It's overly complicated to get the RSS, parse it, and then put it on a static page.

Are you trying to put your own forum's posts or another forum's posts on your web page? If it's the former, it's easier and more efficient to query the database using one big-ass query and parse the appropriate text rather than parsing XML which must be generated.
