Top Bar at the top of the page - how can it be done.

I'm trying to add a bar at the top of the page to display my other websites etc like this:

How can this be done and is their already a hack for this as I cannot find one?

Its just HTML, you can place it at the top of the header template.

I tried what you said but it seems to not work and only displays the text without the html background - I;ve used this on many other websites

what would you use in HTML to create the bar ?

Any HTML can be placed in templates, double check the HTML you've used. Be sure to include any CSS or other code if its required.

You must Make a $topbar and have a template , AWjunkies wrote the plug in for me , I hard coded it in html and things got bad in a hurry real slow and google links were duplicated with the topbar content as the descriptions

The google Custom Search allows Guests to Search the site as much as they want and adds no server load , Yes the Custom search is only google indexed content but it also searches all my sites and not just my forum , Exp.

A Search for "Fuel Pump"

Will return all the Fuel Pump Threads on My Forum (Indexed in Google)
All the Listings for Fuel pumps on my Classifieds Site (Indexed in Google)
All the Places to Buy Fuel Pumps on my links directory (Indexed in Google)

If your going to do a top bar do it right , use images and no text and have it called on Global Start and not on every page refreshing each time
