the donator's list page. What Im talking about is something similar to what v3 Arcade has when a user is wins a Championship on a game, they get a trophy added next to their name. Then when you click on their username and the drop-down list comes up you see at the bottom a "Username's Arcade Awards" section, well for this Hack maybe it could be "Username's Donation History" and show their donation info (Date and Amount). Just a thought I think would be a cool to have for this Donation Hack.

You'll need to edit the plugin called "Cyb - PayPal Donate - Ext"

Look for the first line which looks like this:

Follow it all the way to the end, which is just ABOVE this line:

Now copy and paste that entire block, but change the request value from donate to donate2. Then, within your copied block, find the line:

$navbits = construct_navbits(array('' => $vbphrase['cybpaypal']));

Change the name of the phrase to cybpaypal2, and insert a new phrase via the phrase manager identical to the first, but with the contents changed.

If you follow all those steps correctly, you should get what you want. If you are using fixed suggested amounts for both pages, you won't get what you wanted, I'd suggest using only an amount that the user enters themselves.

Didn't read through the 23 pages, but if it hasn't been reported, I noticed that in the subscription- Time Periods box, when you put 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 and then save it, go to the donate link, the choices for subscriptions it gives you is 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,112....it says 112 instead of 12.

Sorry, I've started you off - but you'll have to do the rest of the work yourself. Just read the code and try and figure out what is going on. In the second page I would just look for the variable and hard code the value to the amount you'd like.

Hi, just wanted to post here to see if someone could help me out. I want to add an image next to the Username of the member who donated after he/she has been confirmed for donation (15x15 pixel image). I would want the image to be next to the member's username in the postbit (postbit_legacy) template. Can anyone tell me how to go about doing this?

This image should be seen by everyone on the forum, even guests. I think it would be a pretty simple thing to do, but I do not understand how this stuff work and I've given it a try and had no luck.

I'm thinking maybe adding an <if> statement with a conditional to the postbit (postbit_legacy) template so that it shows there. The conditional would be the one that this Hack uses to set a user as confirmed, if it does ... I dunno, I'm just thinking and trying to get something to work so that I can get this added to my forum, but I have had no luck at all ... Can anyone please help me? I would appreciate it greatly ... I do have a couple questions.
When the new members donate to my forums we promote them to a different usergroup, is it possible to for this hack to do this? We als have an additional "donators" usergroup, that we use to show that a member has donated, could they be added to this too?

Currently when I receive donations I add the date, donators forum name and amount into a thread, could this hack automatically update the thread too?

In my addon for sending PMs for this hack I inserted a hook at the point where the donation is confirmed. You can add a plugin that references this hook to add a group membership or create a thread/post somewhere if you wanted to write it.

So sorry if this has been addressed, but I just discovered that this hack is now listing users who have donated by their IP and not their username on the Donated page...I don't see anything in the options to change it back to usernames. Anyone know how to fix that? Thanks.

edit: Or does it list the IP when its not a logged-in user? I searched the three IPs that are on my list, and only one showed as a registered user.

I run a VBulletin Forum using version 3.67 and a customised off the shelf template from VBSkinworks. I have installed this mod, but the links do not appear in the NavBar or under the Quick Links Drop Down Menu.

No probs, I have amended the header template to include the Donations link in the Quick Links Menu. However when clicked the link reverts back to the index page of my forum.

This is the link I am using:

That condition in the template should be a variable like $isdonator. If you set $isdonator = true, then your condition will fire.

But you'll need a plugin in order to set that variable up before the template is called (postbit). If you set the variable in your plugin, then when the template runs the conditional will trigger.

However, before you set the variable you'll need to decide whether to set the variable. You'll have to build a database query to check the database to see if a donation has been made by this user. If it has, set it to true, if not, set to false.

Note that this is a very quick and dirty method, and won't be very efficient. It will add a query for every post on the page. BUt if you don't have a really busy forum, it probably won't matter.

If this is your first plugin go to the tutorials section for the basics of creating a product and a plugin. There are also tutorials on building a database query.

Well there's always other ways, but I would say if this is your first attempt, don't get fancy, keep it simple. It might not be totally elegant, but it will work on your board and others. Once you understand more, you can work on improving it.

ahhhhhh, I give up I read the tutorials and tried doing some stuff, but no luck (I've been sitting in this computer for hours, I haven't eaten anything yet, lol) - This php coding crap is just not for me, much props to all coders, I must say ... I'll just have to live without having an image displayed next to the member's username if they have donated. I'll stick to what I know (HTML, CSS, etc) ... PHP is not my thing hahah ...

Danny - you probably know more than you think you do. The first time I read through all those tutorials it went over my head as well and I felt like it was too much. If you feel weak on php, then start out with some basic php tutorials and build some really simple little programs on your own PC. You'll see that it really is quite easy, and before long more and more of those tutorials will make sense. I've re-read many of them at different times, and at each stage of my own personal development I found I understood something new each time. I feel a lot more confident now than I did a month ago - that's for sure.

