OK, what i've made:
-----------------------------
hacked 3 vb files, so when user registers, changes his info, or admin is adding user, changes user info, deletes it- all this information goes
into nuke_users table too. and when user changes info in nuke, same info goes into vb's user table (i included php-nuke 5.5 hacked Your_account/index.php)
-----------------------------
note: this hack is running in my site, without any problem
btw, i included small install script, which transfers vbulletin users to php-nuke users table
I got it working on Nuke 5.6 and vb 2.2.9 with no problems. My only concerns now to figure out is:
1. How to integrate the logins. so when you login to one you are logged into both and visa versa. (Any thoughts?)
2. Merging the account info data somehow for user template changes. (If you redirect the "Your info" in nuke then you won't be able to affect changes to your styles for nuke, etc). Guess you could add those links directly to another module and place on the main nuke page somewhere.
GREAT HACK Though..
BTW I'm using Vb / Photopost / php-nuke and all are integrated now.. Photopost authenicates to the VB user db and this hack for php-nuke.. what a wonderful combination.
Has anyone got a hack like this that will work with nuke 6 and vB 2.2.9? At the moment I have my site set up with those and it would be awesome if the user accounts could be linked so people didn't have to register twice, once for the main site and once for the forums. If anyone here can help me out it would be much appreciated.
I talked to w4u the other day and he says that someone posted a version of this hack that works with php nuke 6 on his forums. They are down right now though, so I hope he opens them back up soon.

I think the biggest issue people have with vBPortal is the cost...
First of all, vbportal is free. The second laugh is that I guess $20 to have a LOT of amazing features, far more than vblite or vbhome whatever it is, is too much for a donation is laughable! I've been fortunate to work with those guys at phpportals and my web site is nice and doesn't even use half the power...
I'm working on this hack but not one that just registers. It's not as easy as one hopes which is why it isn't out just yet.
Looking at 6.5 I'm not sure what to do. It seems like FB has created a huge mess with the phpBB2 forum integration. I'm not sure what will be done for 7.0 so investing all the time in hacking something also comes down to what in the world I really want to use. I'm not sure Nuke is the answer any more although i'm not sure what else is good that is out there. What a bummer.
