I upgraded my board to vb4.. Mostly everything was straight forward, but now the search feature is not working properly. When you try to run a search, its giving a database error. I checked the permissions on the ftp site for search.php, which was 755.

I want the search feature to work, or at least is there a way to put vb3 search feature back on (the users seemed to like the older one a lot more)

Are there any third party search options that could probably solve my problem? Maybe even run better than the built in search feature?

What is the database error? Did you rebuild the search indexes when you finished your upgrade?

If you have a dedicated server, you have the option of installing sphinx.
