vBulletinTemplates original style is easily available for viewing, you do not have to choose the 'Grid Lock' style. While I do not think it is trend*****, you may think otherwise.
Many people use the same style but that does not mean it is trend*****; you may have the wrong idea of what trend***** really is.
Grunge would be a prime example of trend*****, the exact same images are used over and over in various designs; you cannot really say the same for the grids as they are different in various designs.
