Can you do dynamic meta tags in VB4.1.5
Hi,
I am using VB4.1.5 and the meta description and keyword tags are the same for all pages. Is there any mod/plugin that will insert dynamic meta tags so that the thread shows up in the search engines with a proper description unique to that thread. I see that VBSEO can do it but was hoping for something cheaper as the forum is only just starting out. Dale. http://www.settledin.com.au/forum/forum.php . |

Threads do not have the generic meta description and keywords. They are generated dynamically for each thread.
Either that or I'm seeing things on the sites I manage. --------------- Added [DATE]1314968027[/DATE] at [TIME]1314968027[/TIME] --------------- And neither do your's.. From a post on your site.. HTML Code:
<meta name="keywords" content="hobart real estate, move tasmania, move to tasmania, moving house to tasmania, moving to tasmania, real estate bargains tasmania, real estate hobart, real estate news tasmania, real estate tasmania, relocate tasmania, relocate to tasmania, relocating to tasmania, tasmanian house prices, tasmanian real estate, tasmanian real estate prices, tasmania, cent, house, estate, real, hobart, market, moving, property, discuss, news, price, sales, nationally, capital, data, average, year, search, latest, home, values, affordable, prices, relocating, settled, time, buying, perfect, unit, trend, find, personal, city, assistance" /> <meta name="description" content="Hi, Some new figures have just been released regarding the Tasmanian real estate market. Now is a good time to get a bargain in Tasmanian real estate. It seems that prices are down generally and the market is much slower. See this article for the full details: Hobart house sales hit low Real Estate News - The Mercury - The Voice of Tasmania For a contrast to this gloomy news you should read a recent blog post of mine:" /> HTML Code:

Hi,
I have discovered the problem. The threads get a unique description for search engines but it seems they get an identical description for Facebook liking purposes. If you look at the source of a sample thread on my forum: http://www.settledin.com.au/forum/sh...ade-increasing The description is generic and when I like the page for Facebook it just uses a generic description. Any idea on how to fix this? Dale. http://www.settledin.com.au/forum/ . |
