You need SCSI drives for databases. 15K rpm is preferable. I would also add more memory. It should tide you over for a bit.
On the software side, install APC or one of the other php accelerators. Configure vb to use the datastore. Tune Mysql. Install sphinx to unload the heavy searches from Mysql.

How big is your database?
I assume a few hundred megabytes. That will fit in memory, so hard drives won't matter at all.
according to this this thread i got all the information but i mm stuck on step no 11. "if you run Apache and you have your own dedicated server or access to your httpd.conf (apache configuration file) can you post the values you have set for the following :

This information is in your httpd.conf file. I use webmin, so I can access it through there. Ours resides in etc/httpd/conf/ (which points to usr/local/apache/conf/ ) so you may want to look there.
Hey, I may have a little tip for you. I assume you have SSH access to your server, try these steps. There are really simple ( I did it to mine and freed up 50% RAM) It's something to do with Apache and benefits your server load by huge amounts.
Try it out.
