Default Anonomous posting in one forum
I want to be able to allow comments to news items without having to be a registered member. I have the forum permissions setup to allow them unregistered/not logged in to post, but they still have to give a unique name.

Is there a hack or way?

Just install the anonymous post hack.

thanks very much, I searched and came up short.

Actually, this does not fit the bill. I am looking for a way to allow non-registered members to post. This looks like it only lets exsisting users post Anon.

It's all in the permissions. If you set Unregister group to be able to post in the forums + permission to post as anonymous, you'll get the result you want.