Just delete it then ... If someone inputs an amount and hits the Donation button it will be added to the list automatically, but as unconfirmed until you confirm it yourself. If you checked PayPal and it's not there, then just delete the Donation from the list - If later on you find out that the member did donate, then manually add it back to the Donation's List - that's the beauty of this hack :up: ...

Just one question - What was the exploit and what was the fix?
The reason I ask is that there were a few mods that were transferred to the "graveyard" when this exploit was announced. I can understand that the public was not told what the exploit was, only the authors. However, for the unsupported mods, this makes it difficult for the community to fix it themselves and those mods will just stay in the graveyard.

I'd like to have a go at fixing one of the unsupported mods that I use and posting it up for everyone else. If you could please let me know what code was changed, I can see if I can apply it elsewhere. (To save me comparing the files for changes myself). If you don't want to post this here, then please PM me.

If you look at your link carefully I'm sure you'll see where the problem is.

you added "index.php/" and it does not need to be there ...

cosy, make sure your using misc.php instead of index.php in your links (that's most likely the issue).

I no longer have this Hack installed, but I know a lot of people were having the same problem when I was using it and it was cause they had index.php instead of misc.php ... It tells you in the First Post that it changed and you needed to update your links ...

Is there a way to make donations that show up an Anonymous on the donation list?

How about a list of members who have donated without showing how much?

How about a GOAL number so we can show how close we are to the goal (maybe even a "thermometer" type graph)

1. I have made a manual subscription for a member but I can´t get the date/month/year to stay for the member. It still show d-m-y. What format shall I write? 09 08 07? 9 8 2007? (I have tryed everything)

2. If I have subscription for 12 month, what happens after 12 month?
Will he be "guest" or can I put him to another usergroup?

3. When I click on donation button an enter paypal, the amount field is empty.
Shouldn´t it be 15€ there if that´s what I have on my donation page?

4. What happens after a donation? What page will he be redirected to?
Any "Thank you" page?

5. Can I put more than one type of donation on the page?
Like:

I tried it, doesn't seem to work.. when I try to use this function and then check the user I applied it to.. doesn't seem like it applies properly.. checking further into the users account in admincp it shows the proper usergroup but it wont show up on their user page.. doing it manually works after..

Here is a question before when anyone would go and just check out the feature it would show up as them being donators. Does it still do it with this version, I guess my question is how does it know if the person donated or didn't.

I have a few different styles so I have tried to edit the navbar instead of using the "the phrase manager" way of changing the font color, so each style can be customized differently.

The Problem is the donate button will show in the navbar but when clicked it just reloads the same page and doesn't go to the donate page.

<font> tags are used in phrase. So if you remove it from there then default color will be used and Donate link will look like all other links in navbar.

Simply create link to FORUM/misc.php?do=donlist and forget $cybpaypal_donlist_link.
Something like: <a href="misc.php?do=donlist">Donations</a>.
Add new table cell if needed (depending on where you wish link to appear).

Hi,

I am trying to install this hack, but am encountering an issue. When I install the XML, the Paypal Donation menu in the Admin CP comes find, as does the donator itself on the forums. However, I can't alter any settings as it appears blank under "Donation Settings". From what I can tell this means I can't alter what Paypal account I'm using, the type of currency, fixed/unfixed donation types, etc. Please help!

how do you think about adding the following feature?

if somemone donates, then in the postbit a small icon like "donator" will show up.
the icon could then contain a link to the donators index, or the donate page, so users who click it can donate too.
and those who have donated are more visible in the forum. :)

i know that i could add such a "donator" image as "rank" for a "Donators Group" then.
BUT this rank image wouldnt be a link to the donations page.

haveing a simple small "donator" image appearing in postbit and postpit_legacy would be more then enought for our board. :)

Question.
I have some Premium Members that purchase a membership for 6 or 12 months.
I also wanted to set up a Donator user group for regular members that would like to donate.

What I can't figure out is if I have a Premium Member that uses the Donate link what will keep them from being moved to the donator user group?

Also is there anyway you can put a time limit on the donator usergroup?

If they donate this month have them put back in there normal usergroup after X amount of days

Suggestion :

On my site and what i saw in some other sites too...if someone donate $10.00.,
he/she will become XXX for just 1 month!
i guess it's quite hard a bit to check stats and found the members that their time is up and they should be remove !

what i want to have on this donate mod if possible that an options to have auto deletion of those expired donators (ie: $10 good for 1 mo. only) or if possible that the system will inform the admin via auto pm who is the expired donators....

is it possible that u can think and make a option for this too ??? thanks

I like this mod but there is a few small things I need to learn more about.

When I click "Donate" the PM will be sent to the donator:
We have been noticed that you have used our Donate system on d-m-y, H:i.
Your donation will be checked and you'll receive another PM if/when it's confirmed.
1. He havn?t made a donation yet! It makes a lot of work for the admin to check all members just looking...

2. The time isn?t right (d-m-y, H:i)
I have ymd H:i as standard in the forum, is that the reason?

On the PayPal side:
€15.00 EUR for each month, for 12 installments
3. What does that mean? 15 EUR x 12? I want 15 EUR for 12 month, not every month.

