Problem with search function on vbulletin 4.
I upgraded my board to vb4.. Mostly everything was straight forward, but now the search feature is not working properly. When you try to run a search, its giving a database error. I checked the permissions on the ftp site for search.php, which was 755.
I want the search feature to work, or at least is there a way to put vb3 search feature back on (the users seemed to like the older one a lot more) Are there any third party search options that could probably solve my problem? Maybe even run better than the built in search feature? Thanks in advance! |
What is the database error? Did you rebuild the search indexes when you finished your upgrade?
If you have a dedicated server, you have the option of installing sphinx. |
Lynne, can you install sphinx on a VPS?
