I have a TV as my second monitor like that. I used the NVIDIA control panel (right click on the background) and under Display => Set up Multiple Displays I chose "Configure independently" or something like that, then I went to Resolution and was able to change them separately.

Hmm...the only thing I can think is to make sure you have the latest NVIDIA stuff (and reboot if you haven't). I don't know, maybe it's something that's only a feature of certain cards.

There is a utility called "PowerStrip" available here:
http://downloads.guru3d.com/PowerStr...nload-169.html It should allow you to set a custom resolution, one of which should fit nicely on your HDTV. I used this utility several years ago for the same problem, though it has since been updated to work with the latest graphics cards. |

Have you checked out "Advanced settings" on your NVIDIA settings, should be a way to enable multi-monitor support...