On the donate side:
4. Can I get the box after the amount checked by default?

Favorite question again:
5. What happens after 12 month? How do I get him back to normal group if he wont donate again? Any message to me?

When someone donates through Paypal, paypal eats up fees. So whatever the member donates the forum doesn't really get that actual donation. Isn't it better to show everyone what the actual pot is? If someone donated my forum $5 bucks, paypal will give us $4.73. Shouldn't the donator list read $4.73 and not $5????

Not sure if this has been ask already or not but on the donators list, is it possible to tally the donors name and amounts instead of just appending the name. Not sure if that makes sense.
If someone makes a donation of 10.00, their info appears as normal on the donation page, then next month they make another donation of 10.00. Instead of adding another line of info, add the 2 totals together and update the date of the original entry....or something to that effect.

anyway - some questions..

1) instead of moving people into another primary group - how could I configure it so it added people to an 'additional group' and retained the existing primary ?

2) how would I set it so that the TIME is also displayed on the dolist page as well as the date ?

3) is there some method to see the TOTAL donations so far ?

Hi there Guys,
Thought I would give this plug-in a whirl, I am having a tiny problem which I'm sure is something simple and has been mentioned by someone going back 5 or so pages but was unable to see a definitive answer.

I can get to the donate page without any problem, the navbar option appears as expected however when I don't seem to be able to bring up the donation page.

When I go to the following which looks correct by my eyes it brings up the smilies instead.

Also under 'Quick Links' > 'Misc' there doesn't appear to be any donating related links as expected.

Hi, if anyone can dumb themselves down a little and help a noob out I would appreciate it:)
I have managed to install Cyb-Paypal Donate without a problem. Navbar link etc etc...all showing up.
When a donation is made it does not show up using the link provided in Quicklinks. I am able to view the page which is blank(no donation details). Also there are no admin commands available to me there so I am not able to add donations manually until I have it sorted.
I thought I followed the instructions carefully however I must have missed something. Any hints would be appreciated guys..

It should of showed up in your adminCP / vBulletin Options.. Cyb-Paypal Donate I would try reinstalling CybPayPalDonate.XML

This was an issue in the one-touch spam ban and cleanup mod. On the PayPal-Donation-Form the subject field is always filled with something like that (instead of a descriptive name):

Hi there. I've installed this mod but when I click on the donor list I get an error page saying it can't find the link. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Nice mod,however I have an issue, whereby I have two Admin users that need to monitor paid subscriptions, yet whatever I set them as, they cannot view the list under the "Donations" Quicklink.
Any ideas?

from last update i got 5 pms in my site that they got this error after click on donate button :

Statistics - Admins can view all, above groups can view:

were is this statistic located and is there a way that I can set it so certain admins are unable to view the donations.

Installed - appears to work fine (3.6.8)

My only minor gripe would be that it sends the donator's physical address to the recipient (which isn't required). Can that be altered?

Another quick one:

Who send PMs to users (PM sender ID)

Who will be noticed about new donations (comma separated list of IDs)

Is the above the board User Name or ID number (Admin, Mod etc)

Good hack, a few questions though...

Is this mod being supported by the author any more?

Is there a vbadvanced module for this donation hack?

Also, for vba users, to get the link to show on your homepage, do the following...

edit navbar template

1) After vbphrase[user_cp]</a></td>

2) Add <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?do=donate">Donate</a></td>

It won't show as a colored link like the $cyb_paypal_donate_link variable will (I don't know how to get it to do that w/ a simple link...just use html??), but at least it appears in both places now.

Thanks for your work.
Installation: no problem
Configuration: no problem
Custom template modification: maybe a problem

In the quick link bar I can't see "Donator" instead of that I will see $vbphrase[cybpaypal_donations]

Also the link seams to be broken.It looks like this (URL changed)

Any ideas?

Another Q... how do I move the 'Donate' button/text along the Navbar? :)i have a custom navbar, so i have the auto-insert disabled. however, you can manually add this code into the navbar template where you want the link.

my question is for Cyb: is there a way to make something similar to https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=153519 with this mod, so that it is integrated and updates as people donate? and a cmps module with like a pie chart instead of the bar?

Thanks for that. :) I have the code manually inserted in the right place but how do I get it to "space automatically" with the other links? It's right next to another menu item (no space).

Upgraded from 4.1 (which worked perfectly)

But now 4.2 gives me this error (with my custom link and the hacks link both point to misc.php?do=donate)

:)the total insert should be something like:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="misc.php?do=donate">Donate</a></td>
and should go between the </td> of the item you want it behind, and in front of the <td> of the item ahead.

EDIT: i am a forum admin, but when i go to the donations list, it does not show the unconfirmed donations, or give the option to confirm it. now, the only donation thus far was one made by me for testing. would that have anything to do with it? can i not confirm donations made by myself?

I modified this mod to have more details in the front donation page more like what bills paypal donation has. Makes it more appealing and can add info text to people. I think it is a must add on for this mod please look at bill paypal mod and include some of it.
