Moving from ZeroForum to vBulletin
Hi,
Has anyone used ZeroForum before? I want to make a transition from ZeroForum (hosted by them) to a self-hosted vBulletin. Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be done? I've tried to contact ZeroForum directly, but they are not responding to emails or calls. Any insight would be great! Thanks! |

unless you have access to your database, or they'll give you the database you wont be able to convert

From what I can find, ZeroForum uses XML. I've emailed ZeroForum to see if there is anyway to grab the DB. |

You will need a backup of the database in a format which you can then import via phpmyadmin or SSH to your server where you will be installing vBulletin.
The most common methods are SQL or tar.gz but these can also be in XML or CSV format. I'd try and get a SQL or tar,gz file if possible, but if not, then an XML should be fine. |

I've tried to call and email them several times, but no response. This is becoming a really big hassle. I want to make the move over to VB but I need the data intact. Is there any other way that I can "grab" the data and export it using a tool. (ie - without relying on ZeroForum for exporting or login information into the mySQL server?) - I've paid them for the service, they setup the forum and all I did was login and start creating the forum sections....and now I can't get in touch with them to get my data. |

I've had a look at their demo and cannot find any export function at all. There's an import, but no export so you would need to try and get a database dump from them.

Good luck, as i beleive thats the catch with them.
I'd be highly upset after looking at their pricing, and not being able to get atleast a return email |

The importer works with the XML backup file that I belive is avaiable via the Zeroforum admincp.
